Stellar [Japanese Ver.]
Written for Vocallective’s stellar album.
Starlit, hopeful, and longing for salvation.
Yet again
I set my dreams adrift
Upon the shining
Star-clad skies
Inside the
Glittering darkness
Of the frozen midnight
Is a place with no distinction
Between dream and reality
Into it is where I
Embark on this voyage
Drifting away in a broken milky way
My heart takes on the colour of nightmares
Overflowing, blooming ever proudly
And dyeing my nightly skies
I am drowning within the deep night
In a waltz of expectations
Yet unable to grasp the light
To flare up my waning feelings
If there is any hope in this universe
Whose cannot be seen
Then is it alright for me to desire and pursue
such a dim, pale light?
Praying as I gaze upon the constellations
I entrust my eyes to the moon
So that even these spirals of oblivion
May be washed away by the stars
Ever transient,
Like the blink of an eye
The star clusters
That thaw alongside
The lights and shades of the heavens
Are my paradise
I am drowning within the deep night
In a waltz of expectations
Yet unable to grasp the light
To flare up my waning feelings
When the moonlight adorning the breaking down
Shines upon my soul
These fluttering mysteries that dwell in my bosom
Will turn into starlight
If there is any salvation for me in this universe
Whose end cannot be seen
Then is it alright for me to try to cross
Its dark abyss, made of my own fears?
Praying as I gaze upon the constellations
I entrust my eyes to the moon
So that even these spirals of oblivion
May be washed away by the stars
If there is any light in this universe
Whose end cannot be seen
Then is it alright for such a splendid, bright future
To be received by me?
Praying as I gaze upon the constellations
I entrust my eyes to the moon
So that even these spirals of oblivion
May be washed away by the stars
Yet again
I set my dreams adrift
Upon the shining
Star-clad skies

I've been meaning to grab a bunch of these vocallective albums when they were listed in past bundles...
Time to sift through the list later and pick some.

We’re More of Ourselves When We’re in Tune with Others - Issue 74: Networks
blog tumbling : When musicians have chemistry, we can feel it. There’s something special among them that’s missing when they perform alone. Anyone who’s heard a Mick Jagger solo album knows that’s the case. Clearly nature wants us to jam together and take flight out of our individual selves. The reward is transcendence, our bodies tell us so. What’s the secret of that chemistry?
It’s a question that one of the most refreshing neuroscientists who studies music has been probing lately. Refreshing because her lab is not only in academia but also on stage, where she performs as an opera singer and with chamber ensembles. Talking to Indre Viskontas is a treat because she animates her research as a scientist with her experiences as an artist. She breaks down the symphony of brain activity in the language of singing lessons and rehearsals.
In a recent interview, as Viskontas and I delve into the chemistry among performers, and the brain circuitry behind it, it becomes clear we’re talking about more than music. The qualities that make a great band, she is saying, represent a harmony in all of us, waiting for expression.IN SYNC: Indre Viskontas (center) sings with the ensemble, Vocallective, during a series of experiments…
