InFAMOUS Headcanons: Sweet and Spicy
Hey guys! Had another headcanon thing I thought I'd share.
Favorite flavors, we all have them. Some of us like sweet, others savory. Dry, bitter, sour, spicy, umami, you name it.
Sometimes I wonder about the silly little things about the characters I love. The mundane pieces of lore that the games and comics never really indulge in. The little quirks that make characters feel all the more human. One of these things is food preference. It's a goofy thing to wonder, but hey, it's all in good fun.
And then I found a little nugget of lore and ran with it.
So, let's dive in and see what Cole's favorite flavors are and why one of them might have made things a little bit... Interesting for the Demon of Empire City.
Tumblr media
This little ramble is based on some little nuggets of lore from the InFAMOUS 2 Press Kit, specifically, this picture here.
Tumblr media
Make note of the receipt. Since this came out of "Cole's wallet", we can safely assume that this probably came from a night where he and Zeke grabbed a bite to eat and decided seafood was what sounded good. Or maybe Cole was feeling particularly hungry that day. Regardless of who ate what, aside from the oysters and the ice-cream, both the grey mullet and the Chinese crab were spicy. Either way, it gave me ideas.
Here's a link to the press kit if you want to see all the goodies for yourself.
So it seems like this receipt strongly hints that at least Cole has a fondness for spicy foods and a liking for seafood, both make sense. Cole's home city of Empire City probably gets a lot of Neptune's bounty from either local fisheries or from imports as Empire City plays the same economical role in InFAMOUS's United States as New York City does for the real U.S.A, so seafood was always a good bet for a decent meal for the courier and his best friend. He and Zeke also visited New Marais four years prior to the first InFAMOUS, so it could be where his taste for spice was nurtured, as New Marais is InFAMOUS's New Orleans and it would stand to reason that Cajun spice is just as much of a staple in New Marais as it is in it's real world counterpart. A love for spicy foods would also come in handy for Cole in his courier days as the heat from the spice could probably give him a good warm-up should that day's weather be particularly crappy or a good "pick-me-up" should he start feeling tired on the clock.
This love of spice probably didn't stop after his powers were awakened, if anything, I think his love for spicy things would work in his favor during the quarantine of Empire City.
Traditionally, spicy spices weren't just a flavor boosters and maskers, they were also used as preservatives as well as herbal medicines. Am I saying Cole would know what spices would be good for what? No. But his enjoyment of spicy foods would probably make whatever food that he, Trish and Zeke could get their hands on at least more palatable and probably helped with allowing foods to be kept a little bit longer. Though the spices would probably have to be rationed a bit because the grocery stores aren't really stocking anything and the relief-aids don't really come with ground-up coriander or cayenne pepper in it.
We've covered the spice, but what about the sweet?
Now some may say that if the receipt was from a meal shared with friends, then the most likely one who ordered the ice-cream was Zeke. Though I'd argue that perhaps it was Cole who wanted the sweet treat.
Why?
The answer is simple, Cole's an athlete.
Now I know this sounds absolutely silly, but when you really think about it, it makes sense that Cole would be the one with the sweet tooth.
As many people know, sugar is a preferred energy source for the body, it's quickly processed, giving a good boost of energy for the body as well as sugars being literal brain food. Seeing as the brain is a very calorically expensive organ to maintain. Many also know that because of the energy boosts that foods high in sugars can produce makes them ideal for quick snacks on if you're on the move or just needed a nice pick-me-up.
Seeing as Cole is a skilled free-runner and used to be a bike messenger, he probably never left his home without a quick pop-in-the-mouth snack he could munch on when he had a moment to rest, most likely trail-mixes with a heathy mix of nuts, dried fruit and candy.
These quick snacks were basically like keeping a jerry can full of gas in the car. Should the tank start to run low and you're not sure when you'll see the next gas station, you use the gas in the jerry can to top off the tank just enough to hold it off until you can get to the station and properly refuel.
The dopamine boost was nice too, being hangry is a thing and being able to stave off the hanger made Cole's job just a little more bearable.
Things get interesting when Cole's powers awaken.
You see, even though Cole has become super-human, he is still very much a human. A biological being who's organic machinery still needs to be maintained and fueled. The Electric Man still needs to eat, drink, sleep, all the things that go along with being human.
Being a living battery may have it's obvious perks and draw-backs, I think it would also have some more... Mundane consequence that wouldn't really fit in a game or a comic. The Demon of Empire City is still running around, burning calories as usual, but now something else is eating into his fuel, his powers.
While yes, his powers are fuel by the electricity he absorbs and stores in his body as well as Ray Field Radiation, I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that his abilities also tax the body's energy stores as well. With his nerves acting as the wires which the electrical charge runs through. You also have the fact that Cole's body is still going through the typical wear and tear of just being alive and constantly running around on top of getting into scraps ranging from shoot out fights from purity obsessed jackasses masquerading as "protectors" to fending off mutated insectoid mole monsters and crazed icemen.
Yes, his electric drain abilities do heal his wounds rapidly, but healing still need the raw material and energy to do so and those resources don't just pop up out of thin air. He has to replenish these stores. So, man's gotta eat and boy howdy does all that fighting work up an apatite.
It also makes the Demon's sweet tooth itch.
Sugar is energy as stated before and firing off electricity drains not only his electric stores, but his biological fuel stores as well and seeing as Cole is constantly on the move, he needs his energy more than ever. Draining random electric things may stave off the energy crash, but sooner or later, he'll have to stop to eat or run the risk of a major crash.
As for why rocky road? I don't know, maybe that's his favorite flavor of ice-cream. Also, seeing as most likely New Marais is both HOT and HUMID as all get out, a nice bowl of ice-cream doubles up as something to cool his body. Electricity produces a lot of heat after all and all the humidity plus sweating makes for a sparky accident waiting to happen.
-----
That turned out to be a lot longer than I expected, but I hope you all liked none-the-less!

The best camera for creatives
Tumblr media
When it comes to picking the best camera, there are few things to consider. Key questions you should ask yourself before buying include: will the camera be used purely for photography and video? Do you want it to be portable and light for travel, or more sturdy for all weathers? Should you get fixed lens or not? And last but not least, how much do you want (and need) to spend on it?
Buying a great camera doesn't have to be all about work, either. Photography is fun, and as a creative, you've already got a good visual brain. You may already be an avid Instagrammer thanks to the camera on your phone. And, while the best camera phones are undeniably getting better and better all the time, having a good camera set aside for photography still boast a number of advantages. Photography cameras are better in low light, have more resolution for printing at various sizes, can be more compatible with accessories like flashguns, and offer a greater selection of lenses.
Lenses with interchangeable lenses come in two sorts, using the traditional DSLR design or the more modern mirrorless type. Basic DSLRs are less expensive – and budget mirrorless cameras are smaller and more portable. Both types are available at a wide range of prices, and can be capable of pro results. The video capabilities tend to be better with mirrorless models – and lenses tend to be cheaper for DSLR systems.
aIf you don't need the ability to swap lenses, then the alternative to buy a compact camera or action camera and have a more portable photographic solution to your picture-taking needs click here
Jump to what to consider when buying a camera
The best camera for creatives overall Our pick for the best camera overall is the Fujifilm X-T200, the reason being it’s a mirrorless camera for everyone, with fantastic image quality, top-notch 4K video and access to the terrific range of X-mount lenses. It's a photography camera that has fantastic video and can be picked up by the novice user, while offering enough depth for the keen learner and the enthusiast.
And speaking of video, if that's your thing, our best 4K camera is the Panasonic Lumix GH5, with its impressive breadth of movie-making features. It's by no means the only good 4K camera on our list though, so read through to see the options available.
Fujifilm X-T200 As a creative you're likely not only looking for a good camera that takes great images, but also one that doesn't break your bank account. We reckon that Fujifilm has come up with a fantastic answer in the form of the X-T200, a sophisticated mirrorless camera that comes at a pretty reasonable price, especially for what you get.
Its traditional, dial-based handling makes it a genuine pleasure to use, and unlike many entry-level models, it comes equipped with an electronic viewfinder, making it a great option for those who like to compose images at eye level. The LCD screen is also a great option however, a generously sized 3.5-inch example that can flip around 180 degrees if needed. Images produced by the camera look fantastic, with those trademark Fujifilm rich colours, and the X-T200 can also shoot great-looking 4K video.
Having access to the amazing range of X-mount lenses is a terrific bonus as well, further solidifying this photography camera as a fantastic choice for creatives of all stripes. It's not the most sophisticated Fujifilm camera, but for the price, this 2020 model gives you a fantastic level of functionality and depth of creativity that will reward any user who puts in the time to learn the camera and get better at shooting with it.
Nikon D850
The Nikon D850 is still top dog in the DSLR world, and unchallenged by Canon when you consider just how many things it gets right. Normally such cameras are intended to excel in one area, such as speed or resolution, but the D850 delivers in all of them. Its 45.7MP sensor produces richly detailed images, particularly as it lacks an anti-aliasing filter, while 7fps burst shooting can be boosted to 9fps with an optional grip and battery. The 153-point AF system, meanwhile, is still Nikon’s most comprehensive iteration. And naturally, 4K video is on board too.
Around its solid core, this camera is ready for unlimited creativity, with time-lapse shooting, slow-motion video output in Full HD, in-camera Raw processing and a raft of other post-capture adjustments all falling to hand. Shooting at night? Many of the camera’s controls light up, and the ISO range stretches to a setting equivalent to 102,400 – a rarity on a camera with such a populated sensor. Need to shoot silently? This is not possible on many other DSLRs, but here you can fire 30fps bursts in complete silence.
Targeted at photography pros – and as at home in the studio as it is in the field – the Nikon D850's body usually comes on its own. But if you don’t already own a lens you’ll be well served by partnering it with the excellent AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR for general use.
Canon EOS Rebel SL3 / EOS 250D Canon has been making really affordable digital SLR cameras for years, and with the EOS Rebel SL3 it has best entry-level DSLR around. Known as the EOS 250D outside North America, the Rebel SL3's design is sophisticated while still being friendly to the novice – boasting the guided Creative Assist mode to help you get to grips with what the camera can do. It’s fully connected, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for super-fast shot transfer and remote control, and it also can now shoot 4K UHD video at 25p, further expanding your creative options.
Another big plus is the Live View functionality – composing and focusing using the rear screen rather than the viewfinder – which has been radically overhauled from the previous model and is now much improved, with whip-fast Dual Pixel autofocus that’s actually much better than the 9-point system offered in the viewfinder. Composing with Live View can be useful in all sorts of creative situations – if for example you’re photographing human subjects, it’s much easier to give directions without a camera pressed up in your face. The Rebel SL3 is also extremely small and light for a DSLR, weighing just 451g, and won’t take up too much space in your bag.
The EOS 250D blends many of the advantages of DSLR cameras with those of mirrorless models, creating a fantastic DSLR that’s suitable for everyone from entry-level users to more advanced shooters – for an excellent price, too.
You can grab it as a body-only option, although most people just getting started will no doubt want to spend a shade more to pair it with the EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even opt for a kit with the all-encompassing EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM instead, and if you fancy something similar but with a bit more powerful, take a look at the Canon EOS 90D, which has a more solid construction and better-suited to experienced photographers.
Panasonic Lumix GH5 It’s difficult to know where to start with the Panasonic GH5; it's such a good camera that there’s a lot to pique the videographer’s interest. 4K footage can be recorded in both DCI 4K and UHD 4K flavours without the heavy crop factors that plague other 4K models, and this is captured in high-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 (internally). You can also use focus peaking to get focus bitingly sharp, call on an anamorphic shooting option, capture at high speeds for slow-motion output and opt for a (paid-for) log option. Video aside, there’s plenty more to love, from the excellent 3.6 million dot viewfinder and articulating LCD through to 9fps shooting and 225 AF points, all inside a sturdy, weather-sealed body.
Not quite what you need? The newer Panasonic GH5S variant opts for a 10.2MP sensor for better dynamic range and low-light performance, but misses out on sensor-based image stabilisation and is more of a video-only option.
Nikon Z50 Number 6 in our list is the Nikon Z50. After Nikon joined the Great Full-Frame Rush of 2018, where it felt like practically all the major manufacturers were unveiling new full-frame mirrorless systems, photographers everywhere were keen to know where they'd go next. The Z6 and Z7 were and are excellent – and expensive – cameras. What next?
The answer: the exceptional Z50. An APS-C model, the Z50 is no mere slimmed-down version of its flagship siblings, but is an excellent mirrorless camera in its own right. Its physical handling is simply superb, with a chunky grip that makes the camera easy to operate one-handed. On the inside too it's just as sophisticated, with a gorgeous sensor and sophisticated autofocus, and what's more it comes at a price specifically tailored to undercut its close competition like the Fujifilm X-T30. What's more, thanks to the FTZ mount adapter, users can also enjoy the incredible legacy of Nikon F-mount lenses. Shooting as fast as professional DSLRs, the Nikon Z50 isn't just a good camera – it represents amazing value and a truly sublime shooting experience for any creative. Look out for the twin-lens Z50 kit, which is a superbly-priced bundle. Sony Alpha A7 III
Just as Nikon’s D850 quickly became the DSLR that everyone wanted to switch to, Sony’s A7 III has mirrorless users saving up their pennies. While many models have their specific focus and target audience, the A7 III really is a camera for all click here A 24MP full-frame sensor, hybrid AF system that covers a staggering 93 per cent of the frame and 4K video from oversampled footage are just a sliver of the highlights. Sony has focused on the details too, installing the useful AF joystick that found fans on previous models, and boosting battery life to a very respectable 710 frames.

Thoughts: Iwata’s Philosophy
Hey guys, I know I do reviews on here, but I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the history of Nintendo, the key people who’ve been working with Nintendo, from Gunpei Yokoi, Mr. Iwata, Shigeru Miyamoto, Reggie Fils-Aime, etc. And I’ve been going over and over in my head what has made Nintendo so lovable and so great, and I’ve just been thinking about what I would call “Iwata’s Philosophy.”
I know this isn’t a review (My switch is actually with my family in Florida so I won’t have any reviews ready till they’re back) and I might end up deleting this depending on the reaction or I might put it in a sub-forum somewhere, but I feel like I just have some thoughts I’d like to noodle out.
Tumblr media
Lately all my thoughts have been with the Nintendo Labo VR kit, announced a few weeks ago, and now finally shown with a video, and more detailed screenshots. I have all of the Labo’s, and I can say I have a deep love for each one, even if I wouldn’t exactly say the games are great. Nintendo is probably the only company in my opinion that could make cardboard seem so exciting to purchase, it’s honestly kind of weird admitting that, but I fully stand by it.
Tumblr media
(This is why I will die alone)
But I digress. After having a Switch for just over two years, and having all of these Labo kits, I can safely say right now, that the Nintendo Switch is my favorite system of all time. I’ve never had so much love for a device that I could gush about it for hours upon hours on end, and still have so much more praise for it. (And yet I still sent my baby to Florida with my family whom I don’t trust)
The fact that Nintendo could make something so fun, yet so simple and elegant is a testament to what the company has stood for since it’s introduction to the video game market.
This is what I’d call the Nintendo Philosophy. Ever since the president, Hiroshi Yamauchi took over, he turned Nintendo around and made them into one of the most successful companies in the world. From a scrappy playing card company, to one of the largest video game titans across the globe. He did so with an iron fist, intimidating and inspiring his workers to make more, for cheaper, and for the better. While not every decision he made could be considered a good one *cough* virtual boy *cough* He was someone who had a knack for talent, and knew that pragmatism was the core philosophy for any company that specialized in engineering.
He managed to keep costs among many of his products low, which his workers also fully embodied, from Yokoi, to Iwata. His philosophy fell down to Mr. Iwata, who took over the company in 2002. Iwata was able to keep the core of Yamauchi’s philosphy to keep things cheaper, while still being fun. However; Iwata didn’t like how strict the company was run, and decided to let developers figure things out by keeping to their own ideas, no matter how inane.
This is what would lead to what I’d call the Iwata Philosophy. Iwata had looked at Sony and Microsoft, and saw that they were battling by challenging each other’s hardware, and solely that. Iwata thought he could make consoles while not as powerful, but more fun. This is what lead to the Revolution.
Codenamed the Revolution, the Wii was a colossal hit. I had one as a kid, and I couldn’t put Wii Sports down to save my life. Nothing felt better than bowling or tennis, and the subsequent games to follow such as Skyward Sword, Wii Party, Wii fit, Wii Sports Resort, Dokopon Kingdom, and many more were all games I played with ease, and enjoyment.
Of course we can call the Wii U a... bump in the road. I won’t be dramatic like other journalists and people who claimed Nintendo was going to die due to ONE console failure since 1995, and since Nintendo has a huge amount of money, everything was to be fine. Of course, very unfortunately, Mr. Iwata passed away in 2015. Very unexpectedly at a young age, and to a company that needed a leader like him more than ever.
Nintendo, now with  Tatsumi Kimishima as president, pressed on, and in 2017, the Nintendo Switch was released.
Tumblr media
Reaching phenomenal sales, and having a (now) fantastic library of games to support it, the Nintendo Switch is one of the most amazing devices, and probably the greatest consoles I’ve ever owned. Even though it’s not as powerful as the PS4, or the Xbox One, it’s still just as if not more impressive than both.
But this is where Iwata’s Philosphy kicks in, and where it lives on. Iwata didn’t care for more powerful hardware, his focus was on the games. The Nintendo Switch isn’t very powerful compared to the other consoles, but that doesn’t matter, the Nintendo Switch is still in a league of it’s own. It has some of the best exclusives, has a huge array of indie support, and it’s social nature is fantastic.
I’d compare the Switch to the video game Deadly Premonition, but that game is DEFINITELY not for everyone. While I laughed and loved that game, it wasn’t for most of the general public, in fact, I think a lot of people would dislike that game. A lot, and that’s ok. The Nintendo Switch IS for everybody, young and old. It’s so easy to understand that just watching the concept trailer that released in October of 2016 would be enough for anyone to understand what the thing is and does.
Now let’s look back on the Nintendo Labo. The Labo kits are as bare basic as anything, in fact, if you take out the switch, you literally have cardboard, with minimal amounts of plastic, string, rubber bands, and stickers. And it’s fantastic. Nintendo Labo is where Iwata’s Philosophy TRULY lives on. It’s so minimalistic and inexpensive, yet it’s more fun and intriguing where all else would fail. Xbox One and PS4 are looking too far into a different dimension to be taken seriously with this. It’s only fitting that Nintendo would, and COULD get away with something like this.
I mean this in no bad way whatsoever, in fact I love it. I know everything I said feels like some sort of pointless ramble, but it’s just some thoughts I had out loud and felt like I needed to say them, because after doing all the reading I’ve been doing, everything I’ve learned, and everything I’ve seen, I just really felt like I needed to say something about all of it.
If I could I’d thank Mr. Iwata for everything he’s done, and if he were still here, I’m sure he’d be more than proud with what the Nintendo Switch has done for NIntendo. Because it’s not about fancy hardware, or how expensive you can make a system. It’s about having fun, and being fun for everyone.
Thank you for reading.

Best Digital SLR Cameras - How to Choose The Best DSLR Cameras
#What's Your DSLR Camera?
A great number of amateurs photo lover are needing for a DSLR, the fact is that they don't have any idea what it is exactly, if have, just like It's similar to the streamlined one in my pocket, so it is going to be better, it is a large one. You can Even check Best Budget Smartphones for Dynamically Awesome photography in Its Range
In my way to describe a DSLR, it would be ‘All-Round'; you may use the DSLR for virtually anything, shooting pictures of beautiful animals, beautiful landscapes or wonderful astronomy, recording vibrant high quality video clips.
And there's a significant gap on the price too. How much are you prepared to pay to get a nice camera that fits your needs? I will urge several cameras with affordable budget!
#Why a DSLR Camera is much Far Better compared to Compact Camera?
Possessing a DSLR Camera, you will benefit from:
> Interchangeable lens - centered on the kind of photography you desire, you can purchase lenses optimized for the task, rather than the one-size-fit-all lens of a compact. > Optical viewfinder which goes through the lens by means of a mirror or prism - search across the camera lens for perfect framing and find out far more detail than using the LCD display. > Faster autofocus - that the electronic camera will focus substantially faster and with better precision. > No shutter lag - when pressing the shutter release button and shooting the real pictures, no lag period between them - you won't overlook any memorable moment. > No delay in between images - you'll be able to shoot no less than 3 fps (dependent on the camera model it might be even to 12 fps), perfect for action shots. > Less noise in low light - it's likely to take in low light whilst still secure usable image.
#How to Select the Best DSLR Cameras for Beginners?
Think economy
Here, economy means deep consideration on a new: camera bodies, lenses, third-party lenses, accessories, things you find on, such as Amazon, eBay tutorials, conferences, and much more.
All generates brag that their cameras are armed with plenty of features; occasionally they supply precisely the exact same thing under a different name.
Generally, I do not recommend you buying a luxury and many advanced camera as your first one. The money that you invest on the most advanced camera cannot automatically finish the amazing master slice, the wonder operator is behind of this camera - you. On the flip side the complex choices will confuse you. Finally, you simply work together with the "fully-automatic style", which is what your "Compact Camera" could realize. An entry degree of camera could product better images with a fantastic lens than the combination of advanced camera along with crappy lens.
#Which is the Best Brand for Digital Camera?
Without any hesitation Canon and Nikon Are powerful and Durable camera brand
The brand isn't the most significant thing, while the market share does, it must lead your pick. Let me tell you the reason, if you only need a camera and the kit lens, market share does not affect you
However, if you would like to keep investing and upgrading the hardware, then choosing a popular brand can help save you money and your time, since you can easily find all type of accessories for this, whereas for a little brand, you are going to have to hunt to get exactly what you need, maybe with much more time and money.
#High Resolution for DSLR Camera Is Always Needed?
When choosing a digital camera, then there are important specs to take into consideration besides which color to select. Years ago, the way you would approach this was to have the camera armed with the highest/biggest resolution. It sounds larger one way all-round, multi-function and more powerful.
The fact under cameras is not so simple. Larger resolution is truly fantastic, but remember the critical aspect - the last picture quality depends a lot on the detector size. Most DSLR cameras outfitted with about 24 X 16mm APS (Advanced Photo System) sensors. As the resolution increases, sound increases also.
If you prefer a "Full-Frame" sensor which is very large and expensive and equipped in high-end cameras, you get a resolution of 24Mp from 36X24mm sensor. Being the first DSLR camera for beginners, it is a little earlier to speak about those information. Moreover, you could crop large parts of images recorded through higher resolutions, but why not find out to frame the thing a lot more efficiently.
#DSLR Camera: What is Live View?
A live view LCD on a digital SLR camera lets you preview the images you're going to capture using the large LCD on the back of the camera. A live view LCD is a fantastic feature for people who hate to peep the actual world through a "Hole".
The persistent picture shown on the LCD enables you to make sure you're having the makeup right, regardless of if your eye isn't pressed into the viewfinder.
But hold on a sec... This "unique" attribute seems a fantastic lot exactly enjoy the way every compact digital camera works.
It's, but incorporating a live view LCD to a digital SLR is not always a fantastic alternative as it seems.
LCDs can be handy, but they also do lead to disadvantages in design overall performance; especially, if you work with Live View, the auto-focus will be slow, finishing the rate benefits of SLRs over compacts. The most crucial aspect, the power consumption will be significantly increased. When shooting natural scenery in the wild, a DSLR camera exhausted might be a good weapon against attacking from animals, rather than taking their photographs back.
Without using a tripod, taking images in low light and/or with telephoto lenses may be challenging. Nearly all DSLR cameras get some form of stabilization. There is also a trick however: Canon and Nikon offer insertion within their lenses (IS lenses for Canon and VR lenses for Nikon), while Sony, Pentax and Olympus create the insertion function in camera . The difference is critical simply because for Canon and Nikon you should buy IS/VR lenses, which might be quite more costly than normal lenses, while with the other producers that the insertion works with any lens. The effectiveness of stabilization is all about the same in the two philosophies (3-4 stops); the stabilized lenses provide the advantage of you seeing the exact stabilized image in the optical viewfinder, while hammering bodies enable you to use any lens to the specific same effect.
