Concert
Even though Makalaure is the musical prodigy of the family, Maitimo still spent a good part of his youth mastering his instrument, and he likes to perform to his small audience.
Lalwen likes to listen to her nephew whenever she has the chance and Maglor, well, he likes not being the performer from time to time.+

For @tolkiengenweek day 7: extra day, cause I have no idea how to categorise it.

@tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweek day one | the valar & the orixĂĄs
Then those of the Ainur who desired it arose and entered into the World at the beginning of Time; and it was their task to achieve it, and by their labours to fulfil the vision which they had seen. Long they laboured in the regions of EĂ€, which are vast beyond the thought of Elves and Men, until in the time appointed was made Arda, the Kingdom of Earth. Then they put on the raiment of Earth and descended into it, and dwelt therein.Â
âThe Silmarillion, âValaquentaâ
The Valar are here represented by a selection of the OrixĂĄs deities of the Yoruba religion. All the images were created by Brazilian photographer Tiago Santâanna, and edited by me.
Not every Vala is represented, as I only had so much material and space; also included is Uinen, who is a Maia, not a Vala, but still one of the most powerful Ainur. Likewise, not every OrixĂĄ is included.
Uinen is represented by Iemanjå; Yavanna is represented by Oxum; Aulë is represented by XangÎ; Tulkas is represented by Ogum; Nessa is represented by Iansã; Oromë is represented by Oxóssi. They are all loosely connected to their Orixå deity by their aesthetics and domain of power.
ManwĂ« and VĂĄnaâs images are not (as far as I can tell) actually artistic representations of the OrixĂĄ, but rather some inspiring photography on other topics, but I wanted to include them as well.

A very quick digital version of an old sketch of Melkorâs design based on Tezcatlipoca for @tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweek
(I donât know how any of you managed to post today. Iâve been trying all day and I keep getting a âfailed to uploadâ error both on pc and app. Thanks Elon...)

Day 3 @tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweek (Elves): Ben 'Zaa Vanyar
Ben 'Zaa are an indigenous people who live mostly in Oaxaca, Mexico. They are also known as Zapotec. Ben 'Zaa is the pre-hispanic name meaning cloud people, which made me think of Vanyar living on the slopes of Taniquetil, so here are Findis and Indis.
Part 10 of toi's indigenous tolkien series
[image description: one woman sitting and one woman standing, their dresses have traditional flower patterns. behind is stone ruins (Monte AlbĂĄn, ancient Ben 'Zaa site) and rows of words in gold and black. Words are Vanyar, Valmar, Taniquetil, Cloud People, Ben 'Zaa. At the bottom is text on fluffy white backgrounds, says 'Cloud People' and 'Ben 'Zaa'. end image description]

Me: "I'll be posting through the week"
Also me: *forgets to post at all*
Anyway, the other day I went out and took some pictures!!! These are basically my hobbit fashion headcanons because I just know in my heart they would wear this. All of these are locally produced, mostly hand-made. I was given permission to take the pictures and share them.
So, yeah! There you have it. Most of these are traditionally for women but you got some shirts for men as well. I would've love to take a pictures of more but I forgot lmao. There was one with an embroidered hummingbird I really liked. My mom also bought a wool handbag traditionally woven. I would show you but she gifter it to someone.
I might post some other stuff later, but I've learned my lesson. I won't be making any promises lol. @tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweek nwn

@tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweek day three | elves | fingolfin
Then Fingolfin beheld (as it seemed to him) the utter ruin of the Noldor, and the defeat beyond redress of all their houses; and filled with wrath and despair he mounted upon Rochallor his great horse and rode forth alone, and none might restrain him. He passed over Dor-nu-Fauglith like a wind amid the dust, and all that beheld his onset fled in amaze, thinking that Orome himself was come: for a great madness of rage was upon him, so that his eyes shone like the eyes of the Valar.

@tolkienlatamandcaribbeanweekâ day two | places â nature | aysĂ©n, chile as the lammoth
It has been told that FĂ«anor and his sons came first of the Exiles to Middle-earth, and landed in the waste of Lammoth, the Great Echo, upon the outer shores of the Firth of Drengist. And even as the Noldor set foot upon the strand their cries were taken up into the hills and multiplied, so that a clamour as of countless mighty voices filled all the coasts of the North; and the noise of the burning of the ships at Losgar went down the winds of the sea as a tumult of great wrath, and far away all who heard that sound were filled with wonder.

2. A serious Kichwa woman (Vaire)
3. Part of a Quechua tapestry
4. A woman leaning over a traditional loom
