I tried to make some game fankids but I have no idea if I wanna cross over game stuff into my animeverse so those kids have a + infront of those ships. Also there is a * next to kids that were born in/spent most of their lives in Onishima.

Kira and I discuss Crackverse!Brendan, Lucas, and Marley for an hour, for any interested parties:

(12:12:46 AM) Lyra: So you said start with Brendan. I don't know what to headcanon about Brendan

(12:13:22 AM) Kira: What's his training method with Pokemon?

(12:13:38 AM) Kira: does he have anything special he tends to do that the others find odd/weird/don't do?

(12:15:02 AM) Lyra: hahaa only that he's full scale coordinator

(12:15:17 AM) Lyra: so he praises for beauty and considers it and strength to be synonymous

(12:16:09 AM) Lyra: which is why everyone's like u so gay

(12:16:58 AM) Kira: So he takes care to make sure his Pokemon not only are at their strongest/encourages them to be as strong as they can, but he makes their appearances match as well?

(12:19:19 AM) Lyra: more like he pushes them to have really good control of their attacks

(12:19:36 AM) Lyra: so they do everything really beautifully with really high precision

(12:23:14 AM) Kira: Do you think his emphasis on making the timing and control of his Pokemon's attacks actually helps in battle too? Like, do his Pokemon's attacks tend to hit just a little more accurately than someone who hasn't worked with them the way he has?

(12:27:38 AM) Kira: Where does he stand in his relationships towards the other trainers?

(12:28:16 AM) Kira: are there trainers he really can't stand (Ethan), or are there those he'd really like to get to know a little better/really gets along great with?

(12:29:15 AM) Lyra: really his problem tends to be with wishy-washy people or with introverts. He doesn't know what to do with people who are quiet or who don't seem to hold their ground/know what they want

(12:29:36 AM) Kira: How does he try and handle the introverts?

(12:29:47 AM) Lyra: he just ignores them

(12:30:01 AM) Lyra: like Wally. he ignores the fuck out of Wally.

(12:30:20 AM) Lyra: He ignored Lucas for a while, then tried to take him under his wing because since they were sharing a room there was only so much ignoring he could do

(12:30:47 AM) Lyra: and then that didn't work so well either so finally he just organized the room switch

(12:31:18 AM) Lyra: mostly because he mistook Lucas for being a coordintor, because in all fairness Lucas mistook Lucas for being a coordinator

(12:31:57 AM) Lyra: but Lucas is the kind of person whose pokemon evolve early and shit because they trust the fuck out of him. Like I would put him second only to Red in that.

(12:32:21 AM) Lyra: as a result they tend to not know how to handle their power, so he can battle well-ish but can't coordinate worht a fuck

(12:33:30 AM) Kira: That's cool, let's move on to Lucas next since I always tend to forget that poor guy

(12:34:05 AM) Kira: What do you have developed for Lucas?

(12:39:17 AM) Lyra: Lucas was just born in the wrong region, poor guy

(12:40:07 AM) Lyra: Sinnoh has always been far more about coordinating than battling. I suspect it's because of the climate; indoor activities are encouraged, and so smaller controlled explosions etc > BIG FUCKING BOOMS

(12:40:48 AM) Lyra: so he grew up in a town where his best friends were the son of the tower tycoon and the daughter of one of the most award winning coordinators...

(12:41:53 AM) Lyra: and frankly Barry kicked his ass at any of their early battle attempts, and he was fond of making poffins and such, and honestly had a crush on Dawn, so he leaned toward coordinating to try to impress her

(12:42:19 AM) Lyra: but he sucks at it. I mean, he's won ribbons, so he's better than average still, but he's not top coordinator material.

(12:43:06 AM) Lyra: and his Infernape had already evolved all the way long before Barry's Staraptor evolved, if that gives you any hint of how good he actually is at bringing out his pokemon's growth

(12:43:21 AM) Lyra: thing is,he only sees himself as in people's shadows.

(12:44:50 AM) Lyra: his parents are nobodies. He's a lousy coordinator and he's still on the fence about giving it up to be an actual trainer. Barry had a head start there, and he's been around Red and Ethan and so on for a while... he doesn't think he can live up to that.

(12:45:42 AM) Lyra: ultimately I see him becoming a breeder or a professor, but he still doesn't quite understand that just because you're not meant for the spotlight doesn't mean you're not great

(12:46:24 AM) Lyra: losing Dawn to Barry, over what he presumes is his own slowness to get to the sack, kind of set him back down a few notches too

(12:46:33 AM) Kira: D: awww

(12:46:37 AM) Kira: does he find a new love?

(12:47:53 AM) Lyra: Marley

(12:48:07 AM) Lyra: who kind of ultimately is the one who teaches him that it's okay to be an introvert

(12:48:42 AM) Kira: Awww! That would be a really cute pairing, when do they start seeing each other/how do they meet?

(12:52:03 AM) Lyra: Lucas heads back to Sinnoh to do some soul searching some time after it becomes clear Dawn and Barry are official and the room switch that puts him in with Ethan happens. a bit after That Christmas Party I imagine.

(12:52:35 AM) Lyra: she's following the Shaymin, as per her plot in the games, and ropes him along

(12:53:15 AM) Lyra: he's got nothing better to do so he follows her. for two weeks, they kick around Sinnoh looking for the flower garden

(12:54:11 AM) Lyra: when they finally find it, there's a stupidly adorable scene that basically amounts to her saying "by the way you have a cute hat" as an excuse to kiss him, and they nearly have sex in the middle of the flower garden.

(12:55:36 AM) Lyra: he panics, so they don't actually, but it happens before he heads back to Indigo. She kind of materializes at the house a couple weeks later, won't speak but a word or two to anyone else (there's a joke about Red and her understanding each other), and convinces him to help her with some sort of research she's doing.

(12:57:16 AM) Kira: Marley and Red having Silent Communication

(12:57:24 AM) Kira: I bet that goes over well with everyone XD

(12:57:54 AM) Kira: Maybe the effects on the Gradecia flower on Shaymin/why they're attracted to it, etc?

(1:00:47 AM) Lyra: maybe. Definitely she's someone who follows in Cynthia's footsteps research wise. The myths.

(1:01:12 AM) Kira: That's epic, and Shaymin sound like a good, relatively safe place to start out

(1:01:20 AM) Kira: Does Lucas get interested in the myths too?

(1:01:58 AM) Lyra: not really, but he gets interested in her passion for them

(1:03:16 AM) Lyra: and I think to some extent he sees that connection to Cynthia in her and sort of wonders how this quiet girl with no badges, no intent to get them, and frankly fairly weak pokemon who are there only to protect her on her travels, can have that sort of aura. Like, she teaches him that it's okay to not be in the spotlight, especially when he realizes she's getting zero recognition for her research

(1:03:52 AM) Kira: That she's not getting recognized for all her hard work?

(1:05:52 AM) Lyra: well, she's not really doing anything with what she finds out

(1:06:08 AM) Lyra: she's recording it all, but it's not getting published and probably own't for some time

(1:06:56 AM) Lyra: she's doing it for her own satisfaction, and running errands, like delivering packages or pokemon, to make money to keep her afloat. no one's stealing her credit, she's just not doing it for credit

(1:10:50 AM) Kira: for her, it's like the process and discovery are the important parts

(1:22:28 AM) Kira: Does Cynthia ever pick up on any of it/give her leads?
