bug of the day (march 7 2023)

The Cassidinae or tortoise beetle is apart of the Chrysomelidae family. These bugs get their nickname from their domed carapace that looks like a upper shell of a tortoise. many of these beetles have the ability to turn from shiny to matte and varying colors within seconds! this happens due to the movement of fluid within the cuticle. it is unknown wether this ability is used for mating or some sort of way to avoid predators. Another cool characteristic of tortoise beetles is a "umbrella" the the larva make from feces/frass. they can also adjust the position of their "umbrella" so that it can face a predator almost acting as a shield (hence the feces it also has a stench that keeps predators away) for more info on this amazing bug please visit the link below :D

My “Canon” Rahi List

Alright you guys asked for it (no you didn’t, but you’re getting it anyways,) my list of Rahi that I would consider Canon creatures. Or if nothing else, the Rahi I would make as fight-able NPC’s in Bionicle Ages. The keen-eyed will notice a lack of smaller Rahi, ones that have more to do with the environment instead of something that Makuta could easily infect with masks. You may also notice I’ve made it a lot easier to recognize what kind of animal we’re talking about by adding a description of the Rahi after it’s Matoran name, e.g. Dikapi Bird instead of just Dikapi.
