Yo, whassup! Name's Adam (He/him) I'm 35 and specialize in electric types! I'm originally from Nimbasa, but moved to Opelucid, so I could be closer to my job!
I'm the landscaper and gardener here, and my trusty Mowing rotom, Flux, helps me with my job. I enjoy battling, but my real passion is music. You might catch me playing guitar on my downtime within the cemetery grounds. You're welcome to pop by and say hi!
Hello everyone... My name is Tiffany, I'm 27 and use she/they pronouns. I was born in Sinnoh, but moved in with my 2nd dad here in Unova.
I'm a greeter here and help guide people through the grounds to find their loved one's graves. I don't battle, but I do have a service mon, my alakazam, Kaza, as well as an Espurr and a Munna. I like psychic types and even have some psychic abilities, however, they cause... problems for me sometimes. I have absence seizures so if it ever looks like I'm staring off into space and completely still, don't fret please, that's what Kaza is here for.

You are correct in both ways - I have indeed thought up a -shipping name, and it is indeed voidkissedshipping ^-^ it's a bit long but I think it is still appropriate, given the significance of the void-kissed bit to not only my selfship as a whole, but also my connection to Reborn in the first place.
For completeness' sake, I will also give the -shipping names of my other Pokémon selfships:
Elena x Adriana (elenadri) is nightskyshipping, because of Elena's pre-Elite Four battle monologue about the beauty of birds in the night sky. I think this is probably my favourite of the three, honestly.
N x Nova (there's no nice way of mashing these two together..) is trueidealshipping, because Nova is chosen by Reshiram while N is chosen by Zekrom. You would absolutely think that this was already a coined name for a pre-existing pairing, and it honestly probably is, but I remember looking it up once and not actually finding anything for it, so.. I figured why not take it~

I specify my selfship as being set in Pokémon Black specifically because, in my version of events, N is the hero of ideals and is chosen by Zekrom while my self-insert Nova is the hero of truth and is chosen by Reshiram. In Pokémon Masters, the Reshiram featured in the N and Reshiram anniversary sync pair is Nova's.
After the events of Unova's story have finished, N and Nova eventually go to Sinnoh (which is where Nova is originally from) and set up a Pokémon sanctuary together near Eterna Forest.

So, the discord server I'm in was talking about pokemon insurgence, which reminded me of how I disliked Nora back then. Looking back, she really wasn't that bad, but I think the game still did her dirty. ESPECIALLY when she ended up having the damsel in distress in the end ( as I was told, I don't think I ever finished the game). So, after that lil convo, I decided to try and redesign Nova and rework some of her already existing aspects. Keep in mind, I haven't played the game in years, and I'm just going off memory and what I've been told. So without further ado....
Nora! Let's first discuss what I did to her story ( from what I could gather) first.
I don't believe it was ever specified when Nora was chosen by Celebi. We just assume that she has been before the player and Damian. In this version of her, she has been chosen by Celebi for a while. Long enough for her to train and try and master her abilities. Despite this, she'd rather not be the one of the prophecy. She prefers peace over conflict, and the burden and stress of being a chosen one has been on her shoulders for assumedly years. It's worse given how she thought she was the only one. The only one who could carry this burden. It was a lonely experience, even with Celebi. Though, despite this, this loneliness gave her a bit of an ego too. She's strong, smart and resourceful and is tasked with essentially saving the world. This gives her an air of self importance, even when she's trying to do the good thing. Overall, Nora is not a bad person. It's just that she gets stuck in her head sometimes, being burdened with the task at hand. She's quick to realize her faults, and actively works to rectify them.
As for her design change, I wanted to portray her as an experienced trainer. The more muted colors that Damian had I gave to her, especially since her whole thing is that she's trying not to have eyes on her. Also why she has a hat now: she wants to keep on herself hidden until she literally can't.
Because I did Nora, I decided to do Damian too!
Left ( cardigan) is pre-shaymin Damian and right is post Shaymin Damian.
I! Don't exactly have any rewrites for Damien tbh. If I ever played the game again, maybe, but for now I was focusing on his parallel to Nora. While Nora is someone who sees being chosen as a burden, but does it anyway, Damian is someone who wants to be someone important,yet lacks the skills to do so. Shaymin coming to him was the best thing that happened to him, cause it meant that he was meant for something, not just a lonely kid from Telnor.
Bc of this, I ended up giving Damian's clothes more pop to juxtapose Nora's color scheme- especially when they're color schemes are so similar. I also gave Damian some pink in his design, to tie himself more with Shaymin. I should also note that Damian looks more like Shaymin than Nora looks like Celebi. This is intentional. Nora knows that people are after her and thus doesn't want to resemble Celebi too much. The most she does is wear a necklace resembling a clock( not shown in the picrew). Damien, eager to finally mean something, is more obvious. Not completely on the nose, but if you know what you are looking for, his clothes are a red flag. Again,just wanted to show the contrast of these two.
Also yeah I have Damian freckles bc why not. Whittle guy.
Aaaand yeah, that's it lol. Hope you guys liked this ramble. I must stress I haven't played insurgence in literal years, so I'm going off what people tell me here for Nora's rewrite. Hopefully you like her well enough!

hello everybody, your friendly annoying spaniard is back with more references to spanish culture in pokemon scarlet and violet! here's my previous post btw!
also i'm really thankful for how much y'all are enjoying these :) i'm thinking maybe after i finish the game i could do posts going over the names of the places and the new pokemon designs and their tie-ins into spanish culture (if there's any)!
anyways, let's start!
first of all, just as its leader, medali just looks like your average bland spanish city, that could have been inspired by a thousand different cities across the country. except... there's roman ruins in there! due to its location and general look, i would say the main inspiration for this city is mérida, which is known as the roman capital of spain. founded in 25 BC as augusta emerita, it became the capital of the lusitania province during the roman empire, and it's the best preserved roman city in the country (i went to excavate there for three weeks and loved it there, i really recommend it!). the roman ruins are a unesco world heritage site, and its most recognizable monument is actually the theatre [pic 5], where there's roman-style plays are still performed (i've seen three there and its an unreal experience). due to the look of the theatre in game, it could also be a reference to other roman theatres in the country like bilbilis [pic 6], carthago nova [pic 7], or segobriga's [pic 8].
all of mount glaseado trainers have basque names!!! i don't know if this is the same in the english version, but this is a very neat detail that prepares you for montenevera, which i'll talk about down below. before that tho, i want to redirect you to this post by the incredible blog @beautiful-basque-country where they talk in depth about all references to basque culture in the games! i'll touch on them as well but of course not as good as them :)
anyways, montenevera. just to start, in spanish the name of the town is 'hozkailu town'; 'hozkailu' is 'fridge' in basque (just as 'nevera' is fridge in spanish). the architecture of the town is also reminiscent of basque architecture, with all houses looking like baserri, the traditional houses of that area. the cold setting is also a reference to basque country, being colder than other regions in spain and mount glaseado being a reference to the pyreenees; the westernmost part of them lie in euskal herria (the basque land).
i also love the detail of the candles in honour of the deceased, i don't know how extended is this tradition or if it's practiced in other countries (i imagine it's not uncommon in catholic places???) but at least in my family on the anniversary of a family death we lit up a candle in the house in their memory :)
another fun thing referencing basque culture is that the mc in the gym (i have no idea what his name in the english version is, in the spanish one he's mc bull-a which is fun) speaks in a 'basquified' way, using basque ortography while speaking spanish (switching ch for tx or c for k for example!)
AND BETTER THAN THAT, THE GYM TRAINERS ARE REFERENCES TO SPANISH MUSIC THEMSELVES!!!! i genuinely didn't think i was gonna see amaia montero in a pokemon game, but here we are i guess. anyways, the first trainer, who's named mikel, a basque name (maybe a reference to mikel erentxun?) references the incredibly bop and cultural phenomenon that was uno más uno son siete by fran perea, which served as the opening song for one of the most beloved spanish tv shows ever (it's kinda like our f.r.i.e.n.d.s or, now that i think about it, more like how i met your mother due to the atrocious ending). he talks about 'one plus one not being two' (the song's title translates to 'one plus one is seven'), and directly quotes the song when defeated. i cannot emphazise how incredibly cool and great this is, literally the peak of pokemon. i cannot put into words what i felt when i saw it in game.
but nothing, and i repeat, NOTHING, could have prepared me for the next trainer... she's literally amaia montero, who was the singer of probably the most influencial group in spain from the 2000's (there's no group i can compare it with so you can understand the magnitude of it, maybe paramore but i'm biased cause they're both my favourite groups ever lol): la oreja de van gogh. it is jukebox musical-worthy iconic, that's the grip this band has on spanish society. i was gonna choose one song of them to show to y'all but i simply cannot link only one, so here's a post a made some years ago of my top 25 lodvg songs, please listen to at least one of them you won't be disappointed. anyways, yeah. even the model looks like amaia lol.
finally, i wanted to talk about the real lore behind the history classes for a while, but i always forget lol. i was gonna make a comment in a previous post about the paldean empire being a reference to both the roman and spanish empires but i dismissed it as being too obvious of a reference (like talking about the tauros regional form which... you know, i don't think i even have to talk about it lol). i didn't took a screenshot of it, but in one of the classes she also talks about the origin of the academy, saying that it was 805 years old, being the oldest in the region. well, the oldest university in spain, the university of salamanca, has 804 years (it was founded in 1218! also maybe this means they were planning on releasing the game next year?)

Is somehow able to attract Dragon Type Pokemon to her and easily tame them
Was given a Flapple by Gene that she's named Gala
Also given a chimera Zorua from an unknown trainer
Went on a mission to stop a machine called the Archeus 100 years in a future version of Area Zero that would have destroyed multiple timelines
