Is that true that the actor who played jonah also auditioned to be louis and almost made it while jacob felt like he was going to lose the role but in the end they chose jacob? I think i read it somewhere during the early of the show but I forget where I read that, is that true or just a rumour?
yes, he did! here's a quote from an interview with some of the canadian actors that appeared in iwtv
O’Byrne says Olajide also auditioned for the role of Louis and did well enough to be asked to do a virtual chemistry test with Reid.
and I know Jacob talked about his like 'ahhh are they going to choose me?' and how intense it all was, but I feel like it was in a video interview?? possibly the special that was on amc before episode 1 even aired? maybe one of the virtual interviews he did? I honestly can't remember which one (I did a quick search but there are so many videos and repeat videos that idk where to start right now) but Jacob, beautiful and humble about how talented and amazing he is, definitely gave a lot of props to any and all that auditioned for these roles.
I can't with white ppll trying to guess how old jonah looks like his skin will never crack, he could be anywhere from 30 to 47.
olajide is a gorgeous man frl. i do almost wish here & there he was louis if not for the added height difference [its a pic of him with like. a black v neck & hes giving dubai louis🤤] but knowing how racist ur avg inhabitant of fandom is w lightbrown louis as is id have to be a full on martyr for a dark skin lou no kizzy.

Louis and Jonah's flirting at the Azalea. We love seeing Louis slipping back into flirty confidence (rare Louis #rizzler moment); and they both look simply gorgeous —the way they're lit, Jonah's smile, Louis' beautiful red fit, all of it!
Did you know that Jonah's actor, Thomas Antony Olajide, auditioned for the role of Louis? Adam O’Byrne, producer on the show talks about it on Winnipeg Free Press:
What's a favorite scene of yours? Maybe Louis setting the tapes on fire, or those shared drinks with Daniel? Lestat at the piano, or the confrontation by the incinerator? Maybe Fenwick finally getting his comeuppance?

this won't be a question u can answer i'm sure but i reeaally wanna know who the other actors in the running to play Lestat were!? NOT that I'd want anyone but Sam, they 1000% made the right choice, idek why i'm just curious?? Cuz Rolin said his 1st impression of Sam's headshot was 'nope, not lestat', it made me think hmm, what kind of actor DID he want? was there a particular actor fans wanted when the show was announced? i'd be surprised if this fandom could agree on a fancast lmao.
OH gosh yes, I would LOVE to know.
Though, granted, I cannot fault Rolin to ... recoil a bit from the headshot, Sam looks like your regular "chad" in them - I also said "oh... hmmmm... no?" when the casting was announced ... and then....
So yeah, I don't blame him. *laughs*
But it would indeed be super interesting to see the actors that maybe Jacob had a chemistry meeting with... I mean, we know about Thomas Antony Olajide as a runner-up for Louis, they must have had others they were at least considering... even if Rolin said that "no-one could really touch him" (that statement itself, nice one, Sam^^).
I'm not sure if there was a fancast for Lestat at first that people agreed on... tbh, when I heard about the show I thought about it, but I... could not really come up with anyone, so I dismissed it.
Because it depends sooooo much on the performance.
Just watch Tom f+++ing Cruise set the screen on fire in the 1994 version - arguable his best performance imho. No-one would have guessed that. Anne ranted against it. Publicly. And then changed her mind and apologized when she saw it.
Kinda makes me wonder if they showed her the screen tests at some point. Tbh, I'd love that.
