one thing (of many) in Frieren that always makes me feel extra-specially normal is how Himmel’s always going on about how handsome he thinks he is, and how, given that he’s the legendary hero who defeated the demon king and all, he could probably have basically anyone he wants and he knows it. and. he doesn’t. he’s living alone when he dies, and there’s nothing to suggest that he ever wasn’t. because in the entire Fifty (50) years between the day the party went their separate ways and the day he died of old age, he never met anyone who could hold a candle to Frieren, and he’d rather stay single all his life than settle for anyone who isn’t her.
