Anyways here are some more of my wednesday opinions cause I need them out of my brain (spoilers obvi)

First? Why is everyone hating on the show?? Between the ‘both men where so bland I couldn’t tell them apart fuck love triangles’ and ‘this isn’t an Adams reboot this sucks they made this show horrible and so out of character’ y’all need to take some breaths.

I found it super compelling and enjoyable!! I loved seeing wednesday grow from someone how hated people and emotions to someone who still hates emotions but has them and has a good relationship with both her new friends and family!

To address the comments above:

Okay maybe Xavier is slightly bland - angsty art kid however his use in the plot and the fact that we are seeing him from Wednesdays pov who obviously doesn’t like him that much and is only using him for her own gain really saves him for me and leaves him open for more development. Talking about the love triangle - I struggle to see one. Its mostly Tyler x wednesday and xaviers crush is one sided, there is no point in the show where she laments over which boy she wants or the fact that she likes both of them - I think we have mixed up what an actual cliche love triangle is in media and ‘these two attractive boys are both in love with the main character’. There might have been more rivalry between them but wednesday certainly wasn’t aware of it

Tyler deserves his own dot point to address the comment above cause HOW CAN U SAY THAT MAN IS BLAND. especially after the last episode. It switches the view on his whole supposedly ‘bland’ point of view and forces u to think about wether thats the real thing and the person in the last ep was an amalgamation of manipulation and grooming as well as deep seeded trauma or if he was playing us the whole time with this awkward clueless personality as he manipulated everyone around him which is such a cool way of looking at it. If u don’t believe me go rewatch the series as if Tyler is aware of everything and is willingly manipulating everyone - cures the ‘he’s boring to watch’ thing instantly.

Okay getting to the second point - I completely see where u are coming from but like its called WEDNESDAY. Its about this version of wednesday not the whole family, they don’t even appear in it very much. when I seperated it from the previous versions of the Adams family it was super good (however I do get where y’all are coming from about the whole ‘crazy morbid loving family’ dynamic being destroyed but I liked the journey that wednesday and mortica went on and I think it added to her character so I am willingly ignoring it

Okay now for the part where I rant about Tyler Gilpin cause I love that man with my whole heart and I am a Tyler apologist first and a human being second

MANS WAS MANIPULATED and has some super bad trauma. From the point where his mum died and his dad practically abandoned him and thennn the first person he thought he could trust to look after him and tell him the truth proceeded to turn around and groom and manipulate and USE HIM for her own gain and chained up a literal child whilst forcing him to change into a monster :/ people keep forgetting that he is literally at most 17/18 but probably 16/17 and has been left by every single adult in his child life. Cut my man some slack.

second: he really did want to leave!! He had no control over his actions as the hyde - he literally says in the first episode how ‘at least one of them would be able to get out of this hellhole town.’ He was a manipulated child!! Sure he might have been slightly dark in his own right but he wasn’t going around murdering people for funzies and he probably only started to enjoy it as a trauma response :/ like what else was he supposed to do?? Go insane cause there was this woman who was forcing him to kill people. He couldn’t control himself as the hyde (u know in the last ep where he said ‘I wake up covered in blood and have no memory of what happened’ ect ect) so everyone saying he’s a murderer who doesn’t deserve wednesday (also wouldn’t a pscyo murderer be like the perfect fir for wednesday? that scene where he admits to hurting Xavier and then trying to get better and wednesday saying she would have done something worse for the fun of it?? Bruh they are so perfect together and have so much chemistry but ill put that in another rant) anyways. Y’all are acting like he just went around murdering people for the fun of it completely aware are endorsing his actions (did we even watch the same show?) when the main point of Wednesday figuring out the master was a hyde was that there was actually another person controlling the monster in the woods and it wasn’t acting alone

Also - I see lots of people being like “yeah but he basically assaulted Xavier y’all are ignoring it he’s a bad person 🙄💅” but like?? So was Lucas? 1 he was in the ‘friends’ who distroyed Xaviers painting as well, and he bullied Eugene and tried to fight/hurt wednesday just for being an outcast and used enid to get into the dance and ruined it for everyone and u don’t see people bashing him? People can change and realise that the stuff they used to do as a tween was bad and full of bias inherited from their parents/society :/

Anyways to sum up that rant - I love my slightly murderous and traumatised but yet awkward and soft hearted barista with my whole life and if he doesn’t get a redemption arch enemies to lovers, joining the gang (enid, Ajax, wednesday, Bianca, Xavier, Eugene and thing obvi), learning how to control the monster inside storyline next season I’m going to riot.

Also antihero is totally Tylers song and I love it

Imma be honest I didn’t dislike any of the characters - I think they are either already well fleshed out and interesting or have the potential to be and I loved the way the three seperate plot lines managed to organically weave and thread together into one whole point just viewed from different angles a lot. I absolutely love enid with my whole heart (I’m not stepping on wenclair at all I love the idea but I just really like the sunshinexgrumpy bestie vibes they have going on and I love Ajax to much to cut him out he’s so supportive and lovely) and she was such a good character with her own plot lines and the way she and thing interacted has my whole heart. Also the way that she got more understanding and wednesday got better at social cues and how to be friends/show emotions was really well done.

Also low key if u apply my fav way to solve this said ‘love triangle’ which is they all just date each other meaning we get both tylorpe anddd these boys who love wednesday with their entire beings and supportive ajax and enid 👀👀👀👀 (yes Wednesday needs too grovel a little with Xavier she did not treat him well at all and Xavier maybe should get more interests than brooding and painting but we can work on it) ((I also approve of the fact that wednesday has two hands one for each Tyler and enid and ajax can share))

Im also seeing a lot of Tyler/Xavier hate but like,, can y’all not see wednesday isn’t the perfect character either? Like she’s a super morally reprehensible character and treats people hella bad some times. she literally put the only two people who she had managed to get attached too/have a connection too (Tyler and enid ((excluding Eugene love him too))) in danger for her own gain. I know thats the whole point of the show and I love her in that regard, it makes her character really interesting but like— she’s not absolutely perfect and these ‘mean bland boys don’t deserve her’ comments really aren’t helping her character development

Wednesday ship headcannons/only gay for now

Tylorpe:

-Tyler is small soon for various reasons, xavier just doesn't like pressure on his back weirdly

-xavier tried coffee art once...he could only do a penis joke. Tyler smacked him.

-xavier won't stop drawing on Tyler's hands, it takes ages to wash off...

-Tyler is soft as anything when the Hyde isn't doing shit in his mind, xavier is dirty minded to hell so meh

Wenclair:

-Wednesday is small but big spoon, Enid becomes a ball for weds

-the addams family practically smothers Enid with family love because "finally someone in the family is dating!!" (Refers to younger gen mostly)

-Enid can and will pick weds up to prevent a murder

-Wednesday nearly killed someone for saying shit about Enid in class...the guy got into a coma.

Ajax x Eugene (idk ship name):

-both love animals alot alot and talk about them constantly

-they bond over having two mams and when their mams met it was awsome af

-ajax plays with Eugene's hair when bored, Eugene wishes he could play with ajax's sneks

-both are innocent, Eugene more so than ajax. The two also love cuddles

I’ve Got My Eye On You

Xavier Thorp x Original character

(This is going to be many chapters long. I’ve been having this plot bunny in my head for weeks. It was time to put pen to paper.

Chapter Two

The next time Xavier made it into town was with Ajax, Enid, and Wednesday Addams who was hell-bent on solving yet another mystery. Straying away from the others he couldn’t help but think about that beautiful girl standing outside an AA meeting. What he certainly didn’t expect was to see her at the Weathervane at the counter with a couple of friends. They seemed to be in some animated conversation with one of the older employees who worked whenever that imbecile Tyler didn’t work. He tried to not seem obvious that he was staring at her, but his friend quickly noticed and jabbed him in the ribs. Xavier glared at him “What?”

“You’ve been staring at that girl for like fifteen minutes,” Ajax said with amusement in his voice. Here we go; some idiot remark in the making. “I bumped into her a couple of weeks ago. That’s it.”

“You’re staring at her like she’s your prey…” Wednesday commented idly as her own eyes never left the menu that they were inspecting.

“Am not…” He scoffed, but shut up as he noticed the employee walk away from the boys and girl only for the blonde to shout out in their direction “Hey Mike! It’s your birthday today right?”

Elizabeth watched her older friend turn around with a frown.

“Now Lizzie you know damn well I don’t want to be reminded of that.” A loud sigh left his mouth “You’ll get it when you turn thirty. And don’t you dare start singing happy birthday.” The guy warned in a low voice.

The blonde smirked as she got up and walked to the other side of the diner past Xavier and his friends. Not evening noticing him she sat down at an old piano and started pounding out a strange tune that certainly wasn’t ‘happy birthday’.

“Stop the clock, take time out. Time to regroup before you lose the bout. Freeze the frame. Back it up. Time to refocus before they wrap it up. Years are getting shorter. The lines on your face are getting longer. Feel like you’re treading water, but the riptides getting stronger.”

At least Xavier wasn’t the only one paying mind to the girl now. ‘Elizabeth…her name is Elizabeth…’ He let her name bounce around his head. Looking at back at the counter Mike had his hand over his mouth laughing. There was pure joy on his face as he called out “Come on Lilibet!’ Xavier couldn’t help but be slightly jealous. When was the last time he felt joy in his life? Still, the girl kept playing and belting out this strange song that became quite catchy.

“Don’t panic! Don’t jump ship. Can’t fight it, like taxes. At least it happens only once in your life! They’re singing ‘Happy Birthday’. You just want to lie down and cry. Not just another birthday. It’s 30/90! Why can”t you stay 29? Hell, you still feel like you’re 22! Turn thirty, 1990.”

“What an odd way to wish someone a happy birthday…” Wednesday remarked, yet she looked intrigued. “But it’s accurate…” Enid and Ajax simply were baffled at this impromptu performance. Xavier could see that the rest of the diner didn’t exist. She was singing this song for her friend. The way she’d move from standing to sitting as she pounded away at that piano like a professional was simply breathtaking. Yet she didn’t even notice him, how badly he wanted her to look his way, but her eyes remained glued to the person she was dedicating this tune to.

“Clear the runway. Make another pass. Try one more approach before you’re out of gas. Friends are getting fatter. Hairs on your head are getting thinner. Feel like a clean-up batter on a team that ain’t a winner. Don’t freak out, don’t strike out. Can’t fight it, like city hall. At least you’re not alone. Your friends are there too. They’re singing ‘Happy Birthday’. You just wish you could run away. Who cares about a birthday? But 30/90 hey!”

Elizabeth hit the high notes as the song wrapped and felt slightly dizzy. Smoking affects your lung capacity, but her voice never wavered. Even coming down from an early high, she still looked clean to the outside world. She had gotten so good at hiding. Fingers then left the keyboard as clapping could be heard from the other customers.

Turning around she took a bow before she headed back to the front counter. That’s when she saw him. Giving him a small smile Xavier watch her walk past and followed her with his eyes. He couldn’t help but follow her. Why did he wish she was singing to him instead of someone else? He didn’t even know her name until he heard Mike say it, and yet he found himself annoyed and jealous. The teen wanted to know what she felt like; what she tasted like. He knew that he could walk over to her anytime he wanted, but for now he watched in the distance, completely fascinated.

Wyler vs Wenclair: If we’re looking at just the ships themselves I genuinely don’t think I have a favourite. I started in the Wenclair fandom but I tend to interact with the Wyler fandom a tad bit more these days. I love them both so much it hurts. But if I HAD to choose probably Wenclair because my favourite character is Enid and I’m going to get a lot more Enid content with Wenclair than I am for Wyler. Also I’m just a femslash kinda girl. 80% of my ships since I started in fandom at 11 have been femslash. Likely because I’m bi and complex queer women that actually interest me are hard to come across in media. And I already read a lot of published romance books that portray straight relationships that I enjoy so it would hurt slightly less to give up Wyler. SLIGHTLY! But I’m not happy about you making me figure that out. I’ve been sitting here for like 20 mins already.

Wyler vs Tynid: Wyler probably takes the cake here. Emphasis on PROBABLY. But because we have very little canon Tynid content it harder to make content about them and it’s a rare pair so I rarely come across other people making content about them either. Whereas Wyler has a very active and engaged community and that’s what fandom and shipping is all about. Like to an extent I already don’t have Tynid (when something does pop up it’s the best thing ever though). Also despite the lack of Enid (rude and unacceptable) Wyler as a solo couple has a very intriguing dynamic that is a lot of fun to pay with. They’re dark romance and obsessive devotion and that’s what I live for.

Now that torturous occasion is over (WYCLAIR ENDGAME) the rest of these are a lot easier to answer.

Enid x Ajax: Not really? I don’t have anything against it. I love Ajax and Enid really seems to like him. They’re cute. But I’m weird about Enid ships. I have a very specific idea of who Enid is and what type of relationship would suit her in the long run. And Ajax is too chill for Enid in my opinion. I think she’s better with someone who’s as intense as she is. Someone a little less hinged. Ajax is sweet and I think he makes a very good first boyfriend. That guy you go to school dances with. That you remember fondly. That very rarely upset you. And who was always by your side, holding your hand. Your first kiss. Maybe even your first time. But it’s as if something is missing. Love isn’t sweet. It’s intense. It’s obsessive. It’s always burning and sometimes it hurts like a bitch and you feel like your drowning. But it’s also fucking everything and it’s what makes life worth living. I’m in a ranting mood apparently, but to summarise, for some people sweet is enough, but I don’t think Enid is one of those people. It’s a valid ship but it’s just not for me.

Bianca and Lucas: Love it. Underappreciated ship. Will be writing it into the Wyclair fake dating AU. We haven’t seen much of them but from what we have I think they’re really compatible.

Yoko and Divina (Yokovina): Also love it. You’re obviously from the Wyler fandom and not the Wenclair fandom because A LOT (tbh literally all of us) ship it. It’s a big thing. You should check it out. Both of their screen times were lacking so most of the headcanons I have about them have come from their fandom curated personalities. But they’re endgame. I won’t take arguments about it.

Pugsley and Eugene: They’re already besties. They haven’t met but they’re inseparable. Wednesday herself thinks they’re super similar and she would know. Plus they’re both lacking in the friendship department and Pugsley would corrupt Eugene and I’m here for their antics. Also headcanoning that Pugsley has a crush on Enid too, and Tyler and Wednesday are like… you’re lucky we love you. You’re the only two people who could get away with that.
