Embarking on a fitness journey is a transformative experience fueled by the powerful force of Fitness Journey Motivation. It goes beyond mere physical changes, encompassing a holistic pursuit of nurturing the body, mind, and spirit. While the initial desire to improve one’s fitness is crucial, it’s the unwavering motivation that becomes the driving force…
I was typing yet another blog, when I looked at this mug that sits on my desk. It’s used as a pen and pencil holder. It’s in that spot all the time, but this morning, I saw it and received the message loud and clear. Once again, God was reminding me to let Him lead me.
I purchased the mug a while ago as a reminder WHO is supposed to be leading in this “romance” and journey of faith between God…
Don’t Give Up. YOU Are Almost There.
Keep going. You never know how close you are to success!!
All people have moments when they have to question themselves. Things in life won’t always go your way, and there will be a lot of times when it may seem hopeless. Everything you encounter seems to be against you, and it can become an unbearable weight, and in that moment of darkness and frustration,…
Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.
gotta say...it'd be a lot more satisfying if the writers would let olivia cooke bring the same energy to alicent that rebecca ferguson brought to jessica in dune: part 2.
Thinking thoughts about Abuela being back and with this backstory about her being taken in by charlatans and Eddies whole catholic guilt thing and how the two things kind of play into one another as an exploration of faith and being taken in by something.
Abuela giving all her money to the tarot card readers etc because she was searching for something - for connection (with Abuelo) - trying to recapture what she had lost, and How Eddie has spoken about trying to re-find the magic he had with Shannon - how Eddie hasn't actually fully reconciled the Shannon of it all when it comes to relationships and how his Catholic guilt connects into that.
How Marisol as a physical representation of Catholicism is part of that narrative - how Eddie is entering a place where he has to chose his path - in order to move on from Shannon he needs to fully square the hole - catholic or non catholic. And how that needs to happen first - before he can begin his queer journey!
I read that more than 30 million people remain under heat advisories across much of the southern and central U.S. Officials have linked at least 13 deaths to the heat wave.
The near-record temperatures are being driven by a weather phenomenon known as a heat dome — when pockets of hot air become trapped in place for days or weeks by variations in the jet stream.
Temperatures are expected to…
the red camellia is undeniably soukoku's flower to me. they bloom in the cold, through snow and winter chill. they're at their most beautiful in the harshest conditions when everything else is dormant or dead. they're a symbol of perseverance and strength and passion. but at the end of the line, they 'behead' themselves when they die, refusing to drop petal by petal, choosing to go when they're still beautiful, refusing to compromise the rest of the tree by rotting on the branch.
do we think that his father, upon being discovered as gay, voluntarily left his mother to go tear it up in California or whatever and did not fight much to stay in Greg's life (whether it be through shame or disinterest, I dunno)
or, perhaps, do you think he wanted to stay involved but Marianne got full custody (for extra pain, him being gay could have factored into being determined unfit I would think..? probably happened in 90s/early 00s)
or a secret third option, or even a combination of both
I like pain, so I lean towards the second one, and I also personally like to believe Greg does not know the actual reason other than "he's gay and he left our family".
because I also wonder, like, for someone who clearly lacks love and support in the first episode, Greg's never been shown to attempt to reach out to his father in any capacity so that link must be fully severed. even just from an unkind reading, like, he prob would have hit his dad up exclusively for money if he was at ALL in his life, so he's clearly not. Greg's dad is only ever used as a weapon against him, as a joke, because he's gay.
