Meet The Family!

This post contains all of our current rescues and other horses residing on the ranch. Many of which will have forever homes here.

Canada

Canada used to be a dressage horse but had to retire due to an injury unrelated to the discipline. Instead of dumping her, the owners brought her to us to care for. She's a cheeky lass who loves exercise. While she doesn't do professional dressage anymore, she enjoys the trail rides we take her on and the occasional light dressage we sometimes host on the ranch.

Avisi

Avisi is a full time dressage horse and loves the sport. She's taken out for daily trail rides as well as training every day, with Sundays off. She's a sweet girl who adores attention and will follow you everywhere if given the chance.

#Girl Is A Gun

Arakos

Arakos is our resident race horse. His previous owner passed away due to illness and he was surrendered to us. We attempted to rehome him without much luck, as he's a serial escaper. We quickly learned that letting him roam the ranch as he wishes was best. Arakos regularly participates in races all around Jorvik, and calming him down afterward is usually a challenge because he simply wants to run. He's a goofy boy with an interesting personality and a tendency to get stuck in some strange places!

Marvelle

Marvelle is our local therapy horse and assists Obsidian with welcoming the rescues, as well as helping people with mental illnesses or little kids who want to start riding. She might be used as an official lesson horse someday, but for now she just hangs around the ranch.

Barden

Barden is a part time barrel racer who tends to ignore everyone unless he's working or training. We take him out for trail rides every day and train him 4 times a week with occasional races inbetween. At the moment he's the grumpy (almost) senior.

Asia

Our lovely Asia is a full time dressage horse. She has a cheeky look in her eye with an attitude to match! She manages to steal treats and a bite of food from unsuspecting volunteers on a regular basis. She adores training and loves causing mischief.

#Icy Omaha

Pearl

Pearl is a part-time dressage and show jumping horse under the name of “Art Cadeau”. She adores attention and loves small children. Pearl follows everyone around and is always the center of attention wherever she goes. Don't think you'll be able to visit NHA without Pearl greeting you! Pearl was surrendered to us at the age of 5 after being rescued from terrible conditions that are in no way fit for humans nevermind a horse. She's always had a sparkle in her eye and fire in her soul.

#Art Cadeau

Mystic

Mystic is our newest rescue. She's estimated to be 5 years old, the previous owners never disclosed her age even after a lot of probing on our part. She's slightly aloof and distrustful of humans, however she's beginning to come around. We're unsure whether she'll ever be rideable or adopted, so for the time being her home will be with us.
