In all honestly, I think the lack of new content for Splatoon 3 is partially due to Nintendo shifting gears towards their next console, with most of the original designers being assigned to work on other projects while some new faces took the reigns for this game (apparently 1/3 of the design team for Splatoon 3 was hired through a job posting that was posted to the Japanese Nintendo Twitter account a day after the game was revealed)
