Wow, just two days ago, I turned TWO decades old. I really want to say I feel old, but I cannot complain in comparison to a few others I know. But anyways, I could not have asked for an even more perfect day! With friends, food, family, and fun, my pleasures are simple. I just put in extra effort into my food. Let’s begin the recap, shall we?
My brunch consisted of some baked cookies using The Lion’s Pack vegan iced gingerbread cookie dough (it is gluten free and has probiotics and pea protein!), Mama Ganache’s artisans vegan chocolates (thank you to my roommate for them!), a peanut butter and jelly Bobo’s oat bar, homemade soyaki seitan, and a Japanese sweet potato “cake” topped with sunflower seed butter, fig cocoa jam, The Lion’s Pack vegan snickerdoodle cookie dough, a Health Warrior caramel sea salt chia bar, and surrounded with strawberries!

  Everything tasted absolutely divine! The seitan was the most filling yet the most flavorful. I didn’t love the Bobo’s oat bar because there was barely any peanut butter flavor and no jam, so it basically tasted like baked oatmeal. I still ate all of it. It’s not worth the 340 calories in such a tiny bar. My favorite part of the cake was the fig cocoa spread, which I pretty much ate a fourth of a cup of. OH. WELL. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

  Oh, and I ate the sweet potato skins on the side. They contain most of the vitamins and minerals!

  My friend Cory and I made a trip to one of my favorite vegan food brands of all time: Donut Friend! I have never actually been to its physical donut shop, but I’ve had their donuts time and time again at meet-ups and vegan festivals. 🍩👌😋 I was overjoyed to enter into this beautiful realm of sugary and fatty goodness!
Our donut box consisted of:
My custom donut: gluten free base filled with maple pumpkin butter and cookie butter, topped with raspberries, vegan butterscotch, maple glaze, and maple syrup. I forgot the pistachios and graham crackers…OOPS!

Cory’s custom donut: chocolate based filled with habanero raspberry jam, pretzels, and peanut butter, and topped with chocolate glaze, caramel chips, vegan butterscotch, and vanilla glaze drizzled on top!

Cory and I ended up splitting each donut, so we had two each! This was a perfect amount for me, but if I came into the shop a bit hungrier, I probably would have had at least one or two more!

On the way home, I sipped on half a bottle of pomegranate kombucha. It was really refreshing and tasty!

For a special dinner, my family and I visited the Spice Affair in Beverly Hills, a fine dining Indian restaurant. Vegan appetizers were the English Pea + Green Moong Tikka patties and Coco-Li-Flower plates!

The tikka patties tasted really nice, soft, and flavorful! I loved them with tamarind sauce. I’d think of them as mini veggie patties or burgers that don’t taste grainy at all!

As for the coco-li-flower, this was a family favorite. It’s basically creamy and battered deep-fried cauliflower (way to ruin the nutrient density of a vegetable, HAHAHAHA sarcasm) that tastes heavenly!

My main entree was the plate of tangy stuffed eggplant! There were two roasted baby eggplants covered in this spicy tamarind tomato sauce with almonds on top! The sauce was super decadent and complemented the eggplant so well!

Here’s what my plate looked like! I had three more plates just like this. Yep, I had a lot of roti bread too! P.S. Roti IS vegan. Hooray!

Lastly, it’s not a proper day of eating without dessert. Am I right? Of course I am. My sisters and I met Cory once again to enjoy some carbolite frozen yogurt at The Bigg Chill! Cory and I selected the dairy free chocolate macaroon flavor. My size came in a quart, or 32-ounces! No regrets.

I ordered vegan birthday cake cookie dough, double chocolate chip cookie dough, and oatmeal raisin cookie dough. There was also a packet of Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter and cinnamon that were demolished.

Here’s what came about the damage. I only had half the quart and ate the rest the next day. Still absolutely delicious!

Next day froyo noms included scoops of frozen yogurt, True Nutrition salted caramel vegan protein, homemade muesli, and chia seeds from a bag of Mamma Chia vanilla almond granola! This tasted more like ice cream than frozen yogurt, which I wasn’t complaining about at all!

Well, being 20 doesn’t feel THAT different. LOL!

WEEK 11
sat mar 11
i watched a lot of that drama with my mom and it was fun!
also we went to costco/sprouts in the morning
some asian lady asked if i spoke mandarin and whether the cantaloupes were 98 cents each or pounds lmao
was fun overall!
i also listened to an audiobook of frankenstein for ~4 hours and finished the book while playing tetris and having it on at 2x speed.
went to sleep at like 12? 1?

daylight savings time! apparently it’s now permanent which is nice.
woke up at like 11 though.
also tried to wash the ink stain out of my north face jacket xd
watched drama w/ my mom
made crispy almond cookies!! they turned out really nice.
Also I had a dream that I went down on someone and it was??? peculiar. Thanks brain for the reminder that I am in fact, very gay. In fact, thanks for the reminders to “do the gay thing” every like 5 minutes.
i contemplate whether that thought goes away after you come out?

im always strangely anxious about going to peralta. i think it’s the prospect of the fact that i could be participating, i could be doing things correctly. but i’m not. i’m really not.
although i do think i passed the 5 min quiz today!
i went to visit sultana during lunch and made some awkward small talk ,,, she said that she would be happy to write me a rec for nasa but was concerned about the writing quality and she wants me to write some paragraphs to myself that are more pertinent? i guess.

she also brought up MIT and haha “why mit” anything pertinent.
this leads me to question what waller even wrote ??????

i’m really anxious about pi day haha ha ha ha
also i kind of bombed last friday’s chem test… COCl2 phosgene. i understood the concepts but like didn’t really translate everything onto the page.

today in english we reviewed the juggler and connor read my essay and i didn’t tell him that i found the original thing beforehand and tomorrow we’re reviewing the actual pages so i’m kinda concerned hahahaha

i hope that i can get cornell wie but it seems like it’s a long shot.
i started watching the umbrella academe today and lol right now it’s 10:27 and i haven’t started my homework.
today in 5th per: fry graded 3? periods of hw and thanks! i ended finishing the other 2 periods and it was good.
he’s going to be gone tomorrow because of negotiations.
lately i’ve also transitioned from my earbuds to headphones. they block out the sound much better.
i realize when i don’t write what happens everyday down, it kind of just gets lost… lost in the void of my head and i forget things so easily.
today, i was also stressed about mc forms but they extended the deadline to friday and i handed off the forms to nikki after school. arc kind of stresses me bc nobody seems to be doing work.. and i question if people are competent and even working? anyway the question remains: mochi ice cream or popeyes
anyway tomorrow mit decisions come out and i really just don’t want to have to remove anything from my wall. (the flags). i’ve already had so many flags that i didn’t apply to and they’re just all sitting in the other room. i feel like i owe it to my parents to have something to be proud of? something to brag to their friends about but i honestly don’t know.
also i really need to get participation i’m at like 5/30 rn and there’s one month left and i should be SCARED. i don’t seem to be. asdl;kfaslkj :( kina sad dude.
also should i move all of this to tumblr?
