MASH and Red Dwarf are sitcom opposites but also the same due to the fact that while both of them are comedies taking place in the midst of tragedy MASH is funnier without the laugh track whereas without the laugh track Red Dwarf becomes a bottomless black hole of existential loneliness and dread

#mash #red dwarf #i think its because 1.#mash happens on a base full of people whereas the crew of red dwarf are extremely isolated #and 2.#in mash theyre making the best of a situation that we know will eventually end #whereas in red dwarf they are actively trying to end their situation and get home and we know they never will #but anyways funney sitcom haha #special thanks to the one season of red dwarf without a laugh track for showing us why its a good thing they usually have one
