I think they have their place. This thought brings me to the SureAI team and the fact that their stuff is built off Oblivion/Skyrim already gives them engine and resources to work from and can focus on working on other stuff. This stuff also existing on a game a lot of people already have puts in the eye of a lot more people. Definitely want to look for branching out into their own thing too
first thanks for the legit answer. I am not shaming them for existing but i just... its more a fear of losing their progress cause so many companies dont care if things are free if it infringes on their things they own like the metroid remake
but yea they have a place to exist

Fallout was indirectly this for me, because I learned of Fallout from an older gaming cousin of mine who, in turn, learned of Fallout by pure accident when his mom picked the wrong game for him at the store, and he ended up loving it (Fallout 1).

OH GOD, DUDE, MASQUERADE.
This is the exact same experience a friend at school had, and that kickstarted his horror pseudo-goth phase, I shit you not, I have A LOT of fond memories of Masquerade Bloodlines for a lot of reasons.

This absolute dumpster fire of a game.
NEVER play this. It’s not even “funny terrible”, it’s just straight up Bad. The single most boring and uninteresting game I’ve ever played.
Fun Fact: This game has INCREDIBLE voice acting. The localization team apparently saw at this steaming pile of shit they were handed, and, you know, it was in the U.S. Anime Boom era, so EVERYTHING was being localized, and they said “well this sucks, let’s just blow the whole budget on great voice actors” and they got a TON of top-of-the-line voice talent on it, so playing the English version of Mimana Iyar Chronicles is jarring because literally everything is terrible, except the voice acting, which is hilariously over-competent.

It feels like either they feel like they don’t need to anymore since they now have so much KH characters and mythology it stand on its own…. or Disney pulling some strings a la MvC Infinite
I can see Disney taking over like how they ruined Infinite yeah.
Honestly I don’t buy the “they don’t need to anymore” because the FF characters were never even really needed. A lot of them were there as NPCs to talk to or some friends to help Sora along and had no real bearing on the plot, so they could have just kept this up in KH3.
Having them be missing entirely was pretty dumb imo

Iirc Bedivere is a pruned timeline pick precedent, or it was something like only a summoner who was in that timeline can allow the use of Argetlann
It seems similar, but I think the biggest difference is that a Singularity is confined to a point (more or less) and still “close enough” to be recognised as part of one big history, while a Lostbelt is too different and count as a completely separate one.
Near the end of Lost01 apparently Atalanta and da Vinci discuss how Atalanta will be erased forever if the Lostbelt’s “reality” win, erased from the Throne (and it’s implied it will be the fate of all recorded Heroes).
Maybe Ivan lines will clarify the situation a bit (and maybe there’s hope to reinstall the Lostbelts as parallel, not invading worlds? Or moving their population and heroes somewhere safe?)

tonberrycrunch: idk how spoiler filled it'd be to specifically look for this information, but as I recall the overly angry Fray is a creation of the English translation whereas the original is a much sadder Fray not wanting the weight of our deeds and just wanting to go back to anonymity and being just another nameless adventurer
Ah, okay.
I still feel that doesn’t mesh with the personality I gave my character. I mean, what if your character is supremely proud and loves all the attention? What if they just like to fight everything they can? What if they just genuinely enjoy protecting people?
The narrative angle it goes for only works for a character that’s only a hero out of a sense of duty or moral obligation, and resents being relied on.

the barest bones of research says she has a lance that can unhorse anyone it strikes what are you talking about bradamnte??
yeah its weird. especially since her connection to astolfo is one of the main reasons im even invested in her, yet they seem determined to avoid talking about it. her only line for astolfo is short and comedic, she never mentions the fire horse he gave her even when talking about how she could be summoned as a rider, and she claims she doesn’t have a lance when its a very well known part of her legend that astolfo gave her his.

SMT/Persona osts, I know there's some choice tracks in there :V
Picking one song is too haaaard. T_T
If I have to pick one P4 track I would be completely unoriginal and say Heaven. For P3... probably Battle for Everyone’s Souls. Excellent song, which is good because that fight takes forever.
Not picking any non-Persona stuff. The only general Megaten I’ve put a decent amount of time into are the Devil Survivors, and I can’t actually think of any tracks I really loved from those off the top of my head. Maybe I’ll post some later or something.
