1. why did you choose your url?

i was still very much into the anime haikyuu!! and shipped sakuatsu so much– so atsuwiee is basically atsumu + the word 'wiee' idk it seemed cute so i put it in,, so this blog was supposed to be a sakuatsu oneshots lol not until i got into enhypen

nope i don't have one, i used to want to make one but idk how to so😐

i think i had the account on the begining of november (?) not quite sure lol, but yeah it was somewhere near christmas. so in total i have been here for abt 5-6-ish months hehe.

as i mentioned before in the first question, this blog was supposed to be for sakuatsu. i actually had drafts of my oneshots already but since i have a new phone (my current one) i can't really transfer those notes ://

ouh i kinda don't remember– but i think it's the slow dancing with enhypen! one. i honestly like that one the most lol bcs it was some brainrot content i finally got to write.

i think if it's needed and it's info is very ig crucial ?? then i would share it– like if it's really really important, but if the post is like crappy af and it's info isn't really relevant then i wouldn't share it (or if it contains content that isnt good).

What I think of each type as an ENTP

INFP: Quiet savages. Hilarious. Maybe should work on actually expressing discomfort.

INFJ: High expectation pros, but highly insightful in a conversation. Adaptable. Do I even know you?

ISFP: So easy to talk to!! Relaxed in the streets, freaking out everywhere else. Listen to your own advice for once.

ISFJ: Determined. They keep it lowkey, but powerful af. You laugh at my jokes so I obviously enjoy your presence. Oh, take a break.

INTP: My more laid back twin! I love discussing things with you because of that neutrality we both have. Go outside more. And actually reach out when you need help.

INTJ: Have I ever wanted to fight and hug a person at the same time? Probably not. Overthinking champions, you really made me question things over and over again.

ISTP: Mysterious open-books?! Sharing only necessary things, I have to dig deep to get a definite answer from you. Extremely capable.

Series: bridal mask / gaksital Episodes: 28 Genres: historical, action, drama, romance, tragedy, people screaming each others’ names in all capital letters 2006 anime style Spoilers in the Rec: im going to try to avoid them. im really, really going to try. but no guarantees If You Like, You’ll Like: zorro, robin hood, v for vendetta, chicago typewriter, vigilante shit, kate beaton comics on My Nemesis, mr sunshine, watching people become progressively unhinged, bad guys that become good guys, good guys that become bad guys, Parallel Narratives, cat and mouse games but they’re both cats, 2010 hair in a 1930s world, people in a room together internally thinking does he know that i know that he knows?

GAKSITALLLLLLLLLLLLLL PREMISE

set during the japanese occupation of korea in the 1930s, bridal mask centers on lee kangto, an absolute shit weasel. like. good god, what an asshole. anyways.

kangto is a korean police officer who is employed by the japanese--meaning he’s essentially a rat/turncoat to his own people and supporting their colonization and abuse of power. it’s especially fucked up because kangto’s older brother was tortured so much by japanese police officers that he’s essentially lost his mind. people hate kangto. straight up hate him.

as a lieutenant in the imperial police, kangto’s been working to catch members of the korean resistance movement, but left and right he’s been thwarted by...

THE BRIDAL MASK (gaksital in korean)

a mysterious figure who wears a mask resembling a korean bride’s traditional makeup. bridal mask is essentially zorro, fucking up shit left and right and generally making kangto lose his shit. he makes it his goal to be the one to apprehend and arrest this mysterious figure. seems straightforward, but as kangto’s search for the bridal mask continues, and the people around him are drawn into the hunt, it’s clear that shit’s not what it seems.

MAIN CHARACTERS

lee kangto/sato hiroshi/lee young

a korean man who works for the japanese as a police officer. 0% approval rating from the koreans and maybe a 5% approval rating from the japanese. kangto’s initial goals for joining the police force were to help his family get out of poverty, but his morality’s been cha-cha sliding progressively darker the longer he works for the police force. he becomes obsessed with catching the bridal mask and everyone would like him to really quit being an asshole but he will not.

catch phrase is bingo! takes over the nightclub stage when he’s feeling swaggy. would shoot the love interest. shoots pretty much anyone wearing a mask, really, then yells about it

oh mok dan / mild spoiler: esther / spoiler: boon yi

a patriotic korean woman associated with the independence army, mok dan commits acts of subterfuge and gathers intel against the japanese forces. her day job is a performer at a circus, where she lives and hides out from japanese officials whenever shit goes awry. when lee kangto sees her getting saved by bridal mask, he assumes she’s the bridal mask’s lover and therefore intends to use mok dan as The Bait. mild spoilers it turns out she was once childhood friends with lee kangto’s best friend, kimura shunji

wears many amazing suits. has no problem with spitting or shooting. fears no boxes. can take a punch or 5. basically my dream girl it’s fine

kimura shunji

a japanese man and kangto’s best friend. coming from a family of influential, imperialist asshole samurai cops, shunji is the black sheep as he works as a music teacher for korean children, and is generally against the corruption and abuse of power when he sees it. basically the only one kangto’s never a straight up asshole to, including his family. the two practice what appears to be kendo together (i know jack shit about martial arts), and shunji’s a capable fighter. my default is to assume shunji is everyone’s favorite character, because he is my favorite character :’D, but if not i think he’s definitely the most compelling in the series.

wears bowties when he wants to dress to impress. rides bicycles both happily and tragically. has a thing for a childhood friend who saved his nanny. will give you a ride home after you’ve been tortured. save this man from his family.

ueno rie/ra ra/ spoiler: chae hong joo

a korean woman from a rich family that was murdered by the independence army who later became a gisaeng. as a gisaeng, she crosses paths with a very important japanese man who later adopts her into his family. because the japanese police keep fucking up the apprehension of bridal mask, her adoptive father calls her to korea from japan in order to kill the vigilante

stealth fave?! will step all over you and makes grown men cry. hyper competent and hardcore. bridal mask’s best dressed (try again with the bow ties next year, shunji). men are weak

the bridal mask GAKSITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the mysterious figure either ruining or making everyone’s day. dramatic horse escapes. dramatic rescues. generally just drama. symbolically destroys japanese flags/insignia a lot. GAKSITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOME SUPPORT CHARACTERS SELECTED BY HOW MUCH THEY ARE MY FAVORITES

mok damsari

mok dan’s father and a general in the independence army. v good at being rescued dramatically. knows how to make an exit and also bombs. dispenses life wisdom when he’s got free time in between rounds of being torture

lee kang san

kang to’s older brother, who joined the independence army and was tortured by the japanese police to the extent that he’s now lost his mind/severely mentally ill. dude just needs a hug or 20 and to never chase after a car ever, ever again because it makes me sad.

katsuyama jun

ueno rie’s bodyguard, which is amusing to me because she can clearly kill anyone she needs to, so it’s kind of like he’s a butler as well. stoic af, says maybe 20 lines in the entire series, but look, he’s cool

i dont like any of the japanese police officers because they’re dicks so they don’t get a feature :|

Drawbacks

the production value is something you gotta settle into LOL. there’s the cheesy martial arts sound effects, sometimes it skews a little narmy, but once you get used to it and once the show gets progressively darker (and how) you adjust and then don’t notice it

my main #1 beef: mok dan starts to disappear in the last fourth of the series. like she’s still there, but she’s doing bullshit like making soup and just sitting at a table with nothing to say. as a character that’s so important in the first half, it’s severely disappointing the route that her narrative takes toward the end/she does become something of a satellite character even though i still love her

there are main character deaths--more than one. some people would say the ending is bittersweet but to me i think it’s straight-up sad (which is fine with me/appropriate for the story, i just know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea)

there’s torture and for the most part it’s shown / it’s not off-camera

shit gets dark. the first handful of eps might lull one into thinking is something like zorro or robin hood, but there’s a lot of fuckery and death by the time you get to the end

Reasons to Watch

i mean, it’s fun! which is a messed up thing to say about a dark show, but there’s a lot of twists and the show’s an extended game of cat-and-mouse that’s a good time because the audience knows certain things but the main characters don’t. the drama of it all!

Now That’s What I Call Character Arcs. kang to + shunji’s respective character arcs are amazing and are referred to as the best part of the show for a reason. you’ll hate and love them both throughout the series and it’s great. shunji was my favorite

i love both the female leads a lot. they’re totally different in personality and the sides that they’re on, but they’re both compelling and they have their own troubles and goals to work through

one of the main characters looks around the chaos happening and decides to just fucking leave all these people behind forever lmao i love it

acting is great! some people knock on mok dan’s actress but i thought she was perfectly fine for the character

i’ll admit, i’m into characters who become progressively unhinged and the actor who plays the character who does is so so A+

there’s romance but gd does it get dark sometimes. this is a plus or a minus depending on who you are lol

member: lai guanlin genre: very fluffy summary: you’ve always had a crush on guanlin but you never thought he would like you back, what happens when he asks you to wear his varsity jacket to be his lucky charm at his final basketball game?

you and guanlin were friends because you sat in maths class together

which mostly consisted of you and him complaining about the class and not doing the assigned work

“guanlin it’s been exactly 23 minutes and 16 seconds that we’ve been in this class but why does it feel like two weeks” you’d groan

he would smirk at you, and reply “we have 67 minutes and 44 seconds to go” you’d huff and puff but then you’d finally do you work

by work you mean copying off the answers from guanlin

the thing is for you it was weird to be his friend

well you didn’t want to be only his friend but you pushed your feelings in the deepest place in you mind

why?

because he was probably the most popular guy of your grade and you were just one of those people who blended into the background

he was the star player of the basketball team, nice, funny, smart and not to mention his ridiculously good looks

because of this he had A HUGE FAN CLUB like no joke even like girls three years older than him wanted to date him

Guanlin also had very popular friends across the grades even some in university

he was exciting and fun and you were plain and boring

you had absolutely no chance with him

you happily settled with just being his friend but you couldn’t sometimes help but wish that maybe one day something would happen

one maths class guanlin asked you to go to the final of his basketball game

you agreed cause you had nothing planned for that night other than binge watching netflix

the day of the game guanlin came to you when you were eating lunch which was a very unusual occurence

you could feel the glares and whispers of other girls

feeling awkward and uncomfortable you asked him “whats up?”

unexpectedly he looked even more nervous than you and said

“uhhhh i have a favour to ask? i always have someone who’s important to me wear my varsity jacket at my final games. Is it okay if you could wear it tomorrow?”

he said looking at the ground and rubbing his neck which you knew was nervous habit of his from the hours of staring at him

your heart was beating SO FAST you think that everyone could hear it

you tried to muster a normal (not too excited so i seem chill) smile without squealing

guess what, you failed, you literally squeaked in response

but after freaking out you finally beamed a smile and replied “i’d love to”

he gave you his most heart melting gummy smile which you literally thought could melt you

he started to ramble after you said yes “like i didn’t mean to be weird it’s just my sister always wore my varsity jacket at my final games but she’s still in taipei and i don’t have any other important girls in my life other than you”

your heart then was torn in two parts

complete devastation because HE SAW YOU LIKE A SISTER not just a friend A SISTER

but also just pure bliss because you’re the only important girl in his life other than his family

you just ended up smiling and saying “it’s not weird at all, i’d love to be your good luck charm” you said with a joking wink

then of course guanlin proceeds TO BLUSH

you freaked out because

1. you are NEVER that flirty (but it’s probably because of the panic that he looks at you like a sister which of course causes you to awkwardly flirt)

2. HE BLUSHED this cool gorgeous guy BLUSHED because of you

he mumbled a few incoherent words something along the lines of “see you at the game” and handed you his varsity jacket

before you know it your one and only close best friend looked at you with her jaw open and simply said like the dirty minded hoe she is

“he totally wants to get in your pants, GO FOR IT HONEY!”

you whacked her in the arm and said disappointedly “he only likes me as a friend even a sister”

“keep on telling yourself that” she smirked

because of your friend teasing you you didn’t notice guanlin getting teased by ALL of his friends

“yah! guanlin giving her your jacket is not good enough bloody confess to her already!” jihoon said

“aw you and y/n would be sooo cute” daehwi cooed who else would it be

“not as cute as us though” jinyoung said while wrapping his arm around daehwi jokingly totally not joking

“hmm guanlin-ah after we win because we’re totally gonna win, KISS HER” seongwoo cockily remarked

“do that confess, ask her out and boom you’re a couple” added daniel

“you’ll be fine” woojin said reassuringly while patting his shoulder

he just basically groaned the whole time his hyungs were talking and just wanted it to be at the game already

*the game*

you were wearing a plain white tshirt dress which was a bit short for your comfort with Guanlin’s varsity jacket and your hair in a loose kinda messy bun with minimal makeup

you gotta admit you looked pre cute

especially because at school you wear baggy sweatpants and worn out t shirts, you hair is a mess and you’re sure sometimes you have some dried drool on your cheek

you were on the bleacher closest to the court so you could see guanlin play and cheer for him

unbeknownest to you guanlin had checked if you were there and once seeing you his heart was beating so rapidly

more than if he sprinted for like 30 minutes

because you looked so beautiful

he literally screamed in the locker room to jihoon

“Y/N LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL I CANNOT LIKE SHE ALWAYS LOOKS PRETTY IN SWEATS BUT LIKE WOW SHES BREATHTAKING ESPECIALLY IN MY JACKET.”

and guanlin just blushes and nods

*okay time skip to the actual game*

you couldn’t help but appreciate how hot guanlin looked in his basketball tank top which showed off his lean but muscular arms

and his uniform just made him look taller than usual

but first half the team played really well thrashing the other team

guanlin was shooting most of the goals and you were like

that’s my man but like lol no he’ll never be intersted in me

in the break between the halves he gave you a wave and a warm smile

you smiled back, showing off your jacket and giving him a hwaiting gesture

he gave you a thumbs up back

in the second second half the other team catched up because one of the best players (seongwoo) injured his ankle and couldn’t play

he totally swore so loudly when he got injured for like 10 minutes straight

with only 2 minutes to go it was a tie and the ball was on the opposite side of the court of the boys goal

you were so anxious you were screaming encouragements hoping that the guys would win

suddenly guanlin blocks the ball from going into the goal and then grabs and dribbles it super fast to the middle of the court

with only a few seconds left he shoots a three pointer

EVERYONE GOES CRAZY!!!!

you tried to fight your way to Guanlin but he was being so crowded you waited for everyone to calm down

before you know it Guanlin was right in front of you

and whispers in your ear

“i deserve a reward for shooting the winning goal don’t ya think? my sister would always give me a peck on the cheek if we won?”

he said cheekily and suggestively

you were blushing so hard not just because of his request but also because his face was only centimetres away from yours

your insides were freaking like “YOU WERE GIVING YOUR CRUSH OF MORE THAN A YEAR TO KISS HIS CHEEK BECAUSE HE ASKED”

and you just blushed and tried to be hard to get but totally failed

“just because you scored the winning goal” you replied

you stood on you tip toes to kiss his cheek cause you were short af

as you were leaning in to kiss his cheek you closed your eyes

you didn’t realise he twisted his head to face yours for your lips to reach his

he didn’t even know what he was doing because he never kissed anyone

cause like even him the swaggiest of rappers can have zero experience

his mind was freaking out and he knew it was because of the adreanaline of the game which made him so daring

and before you both knew it

you felt a pair of lips warm and soft on yours

YOU FREAKED OUT INTERNALLY but honey you weren’t gonna stop

you felt one of guanlin’s hands cupping your cheek and one on your lower back

you could hear the wolf whistles and cheers and shouts of “YEAH FINALLY!!!” from literally all the wanna one boys and basketball team

you slowly parted away from your first but probably the best kiss you’ll ever experience

and guanlin just looks down on you he’s a giant and you see his gummiest smile and his eyes are just shining of happiness

you mirrored basically the same expression but also like confusion

cause thoughts being like what the fuck just happened does this mean he likes me WHAT??!!!

before you could express any of these thoughts

Guanlin tells you super shyly and sweetly

“um well first of all i like you a lot LIKE A LOT i have since our first conversation, i kinda really fell for your smile and personality and looks and just everything i guess” he continues by saying

“i thought you’d never like me cause you’re basically perfect but like i think you do?? cause like yeah”

he awkwardly ended it with an adorable smile and you burst out laughing

“you thought i’d never like you, boi you so swaggy” you said with wiggly eyebrows trying to diffuse the kinda awkward but not really but also super endearing situation

guanlin laughed and whispered under his breath which you only just heard

“this is why i love you”

“wait shit i said that out loud, ugh shit well whatever at least it’s true”

he said looking sooooo embarassed

you laughed softly and said “i love you too guanlin-ah”

he smiled broadly and without hesitation he asked

“since you love me so much, will you be my girlfriend?” he said with a teasing tone

“hmmm i’m not sure cause jihoon’s pretty cute, don’t ya think?” you said jokingly

“HEY! i’m so much better than jihoon hyung” guanlin pouted

“guanlin trust me you’re not” jihoon commented butting into your moment

guanlin just sulked before you giggled and cupped his cheeks

“of course guanlin, I’d love to be your girlfriend.” you said kissing his cheek for real this time

he smiles and says in awe “y/n is actually my girlfriend i don’t believe it”

you just smile and the crowd errupts into cheers

seongwoo taps guanlin on the shoulder and tells him

“guanlin as much as i enjoy young love and you actually having some guts to ask a girl out, coach wants us in the lockeroom” he said smirking and winking at you

you laugh cause seongwoo is always funny

“yeah i’m coming hyung” guanlin replied

“but before i leave” he says to you

he kisses you on the forehead and whispers to you sweetly

“wait for me princess, i’ll be back soon”

and wow you just became an absolute puddle of goo

you just nod and say “of course i’ll be waiting aren’t i your lucky charm?” you say with a wink

he laughs and sends you a gummy smile as he runs towards the locker room

you hug his jacket around yourself and just process everything that happened

you’re wearing the jacket of your crush-wait no boyfriend-and you’re so glad guanlin asked you to wear it

and you end up wearing it to every single game after that one

hero name:(key: it’s not “the pew pew” go AWAY TAEMIN)

it’s actually just “key”

he wanted to keep it simple

also the names ot4 suggested were a hard pass (onew: pls be wattson plS / jong: no srsly what’s wrong with lightning mcqueen)

wears sunglasses all the time so it’s become his signature look

he thinks they make him look swaggy especially when he coolly takes them off before using his powers

they’re not special sunglasses at all so sometimes when he does forgets to take them off before he shoots lasers from his eyes, he burns holes in them (key: DAMMIT THESE WERE GUCCI)

he has kamehameha’d before while using his powers bc his members are anime dweebs and KEEP SAYING IT WHEN HE PRACTICES

so he did the hand motion and it was admittedly kind of awesome to shout KAMEHAMEHA and ot4 was like “HIS POWER IS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

at first when he had trouble with his powers, he fried five of his phones bc he got annoyed while playing candy crush

and when he asked to borrow one of ot4′s phone, they quickly learned (after he short-circuited taemin’s phone) to dial for him and put it on speakerphone (taemin: 9v9 i was so careful not to lose this one………)

the members made him their personal wifi-hotspot

it’s called batterkey (key: *indignant af* i am a persON)

also uses it tho

ot4 also rub balloons on him a lot and they stick bc he’s a lil bit more prone to static electricity than others

but all that static’s gotta go somewhere and he chases them to shock it out (key: YOU MESSED UP MY HAIR!!!!!!! / minho: *stretching out of the window to safety* IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!)

the coolest thing that he’s done was probably literally pulling lightening from the sky during a battle

redirecting that much power was electrifying

it also took a lot out of him and had to be tended to by onew for the next two days to heal his body and soul

BUT a lucky photographer got THE ultimate superhero picture with key glowing with energy and striking down white lightening

and it’s the picture that comes up whenever key’s mentioned in the news and he highkey loves that picture a lot

there were posters made and he totally has one framed in his room

invaluable during blackouts at hospitals bc he pops through (with taemin’s portaling help) and restarts their machinery asap

designed everyone’s costumes

except jong’s bc he tried, he really did but dude turns into a WOLF and putting him into a spandax suit is a no go (jong: how about a cape???? like just a cape / key: NO CAPES)

but you know, sometimes they don’t have time to change into the costumes that, for the record, he spent a LOT of time designing, and they show up to fight villains in sweats and pajamas bc evil has NO respect for key’s brilliant design skills

which is SO rude

has experimented in trying to cook food with his powers

& everything tastes burnt but he keeps trying (onew: let’s just use the stove i cannOT watch you incinERATE our dinner again)

RANT + THOUGHTS ON FINAL LINE UP!

I know people are salty that jonghyun and samuel didn’t get in but what about the other 7 people who didn’t? They deserved it just as much as them, they worked just as hard as them. I’m not saying jonghyun and samuel didn’t deserve it but I think it’s a bit over the top. We should celebrate all of them for all they’ve been through and “WANNA ONE” isn’t permanent in the end so if you look on the bright side the eliminated contestants have an opportunity to work on something permament. PRODUCE 101 gave them a stepping stone to improve, learn and get publicity which is needed sometimes for those in small companies. I mean we wouldn’t of found some of these amazing people without the show 😂😂

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE FINAL LINE UP:

Ha Sungwoon: I didn’t really have my eye on him, but I’m not mad because we is going to provide a solid vocal for the team + he is hella cute and funny but still works hard when he has too 💖💖

Bae Jinyoung: Jinyoung-ah you improved so much from looking to the floor to now slaying (as the centre even) 😂😂 I can’t wait to see you grow and see more of your personality.

Hwang Minhyun: I didn’t really focus alot on Minhyun either, so I don’t have much to say but congratulations on getting in 😭😭 I’m sorry they seperated you from the other pledis trainees 😭😭

Yoon Jisung; ONE OF MY BIASES FROM THE BEGINNING I LITERALLY SCREAMED WHEN HE GOT IN I WAS SO WORRIED 😂😂 But opppaaaa congratulations, you earned it and you finally get to debut (with daniel as well 😂😭😭) THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS TAKING CARE OF YOUR DONGSENGS AND BEING YOURSELF AND NOT LETTING THE HATERS PULL YOU DOWN. Park Jihoon: I’m lowkey he isnt the centre even thought Kang Daniel is my bias RIP ❌ but I’m so happy this perfect child made it in, he is literally made to be an idol. He must’ve had so much pressure being in such high ranks for the whole season but he did it he made it and I can’t wait to see what he has install for us 💖

KANG DANIEL: oh kang daniel how you snatched Kihyun of my ultimate bias status. HOW RUDE.
