how much of l4d ties into this AU ? i just found out about this blog yesterday & ive already reread everything like 9 times but i had never even heard of l4d before finding this blog 😓 i havent had any trouble so far but in the future if there's more , , , l4d-ness should i be expanding my knowledge ? hope this ask makes sense 😭

pretty much the basic l4d lore such as

special infected - zombies that have certain abilities

charger (attacked craig): larger than normal infected, has one big arm and one tiny one. charges towards survivors and picks them up, slamming them to the ground

spitter (what stan's group saw): a tall undead woman who is capable of spitting acid at survivors, damaging them and possibly scarring the skin

smoker (captured kenny and butters): doesn't typically get near survivors. has a long tongue/intestine that shoots out and wraps itself around its target and pulls it back towards itself. when killed they emit smoke and temporarily blinds survivors

hunter (attacked stan in the animatic and kicked from the elevator doors by kenny in the comic): stealthy, jumps survivors from a distance and keeps them pinned once locked down

jockey (attacked clyde): typically laughs maniacally and nimbly jumps around until it lands on its targets shoulders and rides them like a horse, directing the survivor away from their allies

boomer (exploded on wendy's group in the animatic): flooded with boomer vile, when provoked the boomer vomits on survivors and explodes when killed. the goo attracts a horde of zombies and temporarily blinds survivors

tank (not yet shown): considered as a boss in the l4d game. it's extremely strong but slow and has the ability to lift concrete from the ground and hurl it at survivors, as well as punch them and send them flying

witch (not yet shown): also considered a boss, she remains passive unless she's provoked by lights or loud noises. she's extremely powerful, and when she gets her hands on a survivor she can kill them in one blow with her long rake-like hands/talons

in the game, there are carriers, regular humans and immune humans, but the lore gets pretty messy around this area

carrier = you have the virus in your system but are asymptomatic, aka doesn't turn into a zombie

immune = your body rejects the virus/you can't be infected

so for this comic im scrapping the carrier concept for simplicity's sake

kenny is the only confirmed immune, although the other characters are currently unaware of this

being immune to the virus depends on the persons gene. if i explain further it'll go super sciency and shit about X and Y chromosomes/recessive genes and i dont feel like typing allthat so i'll drop a link if ur interested LOL

other than that just ur typical zombie apocalypse stuff 👍
