Morgan and Bee: Morgan brings Bee honeymoon in Italy. They start in Lake Como and then down to southern Italy so she can see the giant lemons. Sorrento, Positano, Capri etc. Their honeymoon is roughly a month so that's how they'd spend it!

Fred and Aleida: usually when Fred and Aleida go to Europe for a month or more they stay in Denmark, but there is one summer where they spend it in Spain; another year they spend it in the French Riviera; another in the Italian Riviera...Fred and Aleida are the type of people to rent a house as a base and then live like the locals, doing day trips here and there to other little towns or beaches around.

William and Aberdeen: again, usually when Willy and Aberdeen go to Europe for a month or more, they're in Sweden. However, due to Aberdeen's family's roots in Northern Ireland/Scotland, they definitely do a British Isles trip one year, spending an extended amount of time there. They start in London and work their way north before taking a ferry over to Belfast, visiting Derry, and ending off in Dublin.

Elias and Svea: their honeymoon is in Vienna and Austria -- Svea could easily spend a month somewhere like that. Svea, Elias, Brock, and Grace also island hop in Greece, especially before the Boeser Bouquet is born.

Brock and Grace: island hopping in Greece. They could easily, easily do that for an entire month.

Tyler and Tehilah: I could definitely see them island hopping in Greece too, but I also think I could see them somewhere fun like Amsterdam!

Matthew and Effie: lol.....Effie. Oh Effie. She wants to do the off-the-beaten-path things in Europe. She would take a month-long Norwegian fjord cruise and see the midnight sun (which she and Matthew do). She would want to visit Belgium for an entire month (which she and Matthew do). When she learns more about World War Two she wants to spend time in Northern France and visit all the cold, windy D-Day beaches (which she and Matthew do). See the theme in the brackets? Matthew indulges her with whatever she wants while all his buddies are galavanting in the hotter climates because the smile on Effie's face is better than any of that.

Jacob and Geneviève: they could easily spend a month in France, or England (especially considering Geneviève's history in those places), or of course Sweden, but surprise surprise: they also both love Switzerland!

Rasmus and Lusine: Sweden is an obvious one. They go back to Germany a lot because Lusine does really fall in love with the country after her summer abroad. They also really love having hot boy and hot girl summers in Portugal!

how do all of our favorite couples get ready for a new season?

Let's do a "how they get ready for fall" since that's what we're entering in to! Most are intertwined.

Morgan and Bee: Bee buys a pumpkin spice latte, switches out some of her wardrobe, and calls Aryne, Aleida, Aberdeen, etc. to see when they can all go apple picking and a pumpkin patch.

Fred and Aleida: fall wreath goes on the front door, gets out her fall wardrobe, watches all the fall fashion week shows, tells Fred which weekends they're going apple picking with Bee and Morgan

William and Aberdeen: buys some extra leave-in conditioner since the dryer air affects her hair, puts in William's phone with a one week, three day, two day, one day, six hours, three hours, two hours, and one hour alarms to notify him when they're going apple picking with Morgan and Bee.

Elias and Svea: fuck like rabbits, Svea prepares for the new semester, Elias makes sure to get extra training in, even before training camp

Brock and Grace: Grace opens up registration for her dance classes, organizes all her students, and preps a dance curriculum fit for little kids!

Tyler and Tehilah: Tehilah will prepare for the High Holidays, Tyler doesn't do much besides support Tehilah in the preparations

Matthew and Effie: Effie breaks out the nutmeg and cinnamon and pumpkin and apple, Matthew asks, "Are you going to bake fall-inspired stuff?" and Effie says "Yes" and Matthew pats his stomach in appreciation and says, "I better make more room"

Jacob and Geneviève: fall is always busy for Geneviève because she deals with the afterward of her September issue of her magazine Atomic

Rasmus and Lusine: fuck like rabbits, Lusine prepares for the new semester, Rasmus asks when they can fuck again

Where do all the SBU couples go when they decide to retire from the NHL? Would Elias and Svea or William and Aberdeen consider moving to Sweden full time or doing more of a 50/50 split?

This is a great question, especially for the couples that are dual citizens. I'll go through them all, but in reality, you have to think of it this way: most of the guys retire while their kids are still in school, and most of them have an established life / group of friends etc. in whatever city they're in.

Morgan and Bee: always stay in Toronto / spend summers in Vancouver

Fred and Aleida: stay in Toronto / summers in Denmark and/or Cuba

William and Aberdeen: stay in Toronto / summers in Sweden. When the kids are grown they do more of a 50/50 in Toronto/Sweden

Elias and Svea: stay in Vancouver / summers in Sweden. When Margot is attending university they do a 50/50 split in Vancouver and Sweden.

Brock and Grace: stay in Vancouver / summers in Minnesota.

Tyler and Tehilah: Edmonton!!! With frequent visits to Toronto to see Tehilah's family, but most of their time is in Edmonton

Matthew and Effie: Calgary, with lots of travel to St. Louis

Jacob and Geneviève: Calgary / summers in Sweden

Rasmus and Lusine: Toronto / summers in Sweden

Side note to my last ask, is Tehilah Ashkenazi or Sephardic? I’m assuming Ashkenazi because the majority of the Toronto Jewish community is, although there is a Sephardic synagogue in Thornhill. I ask because stomach issues (chrons, colitis, celiac) are very common in Ashkenazi Jews. Hopefully she doesn’t have any of them because it is not fun, lol.

Yep, she's Ashkenazi, and her ancestors are from Hungary.

You're in luck because I have some down time tonight LOL and also writing my Sid story is proving harder than I thought!

Bee and Morgan: quiet night in, where Bee either tries out a new recipe or they order takeout and watch Netflix

Fred and Aleida: hire a babysitter for Helena, dress up, and go to SoHo House for some drinks

Willy and Aberdeen: dinner out at a restaurant with excellent food (doesn't have to be fancy, just has to be good)

Elias and Svea: movie followed by fucking like rabbits

Brock and Grace: Grace loves going to see shows (comedy shows, operas, ballets, etc.) so they will usually make a date night out of it!

Tyler and Tehilah: something fun that makes them laugh the entire time, like glow in the dark mini golf

Matthew and Effie: Matthew will usually take Effie out for food she's never tried before; alternatively, many date nights are just spending the night in while Effie bakes, Matthew eats half the batter, and becomes her taste-tester once everything's done!

Jacob and Geneviève: like Grace, Geneviève also likes attending events like talks, readings, interviews etc.

What made you create Tyler and Tehilah without writing a story? Do you have a general outline of them somewhere or do facts just come to you when someone asks a question?

I think because so many people enjoyed his and Bee's relationship in Alone, Together, I wanted to give him a happy ending so he didn't end up a forever bachelor.

Just wanted to drop a quick message of thanks for creating a Jewish character in your universe ✡️ Hockey fic is lacking in diversity in the ocs so I'm so happy to see you've created Tehilah (Jewish), Aleida (Cuban), and Aberdeen (part Persian I know you said she was white passing but it's still important). Even Bianca being Asian is so great. But back to Tehilah, since Bee and Tyler are so close, do the Riellys and Ennis fam ever celebrate Jewish holidays together?

Ahhhh thank you so much!!! You are too kind. I've always said that I want me OCs to reflect the world I live in, which -- living in Toronto -- is extremely diverse. I'm happy that you (seemingly?) connect with Tehilah, despite not having a full story written.

To answer your question -- yes! Bee & Morgan remain close to Tyler and Tehilah always. Bee and Morgan do want their children to experience different cultures and belief systems, especially since the Ennis boys celebrate Jewish holidays. I've mentioned before how Tehilah is Reform Jewish (and that her parents are pretty liberal) but she still celebrates all the holidays (including the high ones) and is connected to her Jewish identity and faith. There are multiple instances where the Riellys get together with them for Shabbat dinner (at Tehilah's invitation, of course), and though Tyler and Tehilah celebrate most Jewish holidays with her family, Tyler and Tehilah have Morgan and Bee over for a Passover Seder one year with all the kids.

okay why do I feel like Helena and Tyler would get along really well. just like their personalities and sense of humours would seem really good interacting with one another. Sorry I know that sounds weird😂 I just think those two would really get along despite Tyler being a friend of her dads LOL

They do get along, as Helena likes him as one of her dad's friends. Like even when she's a teenager, she likes Tyler and talks to him whenever he visits the family...but it's not like they're friends or anything lol

How does each child view their parents? Like does Helena know that Aleida is a badass? Do the Nylander kids know Aberdeen is a smarty pants and Dad is an actually head empty meatball? How would you describe each spine buster parent in the eyes of their children? What do their kids think their best attributes are? Unconditional love, humor, etc

I know this may seem like the easy answer, but each kid views their parents the same way: as mom and dad. But I think that's really important. Each kid knows their mom and dad are their mom and dad and the best mom and dad in the world. They know their parents love them unconditionally and would do anything for them. And like, of course there's fights and disagreements, but at the end of the day, even if a 15-year-old Andy and a 12-year-old Maia burst into their parents room as a prank and jumped on their bed trying to cuddle, Morgan and Bee would let them in and cuddle with no hesitation.

There are the little things -- yeah, Andy and Maia know that their mom didn't have the best mom, which is why she's the best mom. Helena knows her mom's a smokeshow. Saoirse, William Jr., Jonas, and Astrid know dad is completely in love with mom. Margot knows her mom made the deliberate decision to build a successful career first before she had her. The Boeser brood know their dad's got the most sensitive and caring heart in the world. Gabriel and Simon know their dad's hilarious because of how often he makes mommy laugh.

You may have answered this before but how did each person know the other was the “one”? Like was there a moment or anything?

Oh gosh!  I’m sure I’ve answered this in some iteration before but I’m too lazy to find it.

To be clear, I take “the one” as meaning marriage, kids, a life together etc., not just a long-term relationship.  We are talking about the entire package lmfao:

Morgan and Bee: the night they babysat Henry Gardiner, Morgan knew she was the one.  For Bee, it was while they were in Vancouver the first time!

Fred and Aleida: for Fred, it was the events of Chapter 3.  For Aleida, it was realizing it on her own when she was alone.

Willy and Aberdeen: for William it was the moment he saw her at King Taps; it was reinforced that night she was explaining her tattoos to him and he told her “I think about you when I’m not even thinking.”  For Aberdeen, it was quarantining together.

Elias and Svea: uhhh.....when they were like three? Lmao but realistically, the weekend at Brock’s place on Prior Lake, for both of them!

Brock and Grace: For Brock, it was the night of the Parkinson’s Benefit; for Grace, it was seeing him interact with her dad.

Tyler and Tehilah: for Tehilah, walking home after their first date and realizing she’d been laughing the entire time, she knew.  For Tyler, walking home after their first date, and realizing someone had laughed at his jokes for the entire time, he knew.

Do any of your couples have friends on other teams?

My canon is ever-evolving, but at the end of the day, all of my characters and OCs are connected and know each other somehow.  We started off with Bee being best friends with Tyler Ennis, but it’s obviously grown from that!

Here are all the connections I can think of right now:

Bee/Aleida/Aberdeen all know each other from being on the Leafs (obvi) as do Grace/Svea/Geneviève from being on the Canucks. Effie’s friendship with Geneviève when Jacob is a Calgary Flame leads her to know about the rest of the girls. Since Tyler is so close with Bee (and Tehilah works for The Rielly Foundation at one point anyway), Tehilah knows about the rest of the girls through Bee.

Aberdeen, Svea, and Geneviève are friends because William, Elias, and Jacob play together on the Swedish national team, so they become close.  Aberdeen and Geneviève also know each other well because they’re both writers.
