Important Mod News! I have some news about my “old”/ ”new” project. This includes some bad and some good news. I’ve been thinking about this for a long time now so warning long post ahead! What is the “Paws & Claws” mod? This is not a new mod project it’s based on the project most people know as “Animal Shelter Pack”. So why the name change? You can find the answer under the cut!

Why did I rename the project? The focus of this project has shifted a lot over the last few years. I’ve been drifting more and more towards modding and away from Recolors and Mesh Edits. This project is my never ending WIP that I still love and don’t want to abandon but part of why I took long breaks was that I got burned out on the CC creation part.  So I wanted a fresh start with a new name and get rid of the “old expectations”. Additionally this project now focuses on Animal gameplay in general - not only animal shelters!

So what does this mean? I’ll close down the side blog and old testing blog and mod updates can be found on Twitter & Discord from now on. Additionally I’ll retire some CC WIPs and probably release some of the finished pieces separately. Some items will have new gameplay attached to them and be part of the mod. So that’s basically it for the “bad news”. So now onto the good news! I recreated most parts of the animal shelter gameplay from scratch, fixed a lot of issues and added quality of life improvements - more infos about that soon! The animal preferences are also ready for release so you can expect those as a first module soon. The rest will be added part by part and split into modules you can mix & match - this means some stuff will work even without the Cats & Dogs EP and I added some addons for MFPS and COL. The animal shelter gameplay will still be a big part of the mod so I’ll expand it over time - a first version that will allow you to run a shelter will hopefully be available soon after I ironed out some last few issues. Thank you for all your support over the last few years! I’m a little anxious how you all will react to these news but on the other hand I’m excited to share more infos and screenshots soon. I hope you won’t be too disappointed and I can’t wait to finally share this project and see what you’ll do with it in your game!

I got the privilege of testing out the @animalshelterstuffpack by @chippedcupanddustybooks and everything is looking great! (Cashew loves her new bed 🐶💕) Super excited for the final release :)
