WIMP: Dani’s Pouch

Hello! Dani, here. 

So to get to know a bit more about the girls/creatures who run this blog, our first few posts will be an introduction of our preferences and part of that would be what we carry along with us on a daily basis in our make-up/essentials pouches. 

I know what you’re thinking...

This seems like a lot, but it’s relatively tame and light in comparison to Shy’s 3 pouch post (which is coming up soon. PREPARE YOURSELVES) I kind of just stuff all of it in there, so it’s easy. To tell you the truth, I forget to re-apply throughout the day, but at least they’re all in there (just in case I remember to). 

So, let’s get to it! (Side note: My pouch was given to me by my lovely ex-officemate, Raffy! Who is a girl FYI.) 

1 | Sea Tree Face Mist (refilled with aloe derma brightening juice) - Great mist for freshening up in the middle of the day. I sometimes spray my neck, because I read somewhere that it helps cool down the rest of the face and calm redness.

2 |  IMPACT Peach Mints - I’m grateful that they didn’t use the impact font for this. Anyways, you never know who you’ll be meeting and if you need to hide the fact that you were scarfing down something fishy or garlic-y beforehand.

3 | BaE eyedrops (That’s what the elements on the bottle read lol) - I stocked up on some Japanese eyedrops when my family went to Tokyo last December. It’s good to have on hand for people with sensitive/ dry eyes. This isn’t the “spicy/minty” version that I’ve come to love, but it’s alright. Not sure why it’s green though.

4 | Roller ball perfume bottle - it’s currently holding philosophy’s pure grace perfume, which makes me feel like a real lady. Mom gave this perfume to me a while back, so I just transferred it to a roller ball for convenience (and so I could finally start using it properly).

5 | Diffuser Bottle with Rubbing Alcohol - For people who are crazy, neat freaks and like to eat with their hands, this proves to be a handy thing to have. 

6) Lioele Quick Point Eraser - For people who rub their eyes, sweat buckets or generally find a way to mess up their make-up a lot throughout the day, this saves you the trouble of struggling to wipe off smudges of eyeliner or lipstick with a tissue. Precision with point.  

7 | Nature Republic Cream Stick Concealer - HIDE THE IMPERFECTIONS. It glides on nicely, and hasn’t irritated any of my spots, so it’s good in my books. 

8 | Nature Republic Brown Eyeliner - Heard from Pony (of the Pony’s make up tutorial fame)  that Nature Republic had decent eye make up, so I gave it a shot and found this works well with my oily lids.

9 |  Fashion21 mini brush set - I’m a sucker for compact/ tiny versions of things. This is good for days I’m wearing a dark lip, as it comes with a lip brush. It also comes with two other brushes (for brows and gel liner), but I use the gel liner one for spot concealing instead.

10 | Landmark Compact Mirror (with breakfast design) - Shy went a little insane at a Landmark store one day, and decide to buy us matching mirrors (among many other matching things). As her best friend, I just roll with it. I love it a lot though because it’s adorable and accurate.

11 | Gatsby oil control sheets (pack of 50) - There’s a strange satisfaction in looking at all the oil that gets picked up by this. Never gets old.

12 | Tony Moly Snail Lip balm - Gotta keep those lips moist in a not-so-icky way. This one was alright, nothing exceptional about it in spite of the “hype” a youtuber had mentioned. It smells a little too fragrant for me, so I’m really just trying to finish this up at this point.

13 | Nichido Peach Nude Lipstick - Double functioning product given by Shy (who thought it was too weirdly orange for her) I use it as blush and a base color for my lips.

14 | “Lip product of the day”  featured here: Missha Line Friends Lip Tint - This tends to change on a daily basis, or is dependent on the event or the people I’m seeing. I do think that this tint is the bomb and Missha needs to make its way to our shores eventually. For a while it was hard to find a salsa/chili/sriracha shade of a tinted lip, so this was an answered prayer.

WIMP: Shy’s Pouch(es)

There are just some things I prefer to carry around in my bag in instead of keeping in my office desk drawer, and I’ve split them into 3 because I don’t always need to take them all out at the same time. I prefer segregated items in small pouches rather than one big one with everything inside that’s why this one’s going to be a pretty long post :>

A. Lipstick Pouch I always carry 4 shades of lipsticks to work everyday. 

3 are my main everyday shades and 1 is a back up one (usually a darker shade) just in case I feel like changing my lip color during the day or if I suddenly have a dinner out. This pouch is the one I bring to the washroom with me for my usual touch ups. (Watermelon slice pouch from Landmark)

1. Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Clay Crush - My current main lip color. I am so in love with this that I’m close to using it all up. Bless you Maybelline.

2. Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Toast of New York - Another main/favorite lip color cuz I’m such a sucker for warm shades. I apply this to the center of my lips with Clay Crush as my base color and that’s how I wear it everyday. 3. Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Dusk - A warm red shade that’s darker than Toast of New York. I use this when I feel like wearing a slightly darker lip. This one is the one that I usually change depending on my mood while the rest remain in my pouch. 4. FS Nude Lipstick in Honey Beige - My lightest nude shade that I use to lighten the rest of my lip shades when needed. I only use a tiny bit of this so it lasts me for a pretty long time. 

5. Landmark Compact Mirror (Duckie design) - Cuz like what Dani said, I went a little crazy in Landmark. I love this mirror not just cuz of the ducks but because it can stay open but folded and not like my old one that bends all the way back. 

 B. Essentials Pouch  The pouch that I take out when I need to do some major retouch like my brows or the “Just in case of emergency” items. I realized I didn’t have alcohol here but that’s because I keep that in my bag instead.

1. IN2IT Waterproof Eyebrow Powder - My ultimate HG Eyebrow makeup. I love this product to bits and I’ve been using it for years. I carry this around in case I need to touch up my brows and it also doubles up as eye makeup, (Shadow or Liner) just in case. 

2. FS Eyebrow Travel Eyebrow Brush - For applying my eyebrow makeup & eyeliner. I really like this one because it works perfectly with my eyebrow powder and it has a cap that keeps it clean.

3. Flormar Full Coverage Concealer - For touch ups. This one has been my go to concealer and is one of the best ones I’ve used. The packaging also has a tiny mirror on the cover so that makes it very convenient to carry around.  4. FS Travel Mini Eyeliner brush - No I don’t use this to line my eyes but instead to apply my concealer because it’s small and compact and I hate carrying around huge brushes. The brush is small enough to apply concealer on my small pimple scars, it’s perfect. 5. Nichido Tinted Eyebrow Mascara - My HG eyebrow mascara because it’s affordable and has just enough pigment to tint my brows but not turn them completely weirdly brown. I don’t bring this with me all the time though because sometimes I’m good with not wearing any. :D 6. Roller Ball Perfume Bottle - Currently holding my Armani Si perfume which is a pretty strong scent that’s why it’s perfect to have it in a small roller ball bottle so you can apply just a small amount on your wrists and neck without having to spray it and suffocate everyone else. 7. The Face Shop hand cream in Berry Mix - To keep my hands moisturized cuz they get a bit dry sometimes and I hate that feeling. It feels dirty. I like the smell of this one but I might get a different brand in the future because this one isn’t as moisturizing and can actually feel a tiny bit sandy sometimes. 8. Watson’s Mini Wet Wipes in Oceanic Scent - This one is very important. It’s small and easy to carry around, perfect for emergencies and it’s not obvious at all when you carry it with you to the toilet cuz you can just keep it in your pocket. The size of the wipe itself is perfect. Ehe. 9. Feminine Essentials - Just like Dani’s cuz we’re ladies. Emergencies happen. 

C. The First Aid Pouch I’ve experienced a couple of emergencies recently, mostly involving other people hurting themselves , so I decided to finally fix up my own first aid kit. This one’s a thin cute strawberry pouch that’s small enough to fit in almost any bag so you can carry it around and it also has a small keychain or hook so you can easily hang it on your strap in case you’re wearing a really small bag. Safety first friends.   I got this from Landmark. Again. (Someone stop me.) 

1. Biogesic, Mefenamic & Claritin - For headaches and body pain. (haha). For claritin, I have asthma and a very sensitive nose so I really need this with me all the time so I don’t end up with an itchy and runny nose or suddenly get a bronchospasm =)) 2. Calamine Zinc Oxide - I placed this one in another roller ball bottle for easier application. I tend to get itchy bumps a lot and this one’s really effective in calming them down. Also for when I feel like i’m growing a new pimple on my face, sometimes it actually prevents them from continuing. Even my mom loves this stuff. 3. White Flower - I just love having this around cuz I love the smell and it helps me relax. 4. Watson’s Band Aids - The quality of these are really good because they’re thin and they really stays in place. I have one in the regular size and a big one for the back of my feet in case my shoes hurt and may potentially give me blisters.  5. Scissors - I found this adorable tiny pair of scissors and decided to keep it here. Exta: I also plan to have a tiny bottle of Betadine here as well. I just haven’t done so.
