Listen I am ALL for the whole "Hunter Totally Has a crush on Willow BUT doesn't Know it because He never felt it Before / he hasn't been exposed To that much romance" I mean It's pretty Much Canon With the whole deleted scene lol.

BUT I'm not necesarily Sold in the whole. He Finds Out Because He asks someone about it, or someone hints at it and they Talk. Mainly because I don't Think Hunter Would want to discuss it?

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for him socializing and interacting with other characters. But, This Boy was raised On the Idea That he Could never talk about the things He loved, like Flapjack and wildmagic, Because Belos, Mind you the person he trusted and loved the most, didn't Like It. (Plus we know belos opinion on romance too...). Hell, Talking about this things too much Could even get him killed.

Therefore BOOKS had always been His main source of information when it came to things he found intriguing, confusing, fascinating, etc. When He had a question about wild magic he went to the classified section of The EC Library. When He Found Out he was a grimwalker and had an identity crisis over it, The LAST thing he wanted to do was Talk to his new friends About it. Instead opting to read Everything he could Find On grimwalkers

That's Why I PERSONALLY think Hunter finds out about his crush on Willow while reading a Romance Novel.

He starts Noticing The Confusing Feelings around His captain. The Usual: Heart Palpitation, red Face, tingling in the stomach, etc. At first, He's a little curious But He has more important things in mind. But With time and Finally out of mortal danger They start growing and becoming sort of a nuisance. mostly embarrasing.

Intrigued And Kind of worried He instantly Stacks up On Healing Track Books (and some potion/plant/oracle track books too Just in case) trying to Find the specific ailment, or curse he acquired and learn How to get rid of it.

He Finds SOME possible things and, even tries some remedies, But Nothing Serves His situation. Until in the middle of his research, just grabbing books at random at this point, he finds a romance novel, Flapjack Probably sneaked into the Pile To help This Boy Out. Skimming Through It He finds The description Of What He's Feeling. "Hey This is Exactly How I feel About the Captain! I THINK THIS IS IT, FLAPJACK"

He goes Back to the start of the book and starts reading. The Prose is clearly different from the medical Books But This one has the information he needs! He eats the book up, Almost cant put it down. He gets genuinely invested in the charcters and their story. And even Started to imagine himself and willow In some of the romantic scenes the characters shared. At One Point The Characters Held Hands And He was reminded of the First Time He and willow Did the same. (No, he was Not Blushing. SHUT UP FLAPJACK)

All Is well Until Near the end When the characters Kiss.

"W-Wait, WHAT?" Hunter Drops The Book. Face Completely Red. "They Do WHAT"

Hunter Is completely Shocked and bewildered. He can barely speak, Because He doesn't know Much About romance. But he does Know... THAT... its almost exclusively Romatic. Something Couples did. Something He Just Imagined Him And HIS CAPTAIN DOING!

His stomach Started Tingling and He Blushed Even Harder. He realises he doesn't Hate the Idea. In fact, He REALLY likes it???

WAIT, was he supposed To be Thinking like THAT about his captain? WAS he supposed To do THAT with WILLOW? IS THIS-?

Oh....OH.

Hunter Doesnt move for at least an hour
