Okay, not really

Hi! I'm Andrew Ferguson (@dominateeye) and I run this blog. This is an information sheet and FAQ page for You VS.

So what is this blog?

This blog is a fake part of a fake tourism campaign for my micronation-slash-Minecraft-server-turned-NationStates-nation, the Union of Virtual States (I know NS calls it a Federation and that WILL change once I can set a custom nation title). Basically what I want to do here is reblog (properly sourced) images and videos that seem like they could come from the UVS. I might occasionally write posts about the UVS as well, probably from a tourism campaign perspective. I'm not sure yet.

What is the Union of Virtual States?

The Union of Virtual States, in its first incarnation, was a micronation I and a friend of mine created around his Minecraft Realms server in the UK during the summer of 2015. We soon moved to our own server, and began to construct our nation. Another friend of ours got involved, and together, we founded the first three Virtual States (Libertas, Qabala, and Feldir) and established a National Government to unite them. (The name did come before the establishment of the three original states, but not before the idea to use a state system.)

In the summer of 2017, I moved from the UK back to my home in the US, and though we kept the server running for another six months or so, we never finished setting up and never opened the server to the public as planned, and eventually decided to shut it down as we had lost interest in the Minecraft aspect. On Thursday, February 14, 2019, I decided to take the assets we created and use them to create the UVS in NationStates. Since then, I have been creating a canon around the NationStates version of the UVS. The current canon is viewable on the UVS NationStates page, under "Factbook".

Can I share your original content that I find on this blog?

Yes! As long as you don't use it to impersonate any government apparatus of the UVS, and you don't attempt to profit off of it or use it in anything that will generate profit for you without reaching an agreement with me first. If you'd like to contact me about that, send this blog a message via Tumblr messaging or send this blog an ask off-anon. For the record, I only claim ownership over content I create myself.

Something I created is on this blog and it's not credited right. Do something about it.
