Chapter 47 of Harrow the Ninth

Commander Wake's last thoughts, I guess? It's interesting that she could have chosen to save her own life by killing Gideon and didn't, especially since in the last chapter Mercy was talking about how she didn't care about family and didn't want to be a mother, and she doesn't seem like a motherly person, anyway, and she literally refers to Gideon as "the payload" here. Was Gideon's mere presence on Pluto meant to bring the plan to fruition somehow? Mercy definitely doesn't seem to think that worked out that way, but I don't know what Commander Wake was expecting to happen after she died, exactly

I'm not sure if he's trying to say here that she was haunted by a literal ghost, or haunted by a metaphorical ghost, or that going through that much bullshit fucks everyone up and she shouldn't be so hard on herself. Because I'm very interested to know if all those experiences were just due to her being haunted by literal ghost, personally

This is fun to contrast to Cytherea's recounting of this story back in Gideon the Ninth:

She makes it sound like they had some deep Seventh House heart-to-heart and Dulcinea was totally fine with this plan and didn't object to being killed at all. I love that we get to meet the real Dulcinea and find out that she does hate Cytherea just as much as everyone else does

Also, Harrow doesn't tell her this for some reason, but her lying about who her friends were did help Camilla figure it out, I think. Just not before she'd killed a bunch of people and Palamedes had figured it out by a different route

Who is she getting revenge on in this particular scenario, though? I don't think she really has a horse in this race. Cytherea is not here, John is not here, she doesn't have anything to do with Commander Wake and I don't think anyone in this scene actually knows who the Sleeper is at this point. Or does Dulcinea think that the Sleeper is Cytherea?

Is all the blood in the River bubble not actually real enough? Yes, it's all just a fake environment made of spirit, but like, other things in the bubble have been real enough to use for necromancy - the animal fat candles, or Harrow's bone chips, etc.

Does Harrow not recognize the suit? Gideon at least remembered the suit, but since Commander Wake's death wasn't actually all that relevant to Harrow and happened before she was born, maybe she was just never told about it. Did Wake then just randomly possess a sword that happened to be in the Ninth armory, and just by luck that sword was requested for Gideon? Only, when they were going through swords at the very beginning of Gideon the Ninth, all of them were old and rusted and unusable, so it would be probably somewhat remarkable for an actual good one to wind up in there, so maybe it does have some special history? Commander Wake almost certainly didn't actually have it on her when she died, she very much seems to prefer guns to gigantic swords

And Harrow always sensed that the sword was haunted, but Gideon never did, Gideon thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Is it just because Gideon has the necromantic ability of a brick, or did the sword being haunted by her mom actually draw her to it?

Is Harrow still interpreting her feelings about Gideon as just being like totally normal things to feel about you cavalier, and that's all that is, no romo, etc.?

It's interesting that Wake calls them "wizards" and what they do "magic", you would think that BOE would really be playing up the evil necromancy angle here

So, I guess the ghosts can be killed permanently here, but since they're also imposing their own rules on the bubble, they can also survive things that should kill them in the real world with a strong enough belief, or will power, or something, like how Wake survived being shot multiple times by Marta?

This series sure does love long fights between people who technically can't die, I have to say it removes a lot of tension when so many people are immortal or otherwise unkillable

Can Wake actually exert her own rules on the bubble enough to make it possible to counter necromancy with guns?

I see. So Wake wants to take over Harrow's body, and presumably go kill John and end the whole war with a win for BOE. Or maybe she wants to resolve some shit with Mercy and Gideon the First as well, but I'm sure she also probably wants to kill John, and this book has been repeatedly promising that John will be murdered on every chapter header. I guess it was just perfect luck for Wake that the random sword she possessed wound up in Harrow's possession after she became a Lyctor and now she's on board the Mithraeum with everyone that Wake has unfinished business with?

I sense that Ortus is about to impose some hilarious new rule on the bubble, probably related to the Noniad

I know I keep banging on but it really grinds my gears the way regeneration is presented in chibnall's era/PotD.... the idea of having ONE Doctor who is Special-est to you is fine I don't hate it in concept, in fact I go feral over River and 12 on the DAILY. but the way PotD presents it as so black and white I really hate it. either it's your Doctor or its not worth it.

"You're not MY Doctor" (literally giving YAZ the attitude of all the sexist NMDs who were giving Whittaker such vitriol ??????) seems to be the underlying ethos of the ep. While it makes sense for that scene as Yaz is talking to the Master, there's also like. The hologram switching to 5 and 7. Yaz leaving because the Doctor's about to regenerate.

They're the same person!!!! How much more impactful would the scenes with Tegan and Ace have been if Whittaker got to do them fully? To really show it's the same Doctor after all this time. Thinking about this coming directly off the back of Moffats era emphasising the opposite angle of "same software different case", of "PLEASE just... Just see me".

A lot of people see regeneration as a trans analogue right ?? Which the show especially emphasised this era by casting a woman and beginning to describe the Doctor as genderfluid in marketing and then they turn around and have her closest companion, the person who's supposed to LOVE her and she's like I'm going to change and they treat it as this devastating tragic thing that Yaz can't cope with to the point she has to leave.

They don't even TRY to stay together and see how they got on. Yes her personality and looks will change you won't love the Doctor in the same way, but they'll still be the Doctor (again, the person who you apparently love). For all they knew Yaz & 14 would have had a better more honest and open and actually COMMUNICATIVE relationship but they didn't even give each other a CHANCE.

Next to other companions and characters who had to deal with regeneration before and adjusteda and grew together it just makes Yaz and 13 look pathetic.

I had set in mind to use the pregnancy interaction during a "wedding scene" but after figuring out CC brides dresses (Or the ones I downloaded" don't show up on pregnant Sims my whole setup got ruined 🤡 Anyways, I took around 80 pictures and uh well....it's hard to pick a favorite 😂

She was wearing one of the ugly base-game dresses, so you don't really see anything by the angles I picked.

10/10 mood. It's understandable when you're sitting here in a video game for around 5 hours.....

Now that I see the chandelier there....we heard at work today that Sia song and I commented how awkward things would be, if you had to dub every song in existence into every country's language. Like imagine having to sing in German the refrain like: ICH WERDE SCHWINGEN AUF DEN KRONLEUCHTER. AUF DEM KRONLEU-CHTER! 😂 It would be amusing tbh.

I actually love River's natural look, but still gave her for the wedding a bit of color. I didn't go through a lot of hairstyles in MTS and only had in mind to have a hairstyle, that wouldn't be that long. I changed my mind in the end and used one of the hairstyles that came with Seasons and she actually looks good. (Coming from someone who knows nothing about make-up)

OK those were my pictures. They're still the most adorable thing I have done yet. (With them at least) ❤ If I get to know how to work with poses at some point, I sure will take more. Or actual put up screenshots of a "basic wedding"

'harold they're wet' is one of those ones that acquired a nonsensical just-to-divide-the-document title that has really nothing to do with the contents of the fic in the slightest, but I've kept the name around because of the silliness. and silliness is what's in what I've actually written as well so far, because it's just little scraps and bits of describing the weather and Keith and Ewen's reactions to it.

'cold cold cold' is sort of a rewrite of my previous Graçay fic, which I'm no longer entirely satisfied with. while there's a lot that I did there that I liked, I have some other angles that I'd like to get at and a rather darker take on Hornblower's mental state at that time that I've been sort of rotating gently around.

'uh oh lads it's alan breck again' - another semi-rewrite of a previous fic! my first fic for Alan and David was kind of a rushed job, and almost as soon as I'd finished it, I wanted to approach the same missing scene from a more in-depth viewpoint. so this is going to fill in the space where the book leaves off and that begins, and perhaps, depending on how things go, write over my previous attempt with a different take on their reconciliation. also I think it does comes across that I was writing while sick, stressed, and awake at 4am in the first iteration, so I’m hoping to improve on that a little.

'alan just happens so much' is possibly my favorite of my fics for Kidnapped so far, despite the fact that I have very little idea of where it's going to go in the slightest. since we see a lot of David getting hurt and Alan having to help him through it in the book, I thought it might be fun to reverse that relationship for once and see how Alan reacts to receiving a more physical consequence for his constant brushes with danger!

(rather short, sadly, as none of these are all that realized at the moment) tasting platter of snippets under the readmore:

harold they're wet:

The air tasted of summer, the leftover smell of warm wet soil rising from the ground as it always did after a rain. A wind of delicate but slowly increasing intensity tickled at Ewen’s arms and tossed the ends of his still-wet hair, carrying with it the faint tang of river-water. By the gathering blue clouds in the distance, there would be thunderstorms in a matter of hours, but for the moment, the day was bright and glorious.

Bright it remained despite the first scattering of rain, the movement of the air almost tangible all around him. The sun-shower that had come up was warm enough that he felt the need to enjoy it as long as it lasted, relishing the feeling of the rain against his shoulders.

cold cold cold:

That was William Bush as he had always been — soft blue eyes and a too-loyal heart and a warm, hard hand reaching out to him. But he took that hand, that sturdy lifeline, and held it between his own as if it was the last thing holding him in the living world.

In that seemingly-interminable carriage journey, he had come to know Bush’s hands better than ever he had hoped in years of watching them at their work. Though the familiar tan had faded in those sunless weeks, they were still half callus and half scar, made worn by their capability and made capable by that same wear. Hornblower’s own hands were knobbly and ungainly, even more so in such direct comparison, but he gripped Bush’s hand as firmly as he felt was safe and allowed himself to be drawn closer.

Bush reached up and put his free hand to Hornblower’s mouth, gently brushing his thumb over the place where his lip was cut and swollen. Being forced down against the riverbed had left him considerably battered, the side of his face bruised and scraped where it had made far too familiar an acquaintance with a sharp rock, and though it did not now cause him much more than a dull and constant ache, he shied away from the touch all the same. He knew his own inadequacy as well as he knew anything at all, but to have it marked so pointedly by Bush was another sort of shame entirely; scowling, Hornblower turned his face away.

At last he slipped into sleeping, for though their journeying had not weakened him as it had David, he still was greatly in need of rest. His shoulders slumped and his head dipped to rest against the side of the bed, but even so, his hand, the best help that he could yet offer, stayed firmly wrapped around that of his friend. Alan Breck was a gambling man in all things, for he borrowed and bet with his own life and others’ lives as easily as he spun cards and coins from one hand to the other. There was a flitting, frisking sort of madness that came over him oftener than otherwise, that kept him leaping, laughing, from one caper to the next. But whatever he’d made and so nearly broken with David was not something to be bargained away. Their friendship had not been forged to hold the dull shine of worn-down silver, but the bright strong gleam of tempered steel.

alan just happens so much:

“Dead!” said he, a flash of triumph shining across his face like a lightning-strike. But like the lightning it was gone within a blink, and as he tugged his sword free of his fallen opponent, Alan made a sharp sudden inward breath and fell forward. The sword-hilt slipped from his hand and clattered against the stones, and its master tumbled so that he lay nearly upon it, all in a mess of torn blue cloth and tarnished silver lace.

David rushed over to him, finding himself kneeling at his side almost at the same moment he was conscious of intending to do that very thing. Alan had fallen upon his face with his legs folded haphazardly beneath him, his feather-trimmed hat lying in the heather a few feet away. Even in falling, Alan had curled himself securely around the more major injuries, and as David put a hand on each of his shoulders and lifted him into a sitting position, he saw that his face was still all a-snarl with anger and pain.

“How are you hurt?” David asked, but as he drew back his hand, his question was answered. His palm was smeared across with blood, the same blood that was currently in the process of seeping its way through Alan’s coat-sleeve and down his arm.

Alan stared down at his hand, the fingers stilled but shining with blood, all of him eaten up by horror. Words came to him, but they were empty, a hollow shadow of their usual shine. This was not right — this should have been a victory to be crowed over, a new verse to the song of his own glory and his own strength, but it was no such thing. Instead, that strength already seemed to ebb from him and that glory was nothing but ash almost as soon as it had sprung to light.

“It’s no’ so bad as that,” he insisted, his voice unsteady.

WIP - Bathhouse - Guest Areas

Yesterday, I did this:

As before, I'm adding a cut for length & spoilers for the movie Spirited Away.

Some of the broadest environment shots we get in Spirited Away are devoted to area above the baths.

I don't have the squares for all that, but I can get close. I can get the vibe. And I'm getting closer to what I want.

It's been a really fun, overly-complicated match the detail game. There's different wood on each of the floors, for example - a dark stained wood on the lowest floor, laquered black in the middle, and bright red, a little more matte, on the top floor. The cavity for the podium includes the floor above it, and the whole area is lit by globe lights on the walls and columns.

I spent a lot of time yesterday flipping though images of that whole wall face, the podium up to the great door that the River Spirit leaves through, inside and out, to figure out what was going wrong and why things weren't looking right.

The answer was in the section above the main entrance:

Above the main entrance there is a sign, then windows with a small roof, and then the balcony with the huge door, another roof, another balcony, and so on.

Here's how I resolved that:

(There have been some small changes since this image was taken, but nothing that changes my point here).

So you have the entrance, the wooden sign with metal brackets (don't worry it's been moved down), the windows, the little roof, and the balcony above.

We get most of the information about the path from the entrance to the baths from this scene:

I got it into my head that they go down stairs to get to the baths, but I can't find the proof of that now. Oh well. Whether I'm right or wrong, it's how my build has it and it's too late now. And this is just an interpretation. Right?

Honestly, putting the baths beneath the main floor lets me make them much bigger, so it's a better solution. I'd never fit the hot springs on the entrance level. Right?

And I'm so sure I saw something that told me the entrance and baths weren't on the same floor.

Regardless.

The inside ends up like this:

The angles don't match, but you get the idea. The cavity that the podium is in sits directly against the wall of the entrance so that the stained glass is exposed within it, but the podium still sits far enough back.

Quick shoutout to myself for finding a way to capture those lovely gold panels. They were a doozy. They're taller than Chihiro's head, but shorter than the doorways, and are framed black then again with the wooden framing that's everywhere.

I was also really satisfied with the wallpaper for the podium. I was shocked I didn't have something with the whole moon / pelican imagery, but I found something with the right colors and shapes, and that'll do.

What I did is most easily explained with the floor plans I think:

RIP to the fun elevator I had in the cavity's place before, but it had to get switched (for now) to the opposite end where it doesn't belong. I needed that podium cavity to look right.

I also lost the stairs that went down to that floor and were hidden beside the podium. They're now off to the side, still perfectly usable by sims, but not technically correct. I'll probably fiddle with them more later. There will be both stairs and an elevator connecting the entrance floor to the baths, but where they go is still being interpreted.

But as you go up, the floors weren't adding up.

The balcony with the huge door is on the floor with the black laquered wood, not the red like it is in my build. The entrance level in my build is the brown wood, meaning the balcony with the huge door should be one floor up not two, because I needed that floor in-between for the sign and the small windows.

So I just kind of fudged it:

The balcony is on the red floor, and there's a little bonus balcony on the black floor. Also I won't be able to have a proper rooftop inside because the red floor is where the whole open to the bottom thing ends. I flirted with the idea of disconnecting the exterior from the interior and having a false giant door on either side, but it just felt wrong. So I'll likely use object roofing to make it work when I get there.

Or rebuild the whole floor like I did for the baths yesterday:

I've been a little frustrated by my lack of exacts - the characters on the sign and lanterns are wrong, the lights have flourishes they shouldn't, the curtains aren't a dark enough purple, but I have to remind myself that close enough is close enough. The sims aren't worried that the murals in the baths go from blue-toned to pink rather than yellow to pink. Sims can't read. This project is about finding enough things that are close enough that the overall experience feels magical, and I'm getting there.

I think said Tommy f got shot and he did several times so he calls Tommy Allen a slob and the others and says go home and cry in your milk cuz the clothes don't care they don't want to see him shot but they're having trouble not get keeping him from getting kidnapped and from getting shot and it is sloppy s*** and it's wrong from your perspective Tommy Allen you can't get into anything I need keys and the codes and all that stuff and for some reason you just don't feel like doing it or something I understand there a few options it really when it really comes down to it there aren't it's because of the way life is and a similar to what you're going through so you start getting it almost immediately so Steve wants this and Rob wants that and they're on your way it's the same thing if you don't have a 45 and you have a 22 well I don't have any of that stuff but you know it's just about delicacy of Intel it's like a beluga caviar has to be kept at a certain temperature. So you start getting mad at himself I'm sorry and stuff I said well looked like I'm going to clean through so it's not too bad and you guys are nuts and sometimes remember stuff you shouldn't but so he laughed and said yeah and he was going to hit me yes but now he will and can't do that unless you're take him away. It's kind of like 20 very fine 10 mile wide plus lasers wide I said oh that's what I'm talking to you so carry on don't forget to get me some big beans and some you know Boston baked beans so he started laughing.

It's a lot going on but it's important to note that almost all of them get shot in the bad place and he's right these clones have the Intel and they're not very savvy and some of them may get captured and put into the matrix and during this movie series and some people figure it out and it's very bad what happens next to the max

You really enjoying yourself Mac Daddy bothering me bothering my husband but you won't be shortly you've got a big mouth a big style and you go out like an idiot literally. The foreigners are through the blockade it's about 20 million ships left not enough to hold the line in any way especially against the juggernauts that are here and sitting offshore in many places and at the East Coast and they're at the Carolinas blocking it and they're off the east coast of Massachusetts laughing cuz it's really weird watching it on YouTube at the same time it's happening fast forwarding to the next scene I was searching for the scene and watching the scene while it's playing out from a different angle what we know is they're saying you're so weird and hokey and strange and you're doing this crap it's coming out for beat him and they don't know who's sending it and her son says it has to be someone who's there or someone who's filming no and I sort of got that I can't really remember it it's not really true if we have to remember in the forces to send it back I was kind of hard to tell who it is. So they rejoice because they know that it's impossible but we might know and our son says it's probably the computers. Thier sending the unit there. It's a war now.

This plays out tonight and they all get shot up and tomorrow is the end of black mass in mystic River and they're two hunting movies

Up through the end of Chapter 14. Lots to discuss.

The story so far: Exposing Sorsley leads into a discovery phase in exploration that I actually lost because there's a clever red herring in the dialogue tree, but it's okay as it just leads into a different version of the next chapter with a trial sequence that's also not totally free but that I managed to win all the same. One trial by combat and elevation to the Saintly Seven later (it surprisingly makes sense in context) and it's time to talk about slavery. The treatment of the Roselle is genuinely awful although the Hyzantians' underlying reason for doing so seems a bit silly. How is it that this one group of pink-haired people were the only ones in existence to know that rock salt exists? Good for highlighting the economic motivations behind racism/xenophobia, but still odd. Anyway...Silvio dies as expected after Wolffort voted to protect the Roselle, the scenario that includes this game's early bad ending that I got just to see how it went. It's nothing special, and barely qualifies as an ending - more like a non-standard game over. Then the game's first threeway vote over how to retake Glenbrook, wherein I chose the Morality route of blowing up the bridge. You get to kill Thalas and Erika, no surprise there, before chasing down Avlora on the river and having a ship battle to save Roland's sister whose loyalties are weird now. This segment ends with Gustadolph counting his losses back in Aesfrost and rumblings about his own weapon of mass destruction.

On convictions: After digging around a bit on Reddit I realized that I'd overloaded on Morality and should have stopped after recruiting Decimal, especially because as it happens the final splits are not tied to their respective characters' convictions in a straightforward manner but instead are a combination of two at the expense of the third. This is wonderful for a prerelease theory I had and will definitively deserve some analysis later, but for now I've had to hurriedly switch over to building Utility so that I can hopefully stick with Roland at the end who's going to be Morality+Utility. Doing so also got me Hossabara the mounted healer and Lionel the taunting, debuffing tank. They're a bartender and a merchant respectively, but their kits are rather lacking in those flavors. I also used the dancer/Hyzantian spy Milo during the Glenbrook battles, but I've read that she's not a permanent recruit unless you take a story split in Chapter 15 that I don't intend to do in this run.

Impressions on the story: I continue to be impressed, although I'm still waiting for Roland to fall off the deep end as I've seen people say he does in his ending on Discord. That was the main reason I decided to do his route first, but so far I'm not seeing it. The story continues to run him through the wringer, with him nearly killing his sister in an accident reminiscent of a climactic scene in FE14 Birthright and then later having to fight over Serenoa's loyalty with Hyzante right after he's crowned. Watching Frederica stand up to and then kill her annoying siblings is satisfying, particularly as they end up being little more than something like ugly stepsisters to her Cendrillon, but aside from that her story doesn't grab me all that much. Benedict is even harder to get into, not when he's constantly suggesting the coldly pragmatic course and then barely reacting when Serenoa and co. constantly overturn him. I'm mostly Utility-leaning myself, but you've got to give me something to work with here.

Speaking of giving me something to work with (or not), character stories are this game's equivalent of supports in Fire Emblem or party banter in Octopath Traveler. They're greatly improved from the latter, although they still come with the floaty continuity of the former. Still nothing in the way of queer subtext that I can discern from any angle, with the most being possibly the relationship between Cordelia and Avlora...and that's more because I just know that if they were both men it'd be read as pretty gay. F/F subtext eludes me most of the time, but in this case I'm still hesitant when I don't know what to make of Avlora's quick change of heart or how Cordelia apparently forgets that Avlora murdered one of the brothers she wants to avenge.

Gameplay: Still impressively varied, with each character gaining quite an expansive set of skills as they level. I'm annoyed that the item for promotion to 2nd tier seems to just stop appearing after a certain point in the story, because Anna is stuck by herself in 1st tier now and the 3rd tier item doesn't work for that. Hopefully promotions carry over in New Game+. The battles continue to throw curveballs too; the trial version of Chapter 10 looks like it'll be easy since it's set on a tiny arena above a pit of spikes, but the enemies like to knock you down into said spikes. The ship version of Chapter 14 was also fairly interesting, and I'm fairly sure the first time I've seen a different type of weather effect - which is bad for Frederica since she gets a damage buff in clear weather.

Tunnel, Episode 1, semi-live-tweeting-esque thoughts.

This show is starting out not at all with the vibes I was expecting. Which just has me worried that all this meet cute gruff exterior adorableness is going to implode, soon, in the most spectacular fashion.

It hasn't escaped my attention that the sleazy reporter dude refers to the victims of the killings as "women in skirts", and that Yeon Sok, is, in fact, a woman in a skirt. But surely the tragedy isn't going to happen this soon.... right?

Whoomp. I didn't consider the little sister angle. On the one hand I'm glad our meet cute is still intact, but on the other hand I am a sucker for platonic relationships, and am sad we aren't get to see this one more.

I already love the constantly vomming maknae (I only wish this character had been a girl so I could have thrown some "OMG SHE'S PREGNANT who is the baby daddy" speculation in the mix) and am not thrilled by this huge guilt trip he's been thrown.

Okay, turns out Gwang Ho is a good sunbae who tries to (gruffly) knock some sense into his maknae.

I was relieved when the doctor said the time of death was before Chun Hui's boss spoke to him, but I also appreciated what Gwang Ho said about it not really making that much difference - because realistically you can't save everyone, and you can't let each inevitable failure break you, because that means letting the bad guys win.

Also, I will be thrilled if the serial killer is a woman after all. Hey, a girl can dream.

So for the sake of a recap, in the rest of the episode, Gwang Ho basically forces his boss to admit there is a serial killer on the loose, after finding dice marks on the victims feet. They're missing victim number 5, but he does find a rich high school student with a giant backyard of dead murdered dogs, and he's making his behavioural analysis jumps and connecting the dots that his peers aren't trained to/don't want to.

He knows, and we know, that the creepy student did it, but we can't quite prove it yet. So he heads off to canvas the crime scenes again, and we circle back to the opening scene of him getting his head bashed in.

This episode managed to put in two instances of foreshadowing that ignited completely opposing reactions in me:

No, thank you very much, I am not looking forward to him not coming back to take you on this Han River cruise for your birthday and not bring you roses;

But hot damn if I am not two thousand per cent here for watching maknae become the chief and Gwang Ho having to work for him in the year 2017.

If he ends up in maknae's son's body I am going to need several moments to gather myself.

Other general thoughts from this episode:

I LOVE the 80s scene shots - Gwang Ho dejected after the funeral, walking home in the rain, the funeral itself, the city before its been built up... just gorgeous.

I can't wait to see what sort of stupid symbolism this whistle necklace is forced to play.

That flickering lantern better have a purpose in driving the plot forward.

I don't think I realized when I picked this drama up what a stellar cast it has. Or perhaps that's why I added it to my list in the first place, and then forgot in the ensuing years.

And on that note I am going to bed. As much as I'd like to start the next episode right away, this one took me about 3 hours to finish, because I kept pausing in between for dinner/tea/a shower/cleaning up/general adulting. But I have no plans for tomorrow (apart from watching the last episode of Youn Stay) so fingers crossed I come back to this drama.

Michael is always breaking in to something haven't he ever heard of just trying to walk through the front door. Why couldn't Michael use the school computers to look up this information, or he could have gone to the public library instead of breaking and entering the UFO Center.

This teacher does not look smart enough to come up with a project like this when Maria says be the personal questions you definitely know that Topolsky must have something to do with these questions because this would be another way for her to find some answers. Maria not wanting to work with Michael on this project the way she said it makes you think that there's more to to that she doesn't want to work with him. But teacher didn't even realize that Michael wasn't in the classroom LOL, which makes me definitely think that this project is definitely the Topolski , even the way they're paired up is even fishy. Kyle hates the idea that he has to work with Max, Max could care less. Liz doesn't like the idea of Max and Kyle working together on this project. Topolski is such a snake in the grass. Max is good at getting out of sticky situation Charmed his boss out of pressing charges against Michael, and he didn't even have to use his powers to do it. I understand when Max is upset however if Max would be more interested in this Dome and help Michael he would have not snuck in to research it. Again Max getting Isabel's approval instead of the deciding on his own whether or not to give the keys to Michael. Max wants to help Michael however Isabel won't allow him Isabelle more worried about her Human life being blown up. I think Isabel is afraid of the on the inside of her the unknown hence why I'm Keen to helping Michael finding this Dome. 👽

You definitely know the best thing that has happened to Max is having Liz in his life and telling her his secret however he has to go with a different answer so the next best answer is being adopted which also can also be the truth. Kyle is such a dick right now after Max gives him the answer. How is being such a jerk with these questions. This must be so uncomfortable for Liz to be watching those two working together.👽 now Liz has a cell phone two episodes ago she was using a payphone.👽 did they really think that Michael wasn't going to find a car. Of course Liz is going to go with them because there's no way that Max going to let Liz stay behind with Kyle. Of course they would have a tail on them from Topolski. she must work for the government agent if the messages she sends has to be encrypte.

Wow what a hideous flip phone that was cell phones have definitely changed over the years for the better. That was a hard Sting from Liz to Isabel about knowing what species she is. Liz hates being kept in the dark. She is of a correct Michael Des do pretty shady things and revolves her best friend she definitely needs to know what is going on.Max wants to tell Liz however Isabella telling him not to say . Again Isabel calling the shots for Max.👽

Why is Kyle so obsessed about Liz and her whereabouts because last episode he said the best thing about breaking up is that I don't have to care anymore( something along those lines) but in this scene he's acting so worrisome about her. Kyle needs to move on by himself another girlfriend and then maybe he would stop obsessing over Max and Liz. The less he knows the safer he is. He's just so hell-bent on finding out what's going on. Kyle knows that his father is hiding something from him knowing something about Max Evans. This is the turning point of Isabel and Liz's relationship. The tail just got busted he wasn't a very good tail. Come on at least pretend you're talking on the phone.

👽 this is when Max starts being selfish. he isn't worried about anyone he doesn't want anyone's help all he wants to do is to find out what's in the dome so secretly Max really wanted to know what was inside and now that the opportunity presents itself he isn't turning back now. How does Kyle know where they are there is no way he's tracking her. Because tracking in flip phones do not exist back then. Unless he found the paperwork his dad had copied from Michael. I'm going to go with that he found the copied paperwork. Okay so it wasn't paperwork because his dad has the file. How does Kyle know where they're going or where they are.?.

👽 Isabel is weirded out about sitting in the Jeep with Max and Liz, however Liz and Max don't mind sleeping in the jeep together.👽

I'm having a hard time stomaching Max and Liz right now because the conversations are so intense most of the time. They are so in love with each other that they are so scared of it.

What a sight to walk in on it does look awkward. Max you wouldn't have to clean up Michael mess if you would just listen to what he says and try to understand. Of course Kyle has to walk in I thought the exact moment how in the flip do he know exactly where they were. I can't believe Michael just tossed Kyle across the room like that. Well Michael did give the warning to Kyle to get out twice. Kind of deserve to get tossed like that. Michael was really hot when he gets mad. Max and Kyle fighting over Liz is getting so redundant. I'm finally glad that Kyle got the hint that it's over between him and Liz he was trying so hard to keep hold of them possibly getting back together. Liz is Right Maria and her need to know what's going on they are part of the group. It's so much easier when everybody knows everything because they all can work together as a group no one is left in the dark anymore.

The Jeep doesn't hold five very well Michael is kind of hanging out of it a little bit. Maria walking into that Dome is worried about Michael she has this worried look on her face. Maria encouraging Michael to do try again and it works Maria is Michael's support line. She is standing so close to him. They have this Bond and connection now.

Topolski Master followed Valente. I can't believe she just whacked him in the back of the head again she's a bad guy so of course she would. Of course they're going to end the episode saying to be continued...

💜this is the start of a beautiful love story Beautiful Bliss anks and so much more.. Michael's desperate for a ride that he would take a ride from the person he can't stand the most which is Maria, he is even willing to answer some stupid questions for her.

💜 I love that Michael is just making up these random answers for these questions however I kind of do picture him watching The View. Michael is so lame can't even help because of his bad back what a lame excuse. I will. Michael attempts to borrow steal Maria's car. Maria changing from being kidnapping to abducting cracks me up lol.

💜 Maria is not very subtle when she trying to talk to Liz without Michael knowing. I can't believe he just threw Maria cell phone out the window like that.

💜 Maria is so irritated Is Michael right now. She Rambles every time she's around him it's out of nervousness. It's cute and adorable. Maria is complaining a lot not fully understanding why Michael is doing what he's doing, but once she realizes what he's doing she understands him a little bit more. I think that this is the moment where Maria See's Michael In a Different Light. Michael is surprised and stunned of the Ridiculousness that is coming out of Maria's mouth while she's talking to the police officer he doesn't think this BS story is going to fly with the officer. Michael is shocked that the officer bought that lame story. [ here's a little oops in the scene...in one angle Maria has the seat belt on another angle she does not]

💜 what does he mean when he says don't tempt me after Maria says will you just do something go. The way they get mad at each other is priceless chemistry is just that good. Even though Michael can't control his powers he tries to fix Maria's car for her, just to shut her up. That is too cute. The way Maria says and so do you cracks me up after Michael says your car sucks. He just tottaly humiliated himself in front of her. him knowing that he wasn't able to use his powers to fix the car because he can't control his powers and he tries anyway speaks volumes. Maria needs to take a chill pill. After spending all that time with Maria in the car I don't blame Michael if he went out to get a drink.

💜The Aladdin room looks so sketchy I wouldn't stay there I would have rather stayed in the car. Michael is Right Maria has been acting like a princess this whole time. Michael mounts something but I can't read what he saying( if anyone can read lips please tell me what he saying) Michael's Human Side registers that Maria is uncomfortable it doesn't feel safe. Now he feels the need to make her feel comfortable safe and okay. His Human Side is kicking in.

💜 Maria wondering what kind of urges he gets cracks me up. Michael is standing a little too close to Maria when he says not even if your last woman on Earth. If they were standing any closer they would be kissing. This is the moment where they start connecting with each other when they start working on the project answering the questions Michael reveals a little layer of himself. This is the moment their relationship changes little Sparks are happening. They're getting to understand and know each other. They have something in common they both thought the same thing" there's gotta be something better out there for me then Roswell New Mexico".( I'm yelling at my TV kiss each other already) because they totally want to but right now is not the right time for that.

(I love Michael and Maria's banter back and forth in this episode)
