honestly, since muster i truly don't know what to make of namjoon any more. the same mean-mugging, muscle-shirt wearing gym rat who showed up to SOWOOZOO with two unregistered weapons is the same man with this brilliant, sweet smile. joon's smiles always feel open and honest, particularly when he's caught off guard by something funny. by technicality he probably wins best teeth in bangtan because these are the kind of teeth people show dentists when they're trying to get veneers. perfectly symmetrical and so pretty to look at.

yoongi has the most fun smile in bangtan. it's unique -- sometimes it's a little snarky, sometimes it's a little shy. i kind of love that it's not perfectly straight, because it looks real and not like some hollywood dentistry nonsense. of course, when anyone describes his smile the word "gummy" comes up and that's hella accurate but also part of what makes his smile so different. also i live for the moments when it goes from smile to smirk and y'all know what i'm talking about.

i can't figure out if jungkook is a liar or if he is an all-capital letters L I A R because the same man in this photo is the same one who turned up for MOTS:ONE and SOWOOZOO. so he lands right in the middle of the list because he can turn it on or he can turn it off. most of the time, he's wearing this sweet, shy smile with the scrunched nose and the bunny teeth we all love so much. my dear sweet tooth anon explained a lot about the shape of his teeth -- how they angle out just a bit and it gives him this cute, boyish appearance. just don't get fooled baby, this is a man man.

you can't be the world's most handsome man without an amazing smile. good thing for seokjin, he can check off that box. he has model-perfect teeth, just the right size, super straight. and as much as he likes to be a ham for the cameras, he loves to turn on the sex appeal, too. yes, i'm talking to you dimple seokjin. i saw you.

tae would take top honors at the tyra banks school of smizing. this man -- THIS MAN -- knows exactly what he's doing with his face. he's trolling us all every damned time he's pretending he doesn't. the shape of his mouth is so unique, too -- the boxiness that all of us are always writing and reading about is so endearing. or it would be, if he didn't use all his powers for evil. his teeth are super straight which fits the boxy shape of his mouth very well.
park jimin
park jimin is a flirt. watch this man work a camera or a crowd for five seconds and you'll understand why every man, woman, child and houseplant in the general vicinity ends up powerless against him. the best part of his mega-watt smile is that adorable little snaggletooth in the front that in no way takes away from this man's perfection.

Okay so some people (read: one person, and it may have been jokingly) asked me to continue so y'all Imma break down some of my favorite scenes that I'm thinking of off the top of my head:
Starting off with episode 1:
holy hell so many SO MANY scenes but i'm going to start with the scene where Pablo's men come to kill Vincenzo.
Right before this we have the shot with Vincenzo sitting alone on his couch. He's thinking. Close-up on the lighter and all that (SERATONIN). Then parallel to the dark, empty same room, it's nighttime.
Now we've seen so little of Vincenzo but we know he's clever, and we also know that if he was sleeping, we would get that shot. Camera isn't here to trick us (well, not yet anyways), the camera is here to trick them. They think he's sleeping. He's not.
And the shot when he's coming out of the bathroom: SO MANY THINGS HERE:
- first of all, stunning, gorgeous, brilliant.
- secondly, let's talk wardrobe, because this is what I live for rn. The costume design in this show good lord:
- He's in pyjama's. GOOD GOD HE IS IN PJ'S. Why is this such a big deal to me? Think of James Bond movies, or really any movie with a similar scene. The assailant would be dressed in a suit or at least daytime clothes. So they could leave after. But the SHEER AUDACITY of this man showing up in his silks, sweeping the robe wide around him when he spins, and then shooting his would-be killers without changing his expression, not even BLINKING when the gun goes off (idk how sjk does this time after time but that's massive testament to his acting as well).
- the pj's are so symbolic of his character. This shit is his life. He knew it was coming, he didn't give any shits. It wasn't hurried, he didn't at the last minute hide pillows under the blankets: no no no. BOY WAS WAITING UP FOR THESE DUDES and fully was ready to just go back to sleep after. Gives no shits. It's kill or be killed, so he's adapted and accepted it's his life. Later in the show when they're betrayed, Cha-young asks Vincenzo if this (them being betrayed) doesn't bother him.
"I'm used to it." is his expressionless answer. GOD. So genius.
Now i don't like talking about this because I don't want to spoil for anyone who hasn't seen the show so SPOILER WARNING for the early episodes IM SERIOUS LOOK AWAY.

so Junwoo. What caught my eye in episode 4 was not only his shirts but the angle at which he is shot at. Now this might just be me reading into it but i don't think so. Everything (mostly) is deliberate in this show, and shots are so carefully chosen i refuse to believe it's a mistake.
Before filming, camera angles are measured in reference to actors and the scene, to get their "good side" or to capture the feel of the scene and whatnot etc. SO tell me I'm crazy when all of a sudden we're no longer getting these simple, leveled shots of junwoo, but all of a sudden the angle is lower, or higher, we see him from what I feel is close to cha-young's eye level, and the shadow and lighting in the scene gives him a sharper profile, highlights the fact that he's buff.
I remember saying out loud to myself while watching for the first time "why is this random intern dude so buff" and then putting it down initially to just the actor being buff. And then I was wondering why they wouldn't just cast someone whose body fit the personality a bit more.
And then the end of the episode came and i instantly got it. That simple change in shot forces you to focus more on that character, even if it's irrelevant or brief, that character is now in the back of my mind. and as the blur subsides at the end of the episode and he's revealed, IT"S A SLOW SHIFT IN BLUR, but you KNOW for a good part of it, who it is. And during the shift you have time to think about that scene, or any scene with him, but you look and you think "oh shit. I should have known."
phenmominal. I love that so much.
And (last one okay sorry i know these long posts are probably annoying) I mentioned in the last post about the camera being the narattor. Don't believe me just yet?
Let's look at the scene where we find out Mr. Nam has been listening to their plan the whole time (episode 4 i think?). You think nothing of it because the whole scene is shot like a normal scene, you genuinely believe that the characters you see are the only characters in the scene. And because that's what they also believe, and we're still getting to know them, that makes sense. We see what they see from episodes 1-4 because after that point, everything is revealed, and we know everything (basically) we need to know about these characters, and now the show can really begin.
So when Mr. Nam pops up, yes, it's comedic, but you're also kind of startled because it's been hidden from you too, and it's yet again another warning: Pay attention. There's more going on than what you see.
SO BRILLIANT. SO ASJDKHASLKJD.
I might be overanalysing okay but I've wanted a show this ingenious for my entire existence it's so goddamn perfect.
So much 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌 when I think about this show. I literally watch and just 🤌🤌🤌🤌

I follow just a bunch of blogs here on Tumblr because there's so much negativity regarding Jackles it's unreal. I had such a hard time after 15x18 because I wanted to share how excited I was about the confession but everyone I saw was talking of how much of a homophobe he Is... as if he had never shown how supportive he Is towards the LGBTQ+ community.
Since then some people in the fandom has got even worse I swear. They find any random reason to insult and threaren him Just to say that "it's Just a joke".
It Gets so tiring sometimes. But I'm glad that blogs like yours exist.

I’m so sorry that was your November 5th experience. A huge reason why I backed away from the fandom for a hot minute was the constant drama. But I was on tumblr when it happened different fandom but let’s not talk about that and I remember waking up to it and getting excited as fuck because I’ve been watching the show for a while and I always hoped they’d go there but never in a million years I thought they would. And everyone on my dash and just overall entire site was making jokes. It really did suck because something so amazing that was long time coming, was lowkey ruined over the “jokes” and the bringing up “recipes” that were 10+ years old. So i feel you on that. And i have to agree part of a fandom did get a bit worse (i think also some new fans joined just to fuck around and talk shit) so it does suck when it feels like you can’t enjoy something because someone is always trying to nitpick a situation to find something negative in it.
But like you said, thankfully there are some very sweet and amazing people on this site! So there is something good in this fandom<3

Inktober reflection, last days 25-31.
Here we go!
Inktober day 25: Auspex
I remembered that I like my portrait art and loose ink style. I let myself get that unfinished look and it felt good to do that. The brush strokes for her hair and the lighting on her nose are very well done. Need to watch the freckles...they are all a bit one toned and the same size. Spatter works better for this effect.
Inktober 26: Toreador
Composition of this is well done. The call back to the v20 character sheet was a nice touch. I did it earlier with the ghoul piece, but the personal touch of Eli's character with the thorns and lighting instruments is nice. My favorite detail is the slim white line that pops their head forward and keeps them from blending with the shadows.
Inktober 27: golconda
I think this one is a bit weak on composition and execution. I was going for the loneliness kindred may feel when they achieve this enlightenment. I think instead it reads more like a pious woman near prayer. Eh. Can't get em all.
Inktober Day 28: Prince
Okay this one was so fun. I adore a lot of the characters on vampblr. Moineau is one of them. And I love your guys reactions when I draw them. It brings me so much seratonin y'all don't even know. Composition is fantastic, but I got bogged down trying to find the right reference image for her. In reality, I should've just went for it. I am very happy with how this turned out, not happy with how long it took.
I'm also really proud of the details of her hair and dress. I love doing detail work, but it's critical for an artist to know when to say enough on a piece. I'm glad I kept working this, it's exceptional.
Inktober Day 29: Animalism
This one I got into some trouble with. It is fine to use reference images to assist your work. I got lazy and made this too similar to what I based this off of. It's important to make the piece your own. Granted, this is my style, and my techniques. But it is not my composition. And I'm very self critical about that.
Inktober Day 30: Final Death
This one was one of the ones I nailed. It's so cool and a wonderful showcase of different techniques. The story of this one is easy to read, but beautifully open to interpretation as to what happened.
Inktober Day 31: Yourself as A Vampire
First off, I wanna say that I really hope I don't become a vampire, I have enough issues that should probably be resolved with therapy. But. This was fun to work on. I always try to make the final piece something I spend a lot of time on and really finish strong. This self portrait is very accurate to my reference image and it's been a very long time since I've done a self portrait. I think it showcases the proper amount of smug that I try to keep in check...but fail frequently 😂
Since I spent more time on it, I was able to give more attention to details and layers. And it was worth it. The hair. Those tiny tiny highlights were a bitch to get right. The shadows on the brush are really well done. I think where I could have provided more details were the hands. They are a bit cartoony for the rest of the piece. And that came down to the lighting in the shot. I should've reprinted the reference after a level correction, to see the shadows and highlights a bit clearer.
Reflection:
When I first started this journey I wanted to learn how to replicate tim Bradstreet's work. Did I do that? Kinda. I mean this in a nice way but it's a brag. I can replicate any style given enough time and the right tools. I think I once got a grasp on how the man broke down his process, I began incorporating my own style and techniques. Which honestly, is way cooler. Rather than fully copying his work, I learned how to make it my own. And that's more important. I'll give a breakdown of how I do that in another post.
I thought the feeling would be way more joyous when I finished the 31st drawing. Instead I kinda felt myself dreading... Now what? I learned a lot of new techniques, reforged a love of loose ink styles and crosshatched shading, and learned how to utilize multiple references to create my own work. Now what?
Well, I have several projects that I think could benefit from this style. I intend to keep using these techniques both digitally and physically as I continue this journey as an artist. I aim to get a store running, where people can purchase my best pieces. And with a little luck...I'll get my work published. For now though, I'm resting. I'll keep you guys posted as I continue to create new art.

For portraits, pretty much all of my formal art training came from this book:
It breaks down each facial feature (including a whole section on hair and clothes!! 😤✊) and gives you some insane tips for drawing each one that I definitely didnt pick up on observation alone.
It also talks a lot about the grid method for really photo-accurate portraits, but I always found that to be way too ridgid for what I'm going for. Photo-realism never really grabbed me as much as cartoons always have!!
It's like $20 on amazon, but I hate amazon. With a cursory google search I also found it on Ebay for like, half that. 🤩👌

Gosh Tumblr is such a form of seratonin to me everyone here is so nice and I know this place used to be full of ns/fw I think but since the apple thing people have been clean (I'm on android and won't do that stuff anyways, really) so this place is so much more wholesome and less scary and intimidating than twitter
Besides the fact that Twitter is literally full of like (I'm sorry raccoons I love you and this is definitely hurting your name but) Twitter is like the raccoon version of Tumblr if Tumblr was a cat
