As sad as this scene is, I think it’s so great that Wade isn’t remotely afraid of Ember here. It looks like he does take half a step back but you can see in his face he doesn’t even flinch at her anger. That’s so important because it shows that even though Ember’s anger can absolutely be dangerous, he still won’t take it lying down and he still has faith that she won’t actually hurt him.
