Now, I'm not one to bash books. (who am I kidding, ofc I bash books) but really. Exuse me, but how can a voice be like honey, steel, AND a whisper at the same time? That is not how voices work. I mean, this book is so full of badly worded sentences and impossible metaphors. At times the sentences them self are full of contradictions. Not to mention how women are written in this book. Trying to say that these freaks of nature makes all the women weak in the knees and lamenting the loss of their reproductive organs. Like the smell of the sweat of these men that have been in the armors for days, if not weeks, are like an aphrodisiac. That's just. No. That is not how that works. The smell of sweat is the smell of the bacteria in the sweat. And when it's been sloshing around in a sealed armor for day at the time, the only thing this sweat-smell is gonna do, is make someone puke. I know I'm being very critical here, but yeah. When this is the first introduction into the #warhammer universe, then I feel it's okay to bash a bit on how it's written. If I hadn't been reassured that it's just the first books that are written this way, I would have read the first cheaper, then placed this book back in the bookshelf and not bothered finishing it. Alas, I am too fond of lore to not finish reading. And some of the questions raised in the book is interesting, even if the writing around them are a bit.. messy. So I'm still working my way through #thehorusheresy book one #horusrising. (I just need some breaks between each time I pick up the book)

Just finished #Fulgrim, and, I say it almost every time, this one is my favorite. Primarch Fulgrim is a compelling and sympathetic character whose fall into Chaos is one of the best opening tragedies of #thehorusheresy. Come for the Space Marines, stay for the “Space Cenobites.” Great novel.
