Dean grabbed his pillow, pressed it against his face and screamed.

There was a lot to scream about; he had been sleeping in a rickety wooden bed for the past 3 days, in a barely air conditioned cabin that kept giving him splinters. He wasn't used to this! He worked in a big grey skyscraper, not a quaint farm house. But he was fine with all that, fine with the company forcing him on this trip, and fine with the barn mice skittering around. What he couldn't handle was his roommate. Barnmate? Whatever.

Stepping off the plane, he learned about Rodger. Mostly because was eating some of the people arriving from the city. The company really should've looked more into his host, but now his emails fall on deaf ears and form responses. Rodger fucking infuriated Dean. His dumb accent, that piece of straw that never left his lips, the hat that covered his fluffy head of hair, the overalls with no shirt combo, leaving his strong arms and the obvious outline of his firm torso exposed-

Dean turned over to his side, blushing. He was supposed to be straight. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, but he just- wasn't! When he thought about saying it out loud, he knew it sounded silly. What reason was there to deny this part of himself? Sighing, he turned onto his back again. He had this train of thought almost every night here, (so 3 nights,) but once he woke up, he still acted the same. What was he supposed to do? Realize a part of him that he repressed for his entire life and admit that Rodger was right?

That was another problem; Rodger was such an asshole. In reality, probably not, he was just a naturally angry short person. It was a real chicken or the egg situation; he didn't want to admit he liked boys because Rodger knew and teased him, but he only teased the little shit because he didn't want to admit it.

It wasn't all bad, Dean thought to himself. If anything, at least he got to be teased by a country boy with sharp teeth twice his height.

(a little writing drabble i made of @vorey-arts boys, cause i dont have the tools to draw currently, and internalized homophobia is my favorite story trope (even if i cant write it well hehe))
