I havnt even read or watched the ballad of songbirdss and snakes buy I really dislike all these theories about how lucy gray is the diractor of district 13 or her mother or katniss's grandmother because how else could katniss have had all these perallels to lucy? The perallels exist because of ehat both characters represent in the story. What both chaarcters mean. This isnt being directed by anyone save providance and fate (by which I mean author and narrative)

#19 - Gelid
There was once a time when gods lived in the world. It was at this time that Oschon, the Wanderer, made his journeys. One moonlight night, he arose from his slumber. Terrors had come to him in his sleep and made them chaotic. So he walked around his camp, seeking to still his mind.
Twas there that he spied her. Along the banks of a small pond, there she stood. Mephina. She was radiant within the moon’s glow, her skin beautifully shining back the moon’s glow. Her hair, a dark black. And here he thought Llymlaen was beautiful…
Mephina turned at the sound of feet crunching against leaves. Within the shadows, she spotted a man cloaked and with travel gear. His hair was badly unkempt and his clothes disheveled and he seemed somewhat nervous about intruding.
Twas love at first sight for the both of them.
She raised her arm towards him, offering him to come closer. Oschon exhaled a quick breath of relief and slowly moved towards her. He wanted to take her hand but he felt that he couldn’t touch her, that she would vanish before his eyes if he dared try to do so.
He lightly placed his hand on top of hers and the first thing Oschon noticed was the chill. He was a bit taken back by how cold her hand was.
And thus the first surprise, Mephina thought. How much more until he found she was too much and left her? But for now, he sat beside her, letting his fingers entwine with hers.
It took awhile for Oschon to find his voice, so drawn in he was by her. He could hear his voice cracking as he said “Who are you?”
“Mephina. And you?”
“Oschon. The Wanderer, is what they call me.”
She nodded and smiled. “They call me the Lover.”
“Lover,” he whispered in reverence. Mephina smiled and ran a finger along his cheek, under his chin, down his throat and left it lingering over his heart. It was beating ever so fast. She giggled a mischievous giggle and she felt it quicken underneath. She felt a bit of delight about that.
It was time to warn him. “If you wish to be mine, you must understand this. I change. Ever so slowly. Soon I will become wild and impassioned and childlike. The me that you see now will be as detestable to myself then as me thinking upon that girl now. For now, I am alight. Splendor. Controlled. Aloof. No one so far has been able to hold both aspects of myself and call them beloved.”
The wind picked up and danced along the pond lake. Oschon chuckled at the thought of this radiant beauty being as messy and as uncontrolled as he was. But she would likely be worse, his thoughts warned him. She might be as ready to rush forward as melting ice on a stream. “Well, I thank you for that warning. Give me thirty days. Thirty days to see you in all of your splendor. I will follow your lead, whether you wish to travel or rest. You show me who you are and on the next full moon, I will be able to give you an answer.”
“This...is a sound argument. Thirty days then, I shall be your companion,” she said. He gently brought her hand up to his lips to give a small kiss to it, to seal the deal. Mephina’s smile dazzled him and she in turn, leaned forward to kiss his forehead. Again, her touch was so very cold. Still, he wanted to hold her light close. That coldness confirming she was here and real.

A selection of psychological theories on motivation
Below is a quick overview of the main motivation theories used in psychology, education, economics, and public health. I took most of the information off the net and provided links to informative, yet brief, sites.
Content theories of motivation
Content theories explore the forces or building blocks driving people’s actions.
The main content theories of motivation are:
–     Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
–     ERG
–     Herzberg’s Two Factor theory
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs model has definitely become part of common knowledge. A short but educational summary of the main tenets of this theory can be found at http://www.abraham-maslow.com/m_motivation/Hierarchy_of_Needs.asp
ERG Theory
Clayten Alderfer modified Maslow’s Hierarchy of Need by summarizing the levels of need into three basic categories: existence needs, relatedness needs, growth needs (ERG). More about ERG and the differences to Maslow’s model can be found in a short and concise overview at http://www.netmba.com/mgmt/ob/motivation/erg/ .
Herzberg’s Two-factor Theory
Herzberg’s theory takes a different perspective on what motivates (satisfies) or de-motivates (dissatisfies) us. In a nutshell, Herzberg’s theory did not define satisfaction and dissatisfaction as being at opposite ends of the same continuum. The opposite of satisfaction is not dissatisfaction, but no satisfaction. The opposite of dissatisfaction is not satisfaction, but no dissatisfaction.
The following figures provide schematic overviews of the traditional view of viewing satisfaction and dissatisfaction on two ends of the same scale. Herzberg, as discussed above, saw different factors leading to satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
For more information, including critical views of the theory’s validity, see one of the links below:
http://psychology.wikia.com/wiki/Herzberg%E2%80%99s_Two_Factor_Theory_of_motivation
http://www.netmba.com/mgmt/ob/motivation/herzberg/
Here is a link to Herzberg’s book in which he outlines his two-factor theory: Motivation to Work
Process theories of motivation
Process theories explore the cognitive processes determining people’s actions.
The major process theories are
–     Equity theory
–     Expectancy theory
–     Goal-setting theory
Equity theory
According to equity theory the perception of unfairness in a social or organisational setting leads to tension, which in turn motivates the individual to act to resolve that unfairness. For more information, see http://www.businessballs.com/adamsequitytheory.htm
Expectancy theory
F = ∑(V x I x E)
Expectancy theory argues that the strengths or ‘force’ of an individual’s motivation for behaviour change is expressed as the product of the valence of the outcome from that behaviour, the expectancy that effort will lead to good performance, and the instrumentality of good performance in leading to valued outcomes.
For more information, see http://www.arrod.co.uk/archive/concept_vroom.php
Goal-setting theory
Goal setting is both a process theory of motivation and a motivational technique, based on the argument that work performance can be explained with reference to characteristics of the objectives being pursued, such as goal difficulty, goal specificity and knowledge of results.

Any rec recs for Nuxable?
ONCE AGAIN SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY.
And yes OF COURSE I do!!
Some of these are NSFW but I mean it’s actually meaningful for Nuxable so not sorry at all.
Six-String Soldier by @jaesauce. MY FAVORITE!!!! Seriously, the best Nuxable fic ever. It’s an AU where Capable is a folk singer who attracts the attention of gang member Nux and it’s just. The best. It’s still in-progress but I’ve loved this fic since the beginning. The fic writer not only does an amazing job of establishing Nux and Capable’s relationship, but also fleshes out Toast, Cheedo, Dag, Furiosa, Max, etc. so that they all have their own motivations and desires. It’s just SO GOOD. PLEASE READ IT!!!!!
Burn It All Away by meghanc303. Another one of the best Nuxable fics out there. It’s a well-paced fic that takes both Nux and Capable’s traumas into account and shows them healing in really powerful ways. It’s so grounded and realistic and just, augh, I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Unfortunately it’s incomplete and hasn’t been updated in a long time, but it’s still ridiculously good. HIGHLY recommended.
Our Words by supergirrl. Another super good fic that I’m crazy about!! Each chapter focuses on different characters, which is what makes it so compelling and interesting. All the women get their own time in the spotlight, which is honestly the best??? I love Nux’s and Capable’s chapters of course, but Toast’s and Cheedo’s are also super super good! I mean the whole fic is good, but those stand out to me the most!
The Art of Finding Reality by Vera. Hoooooo boy this fic is so GOOD. It’s trippy in a good way. I don’t wanna spoil anything. You just gotta read it.
By Any Other Name by winterwinterwinter. Listen. I’m going to love any fic that delves into the meaning of names. And this one is just SO GOOD. I come back to this fic like all the time. I love it so much.
Eternal by conceptofzero. A really good “Max is immortal” theoryfic. The best I’ve read imo. Honestly mostly genfic but still absolutely worth the read!
I’ve enjoyed a shit ton of Nuxable fics over the past year (seriously, the Nuxable fandom knew what the hell they were doing) but these are the ones that stand out the most to me!!

I dunno if this is a theory, I don’t even know if it’s sensible meta, but it’s a thought that’s been bugging me since I started playing with Papyrus=Gaster as a theory.
There’s a parallel here with our other pair of siblings -- Asriel and Chara.
At first it seems like Papyrus-Asriel would be the obvious parallel. They’re the sweet ones, the cinnamon rolls. But Flowey and Sans have their own parallels -- in a way, and more literally for Flowey than Sans, they’re the ones you can’t save. The ones who, ultimately, don’t want you to save them as long as everyone else gets the happy ending they don’t think they deserve anyway. You learn Flowey’s story but still have to leave him, and you never really find out anything about Sans except that he’s hurting for reasons you can’t even get to the bottom of let alone fix.
Gaster and Chara are mysteries, even more than Sans. Ghosts, and not in the Napstablook sense. We learn some of Chara’s story, and none at all of Gaster’s. They’re the ones you can’t even try to save, the ones where it’s not even clear whether you should. (And sweet, silly Papyrus isn’t helped at all, but that’s just a joke, right? It doesn’t matter whether he gets into the royal guard, whatever he thinks.)
The Underground loves its heroes, but it also destroys them. Carrying everyone’s hopes is a heavy burden. Chara was the first, and most tragic, victim of that -- doing something bad, something self-destructive, to free everyone. Asriel blamed himself for not killing to go through with the plan, but his real flaw was that he hero-worshipped Chara to the point he let them kill themselves rather than disappoint them by not believing in them.
Papyrus with the intelligence and education to be royal scientist would probably be one of the Underground’s stars. Even now he wants to be a celebrity, back then he could have been. People latch on to those who still offer hope, who offer solutions.
Sans, like Asriel, is passive. Even now he drifts along in Papyrus’ wake half the time. Papyrus is the one obsessed with the royal guard -- Sans is a sentry only because he suggested it. In genocide, Sans will warn you not to kill Papyrus, but he does nothing to stop the confrontation Papyrus has decided on.
(Sans’ hero-worship is funny applied to a naive goofball. It’s less funny applied to a determined and scarily smart royal scientist with a bad but well-intentioned plan.)
Things fall apart. Gaster winds up scattered, the largest part of him left as Papyrus, while aspects and memories are lost across space-time. Chara winds up as shreds of something that isn’t even a soul, eventually sticking to Frisk.
(Their brothers look for them, but never get them back.)
