After fleeing Twitter as it rapidly burns down I’ve blown the dust off a Tumblr I never really used. The name comes from my favorite line of an old Kris Kristofferson song I particularly like.
Nightmares are somebody’s daydreams
Daydreams are somebody’s lies
Lies ain’t no harder than tellin’ the truth
Truth is the perfect disguise
I'm occasionally a bit of a cranky grouch, but I promise, I mean well.
As far as my departure from Twitter goes, I also used to goof around pretending to be the death knight Lord Soth in the “Twitterloft” group. I’m not sure I want to continue that, but I’m looking for the others so I can give them a follow.
After watching every crypto-creeper, fascist and Russian agitprop crawl into the light and don a blue checkmark, I’m left musing that I’ve never seen rats run INTO a burning building before...

Goodbye Twitter
I finally deactivated my Barovian Chicken and Waffles Twitter feed after Musk’s latest antics. Three years of OC content for Barovia, jokes with fellow Twitterloft friends (now Tumblrloft), and character growth are basically gone.
I did export my Twitter feed so I have an archive, but it won’t be the same. I have a useful reference, but rebuilding that on another site (e.g. Tumblr) isn’t easy as context is often list.
On the other hand, I just can’t stand Twitter anymore. I kept hoping that it would get better, but it just kept hitting new lows. It just got more and more gross.
Further, it’s a chance to start over in rebuilding Oleksii’s OC lore on Tumblr and turn a new leaf. If you are new to this Tumblr feed, you’ll likely see some explanation posts, recap posts or whatever.
Oleksii is still trapped in the Mists, and has much to grumble about.
