Remember my TAG Sims 4 save that I’m building? Well it’s well time for an update on where I’m at! I’m having great fun populating the worlds with characters and various people’s OCs* and thought I’d show off how they’re going! I’m focusing on CAS (Create A Sim) rather than building in this save and trying to create a full world of sims! Also note that I’m planning on the gameplay beginning with a teenage Jeff, so no main characters for now. I play with aging off and age them all manually so the other characters will just stay the same age until I’m ready to interact with them.
I’ve finished three worlds; Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and Sulani. Working on Newcrest and Henford-on-Bagley next! Today I'll show off the characters made in Willow Creek :)
*I’m only showing the TAG characters and the OCs I have made for them today, not OCs made by other people... mostly because I'm not done!! Also if you're interested in my making your Thuderbirds OCs, let me know! I have a lot of households to fill lol and they'll just hang out in the background of the game :D
Tumblr media
Notable changes: I moved the park to the Oakenstead lot, added a second park (in Foundry Cove) and a skate park. I changed the museum into a botanical library and placed a community garden next to it. There is now an early childhood education centre and a hospital that can be visited, and I placed a gym and a museum. I did not make any of the builds, they’re all found on the gallery and then tweaked.
There are twelve households in Willow Creek, including an apartment with four families. The only townies I care about are the Goths so they’ll end up being the only non TAG characters. I found a renovated Goth Mansion and a Goth family revamped to look closer to their Sims 2 counterparts on the gallery and stuck them in there :)
Sims 4 lore down, let me show off the sims!!
Sally, Grant and Jeff Tracy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this save, Jeff has two brothers and a sister, based off of @amistrio's hc :D
Kyrano, Kayo and Tin-Tin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I decided I wanted to add in Tin-Tin and I have vague memories of reading a fic where they were sisters, so I went ahead and did it :D
Brains, Brains and Fermat Hackenbacker
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Brains ahaha so I put him in twice :D why not after all!
The Apartment Building has four families: Ned Tedford, Tycho Reeves (and his brother David...lol), Wayne Rigby (and his daughter Eleanor... double lol, I think it was @katblu42 who suggested that name :D), and Kat Cavanaugh (who I gave a sister who lives in Oasis Springs, but I've included said sister for completeness)
Ned Tedford
Tumblr media
I gave him lots of freckles mostly because I think they look sweet ahaha... I'm tempted to make Gladys a Plant Sim, but for now he's just going to enjoy gardening :D
Tycho and David Reeves
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Come on... I had to XD David's a doctor whose aspiration in life is to solve the Strangerville mystery ahaha
Wayne and Eleanor Rigby
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes the glasses are on purpose :D I love the idea of Rigby being a single dad and I also aged him up a little simply because he's clearly been with the GDF for a while and it made sense to me.
Kat and Sara Cavanaugh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sara is Kat's older sister but they don't get on so they live in different worlds.
And finally, our last couple of houses are filled by...
Cass McCready, Aiden Hawkins and Theo McCready-Hawkins
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cass is obviously our favourite firefighter, and so I decided to create Aiden to be her fiance and Theo to be their kid. I always imagined Cass having two boys and to be a single mum when she met iR for the first time, so I did give Aiden a couple of less desirable traits lol... I'd like to play out their story at some point so they only have Theo to start :D
Reece and Dobbs (aka our favourite space pirates/scrappers!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love these guys so much, they crack me up :D They're space married, don't question me on this, and they live in a tiny home with some chickens xD I might see if I can replace their current home with one that's modelled after a spaceship bc that would be fun!
Robert and Aidan Williams
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aidan is one of my favourite kid characters in the show and I love him! So cool headed even when crisis is happening and his dad is hurt :( I thought for a long time about whether I'd add in more family but then I realised the house was only two bedrooms and then I invented a story where his mum had recently passed away and him and Gordon could have some bittersweet bonding (bc Gordon stays in touch and remembers everyone obviously!!) so I decided to leave them as they were and also the smaller the household the less likely the game is to crash lol
WillowCreek also is resident to three OC families, but they are not mine so I don't want to post about them without permission :)
Anyway I hope you enjoyed the update on this!!! Someday I'll have real gameplay to share lol, but I'm having so much fun building the world up!

I got ideas I want to work on! But I already got things I need to work on! 😫
One of them is another au, this time for the seasons. I’ll admit, I had a Tinkerbell marathon the other night and I absolutely adore Secret of the Wings that it inspired me to want to make an au based on the seasons xD Veruca was born in August so she’s part of summer. I personally headcanon Diego to be an autumn baby because I just get that vibe from him so he’s part of autumn.
The other one is this mini project I want to do called Through My Eyes. It’s basically about how a character sees themselves vs how others see them. For example, Veruca sees herself as someone who wants to prove that she can be something without having to be stuck in her brother's shadow. The drawing will have her stepping out of Coby's shadow with determination running through her veins. In Merula's eyes, she sees Veruca as arrogant and obnoxious, standing on a pedestal with a mocking smile on her face as she stares down at Merula. Due to their history Merula sees Veruca as someone who cares more about seeking fame and attention for everything going on in Hogwarts. But she couldn’t be more wrong about that
Mafia AU, yeah I need to start on that. I’ve been reading a lot of fics for the Godfather, Scarface and Carlito's Way and watching gameplays for the Mafia trilogy that I really wanted to start a mafia au. Diego and Veruca kind of get a personality swap xD Veruca isn’t a flirt but she’s definitely more passionate about things than she normally would be.
Scooby Doo's Hex Girls but it’s Merula, Ismelda and Beatrice. What do you think? They would match it xD Merula can sing so she would be Thorne but I have always thought Ismelda would be a good one since she also has long black hair and Merula as Luna because of the messy hair xD Beatrice is blond so she’d be Dusk
I know a daycare au has been done before, but I would love to see it more but with the prefects as the sitters xD imagine all Chester looking after the Ravenclaw kiddos and he has Carson and Tulip on kiddie leashes because they keep running off and making a mess xD Felix is trying to pull Merula and Veruca apart because they’re fighting over a toy.

My comment on chapter 6
@littlecarnet
Well, here goes my comment on chapter 6, just before chapter 7 Why did you post it here and up to this point? Because I barely finished the memes and only here I can comment this with memes.
Tumblr media
About the new discovery... Well, objectively speaking, it was very good how you handled that discovery of our dear Arceus. It was not something treated with morbid curiosity but with delicacy and innocence.
I liked it a lot and it made me think about many things that I will talk about later.
Speaking more personally, the truth is that I died laughing when I read it, I'm sorry! I already have my head very contaminated with the memes that men do with that topic, and the meme above is the clear representation of that xD.
P.S. :One thing I would like to add is a question and a complaint. If Arceus was supposed to have been in it for about an hour ... That means he did "it" while the shower head was open? Because if so, that means Arceus wasted a LOT of water. And yes, I understand the context and all but, no shit Arceus! There's a state in my country that has no water and this guy just spends it stupidly on that! XD
There, that's all I had to say. Something very "XD" and out of nowhere but I had to mention that, LOL.
Tumblr media
Oh Delia's aunt, that was one of the funniest things in the whole story in my opinion. Very cool lady and all, but she's a little too intense xd.
I got a good laugh out of seeing Delia doing her best not to be on top but it wasn't worth it, now she even convinced her to have something with that guy who saved her life.
It seems to me that this lady watches Latin soap operas every afternoon, because she is that kind of person. What's more! I could tell she asks you if you've gotten a date yet at Christmas dinners xD.
But sure, I like that even she has an important role with a personality that to me is memorable. Maybe one day I'll deign to make a fanart based on how I imagine her.
Tumblr media
That big walk in the festival was very nice, funny to imagine Arceus insisting with Delia about what she has the gift of aura, eating delicious food and seeing that charming town. All very nice, no reyeni moments and always on the way to the main story while the characters are growing up I like! I understand that in this kind of scenes it's easy to lose the way but very good! I like that everything goes according to a great plan! >:D
God, I can't imagine Arceus' face when he realized he became what he swore to destroy. He captured a random Pokémon (a Ditto) and it will be fun and interesting to see what happens with that, I mean, seeing Arceus dealing with this will be something very entertaining and I think that will end very well.
Tumblr media
Okay, now let's talk a little bit about Cogita. She's a love as a person and as a grandmother (?). It's nice to see how Arceus can always count on her for anything, very cute indeed. Reminds me of my Russian Empire version of the contryhuman, both are loving and trying to guide their respective loved ones, thanks to his wisdom and experience of centuries (in the case of Cogita Thousands of years)
Only my Russian Empire is more of a dad than a grandpa jsjsjs.
It gives me a lot of intrigue, truth be told. I want to know more in detail her story, I want to know more about her history with Arceus and more from her regarding her relationship with Volo (Though most likely in chapter 7 you'll answer me some of this).
My god, I haven't played the pokemon legends Arceus game, but is Volo really that dangerous? What I've seen of him in the gameplays is that to me he's just religiously obsessed with Arceus and his vision of how the world should be. I thought Arceus would see him as a nutty guy who managed to make a mess out of that madness…. But now I see that here he's more like a VERY dangerous nutcase. I'M EXCITED FOR WHAT'S COMING UP NEXT WITH THIS VILLAIN!!!….
Arceus sure is sick of him, he doesn't even want to see him anymore. I'm sure his insanity and immortality made him very irritating for this god.
Tumblr media
Bonus: This way the meme still looks funny, the actor's face from the original meme came out just the right way for this image. LOL

my thoughts on Iki Island:
(spoilers under the cut)
I really loved this DLC! I had nothing but high hopes for this after playing the base game last year (and three more times after that), and Sucker Punch didn’t disappoint. The whole time playing it I felt like it was only adding to my love of the characters and the stories they set up in the base game, and then all the new quests and mechanics added a lot of fresh fun on top of that!
So where to even begin.
The opening scene was super cool and a neat way to introduce the new shaman enemies. And despite Yuna only actually being in one scene, it was a delight to see her again. Though since I’m playing the DLC after finishing everything, I don't love the continuity of Yuna not accompanying him, but gameplay wise I knew that wasn’t going to happen anyway, but I just love when she’s with us <3
Went for my horse straight away and I was THRILLED to see that Kaze can now kill enemies and the new charge mechanic was way more fun than I was expecting and I was having too much fun with that. After Nobu, I didn’t expect to get attached the Kaze all that much (even if he continued on into a later game) but I was quickly proved wrong with this because I now kind of separate Nobu as the more gentler of the two, that was always there for me, and while Kaze is too, I like imagining Kaze is a lot younger and his aggressive personality in this really sold that and I like that it probably eases Jin’s worries a bit to see his new horse being able to fend off attacks a bit better. Plus, with his new armor, he’s even safer <3 Really fell more in love with Kaze in this, which I didn’t expect.
Met The Eagle next and had that whole encounter. I love how right away if you pay attention, you know Yuna isn’t Yuna because she’s never once addressed Jin as ‘my lord.’ I think the only time she said it was when she was talking to both him and Shimura at the lighthouse, and it wasn’t because she wanted to. But still, even knowing something was wrong, it’s cute that Jin’s mind went to her as a safe place who he’d have no problem entrusting stories and secrets to, which was obviously the Eagle’s goal. And hearing her voice warp into the Eagle’s was creepyyyy and so good <3  (my Yuna loving ass was sad to realize that was most likely the last time we’d see her, but that’s okay) That next part of the hallucination really got you feeling for Jin, and I couldn’t help but be frustrated that he’s only a child, how was he supposed to help?!?!?
So I ignored Tenzo’s next mission and explored and pretty much completed the entire island. I got jump scared WAY too many times by her taunts, but I loved how that just added to the direness of the situation. I was obsessed with finding all the hallucinations and it just kept breaking my heart how Jin has all of this pent up guilt/heartache--with Ryuzo (he had so many I found), his father, his uncle, the Khan, Nobu :(, Masako, etc. I honestly had expected to find one regarding Taka and I’m a bit sad that I didn’t. Add those to the memories of his father and the ever-present taunting, I was going through it with Jin <3 At least you can pet the animals for him <3 The little smile he’d get every time was worth it. And the flute playing mechanic was really neat!
The first memory I got was their chat before Kazumasa’s death and honestly that got me all teary because Jin wanted so badly to hear him say he accepted him as his son, but deep down, would he have felt it? And my heart just breaks so much for Jin because as I kept going through the memories, I kept thinking how well 1) his dad sucks, but 2) both father figures kept wanting Jin to be somebody else. And it hurts that he was closer to Shimura’s way of thinking and how we even see that one time that Shimura corrects Jin, that his recitation of what honor means were his father’s words, and gets Jin to say that kindness is what honor means to him and wow. <3 <3 <3 But it hurts knowing their fate too <3 That while Shimura was more of a father to Jin than Kazumasa was, eventually, he couldn’t accept what Jin was doing in their way. Though it does hurt and make you wonder if Shimura was frightened that Jin was turning into his dad...I had that thought many times. (I loved seeing Adachi so much though omg <3 <3 <3) It was very interesting how the song Jin ends up playing for his father at the end of the memories is the ‘Jin Sakai’ theme. And then how that in turn, morphs into ‘The Way of the Ghost’ later on when in the final battle.
It hurts that Jin had Chiyoko in his life for such a short time. I’m glad he did have Yuriko at least, but all of Jin’s memories on his mother and how she emphasized just living was so prominent, and her love of animals clearly passed to him and that gentleness too. And of instruments. Such softness, and I love that he retains that even as an adult. It makes sense that he doesn’t speak of his mother as often since he has far less experiences with her vs Kazumasa or Shimura, but it was nice to see her influence within him.
Did this quest near the end of my exploration but I got the BIGGEST smile on my fave when I barged in the house to find the Ghost of Iki Island was Kenji <3 <3 <3 I love this dumbass so much and it was so nice to see a familiar face <3 Plus it let Jin have an actual full laugh when Kenji referred to them both as ‘tough guys’ XD His quests are always enjoyable for me and so I really loved that (though I was also Jin when he’s like “...you didn’t say goodbye.”) but I was happy to see him do the right thing at the end <3 THEN I got to duel the Viper because I diffused the situation instead and that was fun. Love that Jin explains his knowledge of negotiation was learned from all the years with Shimura <3 Also enjoyed spotting Kenji later in the Refuge XD
Really enjoyed all the side quests overall, loved all the animal sanctuaries, and the archery was a TON of fun! Getting the horse armor was neat, seeing Jin actively stop a Mythic retelling, though I was surprised there was no duel for that one. The one for the monkey armor was so creepy, following the lights in the cave, but so damn cinematic and that fight was incredible plus that amor is my new best friend. Seriously omg, the duels in this DLC felt so much beefier than the base game (I was playing on hard so that could be a reason, but the fights didn’t feel this tanky in the base) But that armor just made them a piece of cake if you’re good at perfect parries and perfect dodges <3 <3
Loved the banter and camaraderie between Jin and Tenzo throughout. And I really enjoyed Fune’s character as well! Did the next few story missions and I couldn’t help that sense of foreboding slipping in as I was getting more attached to these characters. Love that they had Kidafure Battlefield on the map but it isn’t till the mission that they tack on the ‘Village’, really hitting home what happened there.
Maybe I should have been, but I did not see the twist with Tenzo coming at ALL! I physically gasped when he spoke the “May your death benefit all things” to that random Mongol and I was soooo tense, like Jin listen I know he was your dad but also Tenzo spared you. Which I love in the long run how he spared the Butcher’s child only to save him later in life, and Jin could save him and the island in return <3 Because ohhhhhh boy did I get emotional when Jin stopped the Eagle from landing that blow.
But before that, HER FIGHT IS SO FUCKING COOOOOL!!!!!! SHE IS SO DAMN FAST AND SHE EASILY WIPED THE FLOOR WITH ME THE FIRST TWO TIMES. I also love her references to Khotan and that her moveset with the spear shares some similarities with him.  I tried once more in my Ghost armor (for fashion) and then I switched to the Sarugami armor and was flying through just to have that whole cutscene.
I know culture is different and obviously I can never understand that mindset, but to hear him say to Jin that they both should have died there broke my heart. What kind of a father wants his son’s death with him like that?!?!?!?! But I LOOOOOOVED ‘Honor and Ash’ playing in the background for that scene, as Jin is rejecting what his father may have thought/wanted (just like he did to Shimura with that track at the end of Act 2) and then it moved up a key just to reinforce that Jin is forgiving himself for this and letting go and again, forging his own path just as he did with his uncle. I loved that they used that piece for that pivotal moment...
...JUST TO KICK IT INTO AN EVEN HIGHER GEAR WITH JIN SAVING TENZO AND THE GHOST THEME BLARING IN WITH A KEY CHANGE TO THEN TRIUMPHANTLY FINISH OFF THE EAGLE!!!!! I WAS SO HYPED (and also hoping I wouldn’t die cuz how anti climactic would that have been?!?) but I didn’t and I really enjoyed the resolution between those two. I bowed to him after he bowed to me and I love that they even added dialogue for that if players do decide to do that <3 <3 <3
The next quest with Fune was sweet, though it felt a little odd to do after defeating the Eagle, but it was sweet nonetheless. I have to finish up some trophy stuff, I guess there’s unseen quests that I’m sure I’ve done a few of, but I have to figure out what I missed. The dueling ring was fun, though that lady was the most difficult for me.
A few things of note:
-I like that in this DLC, you really can’t tell if it’s better to kill or spare Shimura. And how there are lines that could mean slightly different things to Jin depending on what he’s done. I’ve done both and I was on a file where he spared him, but besides a hallucination mentioning the Ghost being hunted for the rest of his days, nothing else pointed to one choice or the other.
-Though a line Jin said to Sugi threw me a bit when he said something along the lines of ‘you’ll never understand how hard it is to kill your family’ and maybe he was referencing his guilt for his father, but I’m like ?????? who else did you kill Jin??? Shimura is fine in this play through XD
-Talking with her though, I like that Jin described himself as ‘someone who knows what it’s like to be hunted’ :((((((
-Tenzo also made reference to a friend of his being beheaded, but not finding the head till a week later, and asking Jin if he understands that and while the situation is different, I bet Jin’s mind went to Taka :(
-Loved the subtle storytelling elements with Jin falling into his nightmares during the fight through the Gorge and his resolve disappears each time. The second time it happened, I verbally went “oh my resolve.....oh.”
-I do think Sucker Punch made a lil mistake though because I started thinking about how in Tale 8 of Masako’s quests, I’m almost certain she mentions Jin not understanding her need for revenge or something along those lines, and she talks about Shimura hunting down Kazamasu’s killer for weeks and how Jin had his closure. But uhhhhhh obviously his killer was never found? Or they killed the wrong one? And they didn’t mention it was on Iki Island and obviously didn’t have that foresight that they’d be doing this DLC since he was killed in the snow in the base game and now it was under a wisteria tree, but besides that small thing, I had no complaints! except for always wanting more Yuna
It was so great and I felt it really complemented the base game, especially in regards to everything that Jin feels guilty and responsible for, but also puts his relationship with Shimura is so many new lights that I loooove and I need to talk about more!!! If you read this far, feel free to hmu to chat about it because my best friend who played the base game at the same time I did and screamed with me about it has not played this yet and ahhhhh!!!!!!

Not another Simblr Tag
I was tagged by the cool @vatorelilith ♥ thanks a lot !
Rate in order favorite to least favorite, Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4: Sims 2 > Sims 3 > Sims 4 > Sims 1
Favorite expansion: Depends ... TS2 : Bon voyage and Freetime (or something) were my fav/ TS3 : World Adventures/ Supernatural and Showtime (I actually looooooved this one, the shows were so cool to do)/ TS4 : Snowy Escape (for the fun and Komorebi !) and maybe the Selvadorada gamepack (I always forget the official names sorry ^^”) for Selvadorada and the adventure side. I guess I just love to make my sims travel !
Small pets or horses: Pets ... I’m actually more excited to get cows and llamas with Cottage even though it feels weird to not include horses in a farm pack ><
Favorite active career: Actor or Paranormal Investigator (when you have things to do, the pack is kind of fun)
Favorite LTW/Aspiration: None. I choose depending the sims I’m creating but so far my favourites to complete were the ones related to the new worlds like discovering Sulani or Komorebi. I think it’s a good way to discover  new pack and see what it hides :)
Whims, wishes or wants and fears: Wants and Fears ! I remember having fun with that back at the time ! Also, the new like/dislike system is kind of cool ! But I still have to actually play the game to discover what it really brings ...
Favorite occult: Witches, always :) And I love the system they created for ts4. I wish they would have added more but it’s still better than before in my memories. I only tested witches on ts3 before and it wasn’t a huge thing in my memories so yeah, ts4 witches are the best to me I guess ! I also love vampires but witches are my tribe now irl so ....
Cowplants, Bonehilda or Social Bunny:  Cowplants AND Bonehilda ! The social bunny isn’t as iconic as them ! I remember the imaginary spooky ones in ts2 when your sims felt alone, that stuff was terrifying XD But Bonehilda and the cowplants are just such a fun and add to the licence, I couldn’t imagine not seeing them. I was so happy to see Bonehilda again with Paranormal :)
Favorite non-PC Sims game: The Urbz :)
Favorite spin off game: Still The Urbz
How do you pick the names for your Sims: It usually depends on their ethnicity, their look and their storyies. For Destiny Harbour though, it was the contrary. I though about the name and the story first and then I created her in my game. I also choose some names based on characters/people I like and I also check the meaning of their name and see if it fits or not. For Leïla and Soraya, they’re arab and french so they have arabic names; Leïla is named after Leïla Bekhti (a french actress) and Soraya is one of my favourite arabic name. Hiro and Renji Kaneki are half japanese and are named after Tokyo Ghoul characters. Denise Bailey is actually named after 2 black character I loved on TV show (Denise Hemphill from Scream Queens and Miranda Bailey from Grey’s Anatomy). William was named like that as he coud be a Shakespearian character. Hugo is a reference to Victor Hugo, a famous french author as Hugo is obsessed with french culture. Milo is named that way because Milo also can be related to seduction (and he’s hot af!) and also because of the personnality type. Aïssa is named after Aïssa Traoré (a french activist)and it also means Alive (she chose that name when she transionned).
Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): Both ? It really depends on what I want to do. I used to create an entire family but now I like to also includes townies as well into my sims legacy just to see what mess it will create ^^
Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: Both, as long as the content is good, and there’s a lot of it here !!! The only thing that convince me to follow someone or not is also their inclusivity. I’m totally not attracted by only cis white straight skinny representation that used to be around for a while so yeah, I’m happier when I see my dash full of colours and representations.
What year did you join simblr: I was on Simblr before it existed :p I remember looking for different blogs when I played TS2 and discovered the cc universe. Tumblr wasn’t a thing back then so each creator had their own blog and everything was free ... Yep, most of you are too late to have known this amazing time ! Anyway, officially I joined in 2019 :)
I tag @cyberth0t @pralinesims @xldkx @ladybugsimblr @ladykendalsims @sleepymoodlet @idajha @alelelesimz @someone-elsa @aniraklova @poetic-falls @hufflepuff-sim @shesthespinstersimmer @bluesuedesims @budgie2budgie and anyone who’d like to do it (feel free to tag me or ignore this)

Indie Game Reviews
Hello, everyone! After I posted about the games I’ve platinumed I received a few asks about the Indie games I’ve played, so I figured: “Why not review my favourites?” Below is a list of Indie games I’ve played that I consider above average. Hopefully this list will help people decide if they’re worth playing or not. Keep in mind, though, that these are my opinions. If anyone would like to discuss the games further, please feel free to message me or send me another ask specifying the game you’re interested in. I’m always happy to discuss games. XD
Whispering Willows
Tumblr media
Whispering Willows is like a throwback to the 90s computer games that we all loved and played when we were kids. With a spooky atmosphere and almost game board-ish feel, the story takes place on an old mansion property where a young girl named Elena Elkhorn must depend on her Native American roots to find her missing father. Switch between human and soul to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and attack enemies. Though a bit slow-paced, the story and gameplay are solid and definitely worth a try. 6/10
CounterSpy
Tumblr media
CounterSpy is a fun little platformer that's almost comedic in nature. You play as a (possibly) British spy during the Cold War, who spies on the Russian and American forces to prevent nuclear detonation on both sides. The missions are pretty straight forward, with you shooting or sneaking your way through enemy territory to discover their plans of attack. If you fail to thwart them ... it's the end of the world! While it isn't really anything too special, its in-your-face 1970s James Bond style music and gameplay are entertaining as hell, and if you set it to the hardest difficulty, it is a fun challenge. I'd recommend it as a good time-waster. 6/10
Assemblance
Tumblr media
Assemblance is a psychological first person thriller, where you play as a man who is forced to repeat a time paradox over and over until you figure out a way to move on. The story is subpar at best, but it's not terrible. The graphics are beautiful and very relaxing, as is the music. I've heard this game be described as a "mind fuck" too, but I'm not sure if I'd give it quite that much credit. Either way, it is a good game if you're looking for something to pass the time, and if you're looking for a light challenge. 6/10
Velocibox
Tumblr media
Velocibox is a pure challenge game where you control a tiny square that zooms through various obstacle courses. It doesn't sound like much, but the levels can be extremely frustrating and the trophies are so hard to attain that they've only been awarded to a ridiculously small percentage of players-- we're talking hardcore gamers with no life (like me). If you're looking for a fun challenge, this is the game for you. 6/10
The Park
Tumblr media
The Park is a first person, mostly cinematic horror game, where you play as a schizophrenic mother who chases her son through a theme park that she used to visit when she was a child. As you play, you begin to ask yourself if what you're seeing is real or if it's just the result of the mother's mental illness. There are a few jump scares and puzzles to solve, but all and all it's basically a horror movie, with a child so un-likable he makes you miss the boy from Babadook. The story is worth exploring, however, and the graphics and voice work are topnotch. I'd give it a chance, unless you scare easily. 6/10
Race the Sun
Tumblr media
Race the Sun is a meticulous challenger game where you steer a tiny plane through an endless field of obstacles. The objective of the game, aside from collecting trophies, is to simply beat your own record before you crash or run down. You collect extra points by hitting rings, which eventually allows you to upgrade your plane for future levels. While I will admit that at first the game is fairly addictive, it can get a little boring. You can't memorize the fields because they change and randomize every 24 hours, which is a neat idea, but it still does little to keep players interested. But if you're looking for a decent challenge, then I highly recommend this game. Personally, I've come to use it as a fun time-waster while I download other games. 6.5/10
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Tumblr media
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a story-based video game where you divulge the disappearance of an entire town. I wouldn't suggest this game to people who prefer action-packed shooters or tricky platformers, because aside from walking around and watching a beautiful cinematic story unfold, there isn't much else to do. Don't get me wrong, though; the game is still highly enjoyable. You play from a first person point of view and collect clues that give you insight to the missing townspeople. Each clue reveals a short story that helps you arrive at the conclusion, in the form of several astral projections. Aside from the creative story and stunning graphics, the voice acting is also incomparable. Definitely worth a play through if you're into cinematic game play. 6.5/10
The Unfinished Swan
Tumblr media
The Unfinished Swan is a first person puzzle game where you play as a young orphaned boy named Monroe. The game is relaxing and wacky, as paint your way through various levels to help Monroe finish his recently deceased mother's favourite painting. As you play, a world of imagination unfolds, and the air of innocence reminds you what it was like to be a child. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something light-hearted. 7/10
The Fall
Tumblr media
The Fall is a puzzle platformer where you play as an advanced robotic spacesuit AI named Arid. The game begins with you crash-landing on a seemingly abandoned planet, with your pilot injured and unresponsive inside you. In order to save him, you search the planet for medical supplies, but soon find that the robotic inhabitants are dangerously malfunctioning. To save your pilot, you must succumb to several tests, forced on you by the head AI, and defeat an army of homicidal robots. The puzzles are fun and challenging, the story is wholly original, and the twist ending makes you think you're watching The Sixth Sense. If you're looking for an intelligent Sci-Fi Indie game, you're looking for The Fall. 7/10
White Night
Tumblr media
White Night is a horror survival game where you play as an unnamed man who crashes outside of a haunted estate. Injured and in need of help, he hobbles to the mansion and breaks in, desperate when no one answers the door. Once inside the house, certain events transpire and horror ensues. I won't spoil the plot, but there is a twist ending and a story worth experiencing. The game has a very noir-type feel to it on top of the horror genre, which I thought was very unique. To beat the game, you must outwit the ghosts that hunt you, solve puzzles, and discover clues that eventually prompt the ending. The game also does an excellent job at making you feel helpless and vulnerable, as your only defences are running, hiding, and depending on matches for light. I personally didn't have this problem, but I have heard people complain about their eyes hurting after a few hours of gameplay-- so as a warning, the game is almost entirely black and white. If you're not sure if you can handle that, then I'd highly suggest watching a spoiler-free video on YouTube before buying, just to see how well you adjust. Overall, it's a great game that I highly recommend. 7/10
Contrast
Tumblr media
Contrast is a platformer clearly meant for the PC, but it is playable on consol. If I had to describe the setting, I'd say it's almost Tim Burton-y in nature. You play as a voiceless woman named Dawn, who watches over and guards a little girl named Didi. Didi lives with her poverty-stricken mother in a tiny house in a town filled with corruption and debauchery. With no friends and nowhere to go during the day, Didi sneaks out at night to play; therefore, it is your job to make sure she stays safe. When her father starts meddling with some dangerous loan sharks, however, events transpire and you must help her save her family. Aside from some irritating controls on consol, the game is great and the story, obstacles, and puzzles are magnificent. The voice acting is also highly commendable, which was a pleasant surprise. Didi is actually voiced by a little girl, not an adult playing a child, and she did such an excellent job I thought Disney hired the cast. I definitely recommend this game, especially if you play on PC. 7.5/10
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Tumblr media
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is another story-based game in which you play as a first person detective searching for a missing boy named Ethan Carter. Much like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, the game is almost entirely cinematic with a gripping story and stunning graphics. While exploring various locations, you will find clues and solve intricate puzzles in order to piece together what happened to Ethan. Without spoiling the plot, I can only say that the mystery turns very dark and engaging. Definitely worth a penny or two. 7.5/10
SOMA
Tumblr media
SOMA has repeatedly been praised by fans for its "mind-blowing" original story and designs, but I personally took issue with some aspects of the game. I will agree first and foremost that the story is fresh beyond belief: it begins with you, Ethan, booking an appointment with a famous neurologist after viewing a flashback of a car crash. It becomes apparent that Ethan suffered a brain contusion during the accident, which could, at any given moment, kill him. The next day you visit the doctor and agree to an experiment that could help Ethan and others like him. After a long conversation, you get strapped into a machine, then wake up in an underwater, apocalyptic hell. SOMA has also been described as a "mind fuck", and you might agree, especially when it comes to certain choices you're forced to make. I personally found the game to be a bit buggy, which is apparently common, slightly slow, and somewhat boring at times. The bulk of the game consists of you exploring a huge map and evading "monsters", which can be rather irritating when they get too close. There are some horror elements to the game, but nothing spectacular. All and all, it's worth a quick run through, if not for the story alone. 7.5/10
Type:Rider
Tumblr media
Type:Rider is an educational platformer where you play as a colon (two dots) and work your way through several levels to learn about the origins of various forms of print. If you'd rather just play the game you can easily skip the information-- but I promise you, it's fascinating. You can learn about Script, Gothic, Times New Roman, etc. The game itself is a blast, but the history lessons work as an added bonus. 7.5/10
Oxenfree
Tumblr media
Oxenfree is an intriguing supernatural mystery graphic adventure where you play as a teenager trapped on a costal island. What at first seems like a harmless trip with friends, it quickly turns into a living nightmare when strange events begin to occur. The story itself is distinctive and gripping, where certain decisions you make help determine the outcome. The game has several endings and multiple puzzles that require independent success or teamwork with the other NPCs. The gameplay is smooth and soothing, the visuals are clean, and the story is outstanding. Highly recommend. 8/10
Feist
Tumblr media
Feist is an adorable platformer with some of the most intelligent enemies I've ever seen. If you're up for a challenge, they'll make sure you're not disappointed. Though a mostly dark game, with the main character, the enemies, and much of the levels being a black silhouette, the game is fun and endearing. You play as a cute, unidentifiable creature that fights through obstacles to save his abducted partner. The game has a very primordial feel to it, with a sort of "survival of the fittest" connotation. Without the strength or biological advantages that your enemies have, you must rely on your superior intellect. The trophies are also incredibly difficult to achieve, half of them being speed runs, with almost no players having platinumed it. Aside from a few glitches that occur every now and then, the game is definitely worth buying. 8/10
The Swapper
Tumblr media
The Swapper is a platformer where you must solve various puzzles by making and erasing copies of your own character. There is a story to follow, set in space, where you begin to experience weird occurrences. Each new area offers harder and harder puzzles, but nothing unmanageable. For me, the true wonders of this game are the graphics and music. The soundtrack is so beautiful and ambient that I found myself downloading the whole score halfway through the game. The map is relatively confusing when you get a bit further in, so you might find yourself lost every now and then. You do have to backtrack to some levels, so I suggest learning the layout early on. All and all, it's a fun challenge well worth your time. 8/10
Wick
Tumblr media
Wick isn't a game I would recommend to anyone who frightens easily. The game is riddled with jump scares and portrays a haunting story about five dead children and their psychotic killer. Despite being a survival horror, there is a story to explore through certain clues that you can collect while playing. The game has several challenges, including a DLC that answers a lingering question that looms over you throughout the original levels. In order to beat the DLC, though, great memorization of the map and clue locations is required. Wick also holds some of the hardest trophies I've ever achieved for an Indie. The game itself takes place in a very small campground at night, where you are pursued by the five dead children. Your only source of light is a candle, which burns out if you don't locate more. Each level runs longer and longer and introduces a new child every time, each with their own unique form of hunting you. If you decide to brave this game, prepare for a long night. (Game is not as slow as the gif suggest) 8/10
Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Tumblr media
Before I get into this game, I must be sure to tell everyone that it is likely a game for children, so I'll be judging it from a child's perspective. While I don't see it winning a ton of awards, even as an adult I'll admit it's fun as hell. You play as an octopus with a wife and two children, so already the theme is ridiculous. To make matters worse, your family doesn't know that you're an octopus, so you have to do your best to keep it a secret. Throughout the game you must perform various mundane tasks, but as an octopus the controls are intentionally wonky, which makes for some hilarious accidents. There is also a story to follow with a rather adorable ending. The game is colourful, cartoonish, original, and warm-hearted. Perfect for anyone who's looking for something soft and enjoyable. 8/10
She Wants Me Dead
Tumblr media
She Wants Me Dead is a noir-type platformer, possibly set in New York City, where you play as a man trying to outsmart his homicidal cat. The cat, after being neglected by her owner, forces you to work your way through various traps and obstacles. The levels naturally get more and more challenging as you progress, but the game itself is incredibly fun. Additionally, only one song is played throughout every level, but it's one of the most kickin' songs I've ever heard in a platformer-- "She Wants Me Dead" by CAZZETTE vs. AronChupa ft. The High. The beat of the music actually helps you determine when it's safe to jump, which I thought was really cool. If you're looking for a decent challenge, I'd highly recommend this game. 8/10
Layers of Fear
Tumblr media
Much like Wick, Layers of Fear is a first person horror game filled with jump scares and a recurring theme of helplessness. Nothing scares me, but when I had my sister play this game she got a headache and threw me the controller-- it scared her that badly. The game does a stellar job at recounting the story of a painter gone mad as you explore his house and piece together his past. Aside from the spooky atmosphere and wonderful graphics, Layers of Fear also includes one of the most hauntingly beautiful soundtracks I've ever heard. If you're looking for a good mystery/horror game, Layers of Fear would be my first recommendation. 9/10
ABZÛ
Tumblr media
ABZÛ is an adventure art video game where you play as a female diver who silently uncovers the ruins of an ancient civilization. The entire game takes place in the ocean, where the eco system seems to be terribly damaged and unbalanced. As you swim through each beautifully crafted level, you discover the reason for the imbalance and work to revitalize the ocean. The graphics are spectacular, the story is new, and, if desired, the game is also educational with nods to marine biology. The overall control of the character takes some getting used to, but I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for something uplifting and peaceful. 9/10
Typoman
Tumblr media
Typoman is an adorable little platformer where you play as an all-black typographical character made up of the letters H E R O. The game itself is particularly unique, with every enemy and almost every level being made primarily of letters. The story sports a creative battle of good versus evil in the form of words, with "good" words having positive effects and "bad" words having negative effects. As the hero, you must solve puzzles and traverse through a post-apocalyptic wasteland to defeat the evil running rampant through the streets. The graphics are gorgeous, the story is amazing, and if not for the game's unfortunate tendency to crash during the mini games and mild glitches, I would have given it a perfect ten. 9/10
Unravel
Tumblr media
Buy it. Just buy it. I shouldn't have to say anything else, but I will. Unravel is a beautiful Swedish platformer where you play as a little red character named Yarny. As you may have already guessed, Yarny is made of yarn, and as you control him you embark on a journey to find multiple missing ornaments for a photo album. Each ornament produces a page of pictures that "unravels” the story of Yarny's family (humans who don't know that he can move). Each level presents a menagerie of fun obstacles and atmospheres. Aside from the flawless controls and beautiful story line, Unravel impresses players with gorgeous graphics and a soundtrack that could put Mozart to shame. Highly, highly recommend. 10/10
Inside
Tumblr media
Inside is a puzzle-platformer adventure game that really tugs at your imagination. The story is multi-layered and brilliantly crafted without a single word of dialogue. Without knowing or understanding where the story is headed, you play as a nameless boy who traverses through many psychological puzzles, with danger lurking around every corner. Since the game's release, no one has been able to decipher what the story is truly about, but if I had to guess, I'd say it presents an Orwellian dystopia that forces mind control on the masses and foreshadows our eventual future. I believe the entire game is a controlled experiment, wrought by the facility that you're trying to escape-- but really, who's to say for sure? The controls, story, and graphics are crisp, seasoned, and endearing, and they convey a uniqueness of the highest calibre. Highly recommend. 10/10
Limbo
Tumblr media
Limbo is a two-dimensional puzzle-platformer designed by the same company that produced Inside. Much like Inside, you play as a nameless boy who awakens in the middle of a forest on "the edge of hell". How the boy died or if he's even truly dead is a mystery. While searching for your sister, you encounter other hostile children, mechanical traps, murderous creatures, and all around unfriendly environments. As you play, you begin to wonder if anyone is trustworthy and if there's a way out of the forest at all. The game does not hold your hand, so it is up to you to depend on your wits to succeed. Besides being pleasantly enigmatic, the gameplay is also awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys peaceful but challenging platformers. 10/10
Journey
Tumblr media
Journey is an interactive adventure game where you assume the role of a figure clad in robes. While able to play alone, online gameplay allows other players to connect with you, which enables you to share the adventure. The story is silently narrated through cut scenes that you unlock as you venture through the desert, eventually ending up at a snowy mountain. This game is definitely meant as a "feel good" type of platformer, with music and graphics that put some mainstream games to shame. The story consists of you, the character, realizing the fall of an ancient civilization while avoiding the giant automatons left over from the war that destroyed it. I would also argue that the journey you embark on is a quest to find your ancestors, who later guide you to paradise. While I couldn't confirm this and it might not be true, I personally believe that this game was also heavily inspired by the Hinduism. For anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly adventure, this is the game I would recommend. 10/10
Little Nightmares
Tumblr media
I'm sure that by now most of you have heard of Little Nightmares. Personally, my sister and I were looking forward to this game long before it hit the mainstream, and I'm happy to say we were not disappointed. Ironically enough, Little Nightmares ended up being one of the best Indie games I've ever played. With a Spirited Away meets Tim Burton feel, Little Nightmares gives us a puzzle-platformer horror adventure game superior to all others. No one knows the true plot of the story, which has sprung theory after theory after theory from fans, as you work your way through the mysterious Maw and avoid being eaten. I also have my own theories, but if I went into that we'd be here forever. I'll simply say this: Little Nightmares triggers your imagination and keeps you on the edge of your seat. While some people have complained about the slow load times, the only complaint I have is that it's relatively short. I could have played this game for days without getting bored. The horror element is almost kid-friendly, the graphics are stupendous, and the character designs are out of this world. I might even start collecting the comics. 10/10

a collection of doodles; stuff for a 3rd Orre game idea I bounce around sometimes and a couple of OCs
the dream is to one day make a fangame for the orre series
tbh with the way pokemon currently is i don’t trust them at all to handle orre
xd was already Lighter and Softer than colo, and i can only shudder to imagine how much lighter they’ll crank that dial. we might even see shit like...routes...and wild pokemon on them...like??
the orre games had this wonderful moral ambiguity and urban decay that i don’t think pokemon is capable of catering to right now, since they’re trying so hard to have this image these days of this sprawling, kid-focused series. and yeah, s/m’s story got dark and shit, but the game wasn’t marketed that way, and it’s more of a juicy tidbit than the core of the experience.
If a third orre game isn’t unnecessarily gritty and edgy then, like, what’s even the point lol
So i do have rpg maker xp and I do have pokemon essentials and i think i’ve more or less worked out the mechanics i need to have implemented, but i dont think i ahve the time to spare to actually finish it in any capacity because the amount of new assets i’d have to create - tiles, character models, etc - is so massive it would realistically take me several, several months even if i was doing it as a full-time job
so in any case here are some ideas to titillate your interest:
GAMEPLAY:
level scaling across the entire game, across every trainer (possible to turn off for a more traditional pokemon experience). Regular trainers would be set ~3 levels below your team, “strong” trainers (ie cail, rider willie) would be set at your team, and bosses would always be a few levels above. The only place this wouldn’t apply would be Mount Battle, which is, after all, a side challenge. This mechanic would pretty much do away with the need for level grinding except to balance out team levels. reasoning: the orre games are known for their higher difficulty curve, and this plays off it. Double battles also make for very interesting avenues of strategy exploration; with bosses always a little tougher than you are the hope is you might wipe out a couple times before figuring out a winning strategy.
Lucky egg given early but no exp. share.
higher catch rate on shadow pokemon - since the game would start you out at lvl 25 and honestly this is just an anti-frustration feature
Again, level scaling can be turned off for a more traditional experience, but the idea would be that the levels would get pretty high pretty fast, and by midgame you’d be going up against lvl 55s and stuff (just enough to start encountering some salamences and flygons), hopefully ending the game in the 80′s.
Pokedex -> strategy memo, and seen = obtained. Strategy memo actually contains opinions from the player character rather than just standard “animal facts” type stuff.
No routes! Just cities! Pokespots still in effect to limit the player’s pool of usable pokemon.
Missed pokemon integrated with pokespots or maybe made un-faintable so you have to catch them because i’m really not that good at programming guys
SETTINGS:
Orre is a cold desert. I know technically it’s based on the Arizona desert, and I’ve been there, but friggin look at the fashion, these people would all get heatstrokes in a matter of seconds.
So to that end, my orre is actually based on the Atacama Desert, whose topography not only resembles Orre’s (volcanic mountains on one side, ocean on the other), but is a cold desert (with daytime temperatures peaking around 60 degrees F) and is considered the driest desert in the world, with some places having not seen rain in centuries, having been compared to Mars in regards to how uninhabitable it is.
you know, like how apparently wild pokemon can’t survive in orre except at the pokespots.
also the orre colosseum looks just like the atacama hand and i dont think that’s a coincidence
canyons, oases, underground rivers and deep underground cave systems, forests to the northeast and a coast that’s actually somewhat habitable via fog collection
THE UNDER IS BACK
gateon renamed Io Port (the japanese name) to go with the gem/mineral naming scheme of the rest of the game. Plaque added outside lighthouse reading “Io Lighthouse” (GEDDIT)
cipher key lair being torn down by reformed eldes, working with lovrina and gorigan, in order to create an amusement park, hopefully to be an international tourist attraction of the more innocent variety than realgam
Areas given a name. Desert is orre desert, northwest forest is Tempor Forest, mountain range is Kabla Mountains, keeping in line with Eclo Canyon
A new town named Appoak, one of those aforementioned fog-collection coastal villages, which has the distinct honor of being the place you buy your wildflower seeds, which are often scattered in the desert as funerary rites because it’s kind of hard to build a grave out there and this is a tradition that natives of orre held long before the settlers/miners came in and which has overtaken the settlers/miners’ traditions, especially during and after the starvation riots that happened after the majority of the mines ran dry and the companies stopped sending their support to the workers that were now effectively stranded in one of the harshest environments on the planet.
Dead were littered on the streets, no one had the ability to bury them all, and so the tradition of scattering flower seeds instead of erecting graves that would simply be wiped out in the next sandstorm (and have you ever tried to dig a hole in dry sand) became popular since it felt like more closure
Anyways Appoak cultivates desert flowers year-round and sells the seeds and performs funerary rites, as a result it’s considered something of a sacred locale in that no one wants to mess with it because you have no idea who you might be pissing off whose loved one was buried with Appoak rites
CHARACTERS:
Michael, 5 years later, now 18 (in xd he’s called an “unknown teen” by ONBS and honestly he’s so short that i’d feel bad if he was older than 13 at the time of the game) is your player character! Trainer class Lab Kid, with a cool hover-scooter, who is now officially a staff member at the Lab HQ as a result of reaching adulthood (though he’s been helping out with field research long before that.)
Your starter is a sylveon, level 25, because this Michael is not a blank-slate character, and sylveon is both in character and doesn’t conflict with any choice of eeveelution from the first game. In fact, this michael made it through the entirety of the first game without evolving his Eevee, like an absolute madman.
Lily and Jovi start the game off overseas giving lectures on shadowfication and purification, mostly so that i don’t have to create their sprites. But also because them leaving is an excuse for them to take all your pokemon from the first game with them, for “demonstration purposes,” leaving you with just your eeveelution and maybe some second pokemon-i-don’t-know-what-yet-probably-your-choice-of-any-starter so you can hurry up and get to the double battles without sacrificing an ability to make a choice on your starter.
Wes is in the game and he is an asshole and you will love him
Cail actually serves a plot purpose
Cameos from all your favorite admins and named characters from Colo/XD, most of which remain unfought until either late or post-game (because the focus is on the new story, you know?)
Miror B and flunkies at Io Port, the proud owners of a popular and, more importantly, lucrative new ludicolo dance act.
Eldes, trying to make up for his past, sponsoring an amusement park being worked on by Lovrina and her brother, with Gorigan overseeing the construction. Snattle offhandedly mentioned as having been elected governer by default (no one else was running) and helping with greenlighting these projects since he and eldes are, apparently, sand-golf buddies and eldes has been twisting his ear for the greater good
also eldes wears a dress shirt with hawaiian print on it
Dakim lives on mt battle now
not as, like, part of the mt battle challenge. he just . sorta. lives there.
Venus is now the onbs weather girl and onbs can’t decide whether they like her or hate her
the jail squad: greevil, nascour, and evice. They’re poker buddies. orre jail for the rich is basically a retirement home because orre is ridiculously corrupt.
ardos? ein? well...
PLOT
So, your field assignment is to collect samples of M18 - also known in Almia by the name of “Dark Crystal” and sometimes colloquially referred to as “shadow crystal” in Orre - for research.
As you probably already assumed, this stuff works as a catalyst for shadowfication and Orre happens to be supernaturally abundant, though it having been strip-mined out by cipher during the last two cipher events has made it much rarer (and it’s theorized by NPCs that the return of wild pokemon may have something to do with the lessened M18 presence).
touching it initiates a small flashback cutscene, as it’s apparently transformed from normal quartz into M18 by the abundance of negative feelings somehow (again, you’re collecting it for study) so that’s how we get some nice backstory about michael’s dead dad (who isn’t eldes, sorry guys, he’s a guy named Prof. Taiga because - haha - Taiga Lily) and other characters
Somehow this investigation leads you to the first rumblings of a resurgence of cipher, who is also collecting M18, though for much more nefarious purposes
So, anyways, in XD, when you beat ardos in the orre colosseum, he sent you a creepy-ass email declaring that he’s basically gonna stalk you forever and kill you during cipher’s - what, third? - third coming, which he’s totally gonna do. Sequel hook! which comes true! because HELLO, your opponent is Ardos, who’s been working in secret this whole time, plotting your demise.
Also ein is there, which is important because...
QUICK HEADCANON BREAK
In colosseum, Cipher specifically targets Celebi because they know celebi’s power is directly tied with undoing shadowfication. (Material in-game suggests that celebi has been responsible for purification for generations of rui’s family, which means cipher didn’t INVENT shadowfication, but they did create a method for doing it ARTIFICIALLY)
However, in XD, cipher doesn’t target agate at ALL. they never even step foot in it. In fact, they’re so woefully underinformed about purification that they feel the need to kidnap Prof. Krane over it.
How does that happen?
Well, we know cipher in game 2 is the main branch, and cipher in game 1 is actually just an orre side branch. Whose only real plan with shadow pokemon was just to rig up really exciting and morally inexcusable colosseum matches for rich people to bet on. No world domination in game one!
So my theory is this: Cipher orre branch created shadowfication basically on a whim and tried to make money off it, which you stopped. When you stopping it attracted attention, cipher main branch had to take notice, and realized that, hey - fucking shadow pokemon ,fuckin world domination, right??? so they promptly took over all of cipher orre branch’s operations and replaced the old personnel with new ones from main branch, while forcing them to hand over their research.
Ein did not take being fired well.
In fact, he took it so poorly that he made sure to destroy all his information on purification before handing over his research.
Cipher in game 2 has no idea the connection between Celebi and purification.
BACK TO THE PLOT
Because Ein has been re-hired by Cipher, he brought with him his knowledge of purification.
They know about celebi.
Also wes is there? He plays a major role, mostly after it’s revealed he’s actually a cipher admin.
...His eevee and espeon are missing.
time travel shenanigans idk
it rains at the climax for the first time in 10 years!
this is a wip
if this is interesting to you guys lmk! im always open to talking about it more in-depth or hearing ideas. hahah...

Woooo, getting inspired again to work on Cathedral Tower Defense! Still cant decide on Malachi’s colourscheme, but meh XD OTHER THOUGHTS AND IDEAS AND THINGS
* Aww, turns out there’s indeed another game already called Hand Of God, so that beautifully punny name idea won’t work :P ALAS!
* But on a more positive side I found an MV-compatible rpgmaker plugin that lets you have an ‘armour points’ system like I wanted! There isnt any sort of strategy rpg type system yet but at least I know I can make it work if I change from the more literal tower defense to a turn based regular rpg thing... * Okay, so my idea of ‘armour points’ was that enemies would have like a second hp bar you have to deplete first. Sorta? Like, you can attack people even when they’re at max armour, but the damage you deal will be lower and they have higher chance to dodge and counter. And if you deplete their armour bar then you can deal really huge critical damage! And this would be how the protagonist’s sniper skills would come in handy, she can preemptively mow down enemies as theyre approaching the tower, and arrow attacks can whittle down armour points and inflict statuses and stuff. So your skill during this segment will give you advantages or disadvantages when the other army reaches your base and you’re thrown into actual battle. (But there’d also be close combat characters who can lower armour points too, so you’re not completely screwed if you mess up sniping.)
* I also think I’m gonna decide to make the protagonist a gender chooseable type thing like in pokemon! My first idea for them was a female protag but there’s no real sort of ‘the character has to be that’ kind of feeling deep in the ol scriptwriter heart o mine. And it could help with how I’m totally stumped on a design for her so far, it could be less pressure if i can make three designs, yknow? Tho now I’m not sure I can think of two other equally fitting default names. i need to find a website that lists religiousy-sounding names! or I could just say that Amity is the character’s surname and the player can choose their first name. Sir Amity, Lady Amity, Master Amity...
* I like the idea I had for doing worldbuilding on the fantasy religions of this world and making them like different perceptions of the same event that happened in the distant past. And having them be different factions for the player, different moralities without any clear good/evil, yknow? And hmm, now I’m thinking maybe make them elementally aligned? Cos the godstone fragments that allow humans to use magic would come in different varieties, maybe the different religions/factions/whatever each specialize in a certain one. That way your morality/reputation choices could have an effect on gameplay! give you passive bonus skills you can unlock! Also it helps give me an idea of how to limit them, cos i cant have too many or I’ll be working on this thing forever, lol. I always wanna give a game like a million endings! So i dunno, a small-ish number would be good. Maybe four or five? Six at the most and three at the least. Anything less and it’d just be as boring as a plain good/evil choice, anything more and I’d get carried away. Though the number of beliefs doesnt necessarily have to align to the number of countries involved in the plot. Tbh its kinda weird whenever jrpgs have like.. a country that all believe the same thing. Weird. That just sounds like how people in real life are all ‘all of america must be christian! everyone arabic is muslim and bad!’ Plus it’d be hard to keep the options not being a good/evil divide, cos one of the countries is gonna be at war with this country and it’d be easy for the player to just believe whatever religion those characters follow is ‘the bad choice’. A big theme i wanna do with the factions is like.. rather than not having any of them ever do anything bad, the ambiguity would come from ALL of them having at least one huge atrocity committed in their name. Making it very clear that the problem is people using religion to justify their horrible actions, rather than a problem with religion itself.
* Oh, and having the number of religions related to the number of elements in the battle system would also give me an idea for how many subspecies of demons i should create! So far all I know is there’s gonna be a plant and rock type, since I’ve made party members who’re those. But I was considering making the rock one more of a rock/fire combo magma thing! Like, we can limit it down to a smaller amount of elements if each one contains multiple? Like just make it two ‘job class’ type routes for each element. that demon has rock and fire skills, the flower one has plant and poison skills. And maybe different final form transformation thingies depending on which one you pick! I’m just imagining a super cool fancy even more flowery Florin and like a super dark badass poison one and he’s all like ~woo now i can sleep in style~

DotNW Remake/Remaster DLC - Marta: Wish of the Age/A New Journey and Richter: Never Ending Thought/Start of Tragedy (work in progress names)
Annon-Guy: Let’s go over some things about the Marta and Richter DLC ideas;
Marta 1: If there’s a stealth section, than Marta’s core headache would be put aside or won’t be immediate. Also, if Marta gets spotted, I think she would immediately run away and wait in a hidden checkpoint spot, allowing you to try again. It would not be fun if you get automatic game overs for being seen (and it would be too sad). (There would also be skits depending how many times you’re spotted. 0 is best and would impress Tenabrae, 1 is tolerable, 5 would be bad and 10+ would leave Marta disappointed and releaved she just got through that mess).
Richter 1: Would Aster and Aqua be playable during the DLC? Does Aster carry a stun gun? Also, I don’t think it would be an automatic fail with the zombies if Aster has HP to spare and Aqua’s helping you. If Aster’s KO’d than it would be a fail, but I think they would just fall back instead of it being a game over.
Marta 2: I think as soon as Marta gets on the boat, she would hide while Tenabrae tries to get it to work (say they have to take because there are Vangaurd soilders leading people out and Marta would get caught if she follows the survivors). Hawk, Alice and Richter would meet up and talk about what’s happening (let’s say Richter and Hawk are being kept in the dark by Alice). After they finish, Richter would suspect they’re on the boat (even before Tenabrae accidently activates the engine because it would probally be a Tethe'alla Noble’s boat). Marta would try to talk to tell about the canon and as soon as it starts, Marta throws one of Decus’ collonge bottles stunning them before Alice and Richter jump on. After Tenabrae gets hurt, Marta would use the palm strike sending the two into the water before passing out. The rest after Marta wakes up would be Marta and Tenabrae’s first month of the Journey proper. The final boss of the DLC should be Alice.
Richter 2: I think the final boss of the DLC would be Ratatosk in his original form. It would be slightly hard sense you won’t have Aster and Aqua helping you in this fight.
Marta 3: Should Tenabrae be playable in the DLC so Marta won’t be alone in the fights?
Richter 3: Should the story end as soon as you beat Ratatosk or as soon as you return to Sybak or Palmacosta?
Marta 4: Should she recap this story to Emil and the Regeneration Crew? (after Lloyd joins)
Richter 4: Should his story happen while he’s rembering how it all happened? If so, should it be after the Temple of Ice or after Alice saves him from Lloyd at Altimira?
Both 1: What sort of places would they go to and how many places? Would they be places from the main game or new unseen places? I think their stories would only be 1 or 2 chapters long.
Both 2: Should they be pre-order bonus’ or should Bandai Namco wait for a week or month to release them (to give players time to play and beat the main story). Although, there will be a warning bite if players try to go into the DLC before playing or beating the main story.
Both 3: Might be random but funny, but say if you get a game over and choose to continue, The Regeneration Crew and Aqua would give Marta and Richter a funny look about Marta and Richter biting it if they’re still alive telling them the story/still alive remembering it. If you choose not to continue, nothing happens.
Both 4: Would the DLC be free or cost $5?
Both 5: Marta and Richter would be locked between levels 5 - 10 in the DLC Stories. *~*~*~*  GKD here, adding my response to the bottom because I have more to say than will fit in the tags. I like the idea of checkpoints as opposed to restarting the entire area because that’s always frustrating. However, depending on how far apart the checkpoints are, it may be impractical to have her physically run back. Waiting for a game over screen to pass can be frustrating, but so can waiting for your character to run back 3 sections because you messed up one button input or moved too far to the left or right. Warping back to checkpoints might be better with the implication that she’s running back. For example, have her begin a running animation and have the camera rapidly move back to the checkpoint to find Marta already there, catching her breath in a dark corner as guards walk past. Number of times spotted would also be a great mechanic because it trains you for the Temple of Lightning where the number of times you get struck by lightning has an impact on whether you get the normal or good ending. Especially if the number of times you’re spotted only impacts the cutscene/skit you get and not which ending you get, serving as a bit of a tutorial on “your actions even during gameplay have consequences, not just when we give you scripted choices.” I would LOVE if Aster and Aqua could be playable, but Aqua would probably function only as a party leader token and not as an actual combatant since Tenebrae himself says Centurions do not fight but have monsters fight for them. Aster should absolutely have a stun gun since he has one in Onshuu no Richter. All his artes are gag attacks. Party popper/ exploding beaker of mysterious science liquid for a fire attack. Smoke bombs for a darkness based attack that add a confusion debuff to enemies. Some other gross science slime that has a water element and a poison debuff. Throw stale donuts for a ranged attack. Trusty stun gun for electric element attacks at range. And his regular melee? Really wimpy slap that you can combo into a sequence of: weak slap, shove opponent, stomp opponent, then kick opponent and after the kick, he hops away clutching his foot because he is not adept at fighting and hurt his poor toes by kicking at the opponent wrong and jamming his toes. XD When not playing as Richter, he will, like Kratos, cast first aid on Aster any time he’s below 75% heath and will prioritize him over healing, say, the monsters, even if the monsters are below 50% health. Pontus and Enki from Onshuu no Richter would be constant battle companions since Aqua doesn’t routinely pact with monsters and she had both when Aster was still alive. Nice little Easter egg for fans if they’re named Pontus and Enki in the party roster. Aster getting KO’ed would probably be an auto fail, yeah. My issue with the second Marta scenario is... where would Marta get Decus’s cologne from? I agree with most of the rest though. A one-on-one fight with Alice would be fun. Richter 2 is a big fat yes. Good excuse for us to see Ratatosk’s Original form and another one on one duel. Marta 3: In the same way Aqua should be playable via monsters, Tenebrae should also be playable via monsters. Richter 3: The more Richter content the better, in my book. It would be interesting and heartbreaking to fight with a debuff all the way back to Sybak to show Richter is depressed. I love when game mechanics reflect the mental state of the characters.  Marta 4: She could recap it, but I think it’s more interesting to have us play her scenarios as they occur at the beginning as a sort of Tutorial for the game. Richter’s could be played as a recap as he remembers it happening but Martas feel like they should be played in the moment. If Marta did explain to Emil and the others, it should be done as a fade-to-black scene rather than have her tediously explain everything.
Richter 4: Richter’s happening chronologically spoils a lot about the game, so I think playing Richter’s quest as late as possible would be best, definitely during a moment of reflection.
Both 1: Agreed that 1-2 chapters is best. They’d just be bonuses and not the main content, after all. I think some new locations would be fun, but I think there were a few more unvisited places in DotNW that could be added in. So maybe a combo of both new places and old places that the original didn’t let us revisit.
Both 2: I personally hate preorder bonuses. It rewards rich people for spending frivolously. I’d rather have it as a DLC released after the fact or come bundled with the game (with the game marked up, obviously, since we’re paying for bonus content.) Like how the Game of the Year Edition of The Elder Scrolls Oblivion came with all the expansions? Yeah. I’d like it to do something like that. If it comes bundled with the game, perhaps it’s unlockable as New Game + material and only accessible once you’ve beaten the game before.
Both 3: While I think that success is basically guaranteed since we know Marta and Richter have to make it out alive and I doubt neither of them would be retelling it and having your gameplay represent the story they’re telling, that is a funny idea. Richter just “Yeah, Remember when Ratatosk sliced me in the back and I died instantly?” and Aqua just “But... you’re alive right now.” and Richter just shrugs “It’s a figure of speech.” I imagine Marta’s playable scenario happening chronologically rather than told after the fact. Perhaps Richter’s scenario could be a nightmare? I doubt he’d tell anyone about that trauma, and retelling it to Aqua is pointless since she was there. Marta’s failures are construed as setbacks since she’ll never actually get captured no matter how many times you fail. Richter’s failures are construed as nightmares doing what nightmares do: being dramatic and not being reflective of real events.  Both 4: If they’re reselling the whole game, I think the regular pricetag would be more than enough to cover the extra labor put into the game. That being said, I’d happily pay $5 for it if it was released as extra content and not packaged with the game. Both 5: While generally I hate level-locking, since these are one-off scenarios, I think that’d be fine to lock their levels low.
