“Rory.”
Something snaps into place, clicks together like puzzle pieces, or maybe more like Legos. A multi-dimensional picture sharpening, brightening, solidifying inside of her—two sets of memories existing alongside each other. All at once.
Click.
“Hey, kid, wake up.”
Her eyes open, and her surroundings come into focus: the living room at home, and Lorelai hovering over her, grinning.
“Come on,” she whispers.
Rory doesn’t think she’s really awake yet.
“Where are we going?” she asks.
This is familiar, but she can’t place it.
“We’re going to get married.”
Oh.
Oh.
It’s the final chapter! We’ve got: weddings, dancing, deep conversations, champagne, a horse drawn carriage, putting on a show for the neighbors, and, at long last, a little resolution. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

It’s embarrassing, but it’s not even his face she recognizes first. He’s turning to look over his shoulder, back into the kitchen, and one hand is curled around the edge of the door frame, so she can only see his fingers, and his wrist, and the line of his neck, and where his hair curls behind his ear and around his collar. And all of this is more than enough to set her skin prickling, her heart racing. She nearly drops her glass.
Jess isn’t ready for anything serious. Rory isn’t interested in anyone but Jess. Complications—and heartbreak—are inevitable.
