When you take Clara Bow as the last song on the 1st album and consider The Anthology afterwards as the 2nd, and then realise that “How Did It End?” is a track 5... Suddenly it all makes sense-

I’m not sure if it’s on purpose or not but I love that Artists like Maisie Peters continue Taylor Swift’s tradition of making the most vulnerable song on the album Track Five.

now that i'm sittin' here thinkin' it through...holdin' on, the days drag on...i see it all now that you're gone...now i walk home alone...the more i think about it now, the less i know...we can't make any promises now can we, babe...all of my heroes die all alone, help me hold on to you...when i'd fight, you used to tell me i was brave...i wait by the door like i'm just a kid...you're on your own, kid

here it is!! I haven't listened to the 3am tracks yet so that will be next
Lavender Haze: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, omfg that bassline
Maroon: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the last chorus!!!!, "real fucking legacy"
Anti-hero: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, "hi", the upbeat depression, self-loathing anthem we needed
Snow On The Beach (feat. Lana): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, grower, love her lower range here, "weird but fucking beautiful", also my first Lana song!
You're On Your Own, Kid: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, I'm fucking crying, did she write my life???!?!, the bridge!!!!!
Midnight Rain: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, gives me rep vibes, I wish it was raining when I listened to it but alas I live in a semi-desert, in my top five
Question...?: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the cheering?, "fucking politics and gender roles", the OOTW sample!!?!, "dickhead"
Vigilante Shit: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, nbnc's sister, holy mother of fuck, "on my vigilante shit again", Billie Eilish vibes
Bejeweled: ⭐⭐⭐, not my fave, gives the same vibes as one song from the Mockingjay part 1 soundtrack, genius crashed as I was listening so I have no lyrics for this one
Labyrinth: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the archer's sister, the start ❤️, I feel like I could sleep to this one, "uh oh, I'm falling in love again" - me everytime lol, the last pre <3
Karma: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the distortion!!, "I'm still here", "Karma is a cat", I'm in love, synths!!, "me and karma vibe like that"
Sweet Nothing: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, a sad bop, Joe!!!, the intro <3, sweet, the oohs!!
Mastermind: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, "checkmate, I couldn't lose", love it, "you knew I was a mastermind", one fo my faves

the way she makes the "you're on your own, kid, you always have been" line mean two completely different things the first and last time she says it. the first time it's you're on your own, kid, you always have been, because no one cared about you enough to stay. and the last time it's you're on your own, kid, you always have been, and yet you survived, and yet you flourished and you are strong enough to keep doing this until you find someone who will be true to you. and i think that's one of the most beautiful messages of the album

If anti-hero its about learning how to be the person you are even with all the things you hate about yourself and its track 3, then what the fuck the track five talks about.

Contrary to popular belief, taylor swift's saddest songs aren't among the track fives. The saddest songs (the only songs which have ever made me cry) are Soon You'll Get Better, Ronan and Nothing New. Fight me.
