#tvdu undermining its own shit is the reason why it has so many problems

i think it’s interesting that the early seasons of tvd explore how hard it is to become a vampire, but after awhile they sort of stop doing that? which i assume is for narrative purposes, because no writer wants to re-hash out the same shit over and over (legacies didn’t have any issue doing that but i digress!)
but it created issues for me because it unintentionally shifted what it meant to be a vampire and how there are also very significant negatives to it.
klaus just turned tyler into a hybrid and the storyline is completely focused on the sire bond, but for some reason every other aspect of being a vampire isn’t an issue to him? and you’d think it would be even worse for him, since he’s also a werewolf. like i get he doesn’t have to turn anymore, so that’s a plus, but i would assume that there’s a lot of shit going on with your body if you’re two supernaturals at once (there’s even a line in legacies where hope confirms this when she’s talking to landon in the pilot).
so why didn’t tyler kill more random people, like caroline killed the carnival guy? i sort’ve get not wanting to be repetitive every time someone turns into a vampire, but this is a vampire show at the end of the day and that’s why people are here. they undermine the world building when they only focus on the negatives of vampirism when it’s convenient
