I can't stop thinking about the Watcher thing it's just so fascinatingly bizarre . like so many components of that decision and how they handled it were so bad and so completely out of left field for how they've operated in the past I am baffled . Someone put these guys under a microscope Stat

#i deserve this. after the absolute trainwreck of emotions yesterday (far too raw therapy session -> super interesting translation workshop #-> covid scare)#the highs are high the lows are low odi et amo etc etc #still reeling over that translation talk though. i love you language.#it was so so funny there were only about 15 minutes between the first two i was still sniffling and talking about puns in different cultures #give it up for the metro for managing to get me home in just 15 minutes

The vtuber enjoyer community is currently learning why multi-channel networks didn't work back in the old days of YouTube, except in the present day it's somehow even more fucked because the companies also own their channels and revenue sources and IP.

#vtuber stuff #i do love creators currently in corporations rn but there is a part of me that is annoyed that the only reason theyre so big is due to money #money as in start up costs and advertising and merch production etc etc #and then you cant really publicly advertise that channel is connected to you and your work #which is double fucked if you leave/get fired/whatever after some time and after a certain point dont even get residuals #cant really put it on your resume either and since its a niche of a niche less-online jobs just dont count it as experience without proof #its such cool technology (even just live 2d tracking) but the barrier to entry and ceiling of quality keeps getting higher even year #not to mention the power that these companies have over their talents in the way the industry is currently configured #its even more fucked if you start thinking on a systematic level #but yeah the current nijisanji PR trainwreck is a special kind of fucked #bullying and isolating their talent to the point of a suicide attempt? im not an expert in Canadian law but im pretty sure thats illegal #at the very least niji continually calling selens emergency contact (and probably hospital) to make a statement is probably against the law #seriously hope selen/doki and her family gets some legal consult because this is so fucked up #and the way they fired her is also probably illegal under canadian law

the way i am almost physically restraining myself from commenting on a reddit thread to explain that pride isn't some cutesy-wutesy fun little parade that happens for no reason

#for more context it's a post asking why there are no pride parades in armenia #the correct answer is that armenian society is queer-phobic #both in armenia proper and in the diaspora but ig this question is about the country specifically #but jfc there is only like one comment in the thread saying this #the other comments are highkey a trainwreck #it's so fucking insidious too #the way they treat queerness #like it just feels like there's a vague sense of disdain that you never want to push #and it becomes so isolating #which is the point #if you feel isolated you won't search for community #if there's no community there's no potential for change #a bunch of candles can become a roaring fire but a lone candle will be snuffed out in the dark etc etc #or maybe it's more like this:#you feel like you're a lone tree surrounded by miles and miles of barren desert #when in reality you are one of many trees in a forest #anyway! spent all my typing energy on this so i achieved my goal of not commenting on reddit 🎉

#looked at my pay statements and felt the horrifying spectre of capitalism and american healthcare grip my soul #dont get me wrong. really like my job for the most part.#but getting paid barely above min wage to wipe ass + get assaulted + doing shit outside my jurisdiction bc none of the travel nurses care #is Fucking Rough #CNAs should make 20 bucks an hr MINIMUM.#our chairman (CEO) makes more money than fucking god #and they are slashing our unit's (likely one of the most important units in the hospital) budget. they send us the most trainwreck fuckin #patients in the entire hospital- when they need to go to the damn ICU.#AND AND ANNNDD. Our unit is one of the oldest at our hospital- it is outdated as shit. none of the rooms have bathrooms/showers + no fuckin #windows. shitty sliding glass doors. AC thats CONSTANTLY breaking. etc etc etc. and they charge the patients for a fucking ICU bed!!!!!!!#the actual ICU is like the fucking Ritz. the rooms are enormous and new and the windows are big enough that patients dont get hospital #delirium within 24 hrs.#i hate this hospital with a passion ❤️
