A reminder that Tim Drake does not have a "blonde type" like Dick Grayson has a "redhead type"

I swear to all that's canon, people look at Steph and Bernard and just assume Tim has a thing for blondes. Let's recap, shall we?

I’m sorry, this is a hill I will die on.

Tim Drake does not have a “thing” for blondes.

Tim’s first girlfriend was Ariana Dzerchenko, a Ukrainian-American girl with black hair and brown eyes. During an arc where she thought Tim might prefer blondes because she saw Tim looking at Stephanie at a funeral they both attended, she tried dying her hair blonde, and while Tim attempted to be supportive of the change, he ultimately admitted he preferred it black.

Tim also went on a date with the daughter of Chinese immigrants... Jubilation Lee... from Xmen... of Marvel comics. They almost never mention it again, because, you know, crossover with another company, but it is canon, and Jubilee does cross universes to see him again only for him to admit that he’s seeing someone else now and that cross-universe dating probably was never going to work and they end up just being good friends instead. Honestly, they were a very cute couple, and she might be my favorite Tim het ship, which is just tragic with how impossible it is.

Tim doesn’t dislike blondes, however, after all, Steph is his second girlfriend and she is very much blonde and blue eyed.

Tim’s 3rd girlfriend is Cassie Sandsmark, who he started dating after Conner died. Cassie is also blonde and blue eyed, though this relationship was notably initially primarily fueled by grief, though Tim’s dated her in the n52 and in adaptations without this context.

Tim’s 4rd girlfriend is Zoanne Wilkins, and African American girl from one of his high schools with black hair and brown eyes. They were a little on-and-off, and at times Zoanne seemed a bit inexplicable, but Tim genuinely liked her.

Tim’s 5th girlfriend was Tam Fox, African American daughter of Lucius Fox, black hair, brown eyes. These two date during the Red Robin run, and they make for very good friends, even if they didn’t work out romantically.

I’m skipping over Lynx because if we counted everyone who flirted with Tim that Tim maybe flirted back with we’d be here all day. The New 52 has Tim date Steph and Cassie again, but notably also introduces Madison Payne in the Futures End storyline, a red haired, green eyed, white woman an older Tim is in a relationship with. She is the new Firestorm along with Jason Rusch - does this mean when Tim kisses her as Firestorm, he’s also kissing Jason? Is Jason ok with that? I need details.

Now Tim’s most recent partner from Batman: Urban Legends is Bernard Dowd, a blonde haired, blue eyed, white boy he met back in high school.

MY POINT BEING, Tim doesn’t HAVE a type. At least not a type relating to physical characteristics. The “lol, he’s into blondes” thing outright erases the numerous other people Tim’s been with who are all very different from each other, both in appearance and in backgrounds.

I dunno, it just bothers me. It feels a little like it’s white-washing his dating history. Tim can date blondes, but can we please NOT pretend he ONLY dates blondes?
