Cassian and water things to do with how he died (water, awareness, miscellaneous, falling)
All of this is from memory so im not sure if its accurate. Either way its fun to think about! If i remember correctly he fell/got thrown off (idr remember) a cliff into the ocean.
*water may also refer to relevent liquids in general
Cassian is afraid of being submerged in water. He may be uncomfortable depending on the amount of water hes in and how deep it is and stuff like that but being fully submerged is immediate panic. On bad days he tries to avoid water all together. (This becomes a problem to stay hydrated) A lot of the times, not being able to easily touch the bottom with his head still sticking out also causes panic. The exception is very good days and even then he struggles a lot. Baths are a no. He spends minimal time if hes in a place that could hold water, depending on how much it could hold and his mood. Ex. If hes having a shower on a bad day in a bathtub like in a hotel or smtg, he wouldnt spend a lot of time other then absolute nessecary to make sure hes clean. (This might just be me projecting how easy it is for me to overthink things.) If hes say, in a place that could flood like a flood prone basement and its raining, he would get the heck out immediately if theres nothing urgent to do there.
Oh! And other aspects other than just bodies of water. He wont drink salty drinks. The ocean and wave sounds make him antsy. He hates the smell and taste of super salty stuff, esp ones that remind him of the ocean. He stays away from edges near water. He gets extra cautious near cliffs. He tends to keep an eye out for possible vantage points for snipers. Hes overall more paranoid and vigilant.
Another thing is falling. Its an iffy thing where sometimes it doesnt affect him, sometimes he can barely stand losing his balance. Its quite random but for the most part hes fine. Like he could fall down the stairs and feel mentally completely fine but sometimes he'd stumble a bit and feel out of breath from a moment of panic/expecting something to go wrong. The first time it happened he just stood there shocked for a bit.
Alternatively: he would subconsciously pick and choose certain things he'd still do above, but he would unknowingly for a while ignore the rest even if he feels like he should do it. Ex. He might still feel breathless from tripping or avoid salty drinks, one bc its unnavoidable and another bc its a more obvious point of memory (subconscious things are also unavoidable mostly), but ignore any discomfort from edges and stuff and so not being as careful as he would if he acknowledged the discomfort. He doesnt even realise he does it at all for a while, it just sorta happens. (I am probably projecting here)
Ehm before i forget, suffocation is kinda similar to drowning right? (Not really but i think it works) so he positions himself in a way where nothing would be covering his breathing on bad days. (This is more like a 'dont forget this!!!' For me... i think itll be interesting to think about how certain habits and actions would change after and comparing suffocation to drowning, overall i think it might not have as big an impact as other lasting effects)
I want to talk about how like the attacks and seeing jeff die and other stuff may affect him but i havent even fully formed those thoughts yet.
Ugh i also want to talk about temperature and other stuff but i am tired now. So this is more like a to think about list!

Alright so did this little doodle based on a convo abt birds on the vtk discord. Lo and behold: Phoenix Cassian
I'm probably stealing someone's idea (alright, just consider this as fanart for that idea if im stealing it please bc i want to make this into a blown out au)
Some ideas:
He's changes eye colour as a phoenix to his villain form so say bye bye to different coloured eyes. His eyes in his villain form sometimes look like fire whilst as a phoenix, his eyes is just blue.
Fire is different as well, it being more powerful as a phoenix because, well you know.
Cassian automatically transforms into a phoenix whenever he's badly hurt whether he likes to or not.
Is able to grow wings as a villain but it proves to waste mana as other skills are much easier.
Practically unable to use his darkness attribute as a phoenix. As a villain, his fire is the same as from when he was a psyker.
Found it extremely difficult to start flying as a phoenix at first so he mostly hops around as a phoenix. He's able to fly but he just hops around because of habit ig.
Only a small amount of people knows he can turn into a phoenix.
He's also able to turn into a phoenix as a civilian/gangu. Yuri could turn into a bird too. Just think of it as their family secret.

Ijin Yu and Cassian Lee when in a relationship headcanons.
Ijin Yu-
100/10 best boyfriend, let me just throw that out right away. Good luck getting to that stage though, the dude got suspicious of girls asking for his number. You're gonna have a hell of a time getting past his walls but it's so worth it.
He has little to no romantic experiences due to his childhood but he's a very quick learner and very perceptive. He can act a little awkward at times but he'll slowly grow into it with time.
His love language would almost definitely be Acts of Service. Ijin is a quiet man and he's much more comfortable showing his affection through doing things for you.
You're having a problem with someone? No, you don't. The second Ijin realizes someone is targeting you or bullying you, you won't have to worry about it anymore. If you ask him to let you handle it yourself, he'll step back but the second things turn dicey, he's stepping back in the ring and ending it. Nobody fucks with this man's SO without getting some bones broken.
Besides that, you can expect him to bring you snacks and drinks every now and again. We've all seen he has some food insecurity and I can definitely see that bleeding into his actions. One of his favorite services acts is cooking for you. He would gladly cook for you every night if you let him.
You'll know the relationship is getting serious when he gives you a key to his and his family's apartment. His family is the most important thing in the world to him; once you have unlimited access to his apartment- and them by extention- that's when you know he trusts you full-heartedly.
Intimacy is going to be especially hard for the two of you. He's never been vulnerable with anyone before- he has walls built on walls. He's always tense and ready for anything to happen; to let all those walls down and expose himself to you is going to be HARD for him. You'll have to be really patient. It's not that he's not attracted to you, he just really struggles with this stuff.
When it does happen, he'll be unsure and shy. He won't hide it during this time and will basically lay his soul out in front of you. Sex isn't going to be a once a day occurrence with you two, but when it does happen it's absolutely magical. He's a generous lover.
Cassian Lee-
So, to start with, I'm going to do Gangu!Cassian as he is the one we know most about. Cassian is very loyal, very sweet, he's also best boyfriend 100/10. Gangu!Cassian would be hard to get into a relationship with; his whole attention is on getting revenge on Lampas. You want a relationship with him? You're gonna have to make the first move. Even then, he'll be hesitant- not because he doesn't like you but because he doesn't want to drag you into his mess.
He had experience dating before when he was a psyker but not so much recently. He'll be a little unsure at first but after the first date, he'll find his footing.
His love language is Quality Time/Gifts. He wants to be with you, whether it's you hanging out while he's working out or the two of you going out to do some errands together. His favorite part of the day is when he finally gets to see you. No talking is necessary, he just wants to be near you. On days he can't see you for one reason or another, he'll leave you little gifts- these can range from something he saw you looking at in the store to something he saw that made him think of you.
Depending on whether you know he's a villain or not, you guys might not see each other a whole lot. During the time you don't know he's the vilzone boss, he'll be gone a lot but he'll always have a reason ready. That being said, it can be hard to not be suspicious with how often he disappears.
If you didn't know from the start, you'll probably find out who he is by accident one day. Whether by him saving you from something or someone- or by just drawing the dots together yourself. In any case, when you confront him, he won't deny it. He'll explain himself and will apologize for keeping it from you then ask if you still want to be together. He won't blame you if you say no but it'll make him really unhappy.
Depending on if Yuri is still around, he might ask you to move in with him. You can take that as your que that the relationship is starting to get serious. Cassian is a bit cliché when it comes to dating so he might even get you a promise ring to give you when he asks you to move in. Quite frankly, it's adorable.
Intimacy comes naturally to you two. He's a very straightforward man and will tell you straight up that he wants you when he's ready to have sex. He will come onto you but will back off immediately if you look uncomfortable or if you tell him to. He absolutely will not pressure you into something you're not ready for.
Once you are ready, however, Cassian will be gentle and slow. He's careful with you; the absolute last thing he wants to do is lose control and hurt you with his extreme strength. Once he grows confident that he won't break you, he'll start to experiment with his speed and strength. He'll give you a safe word to use just in case, though. He's definitely a thoughtful lover.

Cassian and breathing
He doesnt like having trouble breathing, which would probably be a problem if he lights something on fire and it keeps going until theres a lot of smoke(ofc depending on how magic fire works ig??). He would've absolutely hate things like the lockdown period with the masks and all. He's careful to always turn his head if hes gonna lie flat on his stomach and put his head on a pillow or something, as opposed to how people stuff their faces in pillows after a long day.
I think the above would be more like a subconscious thing, he wouldnt really notice it bc he has other things to focus on and its not that much of a difference than normal behaviour.
Not a lot to be said here.
