the hunger games: the battle of the gays & allies [woso] | episode one

prompt: the hunger games but woso style

author notes: this is another bullshit post but like i actually put some effort into it ☝🏽🤓 okay so basically i used a hunger games simulator and put 12 woso bestie duos into so now imma just talk about the results in fic style with this being about day one and night one of the simulator then I'll do the others in lil episodes. this is the most stupid thing i have ever posted but still! enjoy it y'all, don't take anything too serious 💗

HOW THIS WORKS ────── DISTRICTS

okay, so basically in the hunger games districts are like where the tributes live or whatever like they are like states, but in my version the districts are just teams. each team sends out a duo to go and win the hunger games which is like a tournament. some of these teams are club but others are national. let's just act like the whole "tournament" is just for funsies and the girlies are just acting really really good. there are two teams from the d1 french league, two from the nwsl, four from the wsl, one from the liga mx femenil, one from the liga f, and two national teams.

barcelona [district one]: alexia & mapi

chelsea [district two]: sam & millie

gotham [district three]: lynn & kelley

west ham united [district four]: katrina & mackenzie

arsenal [district five]: leah & lia

lyon [district six]: lindsey & danielle

engwnt [district seven]: alessia & ella

uswnt [district eight]: trinity & ashley

man city [district nine]: alanna & mary

psg [district ten]: elisa & sakina

angel city [district eleven]: ali & alyssa

tigres [district twelve]: fernanda & jenni

DAY ONE: welcome to the hunger games!

it's day one of the tournament. all tributes are getting ready to be released out onto the grounds, ready for eleven days or less of pure survival. all of the best friends duos are saying their last words before they become the equivalent of frenemies out on the field. let's go check up on some of them!

firstly, we have alexia and mapi from the barcelona district. great friends, an iconic duo amongst fans. alexia is very focused on scouting out the land as best as she can from the little window provided in the rooms tributes are held in. meanwhile mapi is laying on the ground, throwing a ball at the wall and laughing once it comes back down almost hitting her. maybe it's like a distraction? we'll never know.

now we move onto trinity and ashley who are cuddling together for the last time. these two seem very close, making jokes and all before they have to basically fight to survive out there amongst everyone else.

our last checkup is going to be on katrina and mackenzie. we have katrina trying to make a plan on how she is going to survive since she wants to get out and be there for her daughter harper (who will be cheering her on the whole tournament) & her baby boy is on the way. mackenzie seems to be trying to help, but keeps cracking jokes or chewing on the complimentary snacks we left in the tributes rooms.

then finally all of the tributes are released! let's the games begin. alexia is coming in strong with the spainard scoring a bar mace from inside of the cornucopia before running off with her new treasure. her fellow district one tribute mapi finds a bag of food easily without struggle. going off into a direction opposite of alexia's. seems like the two do not plan to become an alliance during this tournament. sam and millie dash to the same bag of food & supplies, but millie somehow gets scared of sam despite her size and flees. leaving sam with the bag while millie will have to scavenge for her needs.

lynn breaks kelley's nose over a basket of bread. those two aren't getting along that well it seems. with a broken nose kelley is left without any food, having to run off to get away from lynn's violence. the planned out katrina rips a bag from mackenzie's hands the moment they both reach the cornucopia. leah from district five easily finds a bag of food. holding onto it tightly before running away to find somewhere to hide it. for some reason lia grabs a bottle of alcohol, maybe to drown out her pain? and also is able to get a blade that will be useful later on.

lindsey immediately kills her fellow district six tribute danielle with a hatchet she finds. she overpowers the smaller danielle and stabs her in the heart, leaving dani on the ground before moving on to somewhere else. she took care of the predicament that would trouble her later on the tournament; whether to kill her fellow tribute or let danielle kill her? lindsey picked the former. alessia finds a bag full of camping equipment which will be useful for the long nights on the grounds. meanwhile her bestie ella takes a few explosives from the cornucopia. keeping them for safe keeping.

trinity gathers as much food as she can before going off into the forest. ashley grabs supplies furthest away from the cornucopia before escaping away into the forest as well without anyone seeing or catching her. maybe they'll stick together inside of there. the district nine tribute alanna thinks about grabbing something, but doesn't. running off to get away from the violence near the cornucopia. her fellow tribute mary tries to go for an axe, but elisa goes from it as well. mary decides to take the hint and retreats quickly. sakina seems to want to be katniss part two and gets arrows from the cornucopia, but no bow unfortunately.

ali grabs some handy throwing knives and retreats away from everyone else. her younger fellow tribute alyssa grabs a sickle while fernanda from district twelve gets a slingshot which won't do much against the other weapons in this tournament, but the effort is appreciated.

jenni focuses on supplies and gets a first aid kit instead of a weapon. running off somewhere that will hopefully be as safe as a place can be in this tournament.

mapi tries to betray her bestfriend alexia by sneaking up on her, but alexia is too smart and catches her in on the act. killing her easily. the spainard's first kill of someone from her own district, joining lindsey in figuring out the dreaded choice.

while people are dying, sam is chilling around practicing her knife throwing & archery. she does this by throwing knives at trees farther and farther away from her before using a bow & arrow she made from using her knife to carve out wood from a tree. meanwhile millie searches for food since sam took the bag of food from her.

lynn injures herself near the lake after tripping over a log. thankfully it's not an acl injury, but her knee does hurt. kelley has bandaged up her nose using leaves, moving onto searching for water & firewood. katrina and mackenzie get over their little fight earlier, creating a fort out of sticks & leaves which might not hold up under weather but is okay for the night. leah steals water and food from her own fellow tribute lia while lia isn't looking.

lindsey makes a wooden spear from tree branches to protect herself. alessia and ella decide to not go against each other. forming an alliance that will benefit both the whole tournament. trinity's loyalty is not as stable as once thought as she steals food & water from ashley while ashley isn't looking. sneaking back off into the further parts of the forest afterwards. alanna sees smoke rising in the distance of the west and wonders who did it, but refuses to investigate. mary works alongside district ten's elisa just for the day.

sakina finds her a water source that can support her throughout the tournament. setting up camp there as best as she can. ali runs away from her fellow tribute alyssa. leaving the youngster to fend for herself. fernanda also practices her knife throwing and archery. while jenni has a mini panic attack over the situation she's in.

NIGHT ONE: it's getting chilly

alexia passes out from pure exhaustion and the guilt of having to kill her bestfriend. sam questions her sanity, why would she choose to do this? while these two have their mid life crisis; millie, lynn, and kelley are all fighting but millie is quickly becoming more and more aggressive. lynn runs off out of fear while kelley is killed by millie. the district two tribute overpowers kelley and strangles her to death.

katrina cries herself to sleep while thinking of her children and fiancee. curling up into a ball in that little fort of branches and leaves. mackenzie was able to find and hunt a rabbit earlier. now she's cooking it on a fire she built. leah tries to speak but keeps waking up because of nightmares terrorizing her. eventually she is able to doze off but feels unsettled. while leah is fighting for her life mentally, her fellow tribute lia gets a five course gourmet meal from an unknown sponsor in the middle of the night; seems like someone is trying to help her out in this tournament. perhaps her lover? we'll never know.

lindsey also received something from an unknown sponsor in the middle of the night; clean water. she uses some of this water to drink and saves the rest for tomorrow. alessia and ella create a fort to sleep in for the night. cracking jokes while they try to drift off. they are still happily close and are enjoying their alliance. trinity, ashley, alanna, and mary all joke with each other over a fire. they are getting along well, but this is still an competition so they don't expect them to stay friendly. elisa and sakina decide to support eachother by making a peace treaty to ride out the night.

an unknown sponsor sends ali clean water. she uses half to drink and saves the rest. lacking a water source near her, she needed this. alyssa stays awake all night on pure adrenaline. holding herself in a ball while rocking back and forth. too scared to try to sleep. fernanda convinces jenni to snuggle with her for the night.

and that's the end for today! episode two will be out tomorrow, we'll see how our tributes survive the next day. rest in peace to lyon's danielle [killed by her fellow district tribute lindsey], barcelona's mapi [killed by her fellow district tribute alexia], and gotham's kelley [killed by district two's millie]. they will be sent back to their districts by tomorrow.

Shockingly I've barely thought about the finale because I'm still reeling from last week, but just for my own head I wanted to lay out what the show basically must address/resolve in the final episode. Here is what I have come up with (with my added commentary for reasons):

obviously the big question is: Is Ted going back to Kansas? Personally I think yes. The side question, but for me the more puzzling of the two is: Will Beard go with him?

if Ted does leave, Richmond will have to be left in someone else's hands. I would hope we see Roy becoming manager?

the other big ticket item is Nate's return to Richmond and the apology moment between Nate and Ted. Which I am so very much looking forward to.

West Ham workplace allegations and Bex & Rupert's old secretary whose name I don't remember showing up at Rebecca's (presumably...an iconic Rupert takedown in the works!!!)

Roy/Keeley "I don't want to just be friends" interrupted moment. I personally fell they also have to address the Jamie factor of it all at this point, like I genuinely don't see a way around it that wouldn't feel weird after the events of Mom City? But perhaps that is only the shipper in me.

Rebecca's psychic plot...the one point we still need addressed is the "You'll have a family...you're going to be a mother" prediction right?

obviously the game itself between Richmond and West Ham and Richmond winning or not winning the league (If this is the last season, which feels 90% probable but hey they are still being weird about it...they had better win even though I think it's stupidly unrealistic, although technically possibly. If the show comes through (clown time) with a s4...I want them to come close but ultimately lose.)

Also here's some bonus things I feel very strongly should be addressed but I think it's semi-likely they just won't bring up if they're being lazy about it:

Beard/Jane DIVORCE (read: breakup)

Michael reappearance. I'd like him watching the match and then kissing his fella after their win please :)

status of the Michelle and the Dr. Jacob relationship. I guess they don't actually have to address this but the whole relationship is so questionable and I think an end to it would be good.

...Do we think they can fit all of this into an hour/hour and a half episode???
