haven't scribbled any Lights Out in a hot second!! take these two scribbles - i wanted to mess around with Wally's hair & try to make a rudimentary ref for him in the au's late stages
#might make a ref for all of them!#once they're all sufficiently Scruffled by their time in the dark#its hard to tell but wally's colors are desaturated / muddled#like look at any vintage puppet - their colors Fade! their felt/fleece is a little scruffy! etc!#they get grimy and prone to tearing. their seams weaken. plush flattens. etc#oh yeah the color on his hand is Chalk Dust#scribble salad#welcome home au#wh lights out au#i realized i wasn't giving him Enough hair#so i made it a little longer. a little fluffier#this scribble's frank is Very freshly awake which is why he barely looks disheveled#he needed to do Something so he decided to brush out wally's rat-nest of a hairstyle#and wally is... unsure how to handle the sudden attention

#I was sooooo patient trying to capture this#even then it was dumb fucking luck#this one defo gets its own post#addition fun facts abt this night:#I left my driver's side car window down the ENTIRE storm and did not notice. nothing damaged but I have a stinky seat :(#however a stinky seat is the small humbling moment at the end of a phenomenal experience enjoying the storm from my small cave-like patio#so I sat outside enjoying the rain. me n my bong. and also a mogwai album. eyes closed. just sounds and my own deep breathing - peaceful#lighting would streak the sky and I could see the bolts through my closed eyelids - they were bright and crisp; defined. even if obscured#everything just snapped into place. the lightning and the music had moments of perceived synchronization - probably pareidolia#waves of euphoria radiating out from the base of my skull. full goosebumps. momentous feeling - I must've been manic#when I opened up my eyes the world had gone from being heavy and dark to just. red. so red. like a wildfire on the entire western horizon.#my driveway doesn't come with a glamorous view either. it was just that the entire western hemisphere was flame-red fading into eigengrau#i have those photos too lmao - will be sharing soon#my art#aesthetic#art#artwork#webcore#glitchcore#internetcore#photography#original photography#nature photography#lightning#storm#rain aesthetic#stormy aesthetic#dark aesthetic#surreal aesthetic#surrealcore

At the risk of being a little mean, I really do not care and I did not ask, but people keep telling me anyway, and it makes me not want to engage w the fandom or talk about it at all. Make your own post or join an open discussion on the matter :) That is a cool and neat thing that you can and should totally do because your feelings and opinions and criticisms are as valid as my love for the series.

Why is black a High Commitment Color?
That's something I'd award to literally anything lighter than your original color, which requires you to remove your skin, uh, I mean, bleach your hair first.
#NO BC if you bleach your hair and you don't like it for some reason#then the newly lightened hair will take very easily to whatever dye you put over it#if you wanna hit it with some brown dye or a bright color or whatever. it'll cover the blonde just fine#if you DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK... and you don't want it to be black anymore#you can't just put another color on top. it's BLACK. you don't Cover Up black. you have to bleach it#in order to have any other color show up#it's really impossible to GET black dye OUT of the hair#and both of these are different from what I do w my hair#where most of the time I'm using a color deposit but not a developer or anything that strips the hair first#and red dye also washes out / fades quickly#Also have you ever met someone with naturally light eyebrows and light eyelashes who dyed their hair black?#the UPKEEP. is THERE.#sergle answers#which is why I can't just do it On Impulse w/o thinking about it. bc it would STAY WITH ME for a long time#until I either bleached my hair or grew out my hair
