okay so I'd just like to say
this scene. whisper almost never talks at a regular volume, yet alone screaming. the majority of the time, her eyes are closed- you have to freak her the fuck out just for her to open her eyes. whisper is quiet and reserved,
and here she fucking screams and tries to leap off the vehicle. she opens her eyes, and without care or fear of death, jumps towards tangle. she screams for tangle. she was willing to give her life for tangle, and willing to take the life of those who hurt tangle. she has to be physically restrained by amy so she doesn't go on a suicide mission to save an infected tangle.
tangle warned sonic that whisper would take her death/infection badly. because tangle knows whisper cares. she knows whisper would do anything for her.
She knows they're in love. If they aren't canon, I don't know what is.
and then when whisper realizes that she can't save tangle, she breaks down crying.

✨How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Since Blaze & Marine have very on-the-nose names based on their powers I wanted a similar kind of name for her. So I thought of a bunch of earth-related names that I thought were cute, Quake I was on the fence about but after talking with some friends (shout-out to the bumblekast server) who liked it I started warming up to it too.

Late teen/young adult. Older than Blaze
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
Not currently.
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
Anything Lychee flavored. Tropical fruits are always a hit in general. Never eats meat.
💼 - What do they do for a living?
A traveling oracle, she can pick up vibes and premonitions from certain gemstones or rock formations. People seek out her help for advice or if there’s land that needs excavating
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
At her core Quake is just a big rock nerd. She likes learning and going to museums if there's any kind of exhibit about geology
Also all her jewelry is handmade so she's good at metal craft, all her rings are melted down ores & metals she's collected. There's a story behind each one.

Crush rocks. Look at rock. Know where rock came from.

She loves to just sit and enjoy her surroundings, no drama, only sitting
She hates shopping for herself. She doesn’t mind it if it’s a gift, but clothes shopping for herself in particular she’s just really uncomfortable with the whole experience (look around, looking at sizes, trying them on, figuring out if she likes it enough to wear more than once, standing in line to buy it. etc. )
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
I could be cheesy and say when she made friends with Blaze & Marine, but other than that she's always traveling she doesn't usually spend time with other people on her birthday or holidays - but one time a town she was staying at found out and threw her a small surprise party and she still cries when she thinks about it.
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Sometimes picking up & and experiencing the memories of an old rock aren't always pretty. She doesn't like to talk about them.
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
There’s a few initial sketches I did to get the overall idea going, but currently she’s on her 1st finalized design
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
I like powerhouse ladies and I like plus-sized representation in my favorite media, Blaze currently doesn’t have that in the Sol dimension so I took that as a challenge to see if I could make one. Sega also (currently) isn’t really keen on large mammal designs like elephants or horses, so I wanted to see if I could make a large hooved animal fit into the Sonic template.
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
I picture her fitting right into a kung-fu movie, as either a wise mentor or the hero's traveling companion, or even a mini boss depending on the situation.
She would hope she fit right into a cozy slice of life drama or a hallmark movie though, but she has too much of a fantasy character presence
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Identifies as a girl, she/her/they pronouns, Ace Lesbian
🙌 - How many siblings does your OC have?
Currently 0. She views Marine as what it would be like to have a little sister though.
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
Parents? In Sonic’s world? Ha!
Her oracle powers can be traced through her lineage though. I imagine she would view them with respect.
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
She’s cute and she can punch a rock in half
I also just like gentle giant characters. She's oc comfort food.
✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Not as much as I should but I really want to change that, I think there’s so much potential to explore Blaze’s world and it’s just sitting there.
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
Absolutely not. Even if there was a dire situation where death seems like the only way out, I’ve seen enough magical girl baloney to know there’s always another way. Blaze & Marine would snap her out of that “I have to end myself here to save everyone” mentality, but that's the only kind of scenario where I'd even think about that.

Claustrophobia, including feeling closed in by big crowds
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
In a playful manner, Blaze as a rival.

✨ How did you come up with the OC’s name?
I wanted to use a word that meant ice that wasn't extremely obvious, and Rime ended up being perfect! To be specific it means hoar frost.
🌼 How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
Same age as Blaze! She was created ~100 years ago, but like Shadow she was frozen and didn't age until she got woken up.
🌺 Do they have any love interest(s)?
She's aro, so no romantic love interest. That said, she and Blaze do definitely end up in a relationship :3
🍕 What is their favorite food?
Surprisingly, anything spicy!
🎹 Do they have any hobbies?
Ice skating! Rime can create her own ice and propell herself pretty easily, but outside of fighting she's discovered she loves the elegance of truly dancing on ice, and challenges herself to learn difficult jumps. She also likes going for long morning walks, especially on a crisp winter morning when the ground is still covered in frost.
❤️ What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Most of their memories as a child with their brother, although a lot of them are bittersweet to look back on now.
✂️ What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Seeing her brother die before being frozen.
🧊 Is their current design the first one?
Yup! Some of their fur colour has changed ever so slightly (her muzzle and ear/chest fluff are now pure white rather than the same off white as the rest of her fur) but that's it.
🍀 What originally inspired the OC?
@transgendershadowthehedgehog made a post about how Blaze should have an aro cryomancer rival, and I ran with the idea.
🌂 What genre do they belong in?
@mari-madas gave me the idea that the Sol dimension is centered more around fantasy in contrast with Sonic's dimension being more sci fi. Not a hard and fast rule as they both have magic and tech, but it's about the Aesthetic™. So, fantasy!
💚 What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Aromantic nonbinary lesbian! Or as she would describe herself, girlthing.
🙌 How many sibling does your OC have?
Just the one, her adopted brother, Gertrude's grandson! Possibly also a Sol version of Biolizard, but I haven't come up with anything for that idea yet
🍎 What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
Like Shadow, Rime was made rather than born, so technically doesn't have parents. But her creator, the witch Gertrude, was basically a mother to her... In a way.
Rime was always perfectly happy with Gertrude and never really thinks anything was wrong with how they grew up. But anyone else might think differently, as Rime was treated more like an animal than a person. Not with (much) malice, Gertrude just assumed that Rime didn't have the intelligence of a regular mobian. This allowed Rime to grow up pretty feral, which she considers a good thing! She won't look too deeply into it. She DOESN'T have mommy issues, promise (lying).
✏️ How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Definitely more since this showndown, which I'm glad of! I want to draw her more in the future too, she simply hasn't been around long enough for me to have made a lot of art for her.
💎 Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
I mean... gestures to Shadow "dying" at the end of sa2. A similar thing happens to Rime, so while she does die, it's not permanent.
💀 Does your OC have any phobias?
Large open areas, especially at night. Being in space is particularly awful for her (not that she'd show it)

so was struggling a bit, the original name was Aurora, but then a friend suggested Sapphire to match silver, and I liked both, so I made Aurora her last name

no, not right now, still debating on if she gets any once she's able to focus on life more than surviving

hmmm, initially it was just stuff she could find, so she didnt really have much focus on a favorite food, so not right now

matilda by the tournament runner, it was once brought up that since sonic has tails, shadow has Matilda, who does Silver have, I got inspired, and a month or so later, I thought of it again, and thus, sapphire was born.

apocalyptic and action, since she lives in the apocalypse, she fights a lot.

hmm, she never really put much thought into it but.....
she identifies as a girl and is a lesbian, asexual

oh boy ok so. i don't actually think about shipping all that much, admittedly. but if i had to list the ones i like the most... hough. this isn't a complete list, and i'm sure there's some i'm forgetting, but these are the ones that come to mind right off the bat.
Espilver. i am a huge fan. this would probably be my OTP, because look at them. their first interaction in Rivals 2 reads so much like Espio having his very first gay awakening and it's... it's really good. they're both awkward and adorable and they think the world of each other. i love it. i love them.
Whispangle, because... i mean. look at them also. they're lesbians, Harold. that being said i really dislike the behavior of a lot of Whispangle shippers who treat it as canon and call anyone who ships anything else homophobic. like... i have friends who have been treated very poorly for just not caring for this ship, and i think that's ridiculous. :(
Knuxouge, but i wouldn't ever really want them to be in a relationship canonically. i just really like the dynamic they have where Rouge flirts with Knuckles and Knuckles has no idea what to do about it. 10/10 i think they're silly
Sonaze. like... do not get me wrong, i love aroace Sonic. i love that headcanon. however i also love the dynamic he has with Blaze. i've seen some really cute Sonaze art. if i had to ship him with anybody, it'd be her for sure.
anyway these are just the ones i personally enjoy. i still reblog art of ships i'm not into as much because often the art itself is really good, and sometimes the dynamic depicted is cute. and also i just like having diversity in ships on my blog :) i think it's healthy to occasionally partake in ships you personally don't buy into. it builds your sense of community with the folks who do like those ships and i think that's important!

✨ How did you come up with the OC's name?
I originally named her "Moonlight" (bcs she was very moonthemed), and eventually gave her the nickname "Lilly". During a multitude of character revisions (all within like 2 years of making her), I dropped her original full name, as well as one the L's.
Her current full name, "Lilium", comes from the Elfen Lied OP |D

She's 20/21 ish~ Her birthday is on June 29th, but I keep her age pretty static rn.

She doesn't currently have a job, but she aspires to be a published author!

Beyond writing, she's also just a general consumer of pop culture (books, movies/shows, games), researches ancient forbidden texts, and is super into freestyle parkour~ She also collects bugs, and octopus/squid/jellyfish plushies

I feel like i described her loves two questions ago, though she does really like vibin w/ Nicki. drabbling down some story ideas while Nicki plays some chords on her guitar.
She quite dislikes having to do anything with her biological family though. Not for any reason to do with them, she just doesnt know them?? And she's annoyed by suddenly having to reconnect with them. It's to figure out why she suddenly has Shadow Powers:tm:

Once when she was twelve, a friend mentioned that she taught there was a monster in the corn fields. Lily, 0 fear and Super Interested in monsters, went in to look for it.
And she found it!
And though she doesnt remember much of it afterwards, she holds it as her bestest memory.
✂️ What is one of your OC's worst memories?
She has 0 control over her Shadow Powers and during a particularly dark night (new moon), she got stuck in an intangible shadow person form. Unable to be heard or seen by anyone else, it was the most isolated she had ever felt in her life. It is probably the one and only time she had a panic attack.

HAHAHAHAHAH n o.
I change Lily's design like a girl changes clothes. I barely ever drew her the same to begin with, and overal she's gone through a few major redesigns, and plenty of smaller ones.
Little timeline! not every stage is represented, but it the major redesigns at least!
🍀 What originally inspired the OC?
Believe it or not; a dream.
It was a weird ass dream not at all related to Sonic but it featured a sort of moon spirit and my brain was just "I like her" and tried bringing her to the waking world with limited success.

Adventure crossed with cosmic and gothic horror? I dont limit myself |D

She has one older foster sister (Swinde) she absolutely loves with her whole heart, as well as 3 biological siblings (1 older; Jillian, and 2 younger; Hilja & Eiju) who she barely knows.

She has an absolutely Wonderful relationship with her foster mom Lauren, but is more estranged to her biological father, which doesnt become much better :)

everything. She's one of my oldest characters and is one of a few who comforts me when i feel down so.

Nope!! Definitely had crushes before, but since the Jackal Squad moved around so much she never got to act on any of them.

I don't think she got to eat out all that often, so pretty much anything fast food. She got a McDonald's quarter pounder with extra pickles hold the onion once and has dreamt of eating it every day since (her standards are low)

Mostly artistic ones,, like drawing, painting, sewing, etc, but they'll try anything if it looks cool enough and she can get the materials!!

Her first "real" birthday, I'd think. The squad found out about her birthday soon after they found her and had something close to a regular party when it came around. It was the turning point when she really started opening up to them and became the excitable bubbly person she is (was?) Today :]]]

Anything from when she was alone. There was a period between her leaving her birth parents and finding the others where she was left to fend for herself -- she still gets nightmares.

✨ How did you come up with the OC's name?
It's been ages, I don't actually remember, but presumably following the pattern of Blaze and Marine's names.
🌼 How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
15!
🌺 Do they have any love interest(s)?
In lesbians with Blaze, though it's not really dating so much as "acknowledged mutual crush".
🍕 What is their favorite food?
Pretty much anything lemon-flavored, particularly shaved ice/snowcone-type stuff.
💼 What do they do for a living?
Freelance cartographer and occasional salvage diver.
🎹 Do they have any hobbies?
Does "exploring" count as a hobby if that's the main thing she does with her life? Besides that, though: loves comics, and has sporadic periods of playing the flute.
🎯 What do they do best?
Skye has an uncannily good sense of direction, even out at sea with no landmarks in sight – part of it is that her powers let her read the winds easily, but she's also just mundanely skilled at navigation.
🥊 What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Loves: exploring, finding out new things. Hates: staying still. (can you tell they're a counterpart to sonic lmao)
❤️ What is one of your OC's best memories?
Not sure! I haven't come up with a lot of continuity for them, it's basically just "was involved in the events of Sonic Rush Adventure". That said, probably finding some really cool place while exploring.

Being stuck out at sea during a really nasty storm – their wind powers weren't strong enough to mitigate it, and it was a pretty terrifying experience. [this answer made up on the spot]

Her design's pretty vague, because I've never actually drawn her, but the image of her in my head has stayed pretty consistent over the years, yeah!
🍀 What originally inspired the OC?
I wanted to round out Blaze and Marine to a counterpart trio to Team Sonic, and it made sense to continue the elemental theme.
🌂 What genre do they belong in?
Action-adventure, probably! They'd be a great Legend of Zelda NPC. (especially if you put them in wind waker / phantom hourglass)
💚 What is your OC's gender identity and sexuality?
In the general ballpark of "trans girl" (she's content not trying to narrow it down more than that), and a lesbian.

I hadn't thought about it until Right Now, but I think she's got two or three younger siblings.

Hadn't thought about this before either, but it's pretty good, I think. She doesn't see them a lot, what with the traveling, but she does her best to visit now and then.
