So instead of staying up watching movies for new years eve like we normally do, my brother and I somehow convinced ourselves to make our own monopoly board with locations and stuff from the stories we write. It took us like five hours but it was so worth it.

We replaced Chance with Fate, and Community Chest with Destiny, so that’s fun if a little over dramatic.

Some of the spaces include, (and I don’t expect anyone to understand any of this) Darkheart, The Hull Wastes, The Vola Moon, New Denver, Xale, Palegate, Sandpiper Bay, and Nhyl.

We also made our own pieces from our characters and each of them has a special ability relating to the character. (ex: Alle can take $100 from the bank, but only once, Piper has one free get out of jail, Koti can remove a house from an opponents property but only once, and Astral pays half as much rent on wormholes) (The wormholes replace the railroads)

We also made a rule that if two characters land on the same space, the players play rock paper scissors and the loser loses a turn. This is called a fistfight. (Do not actually hit each other, this game destroys enough friendships as it is)

We also replaced free parking with ‘rob the bank’ and go directly to jail with ‘steal a car’ both have a chance to get you in jail, but also a chance to escape.

We haven’t played it yet, but it’s gonna be great.

November Plans

So I've never done a National November Writers Month before, in fact I had never even heard of such a thing until recently stumbling upon it a few weeks back. I want to participate, but I don't think I'll do so in the traditional sense. While I do currently have a top secret writing project underway, I also have an advisor helping me with that work and he will be the only person I share this work with until it is nearer completion. So while I will be working on this project I will not be sharing any of it, and well, that's just no fun for those of you following this.

My next thought was to get a jump on a story tentatively titled Sister, a story about a man who inherits his mother's house and money, the only catch is that to get his inheritance he must take care of his estranged developmentally disabled sister. It will be a comedic drama based on a woman who is very nesr and dear to my heart. The only problem with this story is that there's still too much background information that needs work. So I will begin to work on characters and other background information for this story with a deadline of January 1st for ALL background information including a complete outline.

So now I have two projects to work on, but nothing that I'll be able to share with all of you as far as actual written work. Thus, I'm going to be overly ambitious and start writing the story of one of my favorite D&D characters I've created. While I have an idea of where this story will take me, I'm not exactly 100% certain where it will lead. I'll be writing this without any outlines and the only background information being a character sheet from the game. I'm hoping to get at least ten scenes out during November with the main goal being to provide an interesting and well written story.

Thus, I would like to invite you all to read the tale of how the infamous Rahitan Darkheart, a general of the endless demon army, arose from the pits of hell to become Tharain Lightbringer, champion of the gods.
