Your recent posts abt trunks’ gt outfit are making me actually want to analyze how he could have conceptualized this fit. Because he’s a trendy young man who is part of the business world & is also the son of the two fiercest fashionistas in the whole city NEITHER of whom would ever wear such a thing…it is truly a feat that he managed to put together the dorkiest possible outfit given all of those factors

AAUGH

HIS OTUFIT USED TO DRIVE ME SO BONKERS THAT I HAD 0 WORDS FOR IT .. LIKE ID THINK OF IT AND IMMEDIATELY HAVE TO COMMIT A PHYSCIAL ACTION (A COMICAL PUNCH TO A WALL OFTEN) OR SMTH BC I COULD NOT HANDLE IT..... Very hard on me becasue I need to articulate what I think and feel but I AM NOT A WORDSMITH and I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FASHION !!!! I remember so many days just being STUCK but KNOWING that there was something PHENOMENAL there IF ONLY I HAD THE JARGON AND TACTICAL APPLICATION ..

I'm a little over it now but I pretend not to be bc I'm finally actually watching GT so yeah. I'm just a little late is all.

This is an AMAZING ASK ... ! HIS FASHION SENSE IS TRULY NOTHING LIKE HIS FASHIONISTA PARENTS .. ! EVEN the way that both their tastes have changed over the years, GT Trunks is still an original .

WHY ? IDK but it feels so right on him. I CANT IMAGINE THE CHILL AND EPIC TEEN AT THR END OF Z WEARING A NECKERCHIEF THO. But then again 5 years ago I could not imagine myself wearing the beautiful shite that I do now . So

AND LIKE .. IT'S NIT JUST THE SHORTS .. IT'S THE EJCJUSVEXN??? DJDJ.... IT'S THE SWEATER HE WEARS UNDERNEATH THE COAT ..?!?!?

Bc it is PROOF it is PROOF it is PROOF that he KNOWS he looks good ....!!!!!!! Hes not dorky and daft . Hes part of the business world like you said. And hes very conscious of his reputation and role. HE TUCKS THAT SWEATER INTO HIS HUGE SHORTS. HIS LONG-SLEEVE BLACK SWEATSHIRT. And it's amazing!!!!!!! What was he thinking???????

The contrast of ALL those tantalizing layers against HIS BARE KNEES. WHAT WAS HE THINKING??????

His huge white shorts. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?????

Is he advant garde or am I just an ignorant bitch ?!

Is he a fashion genius ?! I don't know what he sees. I don't know what he thinks other people see. I domt know what he likes and what is just incidental. I dont know what he knows and what he doesnt know. BUT I KNOW THIS. I dont fucking have what it takes to wear his outfit . But I understand it. It's close to my heart. And I just cant stand it sometimes .

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FASHION but I could talk for a long time about Vegeta's fucked up GT fashion and Fierce Fashion Friday and how Bra inherited his fierce disposition and how her outfits are perfection and all that. And I could talk my damndest about Bulma's changing tastes that all fall under the umbrella of hip and classy and acceptable. And I could talk about Future Trunks and how he is so clearly Bulma's boy. And I could talk about present Trunks in Z and in Super and all of his swaggy fits.

BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO TALK ABT GT TRUNKS. As soon as he put on that neckerchief he became unknowable . Hes a great mystery. Thank you for the ask SUCH AN IMPORTSNT THING TO SAY....!!!

Reasons that Vegeta and Tarble go clubbing together

1. Nobody else will go clubbing with Vegeta (Bulma is often busy or tired, and hes not on friendly terms with anybody else) and he needs to go out to show off his new fierce fit

2. Tarble wants to hang out with him and is pretty much down for anything. Hes not judgemental and doesnt really care where they go

3. Cheerleader effect, Vegeta will look taller in comparison

4. Bulma approves bc she doesnt necessarily want Vegeta to go alone but she doesnt want him to make clubbing friends with questionable constitutions, so this works out really nicely . Plus Tarble often brings his wife so it's just like a nice family event and Bulma thinks that that's good for Vegeta

5. Tarble actually has a tragic backstory in which when he came to earth for the first time he was all optimistic and made some earth friends with whom he could "taste the town" with, and they'd go out partying and stuff, but actually it was more like there was a group of wild frat boys and Tarble became their bitch boy who would clean up the messes and pay for the drinks and stuff. The last straw was when he woke up one morning and some classic frat boy pranks had been done onto him, which on one hand made him feel included, but on the other hand he DID feel like the teabagging had crossed a line. He shares this story at 4 am when hes at the bar with his wife and vegeta and he literally follows it up immediately with "but that's why I like going clubbing with you, you're trustworthy. I know that you would never teabag me, Vegeta-niisan."

And it's so completely infuriating like why would you fucking say that. It's infuriating for at least 4 distinct reasons but I'm not going to delineate them here becasue that would make the post too long. But one of them is that it's just so completely infuriating when Tarble says smth agreeable bc Vegeta hates agreeing with him and he hates the things that Tarble says in general and the way in which he phrases them and also his overall affect but he has to agree this time. So theres a really long pause and then a hard "Yeah." and he doesnt participate in the conversation again for a very long time . OR he says "I would kill you if only it wouldn't disappoint my wife so." OR maybe he just starts strangling him i dont know what's funniest at this time

6. Seriously that's what I mean when I say that Tarble is annoying . He'll just say things that sort of make you uncomfortable but hes being 100% earnest and it just makes you think hes pathetic or something. But hes completely confident hes not insecure anymore bc hes past that point in his life. Hes EARNED the right to be himself and if you're Vegeta that's SO annoying bc you DONT really approve of that self-love attitude and you feel like Tarble should try to be somebody else bc he sucks.

7. I love Tarble and I love Vegeta Fierce Fashion Friday and i want them to hang out so the natural conclusion is that they go clubbing together so that i can have the world . End post

''it's just us two asexuals against the world'' yknow #and it's INFURIATING bc hes not wrong. sometimes they do agree on things. it's just that they are quickly bonding and becoming brothers #right under vegetas nose and HE DOESNT WANT THAT. Nooo it's true . Vegetas fashion isnt really how I make it out to be

For example it is engrained in my heart that hes got a FIERCE streak and if he really let loose hed wear BOLD colors and BLOCKY shapes, like those Vegeta tit tueaday pics, short BLUE dresses and just BLACK shoes and WHITE gloves. The contrast between these blocks of flat color is VITAL, his exposed/defined form is FIERCE .

BUT . I mean. You look at him at the end of Z and you look at him in GT and they dont seem too different, like you cant really see what I pedal transpiring in between.

He wears tan and black, tight-fitting shirts, and especially in GT he dresses like hes going to a gay bar. WHICH IS BEYOND PHENOMENAL. But it's not what I'm always on about is it

Hmmmmm. Well I defintiely think that Vegeta Tit Tueaday was done and over with by GT . But Fierce Fashion Friday is ONGOING. He's still very clearly trying to find himself fashion-wise in GT. It's a neverending journey... to be the fiercest in all the lands....

I never really made a post explaining tit tueaday bc WHO WOULD HAVE TIME TO READ SOMETHING THAT LONG and becasue I wouldnt know how to organize my thoughts on it . But I can tell you that it has it's own role in the ongoing Fierce Fashion era, and Fierce Fashion is entirely about self-expression .

Bulma would try to give him advice and steer him more toward something "presentable" and she'd try to "make it work" but the whole point of Fierce Fashion Friday and Vegeta Tit Tuesday is that IT ALREADY WORKS - out of virtue of the fact that IT DOES NOT FOLLOW ANY GUIDELINES. It is purely the empassioned whims of a neophyte, it works bc it looks good and feels right.

Honestly the whole scenario is a bit relatable which it probably why it means so much to me. I too am a neophyte with a love of fierceness, and I have no idea wtf that even means outside of the context of what I think I know. VEGETA IS THE SAME WAY and that's the POINT .. he is prince Vegeta and he knows Enough to dress like the fierce prince he is .

Why do you think he got those boobs installed... a prince ought to have the biggest boldest boobs around .. you can chuckle if you want but I mean this 100% respectfully.... this is about a budding sense of beauty and a need to express the self, and though that may recquire an audience to perceive it from time to time, it is NOT about FOLLOWING any "STANDARDS" that are outside of the self .

Ok that's my rant. I really ought to watch GT bc I really want to see how Vegeta dresses

Theres a REASON that Bra takes her dad when she goes shopping and not her mom. Other than just the facts that Bulma is always busy and Vegeta can carry more bags

It's also becasue Bra and Vegeta's fashion senses are more COMPATIBLE on account of it being centered around #FIERCENESS. Bulma is a lot of things but shes not FIERCE the way that Bra and Vegeta are .. it's becasue her Venus is in Virgo or something

Fashion-wise Bulma obviously has much good advice but her tastes are a bit too old and too classy for Bra's tastes. An example of Bulma's skill is that she really understands colors, not just how they work together but how they work with your CHARACTER and ENVIRONMENT and even TIME OF YEAR. Things that they imply.

And that's cool and good to keep in mind but that's something that if Bra is going to learn it then shes going to learn it on her own time, yknow? She doesnt just want to be told what to do.

And like Bulma is good with details and with things like "this jewelry will look good with your skintone" and Bra is on her way to teaching her eyes the same skills but again she wants to do that herself and on her own time.

Meanwhile Vegeta doesnt understand colors and their significance hardly at all, he doesnt think about it much, he just likes what he likes. And he likes STRONG colors too, deep and fierce and in blocks, and mostly blues bc that's his style. Personally I'm all about reds so this shit I do with Vegeta is the first I've ever understood blue to be fierce and bold .. i really have learned a lot from these hypothetical truths

Anyway . Yeah Bra takes Vegeta becasue hes less annoying about it and becasue he understands what sort of fashion they're looking for . Also he doesnt always say much bc he knows this isnt about him, and he also has fresh eyes bc fashion isnt actually his forte so hes not too judgemental about it.

BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT HE CANT BE ANNOYING ABOUT IT. he can totally have countering opinions that he is loud about. Sometimes it's just stuff like "that's not quite age-appropriate and your mom would be upset with me if I let you buy that" and other times it's something like "Dont get the red. You'll look like a sun-burnt slut."

Sometimes they're both holding up the exact same pair of shoes but in different colors and they're just going back and forth and arguing.

Eventually though you know how it is, Vegeta doesnt know how to stand up to women or girls even if it's his daughter so eventually he backs off. Becasue you know that Bra is headstrong, she will argue and argue and argue until Vegeta cant back himself up anymore.

So a lot of the time Vegeta just sheepishly (and with wounded pride) stays silent, becasue he knows hes not gonna win, and he doesnt know a lot about fashion anyway .. but at the same time hes her dad and he WANTS to say something bc he does know SOME things and he wants to offer ADVICE and be a GUIDING FACTOR and also validate himself by being knowledgeable and of some use but alas.......

Ultimately though they do mostly agree, bold and fierce fits, Bra has more of an eye and mind for color and style interactions but she also mostly just does what she thinks looks epic for whatever reason, same as Vegeta, and they both understand it as a mode of self-expression, not just something to do to be pretty or "proper."
