Dark Ranger, smirking: So... you and that mage a thing now, huh?
Sylvanas, narrowing her eyes: Whatever delusions you have heard, think nothing of them.
Dark Ranger: Uh-huh. Hey, what do bees produce?
Sylvanas: ...Honey?
Jaina, from across the room: Yeah?
Dark Ranger: Don't ever lie to me again.

@tornvoid inquired: random Headcanon question: what type oif voice do you think Miranda has?
(( In a gesture that will surprise absolutely no one: I don’t consider Miranda’s canon VA to be what my Miranda sounds like. I suppose it does work for canon Miranda and her design, but when it comes to the redesign... Well, it just doesn’t work.
Namely, because Miranda doesn’t exactly have the same vocal setup as a human. I still need to more fully decide on how exactly it works in all of the fine details, but her vocal cords include a large, complex organ in her chest that partially extends up her throat, the existence of which partially explains why Miranda’s chest and neck both are so much larger than that of a human’s. Merfolk are pretty big, even if Miranda’s still short and small by merfolk standards — and they’re especially good at long-distance conversation through a liquid medium. They have a wider range of sound than a human, including sounds that are too high for human ears to hear, as well as sounds that are too low for human ears to hear, but most of their sounds do occupy the lower range, for the reasons discussed above.
So I like to imagine my Miranda actually has a fairly deep voice? Hers is more smooth than growl-y, and speaks with a lot of confidence to her words, which is a rather far departure from the more canon-typical voice! I wouldn’t really know how to find a VA to match her, not without mixing something up for her in specific, just because it’s really not a human-sounding voice at all, more like what you might imagine a crocodile and a tiger would sound like in combination, with a little bit of whale sprinkled in for flavor, if any could speak.
There’s also the matter of Miranda’s accent. She does try to hide hers, to more closely match how the people around her sound and how they pronounce words, but you’ll notice that if she ever gets really excited or really upset, she’ll start to gain her accent back again, as she’s not putting in as much effort to hide it. This is another one that’s complicated to explain, just due to us not having anything else to compare it to, but I always liken it to music? As in, she’ll pull out some syllables into sounds that almost sound like musical notes, or she’ll add in little trills and chirrs to make the sounds “dance”, or she’ll switch up how she stresses her words to make them form patterns, like she’s forcing everything she says to take on iambic pentameter. There’s also quite often a lot of growls to her words - where, how they’re normally pronounced, you can feel them vibrate in the throat, but she’ll go a step further and actually growl in her chest, producing a deeper and richer sound. Miranda actually tends to speak a lot more “from her chest” than the others around her, which is partially explained by just how she’s making those words, but also by force of habit and how she’s used to speaking.
That said, however — Miranda really does try to hide all of these little quirks and things about her that make listening to her speak unique. Largely because this is the first time any landfolk are speaking to a merfolk, and Miranda gets REALLY uncomfortable if people make a show of not being able to understand her or acting weird because of how she sounds. Merfolk, being so vocal in nature, tend to really err towards making sure they’re understood, and especially as a royal, Miranda cannot STAND to have herself be misunderstood or misinterpreted. It’s also why she doesn’t actually introduce herself using her real name, and instead settles with “Miranda Vanderbilt” - because most landfolk don’t have the vocal cords to say her name properly, and it’s less rude to just call her something entirely different than it is to mispronounce her title and her real name.

Super thank god! I thought they were going to a cast her with a light-skinned girl. If it wasn’t for Hodge and Coogler I believe Disney would colorstrike all the MCU black actors.

❛ Don't let the bastards grind you down. ❜ Wanda mumbled softly, she didn’t look up from her work to look at Hazel as she said this. She had her attention focused on a clipboard, she was doing inventory of the items in her shop. She meant when she said that, it was a lesson that she had to learn the hard way herself.
If she could offer someone a piece of advice that could help them, and make sure they don't have to go through what she had to, Wanda will hand out advice willingly. Especially for people she cared for, and despite how much Hazel could be a pain in Wanda's ass, she did care about Hazel. "You shouldn't allow anyone to tear you down, and make you feel lesser."

I’ve sort of mentioned this in a mini drabble I wrote for syl/vaina, that Sylvanas is a hugger. You could see it in the Three Sisters comic where she hugged Vereesa and how she often did so with Lirath. That just gives us another glimpse on who she was before undeath and I just absolutely love that little detail. It makes me even more emotional for her, and I just wanna cry thinking about how, as the Banshee Queen, being touched would repulse her and prompt her to lash out in defense. The biggest reason having to do with trust issues, obviously, because Arthas had messed her up so badly to the point where she literally thinks everyone is a threat... especially those who tries to get too close for her personal comfort. She’d just automatically assume they’re doing it, so they could get an opening to stab her in the back.
The other reason is being that she absolutely abhors the way she looks-- which also adds to the reason why she sees almost everyone as a threat, because in her mind... she’s thinking: who could be attracted to this horror? So of course, I doubt you genuinely want to get close to me.
Jaina is the only one outside of her sisters that is able to break through that barrier with little effort compared to others, because they both understand one other’s trauma and the betrayal they suffered. Sylvanas knew Jaina had no reason to backstab her, despite that Sylvanas may have done some questionable things in the role of the Banshee Queen that aren’t forgivable in others’ perspective. Jaina is definitely better than that. Sure, it’d be one hell of a rocky start and effort put in sorting their trust issues out... but Jaina would undoubtedly the first of the very few that’d ever get physically and emotionally close to Sylvanas.

who’s genius idea was it to turn the saint’s tower top floor into a penthouse? theirs, for once. their once in awhile genius idea. but, to be fair, eli can hold the title as the genius. the boss enjoys being the murder and mayhem expert. it’s fun for the most part, minus the one time their roommates god kidnapped and shit. boss’ arm is over the back of the couch, a glass of wine in the other hand. they can afford something other than bland beer now. what a life. their slightly manspread thighs shift closer together for the visitor to enjoy couch room too. best couch in the penthouse. shit, look at that view of santo ileso. they just weren’t expecting the affection.
“ — i was gonna horde this whole damn bottle of wine to myself. wine drunk is a whole new fucking ballpark. but, if you ask nicely, i’ll give you a whole glass. ” that is both a joke and not a joke. the boss’ arm moves off the back of the couch, gloved hand resting over brook’s shin. their finger just tucking into an ever growing hole of those nylons.
brook sat next to Boss, laying their black nylon covered legs on the person's lap. » random inbox invasion ( @tornvoid ).

@tornvoid ♡’d for a starter (weapon hex)
{☆} “This is not your REALITY, stranger,” Clea notes casually, arching a pale brow. Her book is set to the side, closing itself NEATLY on the table beside her. Of course she’s on GUARD, ready to respond to a FIGHT in a matter of seconds--if that’s what it came down to.
But she’s not so sure about this ONE.
Moving from her perch, she hovers lightly in the air, arms folded across her chest.
UNUSUAL.
“You’re not known here--but your presence is...FAMILIAR.” Blue eyes scan the figure, trying to get a read on the familiar aura radiating around her when it dawns on her.
“Wanda.”
The name is a whisper on her lips but she smiles slightly, holding her palms up as if to show she meant no HARM. After all, chances were, the name meant nothing to the girl after all.
“Why are you here?”

‘ why did you book us one room? ’ - Laura Kinney @tornvoid
Wanda swallowed at the reply as she eyed the woman next to her. ❝ What?! I thought there would be two beds, ❞ she said in her defense. ❝ Besides how are we suppose to get to know each other from different rooms? ❞ she asked walking in and making herself at home. ❝ It’s not like we can’t fix that issue, ❞ she said eyeing her.
