Songs to listen to while reading::
A/N:: Another Jeongin fanfic ๐Ÿ˜ it's to be expected lolol but the reason this fanfic came about was because we were playing pickleball in gym on Monday and everytime the guys playing infront of me would hit the ball I'd flinch because it was so loud. Then my brain went on a little tangent and then ta-daaa fanfic
"Alright class dismissed," your Science teacher clapped his hands and your classmates filed out of the room. You were going to head back to your locker when you remembered. This period is gym class. You groaned as you opened your locker. There was one good thing about gym class. All of your friends shared that same period. Despite it being just before break it was nice to spend time with all your friends for two whole hours.ย
While you were sorting through your locker to find your gym bag the boy next to you asked you a question.
"Do you know what class we have next?"ย
He was a super nice guy but he didn't have many friends. He's Korean, wears square glasses 90% of the time and has a unique fashion sense which most kids in your school don't like. He tries to fit in but when he realizes he can't, he just moves along. He's near the top of your class though, he's very smart.ย
"We have gym now," you said, smiling up at him.
"Thanks," he said as he continued to mind his own business. You know all these things about him because you share every single class with him. Both semesters. Everyday. Like what are the chances! Must've been some kind of mistake in the system but oh well. Also he's very friendly so you just naturally get along with him.
As you were on your way to the gym you ran into your friends.
"Claire! Kira!" You called out as you sped up to them.
"Oh hey Y/N," Kira said waving to you. The three of you went into the locker room. You changed into your gym clothes while talking about the latest gossip with your friends.ย
"Did you hear about that girl in 10th grade?"
"The one that got expelled, you mean?"
"Yeah!"
"I can't believe it's October and someone already got expelled,"
"I really don't wanna deal with Mr. Congies bs today,"
The girls chatted amongst themselves as you tied your shoelaces. You finally decided to join the Convo.
"Have you thought about going to Sarah's party next weekend?" You said grabbing your water bottle and going over to the other girls.
"Yeah," most of them said.
"And???"
"No way I'm going," they all shook their heads.
"Please! Any of you," you pleaded.
"We all know what goes down at her parties,"
"Yeah,"
"Man you guys are no fun," you said crossing your arms. You're just joking of course because they had the right to not want to go. Sarah's parties usually involve too many drinks for high-schoolers and too manyโ€ฆquestionable sounds from the bedrooms. Either way you were gonna go, mainly to just get out there, but if your friends aren't going you probably won't either.
You and your friends walked into the gym to seeโ€ฆpickleball. You put your hands on your hips and shook your head. Your class has been doing pickleball for the past like 2 weeks. You went to the nearest court and stood on the side to wait for your turn with all the other girls. There were already four people playing and they had all the paddles so you stood there bored as fuck. Sure the talk between your friends was entertaining enough. Suddenly a girl shrieked, catching everyone's attention. Your gaze shot to where the ear piercing sound came from. There was the boy from earlier and a girl covering her body. Everyone stopped playing to see what the fuss was all about.
"He was taking lewd photos of me!!!!" She accused the black haired boy.ย
"No I didn't! I was just looking at my phone!" The boy protested. Then Mr. Congies came over.ย
"What's all the drama about," he said loud and proud. The girl explained that while she was waiting in line to play the boy behind her was taking inappropriate photos of her. The gym teacher snatched the boy's phone, "that's quite an accusation, we all know taking photos in school is illegal! Not to mention lewd ones," the teacher put his tiny glasses on and looked through the boy's phone. He looked terrified. "There is no evidence of any photos on Jeongin's phone of you." The teacher said, handing the phone back to the boy. Jeongin, that was his name. I forgot. You thought to yourself.
"I will get the councilors to look further into this later. For now, Jeongin on the court before I send you to the office," he said sternly pointing his wrinkled finger to the court and jeongin abided. He went over to the court, took a paddle from the other players and started playing. Mr. Congies put his hands on his hips with pride.
"Alright the rest of ya' back to playing," he said, waving the clipboard in his hand. Everyone continued to play as if nothing happened, including yourself. You kept talking amongst your friends.
"Ugh we haven't done anything all class,"
"Is that a bad thing though?"
"Yes! I wanna do something. Hey Y/N what time is it?"
Your friends all looked at you and you looked up to the clock in front of you.
"It's only eleven twenty," you said "why couldn't you have just looked at it?" You laughed with your eyes shut. That's when there was a sudden excruciating pain on the bridge of your nose. You opened your eyes to see everyone staring at you and a boy running over to you. Your friends were freaking out as you put your hand up to your nose, right between your eyes. It was SO painful. You slid your fingers down your nose and when you looked at them there was blood. Your eyes widened. What the hell just happened.
You looked down between your shoes as another drop of blood fell on them. Between your shoes there was a neon yellow pickleball with the tiniest bit of blood on it. You then pieced everything together. When you were laughing someone hit you right in between your eyes with a ball.ย
"I'll go get some ice!" Claire got up and ran to Mr. Congies. The boy that was running to you earlier sat next to you. It was Jeongin. He kept apologizing as you just sat there awkwardly. "Here Y/N," Claire said as she offered you the ice with Mr. Congies standing next to her.ย
"She should go to the nurse's office. Will one of you take her for me?" He said as you put the freezing ice to your nose. You flinched at the feeling. Jeongin shot his hand up before standing up.
"I'll take her!" He called out.
"Fine but first, who did this?" Mr. Congies crossed his arms.
"It's my fault Mr. Congies, I wasn't paying attention,"ย
"No. It was Jeongin he hit you didn't he," he said glaring at Jeongin. All your friends nodded their heads along with I.N. "Alright go on now I don't want anymore blood on my precious gym floors," Mr. Congies said with a wave of his clipboard. Jeongin took your arm and held the ice pack to your nose for you. He took you down the hall. You had your eyes gently shut because you now have a piercing headache.ย
"Careful there's stairs here," He said, making you open your eyes and wobbly step down the stairs. He held you gently, guiding you. "We're gonna go in the elevator so we don't have to go up more steps,"ย
You two arrived at the elevator and you were still dizzy. Why are these damn pickleballs so hard? You thought to yourself as you heard the elevator ding open. Jeongin tripped on your way in making your eyes shoot open.
"You okay?"ย
"Yeah, just my shoe laces," he chuckled as he pressed the third floor button. "Can you hold your ice for a sec? I'm going to tie my shoes," he said as you put your hand over his to hold the pack. He then bent down and fixed his laces but when he stood back up he didn't hold the ice. That's when the elevator suddenly started causing you to lose your balance a bit. You tilted over but Jeongin caught you. "Whoa, easy," he said as he held you up. Your cheeks get flushed at his tone of voice.ย
"Thank you," you said as you stood back up properly.
After an awkward walk to the nurse's office you finally arrived.ย
"Whoa whoa what happened here," the kind woman in the office stood up coming over to you as Jeongin held you up.
"I accidently hit her square in the nose with a pickleball!" Jeongin said as he set you on a little bench.ย
"Oh ouch are you okay sweetie?" The lady said, sitting back down in her white chair as she rolled over to you. Her dark hair and questionable outfit was quite eye-catching. She sighed and shook her head. "How many times have you been here this year?" The nurse asked as she crossed her legs and turned to Jeongin. He just laughed awkwardly before her attention got drawn back to you. "Alright, I'm afraid there's not much else I can do for you dear. You want me to call home?" She said as she grabbed her clipboard. What's with this school and clipboards?ย
"Yeah, my mom's number is [phone number of your choice]" you said as the nurse quickly wrote it down.ย
"Alright I'll call her now. You two talk amongst yourselves in the meantime," she said as she rolled her chair over to the room next door.
"Y/N?" Jeongin randomly sat down next to you. You replied with a simple hum. "Why did you take the blame for getting hit, we all know it's my fault," he said with those big, doey, eyes. You couldn't help but tell him the truth.
"Well I just think people blame you too much for things that aren't your fault," you explained to him while shutting your eyes. "You get a bad wrap for no reason," you sighed. The chocolate haired boy thought for a moment, supposedly about your words. "You weren't taking lewd photos were you?" You asked out of the blue.
"Huh? Oh yeah. I'd never, I always screw shit like this up," he said with a sigh. You looked over at him sadly. "It's sounds corny but I feel so misunderstood here-"
The nurse came back interrupting your conversation. "Your mother said she'll be here in about 20 to 30 minutes," she said with her hand on her hip. "In the meantime," she turned to a big table in the center of the office. She grabbed bandaids and tissues. "Use these to stop the blood," she said, handing you the tissues. You did as she asked and whipped away most of the blood. Most of it had already come out of your nose so it was just the extra gunk. "And Jeongin can help you put this on your nose while I go take this call," she handed Jeongin a box of bandaids and left.ย
When you open your eyes you see him pulling out hello kitty bandaids.
"Seriously, hello kitty," you laughed.
"Awe I think they're cute!" Jeongin chuckled as he opened one of them. "Now close your eyes,"ย
You did as he suggested. You felt a sticky feeling across your nose. "Oh thank you," you said touching it lightly. He threw the wrapping in the garbage and sat back down next to you. There was an awkward silence as you swayed your feet lightly. You pulled out your phone and turned on the camera. You analyzed your new accessory across your face. "Oh it looks so weird," you laughed.
"I think you look cute!" He said with a smile. You cooked a brow at him. "I mean! It looks cute!!!" He said as he waved his hands around with a pink face.ย
"Thanks Jeongin," you said putting your hand on his shoulder with a smile. "I'm gonna ask the nurse if I can go pack up my things before my ride gets here," you said standing up.ย
"You think your feeling steady enough?" He asked as he stood up next to you.ย
"I'll be fine," you said as you turned the corner to the nurse's office room. You talked to her and she said it's fine but you should bring Jeongin with you, or someone. You relayed this to him and he happily joined you to your locker. You were collecting up your things when you ran out of hands to hold everything. "You mind holding this for me," you said as you handed him your Science textbook. He held everything with no complaints and quickly gave you something back when you said you needed it. "Damn I forgot I'm in my gym clothes still!" You shot up on your feet.
"Here take your bag with you and we'll go back to the locker rooms," he said calmly as he handed you your bag. You smiled back as you took it from him. You two went to the lock rooms and you walked into the girls one. You turned back to look at him.
"You comin'?" You raised an eyebrow at him.ย
"No, I'm a man," he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm sure it's fine just this once, there's no one else in here," you waved a hand at him.
"Okay," he said as he shyly followed you into the pink painted room. He held some of your things as you gathered your things and took off your gym shoes. "It really isn't that different is it?" He said as he looked around. "It's just pink,"ย
"Yup,"
"And there's not garbage everywhere,"
"Mhm,"
"And no condomsโ€ฆ" he laughed after the silence. You giggled too.
"Okay," you said before taking your shirt off right infront of him. He jumped and covered the view of you with a yelp.ย
"Haha maybe a warning next time?" He awkwardly laughed as he turned around.
"Oh sorry, I'm so used to doing this infront of girls who don't care," you smiled innocently while shrugging. After you finished changing everything the two of you went back to your locker. That's when there was an announcement over the PA system.ย
"Y/N L/N please come to the office ready to go your ride is here. Y/N L/N please come to the office ready to leave, your ride is outside," you put on your thin spring jacket and your backpack.ย
"Alright, thank you for all your help In," you smiled up at Jeongin.
"In?" He said with a confused expression.
"Yeah, I was trying to think of nicknames for you when I was getting changed," you said lightly blushing.
"Hm? Okay then, Noona," he said with a wink.
"Noona?" You tried to copy his accent but it was kinda hard. He chuckled.
"In Korea it's a term younger Koreans use to address older woman," Jeongin said with a smile that reached his eyes.ย
"Noona, I like!" You said with a smile that mimicked In's. "Okay I'll see you soon In!" You said while waving and walking to the door.
"See you Noona!" He said as he waved back. "Oh, what am I gonna tell my teacher," Jeongin sighed as he walked back to his class.

"I think I am going to murder your father." Bucky's angry statement didn't surprise me. Neither did Steve's initial reaction, or anybody else's mostly pitying looks.
Bruce, my Bwucie, was calm and dejected. That worried me. I expected him to be at least a little bit green around the edges when Steve forcefully sat me down and made me explain the drunken, drugged stunt I'd done the night before, but alas, it seemed like Jolly Green was just sad. Or disappointed. And I didn't know which was worse.
The more I thought about it, the more defensive and abrasive I became. "And you'll kill yourself trying, he'll drive you fucking nuts" I responded to Barnes. "Honestly, I don't fucking see the problem here. My dad shows up five times a year at best. It's been like that forever. And it's not like I'm some kind of junkie," I defended myself, and my dad, because I really didn't see the huge deal about it. Relaxing once in a while doesnโ€™t hurt anyone.
"It's not right!" Steve exclaimed, loosely banging a fist on the table. The self-righteous prick, seemed like he wanted to pick a fight just for the sake of it.
"And who are you, exactly, to say that? The moral police?" I blew up, standing and turning to the blonde man, hands on my hips. "Or you've decided to be my parent without asking me first? Keep your hopes up and maybe a fuck will magically appear, so I could give it to you."
He stood up in turn, getting uncomfortably close to my face. I was suddenly reminded of the fact that he was a very large, very strong man. "We want what's best for you! Can't you see it?" Rogers was getting red in the face, crossed arms, staring at me down like I was dirt under his shoes.
"How about..." I seethed, having to stop mid-sentence to swallow the scream that wanted to erupt. "How about... You FUCKING ask me what I want?"
"I suggest the Captain leave to go calm down," Loki suddenly piped up. He stayed silent throughout the whole conversation, picking at his food instead. Only after his sharply uttered words I noticed he had stood up. His hand hovered over my shoulder, body discreetly wedging between me and the Captain.
I heard Steve growl before he stormed off, throwing an annoyed look at Loki. A pregnant silence hung in the room. The longer it lasted, the more I wanted to crawl out of my skin, suddenly hyper aware of all these people - strangers, save a few - debating on what to do with me. Like I wasn't a person. Like...
"Ugh, fucking hell," I growled, beelining for my bag. I had definitely overstayed my welcome.
"Where are you going?" Bruce asked, standing up to follow.
"Home," I replied curtly, nodding my thanks to Loki for the intervention. He nodded back, walking off. I would have probably started swinging at the Icicle Dick if not for the raven haired Asgardian's timely interruption.
"I'll drive you," Banner trotted after me like a dejected puppy. I didn't have the mental capacity to deal with this, at all.
"I need to see Tony first. Meet you downstairs?"
Bruce nodded, looking even more confused.
Tony kissed me hungrily, in between promises to kill Steve and cancel my dad and get me my own apartment in the tower. Believing in fairy tales wasn't something I was ever prone to; I smiled, nodded along and did my best to shut him up with my own mouth on his. I left with the promise to text him as soon as I got home.
"How are you?" Bruce asked me as we once again drove through the busy city. This was becoming a nice habit but we really had to meet up when I wasn't going through another one of my turmoils.
"All things considered, I am great. Better than I've been in a while." I answered honestly, meaning it. However brief Tony's attention would be, it still satisfied me. Then and there I decided to always, always cherish what happened during my brief stint in his arms.
"Really?" Banner's warm smile was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. "Care to share?"
It threw me for a loop. I didn't know how much Tony wanted to disclose regarding what happened between us. I didn't know the extent of his friendship with Bruce. I didn't know...
"Tony," I choose the usual option. Admit what you can't deny, deny what you can't admit.
"I know the feeling," The good doctor chuckled, companionable-like and meaningful. "He tends to go all the way for the people he cares about. Too much, if you ask me."
"What do you mean?" I was confused. Sure, me and Tony were friends. But not, like, super close or anything. We'd fucked, or more like messed around, so I expected our friendship to grow colder. That's what happened when friends decided to bump uglies.
"I mean... He'll move mountains and challenge the government and bully them into dropping charges against you," There was a hint of sadness in Brucie's voice. I vaguely recalled seeing something on the news, something about the Hulk and a massive destruction spree. It didn't take long to put two and two together.
I reached out, putting a hand on his knee. He covered my palm with his own, giving it a brief, warm squeeze.
"It must be great having a friend like that. You're both wonderful and brilliant. You deserve no less," The smile threatened to split my face in two.
Bruce returned the smile but the sadness didn't go away. "You realize that extends to you, right?"
"Me? I'm just me, Bruce." I wasn't sure where this was going. "I'm Peter's classmate and the resident hot mess express."
Bruce frowned, deep and long, up until he parked. Life seemed to be taking back all the happiness it gave me previously-in fucking buckets. The strap of my bag was going to get its threads pulled out with the way I was fiddling with it.
"Babyโ€ฆ Princess?" The scientist turned to me, tone torn somewhere between stern and pleading. "Listen to me. You are brilliant. Incredibly smart, talented and beautiful. Don't ever, ever think of yourself as less than any of us." I gaped at him.
Did he mean us as the Avengers? Us as Tony and Bruce? Meanwhile he continued, "In fact, I think you are the one who deserves so much better. I don't know what Tony found in meโ€ฆ Or what you found in me."
Was the man an idiot or yes? That was the question of the day. Cursing Tony's affinity for small cars (bless me and my own SUV), I only hesitated a moment before grabbing the dumb Banner by his face and startling him into looking straight in my eye. "If you don't quit talking all that fake-ass bullshit, I will kiss you. On the mouth. With tongue."
"Uh," Was his articulate response. I watched him squirm, blush and lose the heat to his argument.
"Exactly. I've had it all with you idiots today. Next time someone says some stupid ass fucking thing, I will kiss them. On the mouth, with tongue. Pass it on," I exhaled, releasing his face and dropping my head onto his shoulder.
"Some way of solving conflict you have," Banner chuckled weakly, throwing an arm around my shoulders. "I'd like to see Steve's reaction."
"A boner, probably, because he needs to get laid before he spontaneously combusts," I grumbled venomously, still bitter about his reaction. The Capsicle needed to chill. Hehe.
"I'll pass it on too," Bruce remarked wryly. "See you next week?"
"Yeah. Thanks, Bwucie, you're the fucking best," I kissed the scientist on the cheek, giving him a tighter than usual parting hug and walking up the pathway. Home.
Mother was nowhere to be seen - and the obvious reason for that laid on the kitchen floor. Couple of smashed dishes, a bottle of whiskey laying half-empty in a puddle on the grey tiles. The living room rug bore more stains and the smell of alcohol, bitter and acrid (like my soul, hardy har), hung heavily throughout the whole house.
At least I wasn't the only one who fought for myself that day. Mother probably had landed a good one on dad, too, by God the woman could be ruthless with her icy words. Dad never stood a chance. I've felt begrudgingly respectful of the way mother put people in their place with her words ever since I understood sarcasm.
First things first, I cleaned up the mess and opened the windows a smidge, cranking the air recuperation system to the max. Hanging around a place that smelled like a bum on a good Friday night was a horrible way to spend free time. Having successfully cut myself and bandaged the cuts up, I retreated to my room, not wanting to spend more time than necessary in the quiet, stinky, creepy house that my home had become.
My phone was long dead so I plugged it in, waiting for the 2% to appear, turning it on. A few messages from Peter, first cheerful, then worried and then relieved. Tony must've placated the spider child and told him I was staying at the tower. Good call, Tones, or else poor Peter would've worked himself into an anxiety attack and crashed in a dumpster while patrolling. Or something. I still didn't quite get his spider-hero side-gig.
A text from Bruce - rather, a photo, of a disgruntled Steve with his eyebrows raised, titled "I told him the next time he freaks out, you will kiss him. With tongue. Barnes cackled for about ten minutes until he ran out of air."
And a text from Tony. My chest tightened when I opened it. "Good tactics. Sneaky, clever, I'd give it a B+."
I snorted. Then the phone beeped again and I froze. A text ordering me to be ready tomorrow, for a date night? Unreal. I was torn. A part of me was elated, thinking Tony wanted to keep me around like that. The other, more sensible part, was firmly telling me to chill TF down. He'll most likely kindly reject any further intimate interactions, maybe have me sign a few NDAs.
I still answered positive, mushy and cute and all. Feelings aside, I wasn't about to change my texting style for any man. My God, I was turning into a monster. A horribly cheesy, pink, soft, fluffy monster.
The next day, school was nearly unbearable. People talked. Not to my face, of course, since the rumours of me putting away Flash Thompson were still fresh enough for everyone to be cautious around me, but the whispers followed me throughout hallways, tongue in cheek remarks thrown at me from the bathroom stalls, behind the teacher's desks. Did I care? Nope.
Okay, I did, but not in the way one would think. The little spring in my step, a slight smirk. My thoughts were occupied with my upcoming dinner with Tony.
Peter and his pet nerds stood at my side, the ever watchful guards. I had no idea why they decided I needed reassurance or their comfort (I did not), but I had to admit it was cute. MJ, in particular, glared her Death Ray Stare at any male-identifying student that dared to as much as look wrongly in my direction. I mostly ignored the trio. Pete himself did a great job with entertaining his friends, he babbled on as usual, about everything and nothing in particular. Mouth ulcers. He was going to get them one day.
Dad called me during third period, saying he was flying off to California. I would have been lying if I said I didn't know why he scheduled the sudden trip; mother's total radio silence and the absence of her laptop in her own office spoke volumes about the state of my family's affairs. They had a fight and ran off to the opposite ends of the continent. I didn't understand why mother was upset with me, though. I saved her face during dinner at Tony's, so why is she mad about me going to a party with dad? Baffling woman.
Admitting the house felt like home when either of them were absent was hard. Or, perhaps, I felt nothing at all. Spending so much time around the Brady Bunch- the Avengers made me too soft for my own liking. It wasn't just Tony that lived in mind rent-free all the time now; there was Bruce, with his kindness, Bucky with his overgrown teenager attitude, Wanda with her wit and hair that smelled like cheap shampoo - seriously, I absolutely had to show her the benefits of decent hair products. That was just to list the few little quirks. There were so many people, all of them different and wonderful in their own way.
To summarize it, I was both happy for them and bitter for not having any of that to myself. Although it made me kind of glad I didn't have a sibling - looking after someone in the mess that mother and dad created would've been a nightmare. They say it's always a better place where we are not.
I went through a whole pack of cigarettes in a span of a couple of hours. Plagued by strangely melancholic thoughts, trying to push down the anxiety over my upcoming date, my choice of outfit proved to be a cumbersome task while in process.
Expensive but simple dress with spaghetti straps, in my favourite colour. That was the easiest part. A good base for any accessories. Would Tony like it? Would the press make outrageous comments?
Either way, it would. Dad's comments cut deeper than I probably realized it until now; in a sudden bout of self-awareness and a couple of mouse clicks later... Tony wouldn't care. Tony wears suits with sneakers. The Manolos flew back, towards my shoe closet, and a pair of Chanel trainers made their debut. A Hermes 2002 barely weighed down by my wallet, keys and phone. A nice coat, too, appropriately light and so very conceptual and fashionable.
I spent way too much time deciding on what to wear. A stern talking to, however, didn't help me, and I had to redo my make-up - the "nude", "all natural" look was one of the hardest to nail. Or so Marie Claire said. Whatever, my highlighter game was, as usual, on point.

Jac & Savannah
Jac: Feel totally free to ignore this, and this isn't an attempt to further any more conversation between us again if you don't want it, but it would feel bizarre to pretend...well, that we hadn't known each other before, or that I'd forgotten you entirely, so Jac: Obviously things weren't great when you left but I'm fully over that as no doubt you are too Jac: As we're classmates again, it makes sense to me that we are civil and prepared to work together if necessary but I'm not going to attempt more than that, nor am I holding some kind of grudge which would prohibit the former, I thought I'd reassure you of that, as well as just say, hello, I suppose ๐Ÿ™‚ Savannah: You're right, it would be bizarre as well as counterproductive Savannah: though, we don't actually know each other any more, two formative years having passed, so I don't see why we can't start over Savannah: treating each other like we would our other classmates Jac: That sounds logical to me too Jac: I'd be happy to treat this as an introduction opposed to a reintroduction Savannah: okay Savannah: but before we do, I just want to say I'm really proud of you for getting in Jac: You too Jac: it's amazing, isn't it Jac: better than we had even visualized and worked and prayed for Savannah: I always knew you could do it Jac: I had no doubts about you, either Jac: potential that you'd changed your course and vision but whatever you put your mind and talent to Savannah: I did think you'd go to Bath, or that I would Jac: I could lie here and say something about preferring the history and culture of Edinburgh as a city, and finding St Andrews better in X Y Z but Jac: Bath didn't happen, is the reality of it Jac: but I'm not devastated, as I once would've been to be left with my 2nd choice Savannah: We don't have to lie, it didn't happen for me either, partly because catholic school did of course, but that's not the entirety of it Jac: I try to leave lying, however innocuous and pointless, two years ago, too Jac: Karma or otherwise, just stopped feeling worth it Jac: how was your new School? Savannah: A lot of things stopped feeling worth it to me too Savannah: Oh, Sienna liked it Savannah: I did not Jac: I am sorry to hear that Jac: I can't think of anything I would've liked less than being surrounded by other hormonal, crazy, moody, bitchy teenage girls either Savannah: at least she thrived, you wouldn't even recognise her now Savannah: she's so Savannah: Loud Jac: ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jac: Loud can be good Jac: at least some positives came of it all Savannah: she reminds me of how I remember Jude Savannah: but she's happy, I think Jac: I think you'd still have recognized Jude Jac: likely from a mile off, giving you time to escape Jac: I hope she is Savannah: ๐Ÿ˜„ Jac: and that you'll be happier here than you were there, too Savannah: unless either of my parents enrol, we can take that as a given Jac: I'll drink to that Jac: complimentary coffee, that is Savannah: for now anyway Jac: Hopefully the plans get a little more exciting Savannah: ๐Ÿ™Œ Jac: Have you heard any Psych school nights being organized or do you think one of us should bite that bullet and start the group chat? Savannah: we should do it Savannah: best foot forward, you know? Jac: Absolutely Jac: Why not, eh Jac: You're in halls too, right? Savannah: Yes Savannah: where are you? Jac: John Burnet, how about you? Savannah: You only get a single bed too! Savannah: I'm in University Hall Savannah: it's so pretty Jac: The nuns taught you well then ๐Ÿ˜› Jac: I think it's worth it for the architecture, we'll just have to remember not to roll Savannah: ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Savannah: It wasn't worth ANOTHER argument with my dad about co-ed Jac: and you get to have the Libraries literally right on your doorstep Jac: I was debating it, but I'm still better in smaller crowds, that sold JB to me ultimately Savannah: if my dad didn't run my life I totally would've applied there too Savannah: I love that it has a garden Jac: I know, right? Jac: Well you can use my little patch of ๐ŸŒท ๐ŸŒน ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒธ ๐ŸŒผ ๐ŸŒป whenever you like, because I'll certainly be haunting the libraries enough Savannah: You haven't lost any of your sweetness Savannah: & of course you must, I hate studying alone Jac: I'll probably be tragically uncool forever, our classmates may as well find out sooner rather than later ๐Ÿ’ Jac: if the sight of all those books gets too much, there's always the ๐Ÿ– for maximum studying, I'm sure Savannah: No way! I had more fun with you than I've had with anyone else EVER Savannah: they'll find all your good points Jac: ๐Ÿ˜Š Jac: Okay, we did have some fun Savannah: a lot Jac: I can't/shan't disagree with that Savannah: it doesn't feel like two years Savannah: sometimes more like twenty, or like two months Jac: It is really weird, I felt like I haven't said it because it can't be overstated Jac: but good weird Jac: are any of your friends from Sligo here too? Jac: I don't know anyone Savannah: I don't know anyone either Jac: A familiar face is a good thing Jac: as is getting to know each other afresh, they can coexist Savannah: I thought it was for the best that nobody followed me here, until I saw you Jac: Shocking as it was Jac: glad the ๐Ÿ˜ฑ isn't permanent Jac: I'd hate to do that to you, honestly Savannah: you don't believe I could pull it off? Jac: Of course you could Jac: but your ๐Ÿ˜„ is undeniably a better look Savannah: my lips ARE very big, I could end up looking like a blow up doll if I'm forever open mouthed from today onwards Savannah: then I'd never marry a prince Jac: Why we're here, obviously Savannah: Everyone thinks so Savannah: just because my boyfriend dumped me after the leavers cert Jac: Oof Jac: that's rough Jac: though at least he didn't steal your Summer? I guess Savannah: Oh my god! That's exactly what he said Savannah: no wonder he reminded me of you Jac: Oh God ๐Ÿ˜ฌ are you suggesting I should be in Sallies with the rest of the fuckboys? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jac: not the crowd I was hoping to get in with but, you know Savannah: where you are is perfect for you Jac: ๐Ÿคž Savannah: it feels right being here Jac: Yeah Jac: it really does Savannah: I was worried I wouldn't feel that when I actually got here but ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Jac: I thought it'd be scarier being away from home Jac: but if anything, it's a relief Savannah: you don't have to share a room with Jude any more, it obviously would be Savannah: how is everyone though? Jac: ๐Ÿต๐Ÿ™Š Jac: No, they're good, all doing their own thing Jac: Jesse's got his music, the kids are the same old Jac: oh, Jameson got a girlfriend though, that's cute Savannah: I can't believe one brother is literally famous and the other is adorably loved up Savannah: Sienna hasn't had a boyfriend yet, I think that's my fault Jac: Honestly, they're both unbearable now ๐Ÿ˜ Jac: overprotective big sister vibes or off-putting dumping ex? Savannah: Jesse was always an acquired taste, which I never did Savannah: Oh, both, for sure ๐Ÿคซ Jac: Musically and personality-wise, he'd agree you have a point Jac: long as she's happy, like you said Jac: always found them too distracting myself Savannah: I suppose I just always needed a distraction Jac: Clearly, that's why we aren't having this conversation in Bath Jac: for the best, in the end ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ”ฎ Savannah: I hope so Jac: Honestly, it's a better uni Jac: and I'm not just lying to myself/you to make us feel better ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jac: Delia Rockford, you remember her, right? Jac: She got into Bath, so, you aren't missing out, is what I mean Savannah: I hate her Jac: She's doing International Management and German Jac: the language of the future ๐Ÿคจ Savannah: She's German descent! That's basically cheating Jac: You'd think she's got a place at Cambridge studying classics the way she's been bragging Jac: they aren't remotely top in languages or whatever the hell International Management is but alright ๐Ÿ™„ Savannah: I'm so glad she blocked me after what happened during the party at Michelle Brennan's house Savannah: which wasn't even my fault Jac: Now that feels like a million years ago Savannah: It was Savannah: I don't think we were even friends yet Jac: We weren't for that long, in the grand scheme of things Jac: that's the weirdest part Jac: we were pretty intense, yeah Savannah: everything was pretty intense Jac: It was Jac: Isabelle is doing coaching at TUD Jac: we were never really the same but she's well in herself Savannah: She'll be incredible at that Savannah: if it had happened to me, there's no way I would've not been retaking the year Jac: I know Savannah: did you hear about my mum? Jac: No, I don't think I did? Savannah: she'll appreciate it not being common knowledge, I guess Jac: Is she okay? Savannah: She's doing better now Savannah: which I suppose means she's at about the same level as she was before I left Savannah: because she really struggled after Jac: It must've been really hard for her Jac: to have you two gone, and realize it probably was for the best Jac: did you see her much, in these two years? Savannah: not as much as I should've Jac: You can't be blamed for that Jac: you had to take care of yourself, and Sienna Savannah: but she needed me to stay Jac: Maybe she needed to sort herself out Jac: and she's getting there Jac: our parents shouldn't be our responsibility Savannah: It has to work out here, you know? Savannah: I can't go back Jac: Of course it will Jac: you're going to be fine, amazing Jac: and then you can do your masters and your Ph.D. and then marry a prince and you'll have several royal residences, neither of which will be in Dubo or Sligo Savannah: I'm just sick of things being painful, difficult is fine, but I want it not to hurt Savannah: which is a HUGE overshare if we met today Jac: it's cool Jac: I hear everyone is best friends for life fresher's week Savannah: that makes me feel a lot better Savannah: especially when I pause to consider how many of them I'm likely to cry on before it's over Jac: It's basically tradition Jac: you won't be the only one Jac: moving forward, it's bound to make you think more about what you're leaving behind, even if temporarily Savannah: I've missed you Savannah: sorry if that's like leaping over a boundary or something Jac: I wouldn't have bet on that being what you said, should I ever see you again Jac: but it's better than what I would've Savannah: It's not like this with anyone else Savannah: I can't change that Jac: I never really Jac: like I went out, people would talk to me, I'm not trying to sell a sob story here Jac: but you're right Jac: it was never the same with anyone else, not remotely Savannah: I've given you mine already, so if you have one, it's okay to tell it or not Savannah: even if I'm so embarrassed I did that Jac: Seriously, no need Jac: you were there to witness my unfinest hour Jac: I treated lots of people like shit Jac: Is, mainly Jac: but you too, in lots of ways Jac: not proud of it, but I changed, still am, hopefully Savannah: I hope you don't change too much though Jac: Yeah? Savannah: I thought you were perfect how you were Jac: And I'm the sweet one Savannah: we both made mistakes, but that's human Jac: It's been a while since anyone's accused me of being human Jac: all those exams Jac: ๐Ÿค– felt more fitting Savannah: & you look so ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป Jac: You look as flawless as you ever did Savannah: My auntie mailed all her good skincare to Sligo Jac: expect no less ๐Ÿ™Œ Savannah: the fresher air was ๐Ÿ™Œ Savannah: even if the rural accents took me by surprise Jac: ๐Ÿ˜ต or ๐Ÿฅด surprise though? Savannah: not like ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜˜ ๐Ÿฅฐ Jac: the accent here is pretty ๐Ÿคญ Jac: though Savannah: which one? ๐Ÿ˜„ Jac: Valid Jac: very town VS gown Savannah: which one though? Savannah: tell me Jac: The original Savannah: very Romeo & Juliet of you Jac: Oh no Jac: am I that cliche now? Savannah: we'll see Jac: Sounds slightly concerning Jac: but I'll do my best to subvert expectations Savannah: it'll be concerning if you get distracted by some boy's accent after working this hard to get here Savannah: unless he's a prince, obviously Jac: Not changed that much Jac: I'd get disowned if I married royalty, anyway Savannah: ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘ฐ Savannah: just adorable heirs to the throne Savannah: ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ Jac: adorable, illegitimate bastards โค Savannah: yes Savannah: or is that another cliche? Jac: Probably Jac: although if we are educated, career women now, any babies is beating expectations Savannah: except not really because every career woman is also determined to become a mother & prove she can have it all Jac: ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘ถ it is then Jac: maybe a dissertation topic, at any rate Savannah: ๐Ÿ˜ข Jac: ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ Jac: many as you like Savannah: they all need best friends Savannah: you have to stick to the plan Jac: Can I get through freshers first? Savannah: ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿพ Jac: Please, I'm no amateur Savannah: I hope not, I'm single & the point is we do it at the same time Jac: as am I Jac: not feeling any 1st year that hard, thanks ๐Ÿ˜ Savannah: you always date older, it's fine Jac: None of our lecturers were the one Jac: another cliche avoided Savannah: I'm not sad about that Jac: There's enough inequality of power about without actively seeking out the dynamic, agreed Savannah: ^^ Jac: the fashion show seems to have got the diversity memo though Jac: could be cool Savannah: it's going to be the highlight, I can feel it Jac: ๐Ÿ˜„ Jac: I was thinking Tues for our psych night, as nothing much is really going on Jac: what do you think? Savannah: good idea Jac: ๐Ÿ‘ Savannah: I'll start the chat if you want Jac: You were always better at talking Savannah: when it's not that important, but when it matters, you always know exactly what to say Savannah: at least to me Jac: You're easy to talk to Jac: in a way I really could never work out Savannah: There's nobody in my life right now who would agreed with that Savannah: so it must be you Jac: my inbox full of unreads would say otherwise but Jac: I'll take it Savannah: okay, it's us together Savannah: does that make you happier? Jac: Better Savannah: your hair got really long Savannah: I'm BEYOND jealous Jac: You've got no reason to be jealous of any other girl in the world Savannah: you're not any other girl in the world Savannah: ๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿคซ Jac: ๐Ÿ˜ถ Jac: Promise Savannah: it looks beautiful, I can't cope Jac: My ๐Ÿ˜ณ will not Savannah: ๐Ÿ’— Savannah: ๐ŸŒท ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒธ Jac: Is that a dress code? Savannah: well NOW it is Jac: ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jac: My wardrobe can accomodate Jac: cheers for the heads up Savannah: you're welcome Savannah: & we're all set until ๐Ÿ’ฌ Jac: I better let you get on then Savannah: was it that good of a conversation starter? Jac: Solid Jac: will scare off anyone ๐Ÿ˜ฑ of ๐Ÿ’— ๐ŸŒท ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒธ Savannah: well I obviously don't need that negativity in my life Savannah: but I didn't mean to end this conversation Jac: We don't have to Jac: What are your plans for the rest of the day, now the obligatory are over? Savannah: don't judge me, because I know I sound like a different person, but I haven't made any Jac: Thank God, me neither Jac: I didn't know how long any of that would take Jac: nor unpacking, which is technically done but that says nothing about the decorating I wanna do Savannah: I could help Jac: Or, slightly more fair, we could check out the town, see what shops are about? Savannah: I'd like that Jac: Cool ๐Ÿ™‚ Jac: let's have half an hour to debrief and make sure we don't look ๐Ÿ˜ฑ and then head out? Savannah: okay Savannah: you can put your hair up & save my life Jac: oh ๐Ÿคซ Savannah: I am serious Savannah: ๐Ÿš— ๐Ÿš• ๐Ÿšฒ are distraction enough Jac: You could rock a cast Jac: but I won't let it happen Savannah: what would you write on it? Jac: That's a good ๐ŸงŠbreaker Jac: but I'll have to keep that secret for now Savannah: if I ask everyone on Tuesday, will you tell me then? Jac: It's a deal Savannah: it is
