(Norwegian below) Noemata Established in 2000, dating back to the 1980s1, Noemata is a production site for netbased and digital expressions, tracing borders and forms of negation, the impossible and without representation, the formless, marginal, abject, procedural, virtual, unstable, and precarious. Noemata arranges the irregular x-ennial Leap Second Festival, lasting one second, last time in 2016/2017 with 140 participants. The festival is proven not to exist.2 Noemata don't know what they're doing.3 They honestly don't do anything (other than putting things in brackets4). But it's a sad thing to do nothing. Nobody benefits from it. But if one doesn't _do_ nothing, one will _achieve_ nothing, and then one is beyond both art and life. Art is pretentious bullshit5, while life and death are fatally indifferent.6 What can a poor soul do? Electronic Art in Norway is a man hitting cars with a laptop computer in the middle of the highway.7 Getting drunk and posting shit.8 If anyone understands this correctly it's like a big void without obstacles or boundaries. What can then go wrong. You can run like a buck down the mountain side or roll on the floor laughing out loud. Autumn and winter 2017/18 we're occupied with, among other things, Aphantasia - a theorization and call for blockchain as a medium for a blind and invisible art (collaboration with Furtherfield and Torque (UK)). Top Manta - Post-internet, flea market, national pavilion and precarity (cooperation with Transeuropa (EU), Yami-Ichi/IDPW (JP), The Inaugural International Autonomous Biennale @ The Research Pavilion, Venice (IT)). Scripting the Other - The internet as a living language of the Other (collaboration with The Wrong Biennal (ES)). 60+ Leap - screening in public space of 1min & 1sec movies (collaboration with 60sec Festival (DK)). One doesn't know what one's dealing with, or of the notion of thought in general. 4 Epoché is a process whereby one ignores assumptions in order to approach an phenomenon in relation to its own inherent system of meaning. It constitute a state of ataraxia where all judgements are suspended. 5 Pretentious bullshit is one of the great pillars of human civilization. 6 As living beings, we can be said to not be attached to existence, and if we think we are then we are wrong since death will disprove us ? existence is just a condition of the possibility of living beings in general, not of specific lives in particular. Norwegian Noemata Etablert i 2000 med røter tilbake til 1980-talet1 er Noemata ein produksjonsstad for nettbaserte og digitale uttrykk, grenseoppgangar og negasjonsformer, det umoglege og utan representasjon, det formlause, marginale, abjekte, prosedurale, virtuelle, ustabile, og prekære. Noemata arrangerar den irregulære x-ennalen Skuddsekundfestivalen som varar eitt sekund, sist gong i 2016/2017 med 140 deltakarar. Festivalen eksisterar beviseleg ikkje.2 Noemata veit ikkje kva dei driv med.3 Dei driv ærleg talt ikkje med noko (anna enn å setta ting i parentes4). Men det er synd å halde på med ingenting. Ingen tjener på det. Men dersom ein ikkje _driv_ med ingenting so vil ein _oppnå_ ingenting, og då er ein ferdig både med kunst og liv. Kunst er innbilsk tull,5 mens liv og død er drepande likegyldig.6 Kva skal ein stakkar gjera? Elektronisk Kunst i Noreg er ein mann som slår etter bilar med ein bærbar datamaskin midt på europaveg E134.7 Drikke seg full og poste drit.8 Om ein forstår det på riktig måte er det som eit stort tomrom utan hindringar eller grenser. Kva kan ein då gjera gale. Ein kan springe som ein bukk nedover fjellsida eller rulle seg på golvet og gapskratte.
