On a personal note: I am really thrilled at this final result.

The BLOGGIES can come off as clique-ish. Voting is public, but "public" on the Internet generally means a circle-jerk between subculture friends, a popularity contest.

This thing began as a jokey riff on those best-tweet-of-the-year polls over on Twitter. While Prismatic Wastelands grew it into a celebration of OSR blogging culture, it still has NSR / POSR inclinations---the specific community soil it sprung from.

As host this year I tried to extend the BLOGGIES' reach. Canvassing for nominations outside the OSR space got a couple of indie-RPG designers on the finalists list. Am proud of that; we have much to learn from each other.

I made prizes---hoping that, one day, with enough dangling carrots, these awards will eventually be tasty enough for non-POSR cliques / communities to attempt a takeover? We'll see.

Ultimately: I am glad to water this sapling and watch it grow slowly. Community is made by growing trees, not building greenhouses.

I think everyone should go read Flix's latest post but I'm just gonna post this as this was sent to ME back in 2021 when I was on my old account ^^

Fame was a friend of ours during the latter half of 2020, was then called out in December of that year for making fun of someone's triggers on Twitter dot com, and was of course kicked out the friend group.

Flash forward 2 months from then and I was bombarded w/ shit like this from her twitter friends b/c she was too much of a pussy to even send them herself

She was SO fucking desperate to find "Ash" at the time b/c he had allegedly called her a pedo [news flash: no one did that] and sent more shit like this to me [I have ~30 screenshots of what happened that day]

Also, to this day, I am confused on what info she could've had on me at the time. What, I was a black 16 y/o in Washington DC? There's a lot of black teens here. And if she had my IP address, okay? I live in an apartment building, you'll get the building address but not my APARTMENT ADDRESS.

And so on.

Bob Odenkirk has been playing Saul Goodman not just in AMC's Better Call Saul, but also in the award-winning series Breaking Bad, working alongside Bryan Cranston's Walter White in helping to create his drug empire. Before joining this AMC universe, Odenkirk was a part of HBO's Mr. Show, a legendary skit comedy show that gave the comedy actor plenty to sink his teeth into. Surprisingly, this crossover wouldn't be Odenkirk's first appearance in an anime, as Attack on Titan actually gave Saul Goodman a cameo, with the actor appearing as one of the Titans that were threatening the Scout Regiment in the final season of the anime adaptation.

Twitter Artist Grand Guerilla shared this impressive recreation of one of the earliest scenes from the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, replacing Jolyne Cujoh's lawyer that sent her up the river with the man who helped the likes of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman throughout both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Just when I think Oatly is wasting their marketing money...

...I realize that I read about their latest move via media they didn’t have to pay for.

I saw that Oatly had gone to great lengths to produce a silly social video that would vanish quickly from sight. Where did I see that? On several ad press blogs.

I saw that Oatly had done a clever but obviously expensive OOH campaign supposedly to get people to sign up for their newsletter. Where did I see that? On someone’s LinkedIn post.

And where did I see that Oatly launched fckoatly.com, a website dedicated to “all the bad things about an oat drink company”? On a twitter post.

And where did you read about all three? On someone’s Tumblr post. 100% free media exposure.

All three of these moves by Oatly baffle me because there’s no question they each took a lot of effort and money but I don’t see how they could justify it. And then I remember all the free coverage.

Oh, and don’t miss fckfckoatly dot com. This brand has such an interesting approach and tone of voice.

Lost Pages of Taborea: Community Guide to Runes of Magic

Welcome to the Runes of Magic column at Massively. The Varanas Council ordered that I bring you the latest news from Taborea every Monday. If I fail to do this I am ordered to take part in endless repeated quests in the Ystra Highlands. This would be okay if I were not a charter member of the Society for the Preservation of the Ystra Ferret. It's evident that I will not let this occur. You dear readers, will benefit from my being on time and bringing you a lot of useful and interesting information. I also save few fuzzy ferrets.

So, let's jump into our very first article with a list of sites and resources to get the potential Taborean traveler up to speed and exploring.

Official Runes of Magic site - This is the official site. Having said that, it is a good idea to keep up to date with announcements of news, technical issues, contests, and any other Item Mall specials they may have going on.

Official Forums – This section covers most of the forum requirements that are common to all forums. They do a really good job of posting patch notes, and it is for that reason alone that you should check them out. If there's a change to how something operates within the game you'll find it the game's patch notes. Apisanet.Com

Facebook - RoM also has several Facebook accounts to accommodate different languages, much like Twitter. I keep the accounts for the US and International. Both are in English and allow you to interact with a wider player base, especially in the case of characters that are on US or International servers.

YouTube is a different beast from Twitter and Facebook it only requires you to bookmark only one YouTube account. It is primarily a repository for all English and German videos in both languages that are available on the official websites of the respective countries. It's faster to find and view the videos.

Runes of Magic Wiki - Here is your great base of operation for most all things how-to. A great place for beginners can learn about basic game mechanics. It also has more advanced charts where players can make up all the various rune combinations.

Getbuffed.com/runesdb.com - Some prefer one over the other, but they are both great resources for items, NPCs, weapons, armor, you get the picture. It's in the same vein with Wowhead. They both offer up some useful tools to scrape information about characters and share profiles offline.

Curse.com - RoM uses the Lua scripting language to allow further personalization of the user interface and game's functions through addons. You can increase the number of damage meters and mailbox functions, among other things. There are currently over 300 addons to improve your gaming experience. If you like coding you can make your own addon and share it with the community.

Twitter Official US Twitter account for RoM. I've also found GM Eres' account hiding in a box that was buried in a sea of snow. Be aware that each server has its own account. There are other official game accounts through the US one, or by going to the server's main page.
