alright a realization just HIT ME

SO a lot of scaramouche/wanderer’s backstory has a lot of references to the band Queen’s hit song “Bohemian Rhapsody” RIGHT?????

like they say scaramouche a million times

“any way the wind blows” is a lyric and the title of his character demo

“sometimes wish I’d never been born at all” is ALSO a lyric and he practically says the same thing in his teaser BUT LET ME RAISE YOU THIS LYRIC THAT I JUST NOTICED

“Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me”

Now assuming everyone reading this has done the inazuma archon quest then this random line is ALL TOO SPECIFIC as it mentions EI AKA BEELZEBUB AKA HIS MAMA

as Nahida is Baur, Makoto is Baal, and Venti is Barbatos (all of which are named after demons of hell) EI IS BEELZEBUB

Now, this is too accurate to genshin’s story, but what if we were to take it further?

Should this lyric be taken literally? What kind of “devil” would ei put aside for scara? As for the devil mentioned in the song, a few possibilities arise:

Going off of how ei=Beelzebub Ei is not this devil as she is the one putting it aside ykyk

using all of my brain power my current devil theories are:

Maybe Shakkei Pavilion? That was the first I could think of, but it’s a stretch. Ei did not wish to hand Scaramouche over to the fatui after he was created, so she placed him in Shakkei Pavilion and sealed it up. She literally put it aside for him, but as for why it would be a “devil” it’s unclear

Next thought I had was the Raiden shogun puppet, aka the thing running inazuma on ei’s behalf as she’s in the plane of euthimiya. I tried to keep options ei-specific, but the Raiden puppet makes a bit of sense. The puppet replaced the previous “broken” puppet that was kunikuzuzhi/scaramouche, and the Raiden puppet looks just like ei, whose name at least comes FROM a devil. The Raiden puppet wasn’t put aside for scara but this seems like a more plausible theory!

I KNOW I TRIED TO KEEP THINGS EI-SPECIFIC but for some reason I thought of Dottore??? Ei had nothing to do with Dottore, but he’s the closest to a “devil” with ties to scaramouche that I could think of! THAT’S A STRETCH BUT MAYBE????

in any case I was blasting queen in my ears at 2:00am and noticed this and just HAD to put it out there as sacra’s the only thing I’ve been thinking of for the last few monthssss

But if ANYONE can add to this PLEASE help me I want to know everything about this little puppet man

Going on dates is fun. I never know when is the right time to break it to the person I’m dating my interests are largely restricted to personal characterizations of 7 stupid elves that live in my brain and will likely continue to do so for several more years, if not longer.

We need to talk about Scully’s birthday scene in Tempus Fugit!!! I was a MESS, I couldn’t focus for the rest of the episode!!! Here’s why:

1) Mulder using Scully’s full name in the song

2) the running gag about him remembering her birthday

Edit: @limit-of-heat just reminded me that they thought this could be Scully’s last birthday… and now I’m going to cry, thanks for nothing! Put it into a whole new perspective for me - Mulder is celebrating her birthday for once because he knows he might never get another opportunity…

3) it was so funny!

5) Mulder got her a present!!! And he was soooooo excited to give it to her. (Of course, he was only that happy because it was her though…)
