11x20 thoughts before I sit down and write my Caryl post:
- Too short. Way too short. Have I ever mentioned I HATE cliffhangers?
- A+ to the guy who played Lance. He nailed it. Every scene, every episode, he NAILED it.
- I’m genuinely surprised at the focus of Eugene the last several episodes and the massive character growth he’s gone through. It really does seem like they’re getting ready to kill him off.
- THE WAY MY BLOOD BOILED WHENEVER I SAW TF IN THE BUS MY KIDS ARE ON THERE YOU HEATHENS
- Yumiko’s speech…. 🤯

Day 6 - Finding Peace in a Winter Wonderland
Fandom: Boondock Saints/The Walking Dead Crossover
Prompt: first time seeing snow (reader or s/o’s first time)
Ship: Connor MacManus x OC x Daryl Dixon x Murphy MacManus
Quick Author's Note: Ok, so I am doing another Christmas oneshot based on my crossover. If you didn't know, I did two Christmas oneshots for the previous event last year. It technically is supposed to be for my crossover series, however, it only took place between parts 2 and 3 (BDS1/2). This time, it's in the TWD part of my series. Specifically, this takes place between s5/s6. Post-Wolves/pre-Negan. Basically, this is a fun little oneshot as to what the future of my series may, or may not, look like along with a cute little spoiler for everyone aside from @lilythemadqueen and @phoenixblack89 (who know pretty much how most of my series is going aside from a few plot points between s9/s10/s11 that I need to go do some serious outlining to figure out how to get this towards how I really want this to end). One last thing, I did change the prompt a little. It still remains the same, but be slightly different.
Anyway, enjoy~!!
Somedays Katie can’t believe that this is her life.
She’s survived the initial outbreak of a zombie outbreak which resulted in the collapse of the entire world. Then, spent the next two, almost three, years surviving with a group. She considers herself lucky that her husbands and children survived as well. That they had Rocco and Romeo with them as well She considers herself lucky to have found a good people among the group she’d end up with outside of Atlanta once Rick woke up from his coma.
She still feels the pain from losing the prison and many of th people she’d been responsible for when the Governor returned. She’d hoped that Michonne would find that monster on one of her many trips before something horrible happened. She doesn’t blame the swordswoman what happened either. She’d spent most of that year searching for him.
Still, Katie can’t help but be angry at the Governor. All the people they lost resulting in the prison’s fall. The remainder of the people of Woodbury, the other survivors they’d found afterwards, Herschel, Oscar, Big Tiny, Shane, Andrea, Randell, T-Dog.
Bob.
That death still weighed heavy on the blonde. Especially when she saw how Sasha had started to shut down from losing someone who she let get so close to her. Tyreese tried to help her where he could, but he’s been struggling recently trying to adapt to having lost part of his arm. Merle had stepped up in a big way with Tyreese. The surly redneck taking the younger man under his wing. Showing him the ropes on how to care for his stump. How to adjust to now having only one hand. It hadn’t been easy, but Tyreese improved every day.
Katie shook her head as she climbs out of her warm bed to walk to the bathroom. It’s been a couple months since her group had been found by Aaron and brought to Alexandria. It’d been even less time since the Wolves attacked. This community had been slowly taking their heads out of the sand and started taking her group seriously.
It was still hard as the group had lost their leader, Deana. Especially Spencer, her oldest son. In a short amount of time, Spencer had lost his younger brother, his father, then finally his mother. Katie had been encouraging the others to give Spencer his space to grieve, but to take turns checking in on him every day. Offerings for shoulders to cry on and ears to talk to remind the young man that he’s not alone and that he can heal from this.
After all, the point of a community is to help one another.
Isn’t it?
Katie walks out the bathroom to head to the doors that lead out to the small balcony she had. She pulls the curtains open and is greeted by the sight of bright white. She lets out a displeased hiss at the sudden brightness before closing the curtains quick. Chuckling could be heard behind her as she rubs the spots out of her eyes.
“Dat’s one way t’ wake up,” she could hear Murphy tease from behind her.
Katie turns her head to see her husband walking closer to her. “I guess it snowed last night, huh?”
“No,” he drawled playfully. He wraps his arms around her and kisses her temple. “What makes ye say dat, love?”
Katie rolls her eyes, then pinches his side. He lets out a yelp as he jumps away from her. “Kids awake?”
“Yup,” he replied, “Connor and Daryl ‘ave dem. Wanted t’ let ye sleep a bit. We know ye been ‘avin’ trouble sleepin’ since de prison fell. Wanted ye t’ get de sleep ye need.” He takes her hand and leads her towards the door to head down the hall. “Came up t’ tell ye dat breakfast is ready and we’re ‘avin’ a snow day.”
Katie raises an amused eyebrow. “Snow day, huh?”
“O’ course.” Murphy grins. “Arty and Appo ‘aven’t seen snow before. Dis will be de first time dey do. It’s also Daryl’s first winter as a father. It’s our obligation t’ let ‘im ‘ave a fun day playin’ wit’ de kids like a dad.”
“Don’t act like you and Connor aren’t also going to try and devise a way to get into our pants on top of this,” Katie shot back playfully.
Murphy puts a hand over his heart in mock offense. “’ow dare ye accuse me and me brother o’ such nefariousness,” he gasped as they enter the kitchen, “we would never do such a terrible ding.”
Connor looks up from where he’s plating breakfast for the kids. “What’s goin’ on?” Daryl, who’s in the middle of feeding Artemis a bit of oatmeal, glances over in mild interest.
“Katie dinks dat us ‘avin’ a snow day is a cover fer some kind o’ nefarious purpose from us,” Murphy complained, “I was only tellin’ ‘er dat it’s de first time dat Artemis and Apollo will see snow and dat it’s Daryl’s first winter as a father, officially.”
Connor caught on to his twin’s antics and shoots a faux hurt look at Katie. “Mo gra, ‘ow could ye dink somethin’ so terrible,” he scolds. Though, the mischief in his eyes told everyone other wise.
Katie and Daryl look at each other and roll their eyes. The two silently agreeing that the brothers were up to something. They always use days off as a chance to have some quality alone time with their spouses. Of course, they make sure that they spend time together with the kids for a big family event.
After the farm, Katie had made it a point that the group needs to take a day every now and then to spend it with their loved ones. For her, it was her husbands, children, and eventually Daryl when he agreed to explore these feelings developing between them. For Herschel, it was his daughters and Glenn. For Rick, it was his son, Lori (if he could handle not getting into an argument with her), and Shane (to rebuild their friendship after the damaging hits it had taken since Rick showed up at the quarry).
“We’re gonna have to put runs on hold anyway ‘cause of the snow,” Daryl piped up. He carefully wipes oatmeal from his daughter’s face. “Need to clear the streets in Alexandria and wait for the snow outside the walls to melt enough for the cars to travel on.”
“I know,” Katie agreed. She makes herself a cup of coffee, then moves to sit on Daryl’s free side. As she sits down, she leans over to give the redneck a kiss on his cheek. “Morning.”
“Morning,” Daryl grunts. A small, happy smile on his face.
“How’d you sleep,” she asks. Daryl has always been a light sleeper. She considered it a miracle if he’s able to go through the night without waking up from something.
“Slept alright,” he answered, truthfully, “heard the ankle-biters getting fussy on the baby monitor. Connor got up with me to help. They needed a quick diaper change and another blanket. They conked out pretty quick after that.”
“That’s good,” Katie hummed, “at least, they’re sleeping through the night.” She leans against his arm. Her lips pressing a sweet kiss to his shoulder.
“’ey,” Connor huffs, “what ‘bout me? Don’ I get a kiss?” He pouts childishly at her.
Katie rolls her eyes, then gestures him to come closer. Connor grins widely as he practically skips over to steal a quick kiss. Then, he heads back to the counter to finish up making breakfast and has Murphy help him serve it out to everyone at the table.
Katie’s multi-colored eyes lands on the empty seat at the table. “Where’s Merle?”
“Still in ‘is room downstairs,” Connor answered, “Daryl checked on ‘im earlier and found dat de poor guy’s come down wit’ de flu after all.”
“Did someone go to Denise already,” Katie asked.
“Yeah, I did,” Daryl replied, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, “she gave us some medicine to help him. Told us to also make sure that he stays hydrated and warm. And that we make sure he eats every now and then.”
Katie hummed. “See if we have any Gatorade in the community still,” she suggested, “we need to make sure that he replenishes his electrolytes too.”
“I think Rick might still have some when he and Michonne came down with the flu last week,” Daryl said, “I’ll ask him later. Might see if he’ll let us have the kids crash with him and Mich or maybe with Glenn and Maggie for a while. If Merle’s caught it, then it’s a matter of time until the rest of us do.”
“Agreed,” Katie said, “rather it just be us with the flu than the rugrats.”
Norman nods from his seat next to Murphy. “Being sick sucks balls,” he said.
Katie shoots her son a stern look. “Norman,” she warns.
“I didn’t cuss though,” the boy complained, “balls isn’t a cuss word.”
“You don’t say that at the table,” Katie chided.
“Uncle Merle says it and a lot worse stuff at the table,” Norman grumbled over his glass of juice.
“I’m not Merle’s mother,” Katie pointed out, “plus, you know I get on him about the things he says too.”
Norman looks to Daryl. “Daaaad,” he whined. His blue eyes find Daryl’s.
“Listen to your mother,” Daryl wisely says. Though, he’s smiling over his cup of coffee that he takes a quick sip of.
Apollo, sweet, oblivious Apollo, is grabbing chunks of scrambled egg from his little tray at his highchair. He’s trying to get a big piece of egg that Artemis sees from her seat and is able to lean over and steal from him. Even though Daryl had been feeding her oatmeal since she didn’t want her eggs. Apollo shoots his sister an offended look, then looks sadly at the piece of egg that she shoves into her mouth.
“Balls,” Apollo suddenly announces as he looks at his tray dejectedly.
Daryl chokes on his coffee.
The kids erupt in a loud chorus of laughter. Katie hides her face in her hands and rests on the table. Her shoulders shaking in suppressed laughter. Connor and Murphy are howling with laughter. The two turning red in the face with tears streaming down their cheeks.
Not a bad start to their morning.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
After breakfast, Connor and Katie had the older kids put together a bag with a few days’ worth of clothes while they packed the baby twins’ stuff. Murphy had already gone over to Glenn and Maggie’s to see if they’d be willing to let the six kids crash with them, Beth, Noah, and Enid until the flu bug leaves their household. The married couple were more than happy to have them. Glenn even said that it would be good practice for them to when their own future children since this would help them learn how to care for children at different ages. Plus, Maggie said that she’d been planning on trying to steal one of the younger kids for the day since she’d been in a baby fever.
Oh yeah, they really wanted to be parents.
Once the kids had their stuff taken care of, everyone, sans Merle, were dressed up for winter weather. The family exited the warm house to the brisk cold of the winter wonderland outside. Artemis and Apollo, who were babbling loudly as they didn’t like being stuffed into the bulky winter jackets, went silent as they stared at the stark, white powder.
Daryl and Katie exchanged knowing grins and decided that heading to the Rhee household could wait a little while longer.
Daryl, who held Apollo, walks down the porch steps, then kneels to the ground. “It’s snow,” he says softly to his son. He grabs a handful of it from the ground and holds it up for the baby to see.
Apollo reaches out to touch it. He grabs some to inspect it. The little bit of snow in his hand melts. The baby lets out a distressed noise, then shakes his hand wildly to get rid of it.
“Yeah, it’s cold and wet,” Daryl says softly, “but that means you can eat it.” He eats the rest of the snow in his hand. Apollo looks at him like he grew a second head. Daryl chortles, then grabs another handful of snow to offer Apollo. Katie kneels down with Artemis so she could take some from her father if she wished. “Try it.”
Artemis and Apollo take some and eat it. Artemis makes a sound like she’s trying to say ‘good’, but can’t get the ‘g’ and ‘d’ down yet. Apollo leans down to the ground to grab more. When he leans up, he smears the snow all over his sister’s face. Artemis lets out a shriek when some of the melted snow slips between her skin and her jacket.
“Oh, he’s definitely been hanging out with Merle too much,” Katie teased, “your brother would’ve done the same thing or worse, he’d just shove a bunch of snow down your shirt.”
Daryl snorts as he stands up. “Yeah, yeah.”
Connor wraps an arm around Daryl’s waist and pulls him closer. “’ey, since yer tellin’ de kids it’s okay t’ eat de snow, be sure t’ ‘ave de talk wit’ dem ‘bout stayin’ away from yellow snow,” he teased.
Daryl opened his mouth to say something, but stops when Luke lets out a yelp. The three adults and two infants turn their heads to see that Murphy had started a snowball fight with the other four children while they waited on the other half of their family. Poor Luke had been beaned in the back of the head by a snowball. The blonde boy rubbing the back of his head as he wipes away half melted snow from his hair. Sean stood a few feet behind him snickering. He wasn’t snickering for long when Leia suddenly unleashes her attack on her eldest brother to avenge her twin. The oldest starts running away only to end up in another ambush set up by Murphy and Norman. The two showed no mercy as they jumped from behind the porch and dumped a huge pile of snow on Sean’s head. The boy shoots the two of them a look that showed how much he inherited from his mother. The dirty look he sent them the same one Katie had given the three men when they buried her under a mountain of snow during the first winter.
More people come out of their homes all dressed up in their winter clothes. A few of the adults were passing out shovels and bags of salt while others just stood by and watched the snowball fight in front of the MacManus-Dixon household. Carl comes jogging over with Enid and a few of Katie’s younger cousins to join in on the snowball fight. Rick and Michonne stood on their porch with Judith in Rick’s arms. Beth dragged Noah and Maggie after her to join the fun. Glenn trotting after them with a grin on his face.
Eugene sat on the porch steps to his place to watch with Rosita. Abraham and Sasha walked by with Tyreese in handing out thermos filled with chicken soup or hot coffee that Olivia had prepared for everyone who would be outside. Tara and Denise, who’d gone on a morning walk to enjoy the fresh snow, came over to join the fun. Tara leaning down to scoop up a handful of snow herself that she threw at Glenn when she was close enough. Connor left the porch to tackle his brother into a large pile of snow. The two laughing and shouting as they wrestled. Morgan and Carol were already at the Grimes house sitting on the bench on the porch. The two sharing a blanket with hot cups of coffee in their hands. Content smiles on their faces as they watch the madness.
Katie stood on her porch with her youngest daughter in her arms. Daryl by her side with Apollo. The two adults exchanging happy content looks before watching the scene before them.
Yeah, this is a pretty good Christmas morning.
okay TWD 11x21 was, again, an okay episode BEWARE OF SPOILERS BELLOW
I have two major complains that I guess are the major complains for everyone too:
1 - the pacing: everything is happening so fucking fast. How can we, the audience, get really worried about the characters who were captured and sent to forced labor when we know things will be resolved next week? And that their forced labor consisted mainly on...moving sticks and rocks for one day? I just can't perceive the Commenwealth as this big bad wolf. Maybe their bad stormtroopers and ridiculous town square and hundreds of no relevant side characters and no ending resources on a ZA has something to do with it . Also, I will always love a good TF reunion (Carol and Maggie and Carol and Gabriel hugs *chef kiss*) but it loses a bit of impact when they aren't separated long enough.
2 - the shipbaiting. No need to explain nothing here.
Besides that, I also would like to point that..
3 - I really need some confirmation that Gabriel and Rosita are still a couple. They were very cozy on S9 and S10 but are acting on a really strange matter on S11 and I WANT TO KNOW WHATS THE TEA HERE because this show is a ZA bad soap opera and my latin ass is engaged on their weird relationship.
4 - CARYL ❤ still as positive as annoyed about how long is taking to solve things up with them. I just want them to hug and kiss, you know? Carol just standing there, looking utterly gorgeous, loving this man who wears the same pair of disguting pants since the world has ended without any second thoughts...she deserves to be kissed. Daryl, please, I'm begging you, kiss your woman or I will.
5 - Finally someone called Negan on his savior harem bullshit! And it was Ezekiel! Very fitting, and I think it demonstrates that TPTB sometimes listen to their audience (even if it takes a couple of years to address the issue).
That's it. Praying for 11x22 be the end of the shipbaiting. Also it will be nice to see ASZ again, and I'm also hoping for confirmation that everyone's on Oceanside is dead. Caryl on!
My boyfriend got tired of watching TWD near the end of S10 (can't really blame him dbekskbshskw) so that means I can binge watch the rest of S10 and whole S11 by myself! I have such a weird relationship with this show 😅 Not gonna quit near the end though! I might post some thoughts about it so if you're not into TWD I will be using these tags you can blacklist: #twd, #the walking dead, #twd spoilers, #lilith watches twd
hey so “find me” dropped on premiere and i just watched it, so you know what that means??
it’s review time!
(super rambly as usual) spoilers under the cut
before i say anything, let me say, IT’S FINE, Y’ALL. as predicted. people are gonna be dramatic bc there are daryl/leah scenes, but like...we been knew? and some of them were rly important caryl-wise. (tbh, the episode was kind of boring and just a set-up for other stuff, lmfao)
okay, review:
opening credits, which i think most of us have already seen, were cute. obvi there was some weird tension with daryl that leads to the coming-to-a-head thing at the end, but their banter is still cute af
they went fishing and daryl’s reaction to carol was adorable, and there’s an important parallel later on, so bookmark this
similarly, there’s an important parallel to carol’s “the dead catch up to us eventually”/daryl’s “i ain’t gonna let it”, so bookmark that, too
dog is the instigator for the flashbacks, so if you wanna blame anyone, blame him. he races to the cabin, which for some reason daryl, who spent five years in this forest, seemed surprised to see? didn’t you literally map out that whole area, my dude? whatever
cue flashback!
i might have the scene order mixed up, but i think it starts with daryl being all sad by himself, and then dog as a puppy shows up and he’s like “!!! a dog!!!” which is v cute, and then he runs back off. we don’t meet leah yet
we see carol and daryl having a conversation while standing on opposite sides of a river for no reason except to probably symbolize distance or maybe covid, lol. the conversation basically goes:
carol: things are different
daryl: yeah
carol: how long are you gonna be out here?
daryl: -shrug emoji-
carol: i get why you’re out here, and i’d join you if things weren’t...
daryl: different
carol: yeah
daryl: yeah. anyway, it’s gonna rain, and also i’m having emotions, so ttyl
the end
at some point we see daryl sitting with an extremely unhappy face while it pours rain on him in the dark, and i want that as a reaction gif IMMEDIATELY
also the rain destroys his “where in the world is rick grimes?” map, which makes him v upset and scream-y, and we get the idea that he might be going a bit bonkers being all alone looking for a dead (or, ig, kidnapped by helicopter) man
in present day carol finds the note, and is like “oh dunk, she lived here??” so she knew about leah, and daryl’s like, “i already told you everything,” and carol’s like, “no you didn’t,” so we go back to flashbacks (but i’m still not sure what parts carol didn’t already know?? whatever, it’s not that important)
i’m just gonna hit the highlights of the flashbacks bc they were not that thrilling:
first time daryl meets leah the dog leads him to her cabin, and leah ties him to a chair and holds a gun to his head being like, “what are you doing on my land?” bc apparently you can claim whole forests during the apocalypse, and daryl says very little, and eventually she lets him go
next time dog finds daryl and he brings her back and leah is like, “the dog likes you” and they’re kinda flirty, and then daryl says very little and leaves
next time daryl is surrounded by walkers and leah shows up and helps and they hide in a tree and are awkwardly close to each other and daryl cannot handle the close physical contact so when the walkers pass he says very little except to tell her to never come back again, lmfao
the next flashback is my favorite bc daryl just fucking
goes to leah’s cabin and throws a fish at the door???
i laughed for ten years
he throws a fucking fish and then stands there for a minute like “is she gonna notice that i gave her a fish??” like, no, dumbass, you didn’t even knock, you just threw a fucking fish at her fucking door, what is wrong with you??
no wonder it’s taken him and carol so long if he thinks throwing fish at people is a smooth move. boy has NO fucking game
anyway, leah gets him back by finding him and throwing the fish at his head, being like, “wtf, don’t throw fish on my porch?” which, fair, leah
IMPORTANT CARYL PARALLEL (from here on out known as “caryllels”) #1: so earlier i mentioned the carol fish thing, and apparently the same thing happened with leah, where she speared a fish on her first try and daryl was like “tf?” v blatant “we are supposed to be thinking about carol and daryl’s relationship during this scene” sort of thing
leah’s backstory is bland. had a family, they got eaten or disappeared or something. she, her adopted son, and dog’s mom got away, but the kid was bit, and died the same day dog was born, bc ig when god closes one door, he replaces your dead son with a puppy, or however the idiom goes
ONLY PART THAT GOT ME LEGIT EMOTIONAL:
leah asked daryl who he lost, and he says, “my brother”
asklfdjaslfdjskl
god i miss rick
i hated rick for so long and now i miss him so much
but i digress
IMPORTANT CARYLLEL #2: leah and daryl have the same “the dead get you eventually”/”i ain’t gonna let it” conversation as caryl had earlier, only daryl is playing the role of carol in this scenario, so again we’re supposed to be comparing the two relationships. lemme get through the rest of the summary and then i’ll tell you my opinion on what that means
fuck what even happens next?
i have these out of order bc they were all the fucking same, but the two of them get closer, and there is the vaguest suggestion of sex ever. you literally only see daryl’s hand
then jump-cut to them sitting at the table being emo, ig bc daryl was gonna go back to look for rick for a bit, and leah is like “who do you belong with? your brother you won’t stop looking for? your family that you left? [side note: that seemed rather pointed, like, “hey hoe, you abandoned your family, that was kind of a dick move”] or me?” and he says he doesn’t know, and she’s like “yeah you do, now choose”
jump-cut to caryl scene where carol finds him at the river and says that she won’t be visiting as much, and daryl’s like “k” and they have a brief argument where daryl’s all snippy, like, “what? do you want my permission for you to move on with your life? i’m not still emo about the fact that you’re moving on with your life, and i also don’t think it’s contextually significant that every time you show up in my flashbacks you explicitly mention that you’re married and have a kid,” and carol is like, “bro, you need to Get Your Shit Together and come home”
jump-cut to daryl having what i’m assuming is an epiphany that carol/fam have all moved on while he was out being emo, and so he decides to go be with leah, except, plot twist! she’s gone. the picture of her and her son is gone, but dog is still there. daryl leaves the note, which says, “i belong with you, find me”
for those freaking out about the wording about the note, may i remind you that she specifically asked, “do you belong x, x, or with me?” so he was just answering the question
aaaaaand back to present day
carol is like, “what do you think happened to her?” and daryl is all -shrug emoji-, and then she’s like, “...do you think she might have just...you know...left?” and daryl gets rull offended, which was kind of funny
(she probably just left, bud)
carol tells daryl to stop thinking that when people leave it’s bc of him, and connie’s name gets thrown into the mix, and daryl gets a “oh here we fucking go” look on his face, and it sets him off
he said basically what we were already spoiled for. “you just want to run, you don’t know when to stop, i shouldn’t have taken you off the boat bc you still just want to run” etc
and carol looks fucking HEARTBROKEN, which hurt me, and she goes into the other room and we end the episode with daryl staring forlornly out of the window
the end
okay
so quick analysis
i think the significance of this episode is supposed to be so we have an understanding of why daryl is suddenly so !teamfamily, and !teamfuture, and how badly he wants carol to be there with him. at one point, one of them even says, “this isn’t about leah, or connie,” or anyone but the two of them. the title “find me” feels significant, bc the whole episode is daryl grappling with where he’s supposed to go, and what his purpose is, and by the end, he says to carol, “i know where i belong,” (implying, with her and the fam), pulling us full-circle. in the first flashback onward he is lost, but by the end he is found -cue amazing grace-
daryl and leah were flirty, but to me it felt very much like something that was just being used as daryl character development. we barely got anything that juicy between the two of them (except the fish throwing thing, that was amazing), and i still don’t think that it would make any sense, regardless of the showrunner, to pair daryl up with some rando after having so many other choices that people would have preferred. i don’t think we’re meant to #endgame ship it, so much as we are supposed to be like, “oh, ok, daryl learned the power of family and stability and leveled up, -you know what that is? growth gif-” as a result, i literally have no idea what leah’s role is gonna be in s11, but i don’t think it’ll be a huge plot point
so now we firmly know where daryl stands. he is all about moving forward, not looking back, and doing the best he can, and he’s frustrated bc when he took carol off the boat he wanted her to be in the same place as him so that they could grow together, but she wasn’t and isn’t there yet
so my guess is that what’s next for carol’s storyline is her reaching that same zen-level daryl’s at
once they’re both there, then they get to ride off into the sunset and make passionate love under the moon casting shadows over the vast desert wasteland
whew
anyway
tl;dr: idk, episode was fine, if not kinda boring. lots of caryllels. can i go back to writing my vietnam war au now?
the end
(stay hype, stan kang, and get daryl to call carol sweetheart 2k21),
Well..ah… Here’s Negan was not at all what I was expecting. Not super thrilled tbh. But expectations are our own demise, eh? I realize I’m mostly alone on this one lol, but that’s okay. Though the ending was HUGE.
And now I’m sad because I officially have no more TWD to watch until Netflix adds Season 11. So I’m going to cry about it here because I have no friends that watch. I started in March. 7 months. And now it’s just over 😭😭😭 I’ll never remember what fuck happened when it comes on finally in a year or whatever 😭
I’ll leave on this. Every time Maggie gives Negan the death glare, all I can think is this
angry
I’m so mad and sad about S10E18 of The Walking Dead. It makes me so angry, the whole thing with Daryl and Leah. I’m so pissed and upset about it and I can’t even talk about it with anyone because no one I know is as into the story and the character development as I am. I just wanna cry.
Everything that Daryl has become and everything the writers, producers and Norman himself have said contradict all of “Find Me” and it makes me so damn angry.
They’ve talked about so many times how Daryl isn’t the kind of person who would push someone up against a tree and kiss them, that it has to evolve to that. He has to trust them and really know them and they’ve even talked about how they think he was a virgin because he never felt close enough to anyone. And that’s what makes me so pissed off about episode 18.
We saw nothing of Daryl and Leah’s relationship. We know nothing about her. And suddenly I’m supposed to care about who she is? Within a few clips that told us next to nothing about who she is or what their relationship was? I couldn’t care less about her. The only reason I care is because she meant something to Daryl and now he’s all fucked up over it.
We haven’t seen the evolution of their relationship. We saw a few incredibly spaced out pieces that I don’t even know what to make of. Daryl has gotten so close to reaching that point with characters, specifically Beth and Connie. But we saw everything that led up to it over the course of A SEASON AND A HALF EACH. NOT ONE FUCKING EPISODE.
I don’t understand why they did this. I don’t get why she was brought in. I don’t know why Daryl likes her and why he thinks he belongs with her. I don’t fucking get it. How can they expect us to feel for a moment like this when it wasn’t built up to over the course of a season, but in a single fucking episode? I’m so fucking mad.
It just doesn’t make any sense. Why now? Why Leah? Why did he get so attached to her? Why did Carol know about her and we didn’t? Why? Fucking why? We haven’t seen anything from Daryl to hint at any kind of thing like this having happened in the time jump. There was no indication of any sort and I can’t stand it. It’s like suddenly the writers decided that Daryl needed some kind of love story, except for some reason, not with Connie, but a total fucking stranger. I’m so pissed off and upset.
You know the first thing I thought of when I saw that cabin? Beth. Of the fucking cabin the two of them burnt down. You know when Leah said Dog knows when a person is good? I think of Dog being attached to Connie and running up to her.
Daryl put in so much effort to talk to and get to know Connie. He’s trying to help Kelly the best that he can and we all understand why. But we know fucking nothing about Leah. We don’t know anything about their relationship or the effort he put in. We don’t know why she was so pissed at him for continuing to look for Rick. Because lord knows Beth and Connie would understand him doing this, but she doesn’t.
I’m so damn angry. Tell me it’s just a show all you want, I don’t give a shit. I’m way too invested in these characters and their evolution for something so important for Daryl’s arc to be written off like it’s nothing. I’m livid and heartbroken.
Daryl Dixon deserves better than “Find Me.” He deserves better than Leah. He deserves “Still” and “Chokepoint.” He deserves Beth and Connie.
