#his reaction to seeing spike ❤❤❤#they should have just made spike & buffy start an off screen long distance relationship-ish thing#would have resolved the character weirdness with spike and kept things ambiguous to please fans#make it a spike talks regularly with her over the phone but doesn't want to discuss it with angel and co#because it's his private business and he doesn't need it mocked or scrutinized#keeps it open for audience interpretation and doesn't force smg into the show if they can't get her#this could have been the opening for it - andrew knows so the cat's out of the bag and spike has to talk it out w buffy#which again doesn't need to be shown - it can be left mostly up to fans to decide how she reacted#i just love the idea of them quietly supporting each other while they're an ocean away#very in keeping with their s7 relationship and could be taken as platonic or romantic#spike#spuffy#ats s5#5x11 damage
