🎨El 28 de mayo de 1879 nacía Vanessa Bell. No solo fue la hermana olvidada de Virginia Woolf, fue también un importante miembro del Círculo de Bloomsbury y se ganó la vida como pintora e interiorista.

Vanessa Stephen era la hermana mayor de Virginia. Desde pequeña, se forjó entre ambas una relación que no se rompería nunca. Empezó a estudiar pintura en la Royal Academy. Seis años después, en 1907 se casó con Clive Bell, con quien tuvo dos hijos y con quien mantuvo una relación abierta.

Vanessa desarrolló su arte centrado en paisajes pero también en retratos, destacando varios retratos de su querida hermana. Vanessa también diseñó algunas de las portadas de los libros de Virginia.

BERWICK CHURCH: whilst museums and galleries are still closed it was a treat to pop in to see the murals and decorations by the Bloomsbury Group in this Sussex church near @charlestontrust yesterday morning. Painted during World War II by Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell, and Quentin Bell as a commission from Bishop Bell of Chichester, the murals form an extraordinary decorative scheme: like an Italian chapel in the South Downs. Kew Gardens is a short story that was heavily influenced by the post-Impressionist style of art that was adopted by members the Bloomsbury Group.
