[1] [2]
In the following weeks, as he sees Jon a few more times, Gerry's hair fades out and he looks rather more 'forest nymph' than 'American Gothic'.
So it's not much of a shock when the next time Jon catches sight of Gerry striding through the library stacks, his hair has been re-coloured. This time it's a smooth buttery yellow and Jon is struck by how young the warm, bright colour makes him look.
Gerry doesn't feel young though, he feels tired and bored and wrung out, and he wishes he had never agreed to take art commissions.
"It's only the one time!" Gertrude had insisted to a very put upon Gerry, very early in the morning. "And if he puts in a good word for you in his circles, your name will really be on the map in the art world."
Gerry wasn't particularly interested in being put on any maps, or being picked apart by rich, stuck up strangers, but he had agreed to try, mostly because Gertrude had put a lot of effort into making his passion for art an actual career and he felt like he owed her.
(He forgets, frequently, just how much of a commission she takes on the sales of his paintings).
So there he was, striding around the library at 7 am and desperately looking for exactly the right reference book. Unfortunately, it has been out of print for years, and Gerry can't seem to find a copy anywhere that won't cost him half a liver. He has the money now, but he refuses to pay half a month's rent to a second-hand retailer on principle.
Jon watches him skulk around for so long, (apparently forgetting that he is, in fact, a librarian) that Sasha comes out from her desk to ask Gerry if he's looking for something specific. She's wearing her big round glasses today and even indulged herself in her favorite waistcoat to beat the Monday blues.
"Why, yes." At this, Gerry looks directly up at Jon, where he is standing and watching him from the upper balcony level. Jon's face burns, and he ducks out of sight, but not earshot. "I do actually come here to borrow books, not boys." And he smartly feeds her the name of the reference book he has been hunting for almost an hour.
Sasha giggles at his antics, "We do have a copy of that, actually, but it's very popular. There's a waitlist; also it's checked out right now."
Gerry's whole demeanor sags and he sighs in defeat. "Guess I really will just have to order it off the internet, then." He eyes the stacks of books, old and new, looking vaguely betrayed.
"No!" Sasha's exclamation takes everyone a bit aback, being that they are in a library and all. "You know, my mate has this sweet little bookstore, and he loves hunting down rare copies of older books, he might have a copy?" She wrings her hands, eyebrows raised in question.
Gerry beams down at her, causing even stoic Sasha to blush and scurry off to get a piece of paper for the address.
They're already most of the way to the front desk by the time Jon realizes just which bookstore Sasha is busy recommending to the man he is dating , and just who owns that particular establishment.
By the time he manages to get downstairs to try to deflect the situation, Gerry is out the door, nothing left but the faint scent of oil paints and leather from his jacket.
***
Tim Stoker leaves Gerry feeling faintly dazed. By the time he stumbles out of the bookstore and into the tea room, elusive book in hand, he's forgotten everything he has ever known in the face of such intense flirting. And Gerry thought he was bad.
Throughout the whole episode at the library, the walk through Chelsea, and the exchange with Tim, Gerry had never once taken a moment to consider that Sasha's friend with a bookstore and Jon's Martin with a bookstore might be the same person.
He chooses to blame the lack of sleep and general disarray that is his life for the oversight.
Which is how, 9:30 in the morning, having been awake for almost 24 hours and completely finished, Gerry walks up to Martin in his tea room and says, "I'll have whatever is pink and in that jug, please. The biggest you've got."
Martin, of course, recognized him immediately. He would have recognized Jon's gothic childhood boyfriend from his social media stalking alone, but Jon's frantic texting was also a pretty big giveaway.
Martin: Relax, I don't bite clients this early in the morning. He's in safe hands with me.
Jon: HE KNOWS THINGS ABOUT ME. Besides, who's gonna stop him from biting you?
Martin: Whatever he has to tell me can’t possibly be worse than the office gossip I heard about you before we even meet.
Jon: W H A T
Now, here Gerry is before him, and he’s quite pleased with what he sees. Even tired and vaguely dazed, his presence in the little room carries a certain energy that Martin enjoys.
"Right away. Take a seat and I'll call you with it." Martin's voice is sweet, but gentle and firm, in a comforting sort of way. Through Gerry's sleepy haze, the instruction makes perfect sense, although he has neither paid nor offered a call name.
Gerry considers taking a seat on the plush bench that occupies one wall, before deciding that he desperately needs a cigarette, and wandering outside.
Technically he is only supposed to smoke at night when he's painting and needs just the right kind of boost, but he decides to call this one since he's on a painting-based errand when he's supposed to be sleeping.
"Gerry?" He turns toward the sound of his name, to find the barista offering him a large to-go cup of what he assumes is fruit ice tea. He frowns at having his name known (his new, much-preferred name, no less) and then frowns at a blonde, bespectacled man in a tea room attached to a bookstore.
His brain finally takes a moment to function, and he puts all the pieces together in an avalanche.
"Martin?" Far from his usual self-confident tone, the single word comes out in a squeak that would make even a toddler wince.
"Yes?" Martin returns the single word in the same solidly reassuring way, and even offers a happy smile.
"I didn't... I didn't recognize you."
"Would be pretty hard for you, considering this is the first we've ever met." Martin's voice is calming in a way that eases Gerry a bit, teasing and all.
"Thank you. For the tea, I mean." Gerry closes his eyes and desperately begs his shit to pull together for him, just this one time. "It's nice to finally meet you."
His hands are fully occupied with a book, a cup of tea, and a cigarette, but Martin doesn't seem particularly bothered by the lack of a hand to shake. "It's nice to meet you too. We're giving Jon a heart attack by doing it without him."
"That is the lawful good," Gerry says, after a long drag of his smoke. "A panicked Jon is a happy Jon, after all. Whatever would he do with himself without a situation to unnecessarily complicate?"
"Yes, the man does seem to thrive on anxiety, doesn't he?" Martin asks warmly, eyes crinkling around a fond smile. "Speaking of, you seem pretty wrecked yourself. Good party, I hope."
Gerry's answering laugh has a razor edge, "Not hardly. This fucking painting I'm working on will be the death of me." Gerry lifts the reference book as proof of trauma and stabs out his cigarette viciously.
"Hmm, sounds like a pain. I hope you typically find art a more enjoyable career?" Martin asks, tilting his head inquisitively. His curly hair moves fetchingly and Gerry catches himself tracking the movement.
"Mostly, yes. Although I keep the bartending gig for variety. You'd be amazed at the sort of inspiration someone can find in the right drunk crowd." Gerry grins, thinking of all the ridiculous things he’d seen walk in and out of the bar in his run there.
"I'd be very interested to see what kind of art you can turn that into. Maybe you'd like to show me sometime?" Martin's words are open and friendly.
Gerry eyes him for a minute, hiding behind a long taste of his drink. He's trying to suss out Martin's motivations, for his kindness and general geniality. The drink is good and it tips Gerry's mood far enough back into cheerfulness that he shrugs off his considerations for the time being.
"You know what," Gerry quips back. "I think I would like to show you sometime. How 'bout tonight."
It's not a question really, with Gerry's typical force of personality behind it, and he leaves the shop with Martin holding an address in his hand and a time to drag Jon over for dinner that evening.
***
Gerry does not make a big deal of Martin coming over. He acts as if any other friend is coming over for dinner.
He tidies, a little. Lights a few candles. Wears pants. The bare minimum really.
He isn't trying to impress anyone, he tells himself sternly.
Except he is, obviously. He doesn't know Martin very well yet, but he does want to keep Jon around, and they are a packaged deal these days. Which he was happy with, truly.
In their limited interaction, Martin had been sweet and put Gerry instantly at ease. He knows, from many years of working a bar, how to spot a dipshit, and feels confident in his assessment of Martin's character.
But, it's his own character that concerns him. People don't always like Gerry past surface interactions. He can be tempestuous and moody, and catching him tired is a pretty bad idea. The combination of artist and mommy issues can be jarring.
He desperately wants those things to not bother Martin though. He wants Martin to like him, and he's not interested in putting on a show to make it happen.
It occurs to Gerry an hour before they're due that he doesn't even remotely know what takeout to order for dinner.
(He knows what Jon will eat, and he obviously knows what he likes, but what about Martin? Why didn't he ask this morning? Why didn't he ask Jon earlier?)
Gerry is just starting to really panic about all the life choices leading up to this moment, when he gets a text from an unknown number, instantly filling him with relief.
Martin: Since you're hosting this time, I'll grab the take-out. Jon says you like Thai, I'll bring that. You got the drinks covered?
Gerry: As long as you drink either coffee, vodka, or water, yes.
Martin: I'm sorry, I subsist only on the blood of virgins.
Gerry: Oh dear. I couldn't tempt you to settle for Earl Grey?
Martin: Hmmm, yes, I'll accept your offerings this time.
***
The first knock comes right on time. Gerry, dressed in his best paint-stained jeans and cherry blossom kimono, opens the door with a flourish.
Martin allows himself to be welcomed in and hands the food off to the dramatic artist, who deposits it on the table where he has already set the tea tray.
"No Jon? Not that I mind quality ‘us’ time, of course."
Martin is busy taking in the rambling studio space and barely spares the attention to respond, although he manages a blush at the flirty tone. "He's, uh, running late. Work stuff. You know Jon."
Gerry smirks at that. "I do indeed. Is it a 'stumble in at 3am' late, or 'we could probably wait to eat' late?"
"Hmmm? Oh, let's wait a bit? If you don't mind." Martin seems equally taken with his painting wall and his book wall and keeps trading his attention between the two. The paintings, being the larger attraction, eventually win, and he meanders over to study them closer.
"Do you keep all the completed paintings around?" His voice is soft and reverent, and Gerry feels a rush of pride for his work.
"For a while. I like to make sure they're in their final forms before I release them into the wild." Martin blinks big brown eyes at him, before grinning and giggling slightly.
"You're very talented. Jon said as much, showed me the pictures, but words and photos are nothing compared to seeing the real thing." Martin really regards his paintings as if they're special, and rather than the prickly feeling of appraisal he feels during gallery nights, it fills Gerry with warmth.
He turns to examine the wall himself. It's filled with an eclectic group at the moment. Large abstracts made by pouring paint and then layering designs over, three-dimensional pieces painted and then embroidered or quilled over in select places, including a particularly wild eye design. Surreal faces and scenes that seem realistic except for the wild subject matter of planets in meadows and chimeras going to battle.
"Is this what comes from your adventures in bartending?" Martin asks Gerry, turning from the wall and towards the slightly taller man.
"That, and my traumatic childhood." Gerry makes sure to laugh at the last, taking the edge off the small confession.
"Obviously." Martin offers.
"Obviously." Gerry accepts.
***
Gerry and Martin drink tea on the floor while they wait for Jon. Gerry gently prods Martin through the story of how he came to open the bookstore. The blonde man even softly confessing that he had to lie on his CV to get the librarian gig at Magnus.
"How old are you? How did you convince them you had a Master's degree?" Gerry is incredulous. Not that he doesn't think Martin could have an advanced degree. But in paranormal research? Gerry hadn't even known that was an option.
"That's the thing! I'm only 29 now . I worked there for five years!" Martin's voice pitches up in disbelief. "I'm still in shock that anyone ever brought it. Desperate times, desperate measures, you know?"
"I do, actually." Gerry shifts slightly, adjusting his balance with the long remembered urge to flee from those desperate times. He fiddles with his teacup to distract himself. He brought this particular set from a pawn shop because the filigree and florals appealed to his love of colour theory. Soft pinks and corals warm against the cool aqua background.
"Jon says you wanted to go to art school when you two were younger."
It's not a question, but merely Martin offering the same space for openness that Gerry had given him.
"I never went. After my A-levels, I had to get away, and I never really stopped moving for long enough to go to uni when I was younger. Now I'm settled and it's not important to me anymore. Besides, no one asks for a copy of my phantom degree when I sell a painting. So I'm happy with how things turned out for the most part." He stops to consider the outline of a possible past for a moment, one where he didn't have to skip college and go ten years without seeing Jon. "Besides, can you imagine a 27-year-old in art school? The young ones would sacrifice me for more creative talent."
Their eyes meet for a moment, and then they laugh easily and move on to different topics, sliding through the easy stages of getting to know each other.
***
Jon does eventually arrive, looking panicked and harried. He de-ages 10 years when he finds them laughing and relaxed instead of tense and awkward.
So, the three of them eat cold Thai take out on the floor of Gerry's loft, leaning against the perfectly good couch. They share the odd intimacy of people who have known each other for very disjointed amounts of time but like each other just the same.

Hi your name pops up on a lot of different fandoms I'm in - hp, trc, tua, atla. I love your blog, and need some advise. I'm having real trouble. I spend hours on Tumblr because I don't want to unfollow ppl as I want to be mutuals with the content creators in my many fandoms. I like some posts of some people but theyalso post a lot of non fandom things and don't tag for it. Like about drugs mental health or political angry stuff. How do you manage so many communities and following so many ppl
hello there! i don't know if it's a lot of not but i follow around 300 blogs and, true, not all of those are exclusively fandom. i think you actually have different concerns here so i'll try to address these as best as i can—i'm in no way an expert in social relations and definitely not one in online ones so this is just my opinion and my personal experience. (this got long and it's 4 in the morning and i can't find the read more on mobile so just bear with me and scroll down)
while i follow people and read fic and occasionally write and interact with a ton of fandoms, i'm not the same kind of active in all of those. i invest lots of energy in being part of the trc fandom bc i'm really passionate about those characters and their stories, but i for example wouldn't say i'm an active part of the hp fandom. I'm not saying you have to choose just one fandom to make your experience worthwhile, but that you really don't need to force yourself to follow stuff you're not interested in or interact with them. i follow ballet blogs and blogs that only post 19th century painters' works. i like having their posts pop up in my dash. i wouldn't say the people running those are my friends, though, bc we've never really interacted apart from me reblogging their stuff occasionally.
what i'd advise you to do is curate your experience carefully. if you follow some blog but they post a lot of stuff that you don't care about and they don't tag that, you can block the keywords in that stuff (not just the tag but you can now filter words appearing in posts. i have filters set for lots of things i don't want to see like spoilers or artists i don't follow or things that really annoy me and i just don't have to see that content. true, sometimes a post escapes that filter, but i still don't see it 9 out of 10 times so it's worth it).
a person still posts too many things that you don't really want to see, and it's too random that you can't really see a pattern on what to filter, you can either send an ask to that person asking them to tag (and they may do so or not) or you can just unfollow them. it might seem ungrateful? or just rude to unfollow someone that you had followed bc they're a great artist or you like their fics but at the end of the day it's you who count and you who have to look out for yourself. follow more sideblogs or just tags of the things you're interested in and the stuff will just appear on your dash.
as for being more active on fandom and making friends—that's just another can of worms. there are plenty of great advice out there (you can have a look at @ao3commentoftheday great advice on the matter) but it's still hard and depends on lots of factors. there are really populated fandoms in which you get lots of interaction from a fic or just a tagged post, bc there's just so many people, but it's harder to make friends there just bc of that. if the thing you're interested in is a rare pair of an old fandom it's going to be harder having people interested in talking about it. my advice would be to just interact with the stuff you like.
reblog the art you enjoy and leave comments in the tags, send asks to your favourite artists telling them what you enjoyed about what they do. leave comments on ao3 (idk if you're a writer yourself but we do notice you and we learn your usernames and we're always excited to see you there). a longer comment gets more noticed than a short one and a short one more than a kudo. we can not see who subscribed our fics but all of that is still appreciated. even if we creators seem popular or unattainable (we are not and at least i don't consider myself a big name or anything like that) you can always drop by and send an ask or just message us to talk about fandom and stuff. I've heard great things about discord but I have yet to try that myself.
i do personally spend a lot of time on tumblr just bc all those political angry stuff and mental health are things that don't get mentioned in my other feeds in other social media and therefore i don't get too stressed about it. i kinda hate going into twitter bc the political talk is about the people ruling my country so it affects me more directly. here i just enjoy the memes about horses leaving hospitals and vibe with it all. i am also a very curious person that gets bored super easily so i really like that here you can find random videos about chicken and then gorgeous pynch art. i like the variety.
that may not be your case though so I'd just say don't be afraid to unfollow people you don't like following and don't be afraid to interact with people you admire. also, don't expect people to just follow you back and don't be disappointed if they don't. you may be in fandoms they don't like or they may like having a super minimalist dash. you can only control what you do so do your best at that!

its very reasonable to try and avoid hurting people where possible but it is much less reasonable to demand that someone else's risqué jokes be removed from a website that the viewer has full power to just... not visit anymore. The joke was in poor taste, making it one of thousands of similar jokes. If you find the comic offensive, that's fine, but referring to people who have run a wildly successful children's hospital charity for over 10 years as "the dick wolves guys" is just shitty.
I never said the comic should be taken down, just that the PA guys were kind of dickheads about the whole thing. They could have either apologized, defended it, or just ignored the criticism and let it blow over instead of bringing it up themselves every few years.

I feel like you’d be a little spiky too if literally hundreds of people began circulating that LOTH page as proof that you hated burn victims and supported burning people in real life.
It was actually a much later page that got people mad at me for “hating white men” because I wrote Riley as a jerk.
There’s no shortage of stupid-ass criticism of comics. Part of being on the internet now, and a lot of people have had it was worse over way less.
Anonymous said to thewebcomicsreview:
Like, not to nelabor the point, but if you think angrily pushing back because multiple people jumped directly to accusing them of having actually raped someone because “only rapists would find that funny” is being an asshole, I just don’t understand your worldview at all.
People accused me of transphobic language when I tagged a Questionable Content page with “the trappening”, but I never felt the need to “push back” on trans people. I considered their arguments, decided they were making a fair point, apologized, and removed the tag.I know some of the people who were originally upset with me were satisfied by this, and I’m sure some of the people who were upset with me were not satisfied with this and stopped following. We all moved on with our lives and I tried to be a little more thoughtful when discussing trans issues so I didn’t say something stupid again.
Anonymous said to thewebcomicsreview:
artists who release their art for free don’t have a responsibility to make sure it doesn’t hurt anyone, are you fucking mental? press the back button. find a different comic. don’t flip the fuck out and demand an apology and then carry a grudge forever when you don’t get it
Sure, lots of comics have difficult or challenging content. Sometimes it’s in the service of a really fucking good comic that wants to say important things about difficult issues.
Tumblr media
Such as Drop Out’s discussion of mental illness, or take your pick of [Most “Great Literature” From School].
Sometimes it’s in the service of a stupid joke
Tumblr media
The Homestuck epilogues have, um, a lot of this, like this segment of middle-aged Gamzee fucking teenage Vriska in a bush for shock value grossout comedy.
And the Homestuck epilogues got a lot more criticism, mostly because Homestuck’s this big huge corporate franchise but also because this stuff is really dumb and worthy of criticism. Much of the criticism is fair, and I think it’s a little cowardly of Andrew Hussie to hide behind his staff like he does, letting them take all the criticism why he poses with horses. There’s certainly an issue when people fire a massive hate mob at random teenagers making their first comics, but a major webcomic/gaming corporation making rape jokes isn’t quite the same thing.
And, really, if you’re sending a message to “The Webcomics Review” asking me not to have opinions of major popular webcomics, perhaps it is in fact you who should hit the back button. Or not, if you don’t want to. I’d be a hypocrite to tell you not to criticize me, after all. Feel free to leave a comment on my comic over at SaffronComic.com!
Anonymous said to thewebcomicsreview:
It’s super good of you to promote humility and accountability like this. Quick question though, how many times has the address of your children’s school been posted on twitter because of a joke you drew?
Hi. This is Daniel Kelly of the Webcomics Review. We recently made a post where a rich and famous comic creator was criticized for making and standing behind a rape joke and selling rape joke shirts and flags.
Some found that idea disturbing.
We want to state in clear language, without ambiguity or room for interpretation: we hate doxxers, and all the doxxing they do. Seriously, though. Doxxers are really the worst.
It’s possible you read my blog, and became a doxxer as a direct result. If you’re doxxing someone right now, stop. Apologize. And leave. Go, and dox no more.

Discussion on Recent Post on PJ
AKA Answering Ask Time
Ah man sorry for just suddenly disappearing like that guys. Just I had to take a sudden break from tumblr. Anyway – I got several asks over the hours I was not on there... though I did turn it off at one point due to some hate being sent to me, which I will address below. I decided to go ahead and answer all of the asks that are surrounding the situation that happened and the events that happened due to it in this post. Any other questions that are specifically asking about something else (though mentioning a bit of what happened Monday) I’ll answer on their own and appropriately tag them, since I know a few of you were wondering about PJ a bit.
Anyway! On with the show! I hope that with this I can clear up a bit of things as well as give my thoughts on what you have to say about it! And I’ll be going in a random order with the asks… so bear with me! ^^
First, let’s do the not so great ones. Exactly – what happened with these:
Tumblr media
Ok… so by now I believe all of you know that Rouge was joking about all of that. Guess I can kinda claim these anon(s) as the first ‘hate-like’ messages I’ve received on Tumblr. Honestly I was expecting hate much sooner than this o-o But you guys can relax – the AUs that Rouge has are not being altered or going anywhere! Though just so you know – it was inappropriate to send hate about this when the problem stemmed more from the fandom and not me.
And to the next… time to do some clearing up ones:
Tumblr media
Yeah @lesmolghost … I thought so too. But then I discovered Amino and OH BOY… I’ll talk more about that with the next Anon answer…
Tumblr media
First – there have been a small amount of people who have been breaking my rules. There has been and probably is sin of PJ floating around on the internet when I asked people to not do it. I’m glad that most do not do this and some even ask the ones who have sinned to take it down on my behalf.
Second - as in how some of my friends would word this: “Show me a body”. This means ‘show me the proof’. I didn’t say that I hated the AUs or want them all to disappear. Goodness! I love all of the AU ideas you all make! Like dang, I am super surprised at that! I was more stating that I just really wanted people to understand who canon PJ is and not argue about it since people have been pretty hostile and even arguing with me on that an alternate version of PJ is canon. It’s fine if you like an alternate interpretation more, it’s fine if you hate PJ all together, it’s all fine – I just want to reestablish the foundation and then release y’all back to doing what you do best – creating stories and ideas!
A big part of me is keeping as much creative freedom to everyone as possible. I am a huge advocate of this idea. I hate limiting people – and my friends can back me up on that. (Honestly, it would kinda make me a hypocrite by having a character design based on two AU Sanses then saying no one can do AUs of that character o-o)
I say that Sam from @askinfresh did a great job of explaining this here: http://askinfresh.tumblr.com/post/158373656135/hi-7goodangel-i-am-here-to-ask-you-about
Plus… gonna mention Amino again – Just… if you have some free time to kill… humor yourself and look up either “Paper Jam”, “Paperjam”, or “Jammy” over on the Undertale Amino and… I think you’ll see where I’m coming from with at least being kinda…ticked about this.
So with that in mind:
Tumblr media
@annaskeleton – That is totally fine with liking how she interprets him! And it’s totally fine to have him in your AU however you imagine him to be like in there! ^^
Though if you want to know more about PJ, I have the tag “paperjaminfo” for any miscellaneous information on PJ as well his main bio on my main tumblr, my RP blog of PJ, and even on a wikia!
https://7goodangel.tumblr.com/pjbiodatru1
But yeah – As long as you mention that your PJ or any of your interpretations of characters are not to canon within an AU – go forth and make some universes!!!
So don’t be sorry about making an AU! Be proud! I can’t wait to see more of it! ^^
And also:
Tumblr media
Yep @iludahirihiri! I am the creator of PJ! ^^ And I would refer to the items above for more info on Paper Jam! These links are on my tumblr page as well! If on mobile, click “Nav for Mobile” and it should take you to the page where all my pages are at!
Now… while the top was a little more neutral or kinda negative… I want to say that majority of the response to what I had to say was positive and overall… I was dumbfounded of how many nice messages I got... I’m gonna try my best now to respond to each one that I was sent here:
Tumblr media
First some anons – though I see one is @artisticcopykat ^^
But just… I was shocked to find people who never knew about how PJ really is… people who knew canon PJ for a while, and people who don’t even like any PJ at all – just coming together and saying nice messages. Like gosh… I say that there is a huge chunk of the UT fandom that is toxic… but you guys? You guys show that with every con, there is a pro. Just man… seeing support from all angles is just… amazing. YOU ALL ROCK!!!
Tumblr media
Thank you @sparklyracer44. I can see by the amount of people liking the post and for the ones that reblogged it either as is or added their two cents to it (no matter if you agreed or not! Still appreciate ya adding your thoughts to the conversation!). Again, I didn’t really see that extremely happening on Tumblr – it was happening on other sites I’m either not on as much or not at all. Again – to reiterate – I just want people to understand how PJ is truly. Not to convince everyone to like him or to force everyone to use that version only.
And @aimeetheshrimp, that’s exactly how I think on that too! Jammy is like an entire entity separate from PJ and that’s the same with all versions of PJ. I think if people thought of Jammy and PJ as two separate beings – then a lot of air would clear up! Again – love Jammy too! I really thought about the situation of Jammy’s Love and in his own universe – how he acts makes sense. But yeah – not canon, but still interesting to read and individual AU!
Tumblr media
Strangly enough @trusting-my-insanity…
OmniPJ hasn’t gotten that much hate as I expected…
However, while I have not received any major hate directly due to the ship, there have been people on different platforms that have given disrespect and hate to the creator of Omni, @cereusblue.
One time that I witnessed this was when Blue got an ask about how someone mentioned about how popular FreshPaper is and Blue responded “Too bad it’ll never be canon”. (Ya know… to be truthful yet funny!) But then… another person replied to that saying “What did you say you piece of shit?” (sorry for no censors but yeah o-o)
There has also been times that people that have thrown shade onto OmniPJ ship on more than one occasion. As well as directly disrespecting Blue with anything regarding to Omni. Which leads me to AMINO HELLO ONCE AGAIN. As one example, someone straight up told her that they will not change the title of their favorite from “PJ x PJ” to “PJ x Omni” due to using an OmniPJ picture… and both I and Blue explained it to them!
Tumblr media
Yeah… just wow Amino.
And for a more recent example of someone disrespecting Blue, here is a link to a recent post of hers: http://cereusblue.tumblr.com/post/158449708763/this-is-why-i-hate-amino-fucking-spare-me-this
Some just see Omni as another PJ and that is just another topic of ranting and pointing out… =_=
But yeah… I didn’t just want respect for PJ and myself – I want respect for ALL creators and their content.
Tumblr media
@awesome-moni-sama, thank you for the nice message! I do hope that people that haven’t looked at his bio and do things with AU PJs take a look at it and at least get an understanding on who is truthfully! But gosh… still thank you and your friend!!! ^^
Tumblr media
I agree with you @bloo-the-dragon, that’s how it’s like for most fandoms, just Undertale has really gotten that B A D.
All I want and wish is that this could be a lesson for all artists to understand the risks of posting an original character connected to a huge fandom, as well and more so for people who see artist’s content and want to go and do things with their OCs. We are all so supportive of one another, and want to show our favorite characters to others. We just need to make sure we all respect the artists and writers and creators. We all need to double check our information. We are in the age of individual research! If you can access Tumblr, you can also take the initiative to go and look up characters and make sure you know who created them. Sometimes the artist is just as popular as the OC, and sometimes they are not that well known. All artists no matter how big or small deserve the same respect across the board.
But to really end on a positive note – I want to thank everyone again… and also:
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for the support!!! I cannot believe I am under 200 away from 5000… o-o
Gosh I thought I was gonna loose followers due to what I said…but you all proved me wrong! Thank you. And though I am unable to do a lot of drawings due to school, I am so thankful that you are all patient with me!
I’m gonna announce that I do have two comics planned! Of course Mediplane… but I only have arc 1 fully thought out and needing to go through some editing (if I find time), so I want to work on one that is shorter! Which the temporary title is “Witch and Siren”, being about…of course… a witch and a siren and how they interact with one another! More info will be shown of that once I am out of school! Which all I need to do is pass these last few classes, take an exit exam…and I’ll be complete with my masters!
So I hope to go ahead and post some more sketches I’ve done and reblog some amazing art for the time being! Thank you for being so patient again!

Interest Check Q&A #1
To ensure that everyone’s concerns are addressed in a timely fashion, and to assure everyone that the moderator team for the Bakugou Rarepair Zine will remain open and transparent, we’re going to be hosting a few Q&A sessions throughout the month! All the questions/comments will be sourced directly from the interest check and answered accordingly, so please look below the cut for our extended responses.
In this Q&A session, we’ll be addressing the following questions:
Will you guys be accepting those who aren’t as popular/have a high follower count?
What kind of content parameters will be set in the NSFW 'Bastard' Zine in regards to kink/darker content? (Ie, age gap, non/dubcon, violence, gore, watersports, incest etc.)
If the zine itself is going to be sfw, it’d be cool to have a small digital zine that’s nsfw! (If that’d be possible)
Please post info about mods and their experience asap, so many zines lately have had no experienced mods in the line up so would like to see that the people involved have some idea of what they're doing!
1. Will you guys be accepting those who aren’t as popular/have a high follower count?
The moderation team has never considered accepting contributors based on their popularity - our criteria is based solely on the applicant’s skills. An official announcement will be made about the exact criteria we’ll be using to assess writers, artists and merch artists, but an applicant’s follower count, view count or other indicators of their fandom presence will not be included in our criteria.
2. What kind of content parameters will be set in the NSFW 'Bastard' Zine in regards to kink/darker content? (Ie, age gap, non/dubcon, violence, gore, watersports, incest etc.)
Personally, the moderation team does not have any parameters they would exclude, though there may be some kinks and/or darker content that individuals members of the team may feel uncomfortable producing. With that being said, we will be assessing our inclusion or exclusion of certain kinks and/or darker content through future polls, and will tag all works in the zine accordingly. We will remain neutral on the inclusion or exclusion of these topics, and will enforce a no-tolerance policy on bullying and other negative fandom behaviour in regards to them.
3. If the zine itself is going to be sfw, it’d be cool to have a small digital zine that’s nsfw! (If that’d be possible)
The Bakugou Rarepair Zine will be selling full-length SFW (Howitzer!) and NSFW (Bastard!) zines. Currently, we plan to sell both as physical zines and PDFs, but we will make any announcements on this should the circumstances change.
4. Please post info about mods and their experience asap, so many zines lately have had no experienced mods in the line up so would like to see that the people involved have some idea of what they're doing!
The moderation team hears your concerns and shares them too - the last thing we want is to botch the production/shipping process, record a loss in zine sales or otherwise fail to reach a successful conclusion, and we will do our utmost to ensure the zine runs smoothly. You can find more information about the moderation team on our Tumblr page or Carrd, but here’s a summary of each moderator’s experience:
Mod Suga has moderated five other zines, two of which are complete (Dragon Kirishima and Aite) and one of which is preparing to launch its pre order sales (KnY Flowers). She has experience as a co-head, general, organization, social media and temporary graphics moderator, and also has experience moderating Discord servers, character/ship weeks and fandom exchanges.
Mod Kuro has the least experience in the moderation team, as they have only moderated one other zine (Phoenix: From the Ashes) as a co-head, writing/beta and temporary graphics moderator (whilst unofficially assisting with general and social media duties). However, they have experience moderating Discord servers and organizing/moderating mini-bangs and fandom exchanges on their own. They have also taken several university courses on English (particularly creative writing, linguistics and grammar), and have more than half a decade’s experience with writing and graphic-making.
Mod Emi has moderated four other zines, two of which are complete (Dragon Kirishima and Aite), one of which is midway through its pre order sales (Dynamic), and one of which is preparing to launch its pre order sales (InoTan). She has experience as a head, art, beta and social media moderator.
Mod Yaba has moderated four other zines, two of which are complete (Datte Atashii no Hiiro and Aite). She has experience as a head, general, graphics/formatting and production/shipping moderator.
Mod Em has moderated four other zines, two of which are complete (Supernova and Featherlight) and one of which has just concluded its preorder sales (Ongaku no Kokoro). She has experience as a head, general, social media and writing/beta moderator, and has also taken several university courses on English (having been an English major who has been working as a professional writer/script adaptor for four years).
All the moderators have contributed to several fanzines and can be privately contacted if you wish to ask them any questions. Please ensure that all questions are polite and respectful - whilst we understand that you may be concerned about a specific moderator’s capabilities, that is no reason to be rude or disrespectful towards any of us.
And that’s it for our first Q&A session! Thank you to everyone who’s responded to the interest check so far, and we’ll be back with more answers in the event that more questions are asked!
For more information on the zine, check out our FAQs or schedule. Alternately, meet the current mods of our Mod Team (or check out which mod positions are still open), or browse through our Carrd.
